My son has been using Snow White Cleaners ever since he started Medical School at UTMB in 2012…read more Whenever I come to town I'll sometimes drop off or pick up his dry cleaning for him since he works crazy long hours and can't often get there with his schedule. They have provided consistent and reliable dry cleaning services going on 10 years. They are friendly and professional and the prices are fair. Conveniently located at the corner of Church and University Blvd, near UTMB.

UPDATE. Sept, 12th ---since neither location has my name/number....I (the customer) decided to call…read moreto see if they found my slip; they DID! No explanation given. ---------------- Came after 5pm as advised to pick up dress that I spoke of yesterday (review below this one from September 6th) I get there at 535p. (didnt check dress at store) I get to 25th street and notice the inside slip is missing, so I haul arse back. I get there at 545p...(close at 6pm) Maria looked for my slip through the clothes that were returned today from Quality cleaners; didn't find it...then sat down and told me to go to the other location. NICE! I said, but Maria I just handed the dress to your daughter yesterday afternoon with slip in tact, are you sure it's not laying around here somewhere? "Those slips/linings are not very secure and fall off easily." Ummm, well, I guess if a person pulled on it hard enough, sure. (which I have done. I pulled on this slip after I purchased it thinking it would snap off but, nope) So, I rush to the other location before they close. GUESS WHAT? they didn't have it either! NEITHER LOCATION had the slip to my dress. NEITHER LOCATION asked for my number in case it shows up. What? WHY?!! Not only did I pay $12 for this casual cotton eyelet dress, I now have to go buy a slip. --------------------- Been coming here for almost 5 years; because believe it or not; it's the cheapest I could find on this island And by cheaper I mean you can get 10 pcs dry cleaned for $25 ...LOL!! What a bargain, huh? That lasted a year...now, its $30!!! The dry cleaning business in Galveston is THRIVING... For instance, today I brought them ONE casual summer dress to dry clean...what y'all think I paid? $5, $7....HECK NO....$11.90 (w/tax) UNBELIEVABLE! One eyelet cotton dress! Sooo, the 1 star is for prices not service ***they do a good job*** NOTE---UTMB gets a discount ASK because they not forthcoming with that info

Do.not.use.this.place…read more I went here to drop off some laundry. No one works at the front - instead you're supposed to talk to the guy watching law and order in the back. Could've used some signage but fine. He said to just leave it on the counter. Okay - I figure I'll just come back and they'll recognize me. Cool and casual. I come back, two days later to give them plenty of time, and I'm told my laundry was thrown out. It's my fault that I didn't know I had to go next door and leave my number with the gas station. I wasnt told this and there are no signs telling you what to do. They tell me that they can get the clothes out of the dumpster and wash them. Fine, I believe in second chances. I leave my number next door and head out. They don't call me the next day like they said they would. I call both numbers listed and they don't answer. I drive back there, go straight to the gas station and ask for my clothes. 35 dollars for what couldnt have been more than 14 pounds of clothes( they advertise 99c a pound). I don't even bother disputing what should've been a freebie or discount after all the hassle. Bonus : my clothes were being stored in a dirty locked bathroom, and the guy working the laundry wasn't wearing a mask the first time I came in - so I might as well get them all cleaned again.

I have to say, it's hard to rate the Washateria, how do you give a star rating as long as the…read moremachines work, the dryers dry, and you're clothes don't come out shredded. It's not the stores responsibility who visits the place. It may have some control of how much capacity it has to cool a room filled with driers. But after that it's mostly, are the machines maintained, and are the machines cost effective and open. I have to give a big thumbs up to this place because it is 24 hour. (Nope, a period isn't enough, triple exclamation point- !!! - that's what that deserves.) Big Thumbs Up On Being 24 Hour!!! Also the machines are pretty new, and that's good, and they have multiple settings beyond HOT - WARM - COLD, like hot, warm, and cold - delicates; as well as extra wash or extra rinse or both. The dryers are big, and maybe too big, because if you have a 2 load wash, (also nice because most places don't have the small 2 load machines, the dryer size is almost comically oversized. And I think I waste money using them. Also - they need an attending person there to monitor behavior. Especially later at night. I think a homeless dude was doing some tiny loads 1 at a time to find a place to stay the night, he took a nap on the table, and I think this was his shelter from the cold light rain. He did seem to get booted out at some point, but I don't know if he was kicked out by management or a customer or he just ran out of quarters. But other than the sleeping on a table, he wasn't bothering anyone. One more thing, because it is so convenient/the only option for those who work late, and need something cleaned by tomorrow, at midnight, it's still packed with people, and I wish they had a way to assign people to different machines, because it can be hectic where you have to use 3-4 solo machines that are spread out all over the store and monitor that if you are doing a load it's not opened or messed with. I was kind of hovering between the machines I found open, because I didn't want what happened to me at another store where someone added bleach to my underwear load de-dying all the color out of them In the end, this is now my go to washmat for Galveston 24/7, and late night place, if I miss last load times in the Clearlake/Texas City area. One wish - some guidance on how long the dryers take could really help, it's hard to tell if they are done in 30 mins or 45, or 1:00 hour. Also, number them so you can remember what machines to check, knowing that you are in 10, 15, 17, and 34 would save some anxiety when you are seeing someone pull a load out next to or where you thought your load was, and also, you won't miss a machine that you forgot about. Also, some kind of assignment system might save an otherwise open machine from sitting holding a wet load for 3:00 hours while the user forgets about it. And you would have their number to call and say, "want your clothes?"
