The amount of fries they give you seems to have tapered off a bit, but for the price, I can't complain. The tea is great and the employees are always so friendly and helpful. Plus, it always has that new house scent when you walk in, as if they just finished constructing the building the day before. Also, I've yet to see another restaurant as consistently clean as Slim Chickens is. I only have one complaint. When you go there while the sun is going down, there is a two to three hour period where it's impossible to sit on the entrance side, without being blinded by the sunlight. Their walls are giant windows and there's absolutely nothing blocking the sun on that side of the building and no blinds or tinted windows. I wrote the company yesterday and addressed this situation. Less than 24 hours later, I received a reply from the Vice-President of Operations, stating: "I appreciate you being a loyal guest of Slim Chickens! I wanted to drop you a note and tell you I appreciate the feedback and I am currently working on a solution for the windows. Thank you for your feedback and again, for being loyal guest!" As if this company's customer service couldn't get any better! They really are amazing. When I pulled up to the window, my food was handed to me, and I asked for a side of their sauce. That's when I was told they were out. I opened my burger and found that it only had the meat, one pickle, and the bun--no condiments at all. Thinking it was just an oversight, I asked for ketchup and mayonnaise. I was then told they were completely out of all sauces and condiments because they were waiting on their delivery truck the next morning. The only response I received was, "Sorry," followed by a shrug. I was even offered queso as a substitute, which wasn't a reasonable replacement for burger condiments. What was most frustrating is that no one mentioned they were out of everything when I placed my order. Had I known, I would have ordered something else or gone somewhere different. Instead, I paid full price for food that wasn't what I expected. I sat there honestly in disbelief, waiting for someone to offer a solution--a refund, a remake, or even an acknowledgment that this wasn't acceptable. Instead, everyone simply went back to work as if it wasn't a big deal. I was left feeling like the expectation was that I should just eat it. In the end, I left, went somewhere else to eat, and threw away the food I had just paid for. This was my second time stopping here while passing through West Monroe because I remembered wanting to eat here again. Unfortunately, after this experience, I don't see myself coming back. I truly hope this review is taken as constructive feedback. This restaurant has so much potential to be successful, but communication and customer service matter just as much as the food. Simply letting customers know about major menu limitations before they order--and making an effort to make things right when problems arise--would have made all the difference.
