This review is for the diner inside the bowling alley. I'd give them a 3.5 but there are no .5s so I'll round up. I had missed their amazing turkey dinner twice so I was determined to try it out. Had been highly recommended. It just didn't quite live up to the hyped up reputation. I would recommend asking for the gravy on the side. The mashed potatoes and stuffing were average. I think the turkey was a a little spongy. I also spit out fat twice. Maybe it was just a bad day. I actually came the day before and had ribs. Those were better. My standards may have been inflated because of the hype from a friend's Father but he is in his 80s. I should have known better. It's decent but it didn't hit the spot. Here on a Sunday evening and the older white lady that bartends here is absolutely rude and will flat out ignore you when you go up to the bar to get service. Why is she in customer service if she doesn't want to serve anyone. She is just awful. Pathetic. read more

don't go to the bar worse service ever. worker walked up to us said we needed ID to play pool, so we drove all the way home got the ID just for her to not ask for it when we came back and didn't ask anyone else for their ID. I know we look young but we are over 21. Then we went to play pool and they didn't have the white ball, security went to look and couldnt find it so told us to wait for the lady to come back inside after she sat outside chain smoking. He asked her for the spare ball and she said "i don't know, oh well they just can't play". She was rude and acted like she was on some high horse. We had to get our money back and play with random balls because they tables were all taken. Every time I go to this place the bowling area is always nice staff and friendly but the bar is a different story. The older woman with the short hair and glasses in the diner is extremely rude and unhelpful. She seemed bothered just by us walking in. Stood around for a few minutes before bringing us menus. No customer service skills what so ever. We had to wave someone else down to ask for napkins. Never offered a refill. The food was decent and not a bad price for a bowling alley. We played a couple games after eating and the older man at the counter was pleasant enough. I would bring my family in again but probably have lunch else where before hand. read more

I been going to the diner for about 10 years now. All the female waitresses are great and polite. The food for a bowling alley is surprisingly excellent and love the homemade soups. I love the turkey specials and area is very clean. The only serious knock is a waiter named Robbie. The man is rude, condescending, not attentive and when ask for simple requests makes it difficult and seems to do so on principle and make a loyal customer happy. When I see Robbie working I turn around and walk out. I was told by a waitress other customers do the same when they see him working. Not your grandpa's bowling alley! This is a bowling center that is happening! Been going here for years. Not my home center but for tournaments and match club events. It is well run and always filled and fun. Yesterday, I was there for Granada Match Club hosted by Stockton Match Club. Always friendly, I continue to enjoy my visits here. From stepping in the two door set, you can see a clean and inviting place. The Pro Shop is to your right and stocked well (not everyone's is). Left to the bar area (not a drinker for not usually found there but it is large). The staff is knowledgeable and welcoming at the front counter. 38 lanes were all filled in the morning due to a youth tournament. I miss those with my kids as they grow up in the great NorCal youth programs. The restaurant has been top notch for many years. A variety of food that is well made. I usually have a chef salad which is huge. Yesterday I elected for a ham and cheese omelette with hash browns and an English muffin. Wonderful. Food quality has never gone wrong in all my years visiting. Located on a West Lane, a busy Stockton road for sure, they have a large parking lot in front so never an issue finding a spot. While the lot is wearing, the classic Bowl sign is retro (back in again) and a comforting marker of tradition. Inside, is not your old bowl...it is fresh, lively, and lovely. read more

