I received this email extra 20% off EVERYTHING including Mark down in store only! so I CALLED the store and I asked about couple items to see if I can get the extra 20 or not the person who answered the phone CONFIRMED that she can do it AND if she does not have the items she have a code to order it! so I DROVE 40 minutes to the store to get the items I want! When I got there they said only the 20% works on regular price item or clearance even though the email says 20% off extra OFF EVERYTHING including markdown!!! Stopped by looking for an 8 x 10 rug. No one even asked if I needed any assistance.. store empty so not like staff was busy helping others.. they were not. Finally I approached a sales associate. I explained what I was looking for. She hardly paid attention; simply said not sure what we have but I'll get you a paper copy to look thru. I did but not once did anyone inquire about what I saw and whether it was in storage or whatever. Finally I got up to look around... same sales person walked right by me without asking any follow up questions etc. finally after a few more minutes wandering about I left. Very poor customer service. I guess they didn't consider me a viable customer which I was. But no more at that store. If that's the presale service I can only imagine what it would be like after you paid the money. read more

I bought more than $5000 furnitures there, but I'd suggest no one ever do the same thing. Don't expect to be approached - the store is understaffed, and worse, they don't care about you and your business. I was told that I can buy furnitures anywhere and that's no difference for them. The delivery is a nightmare. You pay $299 for 2 weeks delay and cancel without notification, and then 1 more week of delay. When you call customer service about it, they'd lie on your face and you don't even get an apologize. The furnitures look good and I do like em a lot. But you really need to like them crazily because you need that positive emotions to deal with all the frustration to be followed. They deserve NO CUSTOMERS. read more

The customer service was good, the square footage is not. I get it, West Elm probably justifies this store with saying, "Hey, at least we have a presence in Bellevue." However, the purpose of a physical store location is so that I can see, touch, and experience the items I see online. This is all very limited due to the rather small size of this location, which is saying a lot from a New Yorker. In the heart of Chelsea, WE has a store that's at least twice this size, TWICE! West is my go to for lots of design needs both professionally and personally. The inventory is consistent but different store locations can be inconsistent depending on staff. I've only had pleasant experiences at this location, via phone, for the holiday season. I feel so scammed. They honored a coupon I had, but for some out of stock items they that they ordered online for me, didn't apply the coupon and didn't wave shipping, even though they said they would. I didn't realize until I looked at that receipt the next morning. I called to cancel the order, but it had already shipped, and they wouldn't fix the issue, except wave shipping. I called the store, and the manager said well, it's too late and our store is meant to serve as a display, and to be for online orders mostly. If I could give negative stars I would. This place is a joke. They like to take customers money and don't deliver any furniture to the customer. I placed an order on a table and some chairs, and the chairs were delayed over 3 months from the promise date which caused me to need to cancel the entire order since I needed both and within a certain timeframe. Since I cancelled the order instead of refunding me the entire amount that I paid for which included the price for the chairs, table, and delivery fee they only refunded me the cost of the table and chairs. They never refunded me the delivery fee even though no furniture was delivered to me and even charged me tax on top of the delivery fee. What kind of business does this? Not a very reputable one if you ask me. With the amount of negative reviews I should have known better and never have even given them my business in the first place. A $250 + tax lesson I got to learn. This place and any of their sister companies will never get my business again and I'll make sure and tell all my friends and acquaintances so they can make sure and never shop here either. This whole experience and the amount of time spent dealing with this situation has been such a waste of time AND MONEY! Don't waste your time here either! Just a friendly warning. read more

The staff are exteamly attentive and did an excellent job helping us find the right furniture designs for our home. The credit card and double point Sundays have earned us thousands of dollars, though if an issue arrives regarding points the store associates can help you work it out over the phone. This location has more in every space than Seattle and parking is easy. You get what you pay for, don't expect Ikea prices for furniture that will last you a decade and with all the patterns and changing design I always feel that I can find that perfect pice for our home. read more

