I have been going to affinity dental for years. Dr. Ho and Do are great at their job but due to the poor experience I had today with the office personnel I decided not to reschedule with affinity dental: 1. I recently changed employers and provided their office with my information weeks in advance and they failed to verify my insurance 2. When I arrive at the office there were no office personnel in sight to greet incoming customers, when one was available she was not very friendly/attentive 3. When I made my appointment I ask to be scheduled with my usual dental hygienist, they assured me she will be there and she was not Communication needs to be improved at this office, it would be nice if they let me know the dental hygienist was not there so I can reschedule. Today was such a waste of time, took time off from work for nothing. Follow up: Dr. Ho reach out to me and he mention they are trying to improve training/business process. Although, I will not be coming back I gave them 2 additional stars for the effort. read more

This place is awesome! The staff is caring and knowledgeable! I actually drove all the way from Dallas for my treatment. My root canal and fillings were easy and a day later aside from being a little sore I feel great! They even called to check in with me. Finding a good dentist is important and when there being options on every corner I was looking for someone who actually cared about their patients. I would recommend them to anyone! read more

I just moved to the area and decided to Google dentists near me. I called a few Dentists and they were booked months in advanced. When I called Affinity they had an appointment available for that week... So decided to check them out. I have to say that I was VERY impressed with them. Everyone there was super friendly. My first visit I met Dr. Ho and Melissa. They explained in detail the procedures they were going to do. I needed a filling on my front tooth and Dr. Ho explained the options I had. They called my insurance right away to find out what they covered and gave me an answer VERY quickly. I came back a few days later for my filling and saw Dr. Do. I had a broken molar and I thought I was just coming in for an evaluation and treatment plan. Dr Ho and his sweet assistant were able to give me a crown the same day. They did an amazing job and normally I'm very anxious when I get this kind of work done. They kept me at ease the whole time and I was done before I knew it!! Love this dentist and staff!! read more

I struggle with Dentist Anxiety from bad experiences as a child. Ever since I have been going to Affinity Smiles Dentist in Roanoke they do everything to ease my anxiety. When I needed a crown, they numbed my mouth as per my request, they had soft music playing and aromatherapy to help relax me. They allow a family members to come in and hold my hand. The staff are very welcoming from the front staff to the last stop of payments. Monica is a new dental hygienist there and real asset to the business. She is so thoughtful, gently, explains everything she is going to do and then lets you know when she is about to proceed. She makes my experience relaxing and yesterday I even went on my own! I am a grown woman and this dentist has been working on helping me overcome my dental anxiety and I am getting better each time I go. Affinity Smiles if THE BEST! My family has been seeing Dr. Do and Dr. Ho since 2012 and couldn't ask for a better dental office. They staff is very friendly and helpful and NOT pushy about dental care. When I first decided to get my dental care back on track as an adult, I dreaded the "guilt trip" you often get from dentists. This was not the case at Affinity. They were there for me from day one, willing to do as much or as little as I needed/wanted. I love Affinity Smiles! They have a great discount plan for those without dental insurance. A really fair deal and they are never pushy with suggested dental work. I go every six months and I am completely happy to see either Dr Do or Dr Ho. Both are very skilled, personable and knowledgeable. I highly recommend these dentists and their practice. Plus ..... all of the office staff, hygienists and technicians are exceptional and make you feel very welcome. The hygienist was very patient and understanding of my need to rest my jaw often during the cleaning process because of a tmj issue. After a 15 year relationship with my retiring dentist, I was afraid to try anyone, but my adult daughter talked me into Affinity Smiles since she was so pleased with her experience as well. Unfortunately, contrary to all the good reviews, it has been a very bad experience and cannot be recommended at all. They are untrustworthy. The treatment plan is highly questionable as they don't follow their own suggestions .and do not even share this with the patient. The second time you show up, they don't remember you and when asked why they did not follow the treatment plan, they do not really know. Please save yourself and don't go there. There are enough dental offices in the area that might give you a better experience. This one is definitely not on the list. read more

Last year I had to have an extraction and a bone graph after my molar cracked in half. Literally a week after my first appointment, another tooth broke. Since I did not have dental insurance, I was nervous about the cost but the staff at Affinity did everything to get me financing approval. I have always had a very strong aversion to dental work because of bad past experiences with mouth sensitivity and a very high tolerance to the numbing medicine typically used. Dr. Ho was very friendly and did his best to ensure my comfort during the lengthy procedures but a few months later I began experiencing issues with the porcelain crown he installed which required a referral to a specialist. It was during a rather difficult root canal the endodontist discovered there was still a crack in the tooth under my crown that wasn't sufficiently treated and could potentially require another extraction and bone graph. A temporary filling was put in place and I was told Affinity should follow up to schedule the permanent one after they were notified treatment was complete. It wasn't until I received a follow-up call from the specialist six weeks later that I inquired if I should call Affinity because they had yet to contact me. When I attempted to make an appointment with Affinity on two occasions, I was told someone would call me back but never did. I am still paying off the previous procedures and am now probably looking at just as much in new expenses to fix problems that could have been prevented if properly treated over a year ago. read more

Dr Ho and Dr Do are awesome! Having to switch from a dentist I had been going to for 17 years was hard. I saw some of the reviews and that they were in network so decided to give them a try. Going inside the place was not as massive as my last office but felt comfortable to be in. During the check up they were very thorough finding a couple things wrong but I had known that going in. I believe I have found my replacement dentist as they are gentle. Dr Ho is amazing with lidocaine as I had not felt a single numbing shot when needed. read more

The first time I went, I wasn't super impressed. BUT, no need to harp on that because I went to another dentist and it was THE WORST. I gave Affinity Smiles another chance and this last visit was A LOT better. Dr. Ho even fixed my retainer on the spot, for free, cause it was giving me some issues from when he put it on last year. The scheduling is good, unlike another dentist office I've been to in the area, and they don't try to up-sell like I've found a lot of dentists do. They suggest what is needed and then let you make a decision. Karen is a really nice hygienist too. I'll continue coming to Affinity Smiles as long as they are covered by my insurance. Love these dentists! They are professional, extremely talented, personable, and treat us like family. Everyone in the office is great, too. My family has been going here for about 3 1/2 years now, and they are by far the best dentists we have ever gone to. I mostly see Dr. Ho who is a perfectionist and always listens to my concerns.