My cousins and I decided to go bowling on Tuesday afternoon and surprisingly, the alley was half full! The service was quick to get our lane and food however. The lane was easy to get set up and we had no issues during our playing time. I like that they offer to pay by the hour or by the game. Since we were a small group of 4 players, paying by the hour worked best for us! We were able to play about 5.5 games in 2 hours. Ordering food was pretty easy. They have several menus at the counter to pick up and look through or you can sit in one of their diner style booths or bar to dine. The elderly lady wasn't the nicest and she was a bit confused when handing out our order. I tried to grab my food and she told me it wasn't mine and grabbed it back, but then I noticed she was trying to hand me someone else's order and when the other customer came up to get their order, the elderly lady was very confused on why we were telling her our items were incorrect. I had their California burger, which was pretty standard for a bowling alley. The party was a bit dry and the avocado wasn't very soft, but they did provide plenty of avo! The nachos were okay as well - needed a lot more cheese and we were missing the sour cream that said would be added. The best seller was the sampler basket we got - onion rings, zucchini bites, mozzarella sticks and criss cut fries. The portions were just a bit off, we only had 3 onion rings. We ordered drinks from the bar too, and they were reasonable. About $11 for a cocktail that's like 16oz? The drinks were poured well too - didn't taste skimpy on the alcohol. Worst experience ever. I entered with my 3 children no greeting no hospitality nothing. Sat for 10 mins no one came over but came over as soon as a 2 top got Sat right next to me. Natalie or her coworker who refused to give her name straight up ignored us and went on to the next customer. I have a non verbal autistic child who stims and I'm absolutely positive that is why no one came to help us. That's disgusting. Natalie and your lil coworker should both be ashamed of yourself. I haven't been to this bowl in over a year so I was excited to go, I loved the food in the restaurant. However, this time, as I walked in there was a smell of weed in the air, not sure if that is the norm or what but I didn't want to stay very long. Watched one set of the tournament that was going on and then I left. I had the garlic bread and fries for snack. We come in and ask simple questions or request to have something while on our lanes and he always has a rude smart remark as an answer. He has the worst attitude and customer service. We decided to have a family fun night on Saturday/it was my son-in-law, my son and my nephew's birthday. Yes they're all a bit older so no need to have a party. We changed it into a family fun night and I can say bowling is not something we all choose to do but we had an amazing time together and amazing customer service. Thank you West lane bowl. The food is exactly what you expected to be greasy flavorful disgusting outright yummy goodness heart attack on a plate. And the waitresses there man such sweethearts my husband and I used to just go there to hang out at the bar, but I had a bloody Mary last night. It tasted like ass water not that I really know what ass water taste like, but I would assume it tasted like my bloody Mary Other than that it was perfect for a family fun night. If you're trying to figure out something cheap and fun to do for a pretty big family check this place out you most likely will not be disappointed. Unfortunately we dealt with a lot on our visit. I brought my youth church group here and although I admit it was my first time doing this their customer service was not up to par I was allowed to pay $6 for the before 6pm price which was amazing. However as we had more than expected to show and tried to pay for more is where HELL broke lose. It took over an hour despite me writing out how I wanted my lanes to be (6 per lane max) however the bearded guy at the counter refused to understand and tried to persuade me to pay for 6 more ppl instead of transferring lanes We wanted 4 lanes and was willing to pay the extra $1! However after constant back and forth and him calling security to stand by his side we received 3 lanes. I understand business so if you wanted the extra lanes that's fine but you could've pushed us to the corner so the ONE lane to the left that was left wasn't bowling next to 5-10 yr olds but hey! AFTER ALL OF THAT HONESTLY HIM CALLING MY KIDS FROM MY YOUTH GROUP "THEM PEOPLE" ON THE INTERCOM WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF POCKET!!!!!!!!!!! I do social media and was willing to do a free video to promote their IG(97 followers) however the service was horrendous and I will never return or recommend this place. If you're looking for a decent spot to meet up with some friends and bowl, you can't go wrong with West Lane Bowl. The parking lot is a little sketchy and I came in the day time so I can't vouch for how it is at night these days. It isn't the best of the best of bowling alleys but it now has a touch screen controller and is as clean as most bowling alleys are. At the time I went(Wednesday afternoon) all of the balls were neatly organized by weight and the reception was quick and efficient. The prices have definitely gone up over the years but is still reasonably priced compared to others in the area. One gripe is that there's no center table in the lanes to stuff your shoes in so you just need to tuck them under your seats. There's a bar and mini restaurant inside too in case you're hungry/thirsty, though this time I didn't check either out. read more

Literally the crappiest service ever. I had issues with 3 lanes/scoring not working, I politely used the intercom to ask for help. He moved me from lane to lane, nothing worked, then completely stopped helping me. So after waiting a few minutes I walked up to the front desk to see what the issue was or how it could be fixed and he immediately started placing blame on us saying "well, what did you guys do?" I said we are just bowling, he then says "what did you guys touch?" And rolls his damn eyes. So much damn attitude. I called him out for his unprofessionalism. 4 solid stars for this bowling alley. This bowling alley's outward appearance may steer you away especially with its sketchy parking lot. But don't be fooled, because the inside is a whole lot nicer. It's definitely an older alley but there has been remodeling done inside to keep it up to date. The parking lot is huge and doesn't look very safe, but luckily nothing happened to my car while I was there. It was also reassuring to see that there were cameras in case anything did happen and that the employees could watch from what was going on in the parking lot on the screen inside. The first thing I noticed when walking in, we're all the pictures of the people who have bowled a perfect 300. It was really fascinating to see pictures dated back to when the alley first opened around 1960! Within the bowling alley is a bar and dining area which is nice to grab a quick bite at (I didn't eat anything there so I'm not sure how the food and drinks are). The bowling lanes and bowling balls looked well maintained. There were a lot of bowling balls to choose from which is always nice. The main reason I chose to try this location over Pacific Bowl was because of their happy hour offer. During their happy hour, games are only $2.00 which is completely worth it. The place was pretty empty too which was nice since most groups didn't have to bowl directly next to each other which meant that you didn't have to wait for each other to bowl (bowling etiquette!). I haven't been in since October and had excellent service then thank you for keeping your word and improving the service. My family and I went in Thursday for breakfast which was amazing but the short waitress in all black and young girl with short hair very tiny pretty girl wasn't very friendly maybe just a bad day but we asked about a few employees because we haven't seen them for a while we usually go in and bowl on Saturday nights too and eat at the diner very ofter best food around, but I was Infomed the employees didn't work at the bowling alley anymore and too them long enough to fire her. I felt that wasnt her business to tell but actually so very unprofessional. She was going to keep telling the employees business but my children were with me so I asked if I could finish my breakfast please. I don't other employees shouldn't be able to tell customers things like that, I don't want any trouble for the employees just wanted to inform someone, seemed like they wanted a gossip fest. The old Caucasian man at the front desk is racist. He didn't acknowledge us at the front desk, literally ignored my party until it was time to pay, we were celebrating a birthday party and he rolled his eyes as soon as we walked in with balloons and stated he couldn't turn on the fans because the balloons would get caught mind you the balloons had 3 pounds weights on them to prevent them from flying away he argued with me made it seem like if he turns them on we would need to pay for the fans if they malfunction. Me and my gf are chaperoning our sister and her friends so we go to the front counter so we can play our own game of 2 ppl on one lane. Guy with white hair and white beard says there's a 45 minute wait since there's pro bowlers and by the time that 45 minutes is up, the place would close... pretty convenient for him. We look down at the lanes and see a good 8 of them open. Whatever, we'll go somewhere else since he clearly didn't want to deal with us. Pretty hard to give us some shoes and trade that for some money but I get it, it takes a lot of energy. We're deciding what to do at this point and the same guy then asks us how many in our group, like he's now trying to accommodate us, like TF? we tell him it's groups of 2 and 5 on two lanes. He says I can only fit 6 on 1 lane... how hard is it to put us on lanes when there are so many open? incompetent. don't be sorry, be better read more

