Our salesperson was fantastic! Very knowledgeable, experienced and patient. Thank you, Kim! Unfortunately, other things haven't held up over time as well - I'm talking service. We've been customers for maybe 25 years. We've bought and serviced a gas fireplace and several grills over the years. We ordered a new grill - great experience. Then things went downhill. Rich's no longer does its own delivery. They depend on a vendor to do the delivery, followed by a Rich's person to come up and hook it up. We scheduled the delivery for Friday. The Wednesday BEFORE the delivery the Rich's person came to do the install. He said no problem, the delivery people would do the install. Seriously? A gas grill? Friday rolls around and the grill was delivered. The delivery people didn't know how to turn the grill on to verify it was working. It wouldn't turn on. They then closed the grill lid and turned on the gas and continued to try and turn the grill on. This is dangerous. I stopped that action immediately. It took Rich's a couple of weeks to get another service person over to check the grill and verify it was installed correctly to our gas line, and make sure it was working correctly. BTW - it took 2 emails and a call to the salesperson to get the service department to respond to do the scheduling. They don't answer the phone or return calls anymore. All done with email. Sales - 5 stars. Service scheduler - 1 star. PS Great grill. read more

Had a hot tub delivery out of their Mt Vernon locations in which Richs delivery driver crashed into my house and damaged the corner of my house. Phone calls and emails have gone unanswered. Next steps are in process to secure remediations. read more

I contacted the Bellevue office for information on the new Napoleon Phantom Prestige 500 grill to replace a 12-year-old Weber Summit S-470 with a rusting cabinet frame. Michelle was invaluable and could give honest comparisons between different models and brands. The combination of cast stainless grills, sear temperature infrared side burner, rotisserie and smoker versatility, and convenient drip trays convinced me. They shipped me a pre-installed unit with a natural gas fitting within one week, and the local carrier could haul away the old grill for a small additional fee. I had two minor issues upon delivery, the cabinet was missing two side screws and the natural gas coupler did not fit our NG outdoor fitting. Michelle took care of everything and quickly arranged for one of their installers to return a few days later to install the correct cabinet screws and also able to install a reducer on our NG outlet to fit the NG coupler. The grill exceeds expectations, and I appreciate Michelle's personal attention and professional service. I highly recommend Rich's for the Home for any outdoor grill needs. read more

The service person Alissa Hansen, Has ignored our request for warranty repair On a wood-burning fireplace we purchased in November. My first email and call was to Beth Urban in early February who forwarded to Alyssa Hansen she never responded. I called her. She never responded. I emailed her and called her again. She said she couldn't find my account. I bought three or four things both from Beth Urban using my cell phone number last email was an early April 17 saying the manufacture never responded my follow up was this has to be a joke? Almost a month later, not a single phone call or email basically telling me your company could give a shit about their customer service. read more

This business price gouges its customers. Before you buy ANYTHING, price shop! And don't EVER have them service anything you may have purchased, though the tech's are proficient, the operational process is abundantly flawed. I paid almost $300.00 to have the tech tell me the power module had failed. I called the manufacturer who was able to tell me that for free. Furthermore, Rich's wanted to charge me 3X the cost I got from the manufacturer for the exact same part! Finally their communication practices are unprofessional. I purchased a wood stove from Rich's in 2023. It was a nightmare scheduling them to install it then getting them to return to paint over handprints left on vent pipe also such a hassle. We spent over 6 grand have used it very little because it still gives off a chemical odor which they said would go away after the first couple of fires it hasn't a crack developed inside the stove and I get no response from Rich's. read more

