Worst experience of my life. Paid in full for my styling service 2 weeks in advance July 28, 2026. I had to cancel the appointment and was outside the 48 hour cancellation window by 1 hour and 40 minutes. I tried to explain that I was sick (health issues) and could not make it. They don't care and charged me full. I had to pay well in advance just to book a reservation. Yet they cannot give a person who is sick with sudden health issues a little leniency. As you can see from pictures, attached, nail services I had with them were less than satisfactory. It bears stating that the dermaplaning procedure I had was excellent. West End salon has since then bent over backwards to make sure I receive services that are commensurate with their standards. It is unfortunate that I am unable to go to Provincetown this summer (). I paid for 90 minutes of services and the nail tech provided 45 minutes. The person who ended up reducing the fee to the appropriate fee for services was not polite. There is nothing worse after what was supposed to be a spa treatment, than to be made to feel used and confronted. They knew about my online double booking instead of the $20 gel removal, and made it seem as though I had put them out when asking about not recieving a 90 min treatment. I made a review in Fresha of 4 stars, owned my mistake and their unclear directions and "Dougie" named me confused. You might end up with a Blow Out here when you only paid for a Trim Kitty. My buddy and I went here for pedicures. Probably the most fun pedicure I have ever had in my life but also the worst. And not the manicurist fault. It was a make shift pedicure. Extremely dissatisfied with the business practice at this establishment. I accidentally booked an appointment on August 23rd, thinking it was the West End Salon in Gloucester Mass. As soon as I realized I booked and paid for an appointment at the West End Salon in Provincetown Mass I tried to cancel on line, and the to ensure it was cancelled I called the Salon immediately , and spoke to a staff person who said the manager wasn't in till the next day. She said she would relay the message to him. The next day I called and he wasn't available to talk. I ask when he would be available, and was told to call at a specific time. When I did he still wasn't able to take my call, after numerous calls he finally took my call. He told me I needed to contact the web site company "Fresha" in order to settle this issue. After several emails, the company Fresha informed me that I need to get refunded by the salon directly. They would reach out and ask the Salon to honor my refund of $35, with no guarantee that would occur. As of this date 9/6, the manager has yet to return my messages nor has he refund my money. EXTREMELY POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE!!!! NEXT STEP IS TO CONTACT THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE TO REPORT THIS INFRACTION ON THIER PART. Add fuel to the fire the manager gave me miss information, that he himself should be aware of. I am an honest person, and do not like to be taken advantage of. It's the principle of the matter!!! Two years ago we had the best experience at West End Salon and Spa. So wonderful, in fact, that it was active conversation amongst us for the entire two years. This year, we sought to repeat our experience (with new folks). Two of us, the original two, popped in to the salon to say we'd be back and we loved them, when, instead of joy and welcome, we were met with rudeness and hostility. We were informed we could have the henna tattoo we were requesting for free, if we'd remove our previous reviews, and make the rest of our group remove their reviews as well because this is a "family business" and we cost them "$30,000." Yeah, okay, we are horrible people for wanting risque henna in P-TOWN. It not really the interaction itself that was so bad, it was the tone and aggression. My friend and I were actively verbally attacked for our prior reviews. Our prior FOUR STAR reviews. West End did not get our money this year (review of the awesome salon that did coming soon) and will not get our money in the future either. The owner DID send a message asking for my original review to to removed today (two years later - if it was such a problem you'd think it would take less than two years to address), which would have been well received if he'd bothered to apologize for yelling at us in his shop (but he did not). However, out of courtesy, I have removed the content in question from that original review. I was tempted to change my rating to one star, but, the fact is, my original experience was great and the entire salon should be be penalized (pun intended) for the attitude of one man. Great experience with a pedicure by Scottie. All the staff are casual, relaxed, and calm. Toes were pampered and unlikely most times I get a pedi, Scottie listened to me and cut them as short as I prefer. He took extra care to make sure all the edges were trimmed. So, personally and verbally attacking patrons that had nothing but great memories of visits there may not be in the best interests of your establishment. The staff was very fun-loving and silly. I will give you that, but the visits that followed really freaking sucked. Why are you attempting to blame the decline of your business on the public?! Take responsibility. You try to place blame on all but yourself. Let's look at the facts. There are half naked, airbrushed representatives of the salon forcing coupons upon passersby and an unlimited amount of gimmicks that are employed in high-pressured situations when people walk by the salon during their leisurely strolls down Commercial Street during their vacations. Yet you still have the nerve to accuse a group of supporters of costing you $30,000 based on reviews on Yelp?! Family business, yeah right. During the Summer every year, I take a large group of people on a wondrous journey through this amazing town filled with such creative, welcoming, and friendly people. I went here two years ago and had a great massage, so I thought I'd try it again. Sadly, the service was bad that I never even got an appointment. I stopped in around 10:00 to book a massage and was told that the massage therapists usually call in around 10:30 to set their schedules, and that they would call me then. I saw this salon on an episode of