On the outside it looks like there isn't much and at night it's a bit dark, but once you enter the bowling alley, it is lit up very nicely and there are many lanes for bowling. Overall the place looked really clean and the people were really nice. I would definitely come back here and bowl again. You can check out their specials throughout the week and it is relatively inexpensive which I love. Also, if you're a student, they offer student discounts which is very sweet of them. We got our lane really quickly and was able to enjoy two games throughout the night. When we ran into a problem with our lane though, they had someone come by in less than a few minutes to help us fix it. read more

Please be advised that I am not from Stockton. This is my first time going to a bowling alley here in Stockton, CA. My younger sister, who lives here, always spoke great things about this alley because it's her usual hang out spot because they have food and long hours for the bar. Supposedly, they don't close until 1 am. Six of my friends and I traveled all the way from central and northern California to hang out with my sister at this bowling alley to enjoy the bar. However, after 2-3 hours of our 4 pitchers. They refused to sell us anymore alcohol. Mind you, my crowd are not those wild loud, and rude crowd, so I went up the bar and asked if they're were closing and why is it that we are being limited to our last two pitchers? The bartender spoke rudely to me and said, "This will be your last two pitchers. Y'all all had enough for the night. I'm nice enough to still give you 2 more." After grabbing the final two pitchers of Coors Light, I returned to the table and informed my friends on the situation. We weren't seeking problems; we were simply trying to drink our beer and leave. However, they decided to dim the lights out in the bar area and sent over the security guy to start cleaning up our area and telling us that they were closing early. By now, it's only 9:45 pm, and I am a bit upset, I felt like they were discriminating against us. We've been cordial the whole entire time. Minding our own business and not even inflicting any issue against them. Of course, as a human, I left without finishing my beers. I officially left by 10 pm upset because they were discriminating against us. The way they dehumanize people here to their own conveniencing of leaving early is unjustified. We all work hard in life to enjoy time off and catch up in life. I believe if you're unhappy working at the bar and want to leave early from work, this is not the employment for you. Been coming here my whole life, will always love this place for childhood memories with my grandparents on the leagues, but the guy they had working the front desk today (1.30.2022) around 3:00 had a super negative attitude, flat out ignored me twice. Heavy set Filipino guy. And wouldn't even turn the bumpers on for my 12 y/o 2nd time - 1st time was years ago - bowling. Guy needs some training on attitude and customer service big time. And it wasn't just me. I heard the bowlers next to me complaining about him. Will come back but it won't be for the fun family vibes it used to have. We planned to have our son's birthday here on New Year's Day. I called and asked if we were able to bring pizza and cake. The rude guy who answered said I could ask long as I cleaned up the mess, which I stated I would. We show up pizzas in hand and we're told we couldn't bring outside food and that we had to order there. I understand there is rules but it's not fair to us since I called ahead of time to make sure I was able to bring food and was told I could. I spent at least $75 on all the pizza I brought. On top of the extra $100 I had to spend buying the food there for our party. And all I got was one free game of bowling??? This is crazy and Rob wasn't very helpful either. Not sure if he's the manager but you think he would at least made it right. Times are hard for everybody and do you think I had an extra $100 to just spend on food that I had already spent on originally? Wasn't expecting to get our food for free but you think they would have withheld at least the shoe rental fees for our four kids that were bowling. Very poor customer service. The cafe has the rudest people on earth or maybe it was just that one. Anyway, it was fifteen minutes to closing and we wanted a water refill for our pitcher. I asked a friend of mine to go get it because she was pretty nasty while I was ordering so I asked him to go thinking maybe I just rubbed her the wrong way... NOPE. She straight yelled at him while she was sitting down at the counter, "I'm already closed!" My poor friend, who I never heard curse, sure did when he came back to the table. They weren't closed. She was pretty set on not serving anyone and was not shy about being an animal with horns about it. I wonder where she'll go after she's dead? I'm betting on some place hot. read more
