He also sometimes attributes items as things they are not. For instance, he sold a friend of mine a small vase Stichter said was jadite jade, but was actually resin plastic. When my friend took it to his jeweler for appraisal, the jeweler laughed and said it was worth, "About $3." My friend had paid $150. When he tried to return it to Stichter, he was told "as is where is" and his responsibility was to inspect all items before purchasing. Overall, this auctioneer is mostly hype. Oh, I forgot to mention that he favors his own workers when taking bids. I have seen him ignore other bidders when someone on his staff is bidding on an item.

The office is the most beautiful medical building I've ever been in. The equipment is all brand new with 3D imaging. Beautiful chairs and very relaxing office atmosphere. I'm usually very anxious going to the dentist but this office completely puts you at ease and they offer noise canceling headphones along with several other things to help keep you feeling relaxed! There were plenty of cool flea market clothing finds but we were mostly attracted to the art, much of which had Cincinnati themes. Our daughter and her boyfriend just moved into a new place, and they got a few pieces of unique art, including a Findlay Market painting, to hang on their walls. Washington Park was well maintained and clean. There were lots of park benches and the shade from the big trees added to the ambiance. The flea market was a great way to spend an hour or so.

So imagine my disappointment when last October I went hunting for an apple orchard in the greater Cincinnati area only to discover every single one had sold out of u-pick apples by the end of the first weekend of the month. Um, what?! So this year I was determined to get my apple picking in, even if that meant going in the second week of September. Which I did, right here at Monnin Fruit Farm. This place is out in the country as it should be and has a great variety of apples to choose from. When we went, the honey crisp were already nearly gone, but they'd just opened up the winesap rows. We got some of everything, from Fuji to golden delicious to macintosh. You buy by the half bushel or the bushel; prices aren't posted but this year the half bushel is $20. Cash or check only! Be sure to check out the store as well. On our way out we grabbed a dozen free range eggs, some apple butter and a bag of toffee. They've also got local milk, meat products and other produce. Monnin gets high marks for 1) actually having apples, 2) posting u-pick information on Facebook, 3) their awesome store and 4) knowledgeable staff. Minus one star for a confusing map/flag system for identifying apple varieties, and only two sizes for buying apples. Didn't really need a whole half bushel but you can bet I filled that bag! Would be nice to pay by weight or have a smaller size. Overall, this place scratched my apple-picking itch. Great way to kick off fall. Now, who's ready for apple pie?