Tabatha's Salon Takeover" sometime ago, and I said I wanted to go here when we had the opportunity to go to P-town. The opportunity came up and here we are in P-town. I then find out the salon is literally just steps away from the resort I am staying. BONUS, so I thought. I arrived at the entrance with great anticipation of seeing this salon because it was featured. I didn't have an appointment, but I am here for a week so I was prepared to have to come back at a later time. I just wanted to get my name in and know I was going to be able to get my hair cut. I got to the counter and spoke to the woman behind the desk, I ask if I could get an appointment for a haircut? She looked on a camera that was facing a white board that had times and names on it. She told me to go downstairs and put my name on the whiteboard for 11:30. It was 11:00 and I was thrilled that I could get in so quick. The wait was fine because I was just next door. I went downstairs and was pleased by how nice the place looked. I noticed the white board and Dennis looked up from a client he was working on. I explained that I was sent down to put my name on the board for 11:30. Dennis was visually not pleased by me saying that. He said "Well, I guess I'm not getting my break"! I said I can come back another time and he replied "No, put your name down". I put my name down and said thank you. I left the salon feeling like I just ruined someone's day. I went to the deck and saw my brother who was sitting out in the sun. I said I got an appointment, he was the one the found the salon for me. I explained the whole event to him. He was dismayed as well. Then I went online and found SNIPS. I called to try and make an appointment, they were busy so I walked to the salon. It was maybe 5 minute walk. I got inside and am so glad that I got such shitty reception from Dennis. Had Dennis not said what he said I never would have gotten into SNIPS. I should have gone there from the start. I was "pampered" and made to feel that I was important and time was NOT brought up. I didn't say anything about my experience with this salon. I just wanted to share my own story. I thought because the salon had some publicity from this show, it is probably a really great place. I was fooled. But, again I never would have gotten to SNIPS. OK, absolutely LOVE Scottie! BEST MAKE UP EVER! No joke! He's funny, super helpful and every single picture I took I look fabulous thanks to him! Go Scottie!! Hair, however, not so much. The stylist (Stacey) that helped me was rough and braided my hair like a 7 year old. Scottie could see I was unhappy and took it upon himself to speak with Dougie to get it fixed since I had a wedding to go in the next few hours. Dougie said to come upstairs to have it fixed WITH THE SAME GUY THAT MESSED UP IN THE FIRST PLACE!! At that point I just let him do his thing knowing that I would have to do something about it before the ceremony. He tied my braid with this HUGE black elastic, claiming he didn't have any small ones. What kind of hair stylist does not have a decent hair elastic?? Luckily I was able to fix my braid back at the hotel before the ceremony and saved the day. So, if you need make up go see Scottie, he's the man!! And the only reason I'm giving 4 stars. But I would not recommend Stacey to my worst enemy. read more

He isn't afraid of your body like a lot of massage therapists seem to be. Easily one of the best massages I have ever had. On the other hand I had a friend get a pedicure and it was horrible. As a child I had always gone to the West End Salon with my mother. But as I got older and rebellious I went to various other places. A couple weeks ago, I made a spur of the moment decision to get my roots touched up, but couldn't get an appointment at my regular salon. I called the WES and asked if they could fit me in (this was 7pm at night). The man on the phone told me to come in at 9pm. When I did, the place was packed with people getting henna tattoos. My hair was done by Sandra Ladenburger. She made me feel very comfortable, and talked with my the entire time. It has been over 6 months since I have gotten my hair dyed. I have been dying it blonde since for about 5 years, and hate it when my roots grow in. But I also hate how it always costs over 100 dollars to get it dyed, so I try to wait as long as I can stand it. I informed her that the last time I had gotten my hair done they burnt through my skin, so she was very very cautious. She put various lotions and oils onto my hair and skin to protect it, which made a big difference. She clearly knew what she was doing. The whole procedure took about an hour (I was expecting at least 2!). I saved a lot of money by not getting it cut, or blow dried. When my hair is wet you really can't tell the color, so I had no idea if she did a good job or not! The next day when I woke up and looked in the mirror, my hair was PERFECT. In the past 5 years of getting expensive dye jobs, this was by far the best one I have ever received, and at a fraction of the price! I completely trust Sandra with my hair, and can't wait to go back in a couple months to get it dyed again!! read more

In my opinion, they are long over due for a makeover! The inside of the salon is dated and they are expensive. $25.00 for a soso men's manicure is crazy! My time at the West End Spa was the highlight of a 5 day R&R trip spent in P-Town. The owner Dougie was warm and friendly without being overbearing. I had a full body salt scrub with Scottie and my 70 year old skin feels like velvet! Scottie also gave me the bar none best facial I've ever had. Scottie is a true professional, up on everything new and improved in the skin care biz. He is a magician! My face, neck and decollete have not looked this well in 30 years! I walked past the West End Salon - it seemed friendly and had a few people in there - it's a very small shop (until I walked in). They took me right away - the owner Dougie Freeman cut and colored my hair - I am VERY satisfied - with his work and the whole experience. Staff was friendly and very attentive - they offered me cappuccino! Dougie asked me what I wanted and LISTENED - not my usual experience with hairdressers. He gave me his opinion and I listened and I am glad I did. Also, it turns out they do massage, facials and some other spa treatments downstairs in a very nice, calming setting.
