i wish i could give this vet no stars. i wasn't going to write a review at all, but i need to as a warning. i brought my bunny here with a cut, and concerning bloat- they diagnosed him with an air pocket and told us to compress the wound and give him antibiotics- a week later his "air pocket" bursted. i called and was told that it was normal and to keep doing what we were doing. i called around to other places knowing that is just nonsense- bunny abscesses are extremely serious and emergent. the lady who answers the phone who knows absolutely nothing about bunnies should. not. be. giving. advice. without. consulting. a. doctor. i had to bring my bunny to an emergency vet where he had surgery, and we were told it is a possibility he won't make it because of how deep and severe it is. if only the vet we brought him to beforehand correctly assessed him, correctly diagnosed him, and gave him the correct antibiotics. which the new vet said it was not at all a antibiotic used for something like this. please do not take exotic pets if you're not equipped enough to properly treat them. pay more attention. read more

This happened several years ago, but I would never recommend this place. We had just moved here and didn't really know who to go to and we picked this place. The groomer was awesome and our pup looked great after a groom. On Presidents' Day our dog was acting strange, I let him outside and he just laid down and wouldn't move. I went out (it was 4 am) picked him up and I saw that his tummy was very red which indicated to me he was bleeding internally. He was so scared as were we. My husband called the office emergency number and waited for quite awhile for a call back, no call came until over an hour later. Our poor dog was really struggling and so afraid. We finally get a call back only to be told the idiot vet had basketball practice and he'd see our dog after 9am when he was done! Well our dog died in my arms. We called the office back to let them know he had died and we were on our way into the office. We get there and were ignored by the front office, I'm sitting there sobbing and holding my dead dog as my husband was trying to get help. After about an hour we finally get help and wanted him cremated alone and paid quite a hefty price to do so. We leave and over a month goes by and we are still waiting for our deceased dogs remains. I called several times and got the run around and so many excuses. Finally at about 6 weeks I call again, notice they NEVER called me. I called and asked if they had him back yet to which they finally had him. We went immediately over to pick him up and it was awful to have to relive the day we were there holding our beloved pup who had passed. We were treated so badly by the dumb Vet on call, and then to go into the office and be ignored. Then to add insult to injury we had to wait over a month to get his remains. We've had two more dogs since then, I would hope they are better but will never ever step foot into the place again. The vet who was on call needs another profession, as he had no compassion whatsoever. We go to a way better vet now but I would never recommend this place ever! They deserve NO stars. read more

We have 2 Belgian Malinois and a lab Dr Evans was awesome answering all our questions. Taking time to listen and give advice. I don't know what the problem with these negative comments but we haven't had the first problem with this clinic as far as the staff they are all amazing! We drive from Eagle Mountain just for the courtesy that we receive when we come in. Having 2 Belgian Malinois puppies is a challenge especially when taking them to the veterinarian and the staff was quick to lend a hand with them. NEVER have we had an issue coming here and we will always bring our Maligators here! read more

Brace yourselves for this one. My dog caught her dewclaw on the carpet and it was sticking out sideways. When I called WMVH they said one of 3 things would have to happen: 1) If it's not broke too high, they can cut off the broken end of the nail. 2) If it's broken further up, they'd have to remove the dewclaw (like ripping off a toenail). 3) If it's infected, they'd have to do a procedure to remove it by the root. She needed to be examined to determine what had to happen. After checking her out, Dr. Evans said he needed to take her back to remove the toenail. So off she goes. They both come back minutes later- Millie with a wrapped bandage around her leg and the cone of shame. Dr. Evans said "we removed the toenail just fine. I'm gonna send her with antibiotics and anti inflammatory medication." Then he gave me care instructions: leave bandage on for three days, then remove bandage and soak in epsom salt twice a day for 10 days afterwards. Great! I paid and was on my way. Fast forward 3 days. I remove the bandage and to my complete shock- her dewclaw was still there!!! Of course I examine a little closer and see that they had just cut the broken end off. A few things come to mind at this moment... Why'd Dr. Evans tell me he removed the dewclaw when he clearly did not? Why did I pay for a toenail removal when the toenail was not removed? If the broken piece of nail was simply cut off why the antibiotics and anti inflammatory? Why has my dog been moping around for the past 3 days in the cone of shame? Obviously, I called the next day to get some clarification. When I asked what the "office call" charge was the lady said "ummm I'm not sure how to explain it". Well.... okay?!? Dr. Evans called me the following Saturday and after I explained the two other veterinarians I took my dog to said the medication, cone and bandage was not necessary. That they'd recommend keeping an eye on it if it seemed to be bothering her or started to bleed THEN get her on the meds, Dr. Evans explained that in his career he's seen animals that have had to have their legs amputated if it got infected and he didn't want that to happen to my dog. Although I feel this should have been explained to me the day of visit, I understood his reasoning. It still didn't justify charging me for a service I didn't receive. After arguing for several minutes with me I ended the conversation by telling Dr. Evans to refund whatever he felt was just and right because he knew he flat out lied to me that day he walked in and told me the toenail removal went fine. The following Wednesday a women calls to get my card information to refund $50. I was really disappointed he thought $50 was honorable but whatever. It was better than nothing, right? After putting me on a hold- she hops back on to tell me the phone call is being recorded and they needed to have it on record that I was satisfied with this refund and that I would not leave any negative reviews on any platform. My jaw was on the ground! Are they paying me to stay quiet? It sure as heck felt that way!!! I told them to shove the $50 where the sun don't shine. More than a dishonest invoice, what bothered me the most is that I trusted them. Every time you take your furry family to a vet you are trusting and paying them for their honesty, transparency and to care for your pet. The lack of communication, blatant lie, appalling customer service and the $50 inducement to keep my lips sealed are beyond intolerable. For those reasons I will never trust Dr. Evans again. I would highly recommend taking your pet to a vet that has integrity. read more

