When we returned with a kid with a broken wrist (through no fault of the boat company or anything like that) they were so compassionate. They helped us unload the boat, told us not to worry about anything and to go take care of our son. Wonderful company, can't recommend them enough! There are several small lakes, one of which has a beach and other activities such as paddle boats. There are two different entrances to the park, which helps spread visitors out on really busy days like weekends. On the Secchia Meadows side, there is a nice pavillon where my friends had their wedding. I highly recommend Millennium Park for anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors, spotting creatures such as deer, turtles, muskrats, eagles, and more.

So when I stepped…read moreup to the check-in counter at Millennium Park Boat Rentals, the thoughts in my head were: Wow! It only costs $8 per hour to rent a kayak? Sweet! Wow! These people checking me in and telling me safety information are incredibly young! Will they be able to save me and my family if our kayaks flip over and we fall into the lake? Wow! What a beautiful day! But I wonder how often people fall into the lake. I also wonder how deep the lake is. I also wonder if it's possible to be trapped underwater if your kayak flips over. In the end, I decided to kick it on the sandy beach and wave at my family as they happily paddled on the lake. They had a great time kayaking. I had a great time not kayaking. Like Hot Chocolate says: Everyone's a winner, baby. Kayaks are either single-person or double, and we used one of each. There are very few instructions given, which was a little alarming to me. (You mean you just assume we know what we're doing?!) But fortunately, my family knew what they were doing, so they didn't need much instruction to get themselves out on the water. As you paddle around the lake, you pass the Millennium Park beach and splash pad, plus little islands here and there. There is about four miles of shoreline to explore. I was told that the lake was nice and calm, and that it was a pleasant time on the water. We rented kayaks, but Millennium Park Boat Rentals also offers canoes, paddle boats and stand-up paddle boards to rent. Keep in mind that rentals are seasonal -- this place is only open from Memorial Day-ish to Labor Day-ish.

We enjoyed the ride as the Aquastar escorted the USS Silversides out of the Muskegon channel, on it's way to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin for a major renovation project. This was the first time the Silversides has left it's Muskegon home since 1987! What an amazing experience it was! I can't say enough about the Aquastar owner Patrick's hospitality, and the crew were all amazing as well! We have sailed on the Aquastar many times before and always enjoy the ship's clean and well designed accommodations. the bar is perfect for a 2+ hour cruise, great selection of drinks and snacks at affordable prices. Plenty of comfortable seating on both decks. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the generosity and support of many charities that Patrick (Owner) and the Aquastar team get behind. I did a Special Olympics fundraising cruise a while back and they gave back a portion of the ticket sales, plus provided Captain's hats and free rides for all of the Special Olympics athletes! This really says a lot about their integrity, love and commitment to the surrounding communities! Thank You Team Aquastar for another fantastic experience and for so many great memories. To anyone reading this, Aquastar has several cruises daily, including a gorgeous sunset cruise and many special events. However, The waves were a little too rough and we weren't able to go out onto lake Michigan so we circled around the mouth of the channel, that was a little disappointing, but still it was a Good Cruise. A little information about the ships we were passing and some of the landmarks would have been very nice.

I just called the Holland Store to ask about if they carried a product that I needed before I drove…read morethe 45 minutes to the store. The associate that answered the phone was beyond rude and unprofessional. When inquiring about the product I needed, he told me to look online. What he didn't realize I already looked online and it was not clear if it was in stock. When I asked if I called the Holland store and he said yes, I inquired why he could not check for me. He very rudely informed me that he did not have time to do this, and it was an inconvenience that I even called the store. I understand that he was the only person on the floor and I would be okay if he took the time to say, I need to call you back when I have a moment. But to tell a customer that you outright refuse to do their job is unacceptable. And when I said I would call the Grand Rapids store, he said you should and hung up on me. He fully knew the Grand Rapids store has been permanently closed. It is a shame to see a store being ran like this when we have over the years given them all our business. We will take our business online going forward.

Captain runs a tight ship - very observant of all rules, keeps boat very clean. Both were willing to answer any question about the boat (even though they've probably answered every single one a thousand times or more - you'd never know from their response). Kind of unusual - if you want to, they will let you help a little bit on the boat - letting out sails etc. My son was *thrilled* to be given the duty of hoisting the gibb sail. The cruise is accompanied by suitable and inoffensive music - the night we rode it was toward the Jimmy Buffet side of things.... like I said - inoffensive. The evening we were on, the weather was quiet - too bad! Would have been nice to have had a slightly more exciting cruise - but not the charter boat's issue. (Does anyone know how to review Mother Nature on Yelp?) Before you go: - Call for reservation - they seem to regularly fill up their cruises. - Check the weather, and dress appropriately. It's always colder and windier on the water than you think it's going to be. - Leave everything you can on on shore - limited storage and you don't want to be messing with purses, camera bags and the like. - Budget $30 to $40 per person (2009 pricing) for the tour. - Bring extra cash for the bar service, if you want a beverage. - Non-marking shoes only, barefeet are fine. - No food allowed on board. - If you are prone to sea sickness, take your dramamine/gravol before you get on board. :-) - Children under a certain age (13?) must wear a life jacket - it's the law. My daugher was unhappy about this - oh well! - Sunset cruise is a bit more expensive than daytime cruise - about $6 a person, going from memory. - Remember your (compact) camera! You'll get some beautiful shots out there. Would I recommend: Yes. Would I return: Yes. Kid's loved it.

After we argued with he said he would give us our money back if we promise not to come back again.". Some people moved to the front so there were seats in the back. We said there are seats there now does he want us to stay or go. He said he wants us to go. He gave us our $90 ($45 each) back and we left. He was very rude and did not even try to accommodate us.