We bought a fireplace insert and the fan doesn't work, the paint is peeling off the face and we haven't had a call back from the service department after multiple attempts to reach them over the past month. We have tried the online scheduling system which is apparently an unknown method to the Rich's staff, multiple emails and many calls. We were told today someone would call us within the hour and it's still not resolved. We want the issues resolved, but apparently we aren't getting anywhere. We will never make another purchase from Rich's because of this. The lack of response from the service manager should be grounds for relieving him of his job. I ordered a custom BBQ Island from Rich's. I worked with Ryan Totten, whom was amazing to work with. Ryan listed to my requirements and came up with a custom grill by Blaze. There were some issues with the manufacture but Ryan worked with the vendor to make it correct. I bought a gas fireplace in 2018 from Rich's and thought that they were a quality company. I have changed my mind. I set an appointment for maintenance on my fireplace after I received an advertisement from Rich's. Our fireplace was making weird noises and there was soot all over our siding from the vent. The technician came out and looked at our fireplace and said it doesn't need maintenance because the glass was clean. My husband disagreed and took him outside to see the soot. The technician said it was because it was installed incorrectly and we could just put a shield in. My husband asked the technician to do that but he said he couldn't. He left without performing any of the services on the advertisement and then charged us $241.00 for nothing. This is not a reputable company and I would suggest you go elsewhere. read more

Have tried for three days to make a service appointment for my fireplace that will not come on. I was given a 1 800 number which sends me to Lynnwood, then I get forwarded to a message directing me to email the service department. I did email, and it came back as undelivered. It would be nice to get on a schedule even if I had to wait a while, but the lack of connection is very frustrating and disappointing. I have gone with a different service company, and have to wait till March to get service. I understand everyone is busy, but at least this "other" company is responds to a phone call. read more

i just had 2 gas fireplaces installed in my home. I waited 7 years before taking the plunge & I only wish I had done it sooner! The experience was terrific from start to finish. My salesperson, Kim Nielsen, was knowledgeable & very friendly. No high pressure sales pitch. She even emailed me images of potential units--what they would look like in MY SPACE. Super helpful. I had read some less than favorable reviews re install--my install was terrific! The installers were super methodical & nice, as were the electricians. The electrical work was a bit more challenging than they expected for my 1955 home, but they persevered & didn't try to gouge me. We spent nearly 20 minutes looking at furniture and not a single sales person came up to us to even say hello or ask how we were doing. There were only two other customers in the entire store and at least 6 employees. Needless to say we will never come back and will make sure to let others know they should go elsewhere. To be clear there are failures on the delivery, install, included manuals and documentation, repairs and follow up, missing pieces at delivery and at initial repair. I will forever have a bad taste and recommend any all people AVOID Rich's. This doesn't fall to just the Tacoma branch but also to their Lynnwood office where they schedule their service from. For over a month I have been waiting for their service department call and confirm a time. I was given a 1 hour window, even though they are over an hour away. I informed them they will need to bring two people as the entire Wellness Spa has to be resided, new top, and the remainder of the stairs installed. It is a down hill hike of approximately 100 yards. Nearing the end of the arrival window I receive a call that only 1 person is coming, has a bad back and is in Lynwood. It's raining, the traffic is horrible and I have wasted an entire day already. Yet here I wait. I spent 30 mins on the phone with the Manufacturer, because they provided the completely wrong manuals. I have spent countless hours trying to facilitate and coordinate delivery, install, repair and replacement. Taken time off of work yet still I am unable to get a timely response or even a single apology and we will make it up to you. Jon specifically directed his employees to not explain a bill they gave us and Jon himself would not explain the bill either. I bought a new gas fireplace from Rich's and they were great in working with me on timing. When my cabinet install was delayed, they graciously extended my installation time. The people (Kim & Kim) were very pleasant to work with. Because they use a third-party to install, I had a hard time getting the installation prep requirements exactly. My wife and I purchased 2 fireplace inserts from Rich's, just before the huge snow storms hit us this year. The weather slowed the install, but communication from the installers was EXCELLENT. They gave us a realistic time window and stuck to it. The employee who helped us, Doug, knew the products well, and did everything he said he was going to do. We had a minor problem with the remotes for our units, but a service tech came out and fixed this within a few days. I can't speak to value, as we did not shop around a great deal, but what we paid seemed to be in line with what friends paid to have theirs done. My wife and I had a great experience at Rich's. We were looking for a new fireplace and shopped around. The prices were about all the same as other places we looked in Bellevue, Issaquah, and Kirkland. We choose Rich's because they had the best customer service while we were there. Michelle answered our questions and researched the fireplace we wanted and recommended their Fireplace Extrodinaire line, which I found out was locally made in Mukilteo. They also had a nice selection of patio furniture that was much better quality than what you can find at Home Depot or Target. We also ended up buying a patio set while there. The only issue we had was trying to get the fireplace installed. The contractors Rich's hired to come by the house and take measurements could have been a smoother experience. Short story short, we were not happy with the experience. I wont go into details, but Michelle at Rich's listen to our concerns and found another contractor who we ended up liking much better. We now have a fireplace that we are enjoying and it looks a lot better than the last one we had. I saw some of the other yelp reviews on here and I can say I have not had poor customer service from Rich's. There was a slight problem and Michelle fixed it for us quickly and happily did it without hesitation. It would have been a 5 star experience if the first contractors were a bit more professional. read more

