We first came to Dr. Koo nine years ago when my daughter needed oral surgery. He was very responsive to questions and issues then, and nothing has changed in the practice since then in that regard. His staff give detailed instructions for post-surgical care so you know how to take care of yourself when you leave their office.

The wait time is very long, so don't expect your time to be valued by them, and they know it because they have timers on the door. The office could use some updating as well. At our consultation, Dr. Koo was accommodating and supportive of the plan we had created, however upon my second visit he completely backtracked and changed the plan. I do not prefer anyone but an anesthesiologist to be put to sleep and will never use a dental provider as one again. The IV bag hung from a string in the ceiling, the surgical suite was cold and dark and I had to reconfirm several times which tooth we were removing. They were very cold and not personable after surgery either. The days that followed were terrible.. I called a few times to inquire about some recovery questions and was met with disrespect like I was an inconvenience to the staff. I also had to wait over an hour or more for my post op appts, and spent MAYBE 10 mins with Dr. Koo when he finally came in. The surgical site is still not the best. Overall, He was very dismissive and seemed very distant after surgery, I'm not sure if he even desires to provide good care or just wants you in and out.. I did not return for the implant and will not. Always do your due diligence when looking for any kind of healthcare professional, it will save you a lot of mistreatment.

But rest assured when you leave this place, you will have forgotten about why you were there. It's entertainment from start to finish. Dr. Clark and his Asst. Sherrie are 'THE BOMB'. Never once throughout the entire process was I uncomfortable or in any kind of pain outside of my side hurting from laughing. You have to ask Sherrie about that spider bite. :) Great staff. We decided I needed to be sedated during the extraction The day of the surgery I was a little nervous but the nurses made sure I was comfortable and calm before Dr. Johnson did the procedure. I literally didn't feel anything and I don't remember any of the extraction. That's a great thing. The procedure was fast and painless. The staff provided educational videos about the procedure and conducted an exam to plan the best approach. Dr. Mahmood kindly explained each step of the process to ensure I understood everything. I chose to proceed with local anesthesia and opted out of the Exparel injection at the end of the surgery. I scheduled my surgery for two weeks later and received thorough instructions beforehand. On the day of the procedure, it lasted about 30 minutes; one wisdom tooth was more complex and took a bit longer. The recovery was smooth, with no significant pain or swelling, thanks to careful adherence to the medication schedule. Five days post-surgery, I noticed only a small hematoma in a facial area. I am very grateful to Dr. Mahmood, the assistants, and the entire staff for their excellent care and support throughout this process.

The office is very COVID safe: not allowing guests in waiting rooms, monitoring temperatures, staff wearing face shields. For the procedure, I chose to go under and it was a very quick procedure (less than an hour). I only had to clamp down on the gauze for 1 hour afterwards and the bleeding disappeared. I didn't have any pain afterwards and didnt need any pain medication! I was back to eating solid food within 5 days. The office provides you with a specific syringe that you can spray into the holes left behind by the teeth to clean out any food debris stuck in the holes which was very helpful! The staff also call on you to check up and are very responsive to any questions. Dr. Mahmood is also very personable. Honestly, the most seamless experience ever, I couldn't rate any higher.

My first check-up consisted of 4 parts: First, a sit down consultation, with a staff member, asking what I wanted to do with my teeth. Second, I was escorted to a dentist chair for not only x-rays, but high definition pictures of my mouth. X-rays and photos where taken from all angles. (photos are used to evaluate tooth and gum health) Everything is explained to me, so I can understand what is going on. Third, I go over to the dental hygienist's chair for my cleaning. Lastly, I spoke with the dentist as we looked at the photos and x-rays. We talked about the concerns and questions I brought up in the consultation. Talked about what I wanted to do with my teeth and the most urgent problem areas that I needed worked on first. I have already recommended him to friends. Down side for me is I have a new insurance which makes him out- of -network. I'm in the process of finding an in-network dentist, but I don't think I will find one as good as him and his staff.