I don't understand why there is a policy where if you purchase something to pick up in store, there's a limited time frame at this store to pick up what you bought. There are employees there. Why can't they just find my name in a box of online orders? It should be set aside anyway. I had to drive 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back home empty handed. Pretty ridiculous. The lady that I talked to just pointed to the raggedy sign near their register that shows hours for pick up. Umm... then why does the email say I can pick up between your store hours?! And for the website - it's silly that I order something online hoping to get it shipped, but my only option is to pick it up in store. I went in this afternoon to purchase a lamp. I found the lamp I wished to buy and asked the first store associate I interacted with was I was able to take the lamp directly off the shelf or whether there was another one in the storeroom. I was told abruptly it was a display item and no I couldn't take it from shelf. He checked the store inventory and told me there was one lamp in the Seattle store and I could purchase it there. As I was in the Bellevue store, this wasn't a terribly useful option for me. I asked if I could have one shipped to me. I was told yes. A second associate came over to undertake the transaction. As my details were being taken, I was informed shipping would be $17, or I could have it shipped to the store for $25. I was shocked - an item I wished to purchase was not in stock in the West Elm Bellevue store, and I had to pay for shipping? in order to receive it. It was reiterated I could always go to the Seattle store and they'd ask the store to put the lamp to one side for me. I wouldn't expect to be able to walk out of West Elm with a dining table for example. However I do expect to walk out with a table lamp. If it isn't in stock I expect free shipping to my home or to the store. Clearly that's too high of an expectation at West Elm. read more

Just wanted to give huge kudos to the store manager Brian , he has helped us now twice where West Elm and bank that manages west elem card were absolutely hopeless. The number of screwups and false or limited information provided by customer services were just horrific. Huge kudos again to Brian - he gets 5 stars and West Elm and Bank get negative 5 stars for life. I am not surprised why others have bad reviews when is not really up to store manager but up to the company/ card that is so badly organized. This is a review on customer service. Ordered a couch in April, was told because it will be custom made will take a few months. Online tracking says delivery will be scheduled for 6/30. Called customer service several times over the past 3.5 weeks, no one seems to know where the couch is after putting a request in with the "warehouse." Gotten one call back with the useless message of " please call us back if you don't hear from us soon," which is what I've been doing already, thanks. read more

Well, looks like they changed their staff up a bit, and our second visit was fantastic! Kate helped us pick out a really great couch, and was super helpful overall! She had great style taste, helped recommend a few other products that we'll come back and buy from her. She was very attentive, and not at all pushy, really great service! Poor customer service. You need to jump through hoops to buy furniture from them. We tried to purchase a recliner and was told there were none in store that we could try out. The policy is non-refundable. Nobody took the initiative to suggest any alternatives with similar dimensions. We finally settled on what we wanted and did not have the option to opt out of delivery despite having our own transportation. The expectation is for you to buy blind, without help, despite the hurdles put in place by staff. This is a company that does not care about your business. Shop elsewhere. It's a shame because their stuff is actually pretty nice. read more

I see lots of reviews about the bad customer service, I would like to contribute to that. The people who work there are not organized, they don't even know what they are selling. I purchased a coffee table recently online in store (one of their sales people completed the transaction), I have shown her which table I want, she told me "Not sure if it is that one, but you can bring it back if it not the one". Well I received the wrong one and she didn't mention that they do not return the cost of shipping which was $30. The second time I have ordered a rug there, I asked which shipping is a better deal in store or home. The difference was like $10 only, they haven't mentioned that in store takes a month, a month to come! read more

I bought a range of things from this location (cushions, plates to a rug) and had pretty good experience, both with purchase and returns. Then I bought a custom stool from them online and things went a little south. The stool went missing in shipping somewhere. I emailed, they said they would get back to me on 3 days after investigation. I emailed again after a month. Still missing and they said we can refund or reorder. That was super disappointing as they didn't offer anything special in the way of "make it right", so I emailed back with that complaint. They then said they would mail me a coupon because of the experience. So they will respond and they were ultimately able to locate my item so I didn't have to wait another 6 weeks for a new custom order. So I'm giving them 4 stars because they did try to make things right. read more

