Founder, mother, divine warrior, and artist designed this barn to be a sanctuary for those looking to enter a space to let go of tension and get to know themselves through the science and art of yoga. Michelle is by far of the most impactful teachers that I have ever had the honor of learning from. Shes a waterfall of pure esctatic enthusiasm and charisma. She expresses herself fully and will have you laughing and giggling the entire class. She inspire you by her example of strength and flexibility. She will push you to your limits yet also find spaces for surrender and softness. Her bootcamp is also a very special experience. Where she guides you through a sacred time in the early mornings to build your core, dance, be silly, and release any tension that may still be stored in our bodies. I love the art of this space. I love the community and powerful individuals that i have had the honor of practicing yoga within this community. All of the other teachers I experienced in this beautiful barn were professional, welcoming, and unique. If you are ever in need of some guidance and connection to powerful individuals, feel free to stop by this sacred place of yoga.

We stood in front of her tent for over 20 minutes with zero acknowledgment ( while she was working on another girl but holding conversations with other adults). I was ready to leave my daughter begged to stay. I took a picture of her Venmo and left my daughter there with a friend while I occupied my son. My daughter said she when it was her turn she was rude, didn't talk to her and when she asked the price she said "what do you want to pay? How much do you have?" She's 13. Absolutely inappropriate. For someone who's supposed to be so "zen" , she's not.

I love the trainers, the times, the workouts, the staff, and the other members. It's a super welcoming environment and the trainers always show you a modification. With anything in life, you get what you put in. So if you show up consistently and make an effort to know others, you'll end up building a wonderful and healthy community for yourself! I remember one my first classes the trainer Lauren showed us how to do a pull up on the rig. I said HA YEAH RIGHT CAN'T DO THAT, and Lauren immediately said "yes you can" and stayed with me to help me through it. Guess who doesn't need help anymore? ME! If you're not sure, just try it out. And say Jess O sent you we can get a referral discount!

Joining Burn Boot Camp - Danbury was one of the best decisions I've made for myself (and my…read morefamily). I have never been consistent with exercise. I didn't grow up playing sports, and every time I tried something new, it only lasted a short while. My sister-in-law had been a member in Georgia for years, and when Burn finally opened in Connecticut, I signed up during a promo. I've been there ever since!!! This May, I'll be celebrating two years as a proud Burn Danbury member! The trainers are incredible. They push me, encourage me, and believe in me -- sometimes even more than I believe in myself. They know what I'm capable of and motivate me to reach it. They are my inspiration, they are my accountability partners, they are friends. The people are just as amazing. Moms like me, married couples, dads, college students, high school students, retirees -- all working hard to be a better version of themselves. We live off high fives as we move from station to station and we leave every single camp sweaty, spent, and SO happy we showed up! One of the biggest bonuses for so many of us is the free childcare included with membership. On Saturdays, my husband and I get to work out together without worrying about taking turns so someone is watching the kids. He joined a month after I did -- also not a "gym person." Now, in our 40s, we are in better shape than we've ever been. What truly sets Burn apart, though, is the community. The friendships we've built over the past two years extend beyond camp. We stay after to do "just one more" exercise challenge together, we care about each other's goals, we cheer each other on to hit personal records, we even meet up monthly to hang out and get to know each other off the gym floor. It's truly more than a gym -- it's a community I am forever grateful for. If you're on the fence, take the leap. You won't regret it. And if you take that leap, come say hi!

I loved how everyone cleaned up after themselves and the 30 Minute circuit was an actual circuit at Planet Fitness back in the day. Now even regulars who've been going to this gym for years seem allergic to cleaning up their sweat, and it isn't enforced at all. I don't even see staff cleaning after themselves when they workout. The quickest way to offend those in the circuit area is to ask them if they can move so you can actually circulate. I haven't asked the staff to enforce it because they don't do that either when they are working out. The first time I joined the gym there was someone who tended to peek into the circuit area. She would say she didn't mind people choosing not to do the circuit but they needed to be mindful of those who are trying or she could help them find similar equipment to use outside of the circuit. She'd ask people to wipe down equipment before moving on If she saw them walking away. There is nothing like that at all now. Nothing is enforced. Equipment hogging throughout the gym can be annoying, especially if the person is just sitting and FaceTiming or watching TikToks for a half hour. I don't remember that being an issue when I first joined. There are a few customers who might try to claim three pieces of equipment by doing stuff like putting a phone, water bottle, and a key on each. I wish staff didn't allow that, but most customers are fine if you ask them if you can move their stuff for whatever amount of minutes you'd like to use the equipment. I've actually met most of my gym buddies that way. Ironically, I think most hog just to preemptively protect their workout time from the real hoggers. The only place I've really received pushback asking for someone to move their things has been in the circuit area. Most of the customers are friendly or at least neutral. There are times sexual harassment can be a bit much, but I've noticed most like that don't tend to stay at the gym long. The air can be hot and stuff for a gym, but I tell myself that's how PF keeps costs down. Staff are friendly. It isn't uncommon to see someone walking around with a Swiffer or a mop. The bathroom and changing area is almost always reasonably clean relative to the amount of foot traffic in and out. If it isn't clean when I walk in, it's clean by the time I leave. Gyms with much lighter foot traffic aren't as diligent about keeping the bathrooms clean. One thing I like about the renovation is that I feel as if there is more space to stretch and stuff without getting in anyone's space even at peak times. I never realized that I had been accumulating points to get free stuff at the gym until a staff member told me the program was going away. There wasn't really anything to get because others had been redeeming their points. That was a bummer because I had a ton of points. There is no more free pizza these days. It's been gone many years, but I still miss my slice of white. I appreciate the Tootsie Rolls, though.