If I could give them 0 star I would. We literally stepped in the door for a spider bite, they wanted to charge us $550 plus to treat him and $70 just for exam fees. The vet did even evaluate my animal or ask a history of what happened. Just diagnosed him with cheek grass and gave us an estimate. Isn't it ridiculous that vets like this take advantage of our love for our animals?! If he would've listened, he would know that this is been going on for two weeks, that my dog responded to Benadryl but the lump came back because it had abscessed. It just needed to be drained. I called my sister, who trains dogs for a living, and told her what happened. She told me to leave that vet, that her vet would get my dog in and charge me $120 for the same procedure. This vet barely looked or touched my dog and charged me $70 just to step foot in their doors. Don't take your animals here unless you want to be charged an arm and a leg! read more

Dang! Is it ANY wonder WHY this Vet Hospital has a 2.5 rating?! * My wife took our Dane pup into the West Mountain Vet Hosp for examination of a serious skin rash. The Vet was Dr. Caron. Unfortunately for our pup, she got WORSE after Dr. Caron's examination, an injection, and prescribed medication that actually made her WORSE! On top of that, they charged us $400 for the visit & meds that made her worse. * When my wife contacted this hospital again regarding our pup getting WORSE, they suggested that we take our pup to a dermatologist! REALLY?! * Well, we took our pup to the Payson Family Pet Hospital, saw Dr. Grant, and VOILA! In only a few days our pup was getting better and better, and in a couple of weeks, her rash had totally cleared up! AND, they charged us HALF of what West Mountain Vet Hosp charged us, and Payson Family Pet Hospital's diagnosis, no injections, and prescribed meds, that actually WORKED! Go figure... * Thank you Dr. Grant and Payson Family Pet Hosp! ** Well, I expect that the West Mtn Vet Hospital's office manager will write a scathing retort to my review here, claiming that they were in the right, and we were in the wrong, and blah-blah-blah ... It's expected ... *** BUT the truth of it IS; regardless of their retort, our pup got WORSE as a result of West Mtn Vet Hospital's diagnosis, injection & prescribed meds ... *** BUT our pup DID GET BETTER after we took her to the Payson Family Pet Hospital ... Horrific experience. Zero stars. They misdiagnosed our dog and she got significantly worse. They are impolite and unprofessional. We tried to call and resolve our concern multiple times and along with taking zero responsibility they were rude and discarding. They either need a whole new staff or should not be in business. Do not go here. Find a vet that actually has integrity and treats you and your fur baby with honesty, respect and follow-through. read more

I used to love Dr.Evans and respect him. But he's grown impatient, he has way to many animals there at once and some of his staff are just rude! I had my dog put down there last year and it had literally left me traumatized. Cold, hurried, insensitive, rude and did not even sedate her leaving her taking huge gasps for air. When I asked him if that was normal his response was a rude "what does it look like?!" On another visit with a different dog, the dog started barking he came out and yelled at me to get her out! He's over scheduling and just became callous. Don't go there!!!! read more

I'd also give them a 0 star rating. Twice they quoted my wife a price, then charged her almost double after the process! They up sell and make you believe you need to do more than you really do. Since my wife is non confrontational she just went with it, paid and didn't argue. Despicable to have some who is suppose to be a professional act in such an unprofessional manner!!!! Our dog was itching so much to the point she would pull out hair. We took her in and the vet said she's probably allergic to the shampoo we were using or just itchy from the changing of the seasons. Well a few days later I looked close at my dogs nose where she kept itching and there were tons of little bugs- turns out she had lice. The vet didn't catch that but they did charge us $75 to give us false info. The vet didn't even take a close enough look at our dogs skin to really rule out bugs. Don't recommend. read more
