I was skeptical going to the Grapevine Dentist, since I thought I already had the best in Uptown. However, I was so relieved when I walked in my new dentist. I saw lots of smiling faces greeting me on my 1st day. From Rian helping me schedule the appointment to Henry as my dental hygienist, and alas Dr Alex Lee, I can't imagine going anywhere else. This modern office with new equipment, clean bathrooms and staff who always have a smile is exactly what I needed. I even went back two days later to get a few old silver fillings replaced. Dr Lee is all about saving the teeth I have, replacing the old fillings that were cracked instead of costly crowns. And my bite is perfect! Bravo Dr Lee and team! Can't wait for my next cleaning!

I have never hated my teeth as much as after going to Dr. Dabboul's office. Last fall I went in for…read morea cleaning and a new patient exam. Dr Dabboul said I didn't have cavities but a few deep spaces in my teeth he wanted to fill before moving forward with anything else. I asked if he would fix a food catch I had, he said yes. I came out with two food catches instead of one. He cratered and changed the shape of my molar, the one I'd asked him to fix. He made my molar shorter and the crater deeper. I have been in constant pain with that tooth since seeing Dr Dabboul. Unable to eat or sleep well. That is until I had a root canal last month. The endodontist said the tooth had been taken down to where it was sitting on the nerve. The only option was the root canal if I wanted relief. The other food catch he made is a crater in a different molar, it will either need a crown or root canal in the near future as well. So in addition to paying for dental services I'm paying out to fix those dental services. If you like your teeth and want to keep them I do not recommend this dentist for services.

After receiving that, a coworker recommended Southridge Dental & Dr. Dunson, and I have been a patient there ever since. I did not disclose that another dentist had recommended all that work at my first visit, and Dr. Dunson did not assign me a laundry list of procedures, which was my first sign he was an ethical practitioner. He takes a conservative approach to dental work, opting to keep an eye on potential issues rather than immediately resorting to fillings or root canals. Now, I have recommended them to countless folks. My husband sees them too. Andrea and Lisa are the two hygienists/dental assistants I see the most at my cleanings, and they are both amazing. They have been there a long time (Andrea, since I've been a patient; I still remember these bedazzled safety glasses she used to wear many years back!) Rounding out the team are Carol and Shannon in the office. Carol greets you at the front desk, schedules your appointments, and always calls the day before your appointment with a friendly check-in. Shannon handles the billing, and she explains everything very clearly. Their office is run very efficiently. I am rarely waiting in the lobby long enough to even sit down! After the hygienist or assistant finishes your cleaning and any x-rays, Dr. Dunson is there within a minute or two to check everything out and give you an overview of any potential issues he's noticing. (He hums along to the music while he's working, which is always entertaining! I can relate, I do this too.) I haven't needed much dental work, but in the event of a necessary filling, Dr. Dunson handles the procedure kindly and compassionately. I don't love getting a shot of Novocain (who does??), but he and the staff are always so understanding and encouraging through the process. I cannot recommend Southridge Dental enough. They are an independent operation, which I prefer over the influx of corporately owned dental offices flooding the area. They are kind folks who genuinely care about the health of your teeth and giving excellent care.

Dr. Sohn seemed okay but the dental hygienist scraped my gums so hard I was not bleeding a little but a LOT and then she aggressively pushed a deep cleaning priced at $900. This was my first visit here after moving back to the area (grew up here, 10 years in Austin, back to DFW for a few months) mind you I have never missed a cleaning in about 20 years. I get a routine cleaning every 6 months and have never had anyone do what this hygienist did. I wanted to be open minded plus I had already paid the upfront 1 year package so I came back 6 months later after she scolded me about not doing the deep cleaning and said well if you want you can just see back in 6 months how flossing and brushing goes (yeah I think I will do that). Then at the next cleaning magically my teeth were fine b/c I requested a different hygienist. Also wow no bleeding. I switched to Tate Dental in 2024. Routine cleaning in Feb & Oct 2024 - both visits got a clean bill of health and no bleeding from the hygienist. I told no one of my experience at the new dentist to see. I asked the dentist and hygienist if they would recommend a deep cleaning and they both said my teeth are perfect health and it wouldn't be necessary showing me photos, etc and explaining what would be the reason for a deep cleaning. I did let Dr. Sohn's office know of my experience when it occurred in 2023 and they did nothing. So all that to say, buyer beware. No clue if the reviews are real or not but my experience at Sohn was awful and I only went there b/c of the good reviews. Also Tate is better priced too! I called in advance and asked for pricing after the awful experience at Sohn. I have moved a lot in my life and of the 5 dentists I have seen no one has EVER scratched the crap out of my gums like that and then acted like it was not their fault. I was shocked and now I wish I would have just stood up and left. I realize now how bad it actually was and I was just being a pushover.

I had an emergency visit for my first visit from an old silver crown spot and fractured tooth. Kylie did an awesome job cleaning my teeth and then Dr Perry explained work I needed. The following week I went in and I swear it was the best experience for what I was having done. Samantha was assisting Dr Perry and she even got me an ice pack for my jaw when I said it was hurting some. Super impressed with the whole staff. Very friendly and understanding.

I am here to write about the experience he provides for his TEAM. Because you can read the over 140+ Google Reviews about his practice to know you have made the right decision by choosing Dr. Perry as your dentist. I want to tell you what happens behind the scenes. Dr. Perry, his wife (Cara) and daughter (Brynn), bring HEART to the practice. They are generous, fun, and a genuinely caring family that put their practice, staff, and patients first. By doing so, the staff you are greeted with are a reflection and extension of them. We are all human and all have unique personalities, just like any group would, but there is something about working for (and being a patient of) Dr. Perry's team that makes you feel you are part of something special. They make you feel like FAMILY!!! Maybe it's the combination of his love for his family, the Texas Rangers, TCU, and gardening.