My wife and I stopped by West Elm and bought a bench, table and chairs for our dining room. The sales associate that helped us (Stephanie) seemed to be cold and in a rush for us to decide. Needless to say, there was a miscommunication on that day (when we were told we would be able to arrange for shipping dates), and then later we were notified that the shipping dates were not for us to choose in a portion of our purchase order. The day after we figured this out, we tried to call customer service on the phone (which by the way, it's the worst possible - after 40 minutes in the phone they just hung up on me). Two days later we came back to the store and we found Brian (the store manager) in there. He is superb! He listened to the issues my wife and I had, and he went above and beyond to solve our issues. He was able to fix an issue with our delivery dates in an instant and my wife and I also saved over 100 dollars in shipping costs. I would very gladly recommend anyone coming to the Bellevue Way store and look for Brian. read more

He spent several hours at my home hanging mirrors from potterybarn, potterybarn teen etc. He has an eye for detail, a wonderful personality and I can't recommend him enough. He also gave me great advise on how to decorate other spaces in my home. He is my new go to guy! This store sucks. I live 2 blocks away and I still prefer to go to the Seattle store because they have much better customer service and selection. Last time I was in the Bellevue location there were 3 employees and no one at the register, the phone ringing off the hook and no one able to get help except the three separate people each employee was helping. Great for those three people, not so great for anyone else trying to shop. Also, every time I've come in, the store didn't have any of the items I was looking for (planter, placemats, coasters) that I'd seen online. Maybe just bad luck on my part, but it's also a really small store. Never had any issues at the Seattle location though. read more

The sales people were friendly and helpful while I was in the store however I was told that the coffee table I purchased would be delivered via white glove delivery service. This table is over 100 lbs and was delivered via UPS to my front door and now I have to put it together. I called and asked for clarification and was brushed off my Customer Service and the store manager. I sent an email to customer service indicating they should update their website regarding this table as it clearly states to be assembled via white glove delivery. They told me they have no record of my order. My point is that the sales people should be honest and the website should be accurate. Now I have to struggle to put together a ridiculously expensive table by myself. read more

The customer service here is just as bad as Seattle. I came in for curtains but spent a decent amount of time choosing new pillows, a throw, and a few mercury glass vases. Not a single person said a thing to me as I had my hands full. I'm pretty self-sufficient when it comes to choosing home goods but I was pretty infuriated when I went to the register and the woman asked who was helping me. I just left West Elm stress free for the first time in months since I began my condo furniture shopping! I have literally been to every store in Bellevue with no real help, no one really equipped to nor interested in helping someone design a furniture plan for my home. I was deflated and defeated until I walked into West Elm on Main yesterday. I was instantly greeted, and explained my big project with no idea how to make a design work that was also functional for my family. Aaron and then Ellen then both appeared and helped me design my whole bedroom and office. They are true professionals, so kind and knowledgeable. They were not pressuring me into any design scheme or price point. They are just lovely, lovely people! That made a numbers person like me feel at ease. They truly want their customers to be happy. The quality of the items at West Elm is great with a fair price point. I cannot wait for my furniture to arrive and they told me they have design services to help with decorating ideas for which I will absolutely take them up on. I cannot say enough about Aaron and Ellen for their hard work. If you go to the store and they are busy you can set up a time to meet which I did today. Would not recommend shopping at the Bellevue WA West Elm store! I received terrible customer service there when I made a purchase in May 2019. I ordered over $3,000 of furniture with the promise of delivery of the most critical items (i.e., the bed) in five business days. After six days I was told "they weren't sure when any of the items could be delivered", and then I continued to get one line of BS after the other about potential delivery dates. I finally cancelled my order, and it took me over 2 months of multiple times per week hounding them to get my money refunded. What a stressful situation. I work too hard for my income to spend it at a retailer that treats customers so disrespectfully, so I won't be shopping at West Elm ever again based on my experience at the Bellevue WA store! read more