My husband and I went shopping for a new patio table as the one that we had was too big for the new house that we had just purchased. We went to Rich's and we were greeted by Michelle, the store manager. She was extremely helpful. Didn't try to sell us more than what we were needing, she helped us with colors to match what we had. She even offered to come to our house with the samples. We have been very happy with our purchases and the ease of the transactions so much that when it came time for my husband to purchase some outdoor heating for his restaurant we went right back to Michelle! read more

Here is my experience with Rich's after having purchased $17,000 dollars worth of furniture from them. 1. After you buy, they don't follow up. Don't return calls. Basically, customer service is lacking until you call several times and find one person who actually cares (Kim, thank you). 2. You pay for delivery. You sign a waiver. They send the most unprofessional delivery people who will basically destroy your house bringing your furniture in. Then when you point out, they will say "oh well, it was heavy." Edit: After escalating this matter to the owner, Rich's went above and beyond and repaired the damage to our home. Changing my review from 1 star to 5. I think the level of service you receive depends on who helps you out. If you find that the original person who helped you is unresponsive, escalate it. The owner takes customer service seriously and your matter will be resolved. To their credit, they will stand behind what they promised. In the end, they did the right thing and I am pleased. read more

What a s*** show. First let me say I get the waiting and missed delivery times. Nearly everything is delayed. However, it would be nice to be informed of the delays, not have to call. First delivery only 1/2 the order was delivered, the other 1/2 left at the warehouse. Second delivery, other 1/2 arrived, but all but 1 of the seat cushions were wrong, the fire pit could not be set up because parts were missing. Third delivery, went well everything fixed, yay. Fourth back order delivery canceled because the wrong chairs were loaded on truck. Now waiting for correct chairs to be located at the store or warehouse. Plenty of incompetence, not just delivery people, warehouse staff, but sale staff with wrong cushion numbers. For the expensive sale price, there must be better options. (Update 7/14: After posting negative review, Operations Manager delivered chairs. Nice guy and apologetic. Rich's was responsive to the review and does sell quality products, so increased to 2 star. Sorry, still so many issues to go higher. read more

If they have what you want in the warehouse, go ahead and buy it; it will be delivered promptly and efficiently. If it has to be ordered, that's a different story. The chair that was supposed to arrive in two weeks did not show up for more than six weeks, and we had to keep calling to get any information. I went to a few fire place stores before I came here and the salesperson, Adam, provided such great customer service that I decided to buy my fire place from him. I have a unique situation where my house chimney is too old and broken and Adam kindly explained to me that there is a chance that I can install a gas fireplace. He has provided me with a back up plan and am now in the process of installing the fireplace. My experience was delightful and extremely helpful. I highly recommend Adam! read more
