I was asked by one of the young girls at check out to join the TJ Max membership rewards program. I said sure. Answered a few basic questions...then she said I was approved and my card would arrive in mail. Ummm what? I asked if she just signed me up for a credit card and she was like "yeah it's a credit card"...That's not what she said or implied, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to do that. When I told her that's not what I wanted, she said "it's ok, you can cancel when you get it". It's actually NOT okay. Next time I was in there it was same girl and another one same age being so short and unhelpful when I said I had a gift card....then they were speaking spanish and laughing and rolling their eyes, it seemed as if they were talking about me and other customers and other people working. It's very off putting, their attitudes. Not welcoming at all.

Whether you're looking for professional-looking attire or workout gear, TJ's has you covered. They carry name brands (and some designer brands like Jones New York, DKNY, Calvin Klein, etc.) Same situation with handbags and accessories. Sure, that Michael Kors bag hasn't been in Macy's for about a year, but what the hey, it's now 40-50 percent off! If you don't mind being a season behind, you can really score on clothes and accessories. They are generally free of defects, and are just overstock from department stores. Don't miss their luggage, fragrance/bath/skincare and jewelry sections, either, as you'll find some incredible bargains there, too. I'm a little disappointed with this location's shoe selection. It's the same shoes season after season, year after year. The inventory isn't changed up nearly as often as the ther sections. And that's sad, because in this one respect, TJ's is always the same place twice. I would love it if they started carrying men's shoes, but I am pretty sure none of the locations do. (They do, however, have a great men's clothing department that's almost as big as the women's clothing department.) One of my favorite sections is the back of the store, which contains home goods, cooking supplies, and gourmet groceries. It's always worth a look!

I think the mall would do better if it had a full scale restaurant or something of that sort. Seems like there's plenty of land to do that with and with a premium freeway location it's puzzling why mall management hasn't tried to attract one. Who knows? I'd stop there again due to the Nike store not being too crowded but not sure that I would go anywhere else.

There wasn't too…read moremany stores though, so we ended up walking down Broad St which runs parallel to Chestnut St toward the aquarium and popping in very few places (Moonpie General Store and a candy store). The Classic Arcade Pinball Museum had a ridiculous entry fee. Stopped at Pinkberry for some froyo just before it closed for the day. The Umbrella Alley photos were fun though.

The Oxford Exchange is a shopping center located right off I-20 in Oxford, Alabama, which is about…read morehalfway between Birmingham and Atlanta. Sam's Club is right next door, and across the street you can find a Publix and Panera Bread. I'm giving four stars because this is as good as it gets, considering the area. Your only other choice for shopping in the Oxford/Anniston area is the Quintard Mall. While they offer different stores, the Quintard Mall is a lot older and run down, which makes shopping at the Exchange the better option if you have to choose. There are several stores here, including Target, Best Buy, TJMaxx, Kohl's, Old Navy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Petsmart, Rackroom Shoes, Kirkland's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Hobby Lobby, Lane Bryant, Ross, Dressbarn, Merle Norman, and a few more. If you're hungry, you can go to Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, Golden Corral, Mexico Lindo, or Arby's. There's also a 49 degrees (frozen yogurt) and a Dunkin' Donuts.
