He couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. He showed us the gear he had on special order, made some recommendations on where to explore in the area, and helped us get our camping fuel long after his store closed. I really don't have a big complaint about the store itself - the selection is decent and most of the staff are pretty friendly and offer to help when they see you. My big complaint is their sales ads which I receive via email several times a week. They put the same items on sale month after month, and the discounts are sometimes so insignificant they're not worth paying attention to. When they do offer some "hot buy" at a great price you'll find that they have zero inventory at the local store and it won't be available for shipping ( it happened to me today). I'm sure they intentionally do this to get you in the store in the hopes that you'll buy something different because the item you came for is not in stock or can't be ordered. It's basic bait and switch tactics which is just insulting. I find myself buying more and more online which I lothe to do but when I can order the same items online from a store that actually has the items in stock for a cheaper price, and they generally arrive the next day, it's too easy. If Sportsman's Warehouse wants to keep my business they need to play straight and not waste my time.

I called and easily booked a guide for a one day float trip on the Sacramento River. We drove up from Livermore and spent the night in Redding and showed up at the Fly Shop the next morning to meet our guide Shane. Although I own enough fly fishing gear myself to stock a small store I didn't want to lug it all on the plane but Shane provided all the gear we needed - rods, reels, flies etc. I asked Shane to focus on my grandson and he was a big help in upgrading my grandson's skills. He hooked numerous rainbow trout and landed a few which were carefully handled and released by Shane.
