Just discovered this place. Its 1/3 the distance of my…read moreusual barber. Three chairs with barbers here. I was a walk in and asked if i could get a cut and was told that two of them were booked all day but i could wait until the third finished the guy in his chair and i would be next. I got a cut that was just what i wanted and its reasonably priced so ill definitely be back soon.

I booked through Booksy for a tapered hair cut for my son for 1:15 pm. We were there at 1pm. At…read moreabout 1:10pm, and elderly lady had a medical episode, in which she became unresponsive for a few minutes, inside the barber shop and as a retired first responder, I went to help out by checking her pulse, requesting an ems and asking for cold water bottle to put on her neck. Once she became responsive, I was talking to her to assess her condition with basic questions. Don P asked if he should start cutting my son's hair and I asked if its okay if we could wait a few minutes until ems arrived. Once ems arrived and stabilized the situation, I was ready to talk with Don P about my sons haircut to which he says "its too late for a haircut because I have other appointments waiting". I looked at my watch which showed 1:34 pm and said "I've been here since 1pm and this lady had a medical emergency" to which he replied that he was taking lunch at 1pm and that she was stable when he asked if I was ready for the haircut. Talk about being callous and completely unaware of the situation (not like he did anything to help except sit in his chair). I get it, hes a barber and not a emt/medical expert but the fact that I stepped up and made sure the elderly lady was conscious and alert for ems should have cut me a slight break. Unfortunately Don P did not see it that way because he had other customers waiting. But everything happens for a reason because we went to Magic Clippers and my son received an amazing haircut which he loved. Now, Magic Clippers has a life long customer whereas Wise Guys lost my business and along with my respect. I would have loved to leave this review on Booksy (since I booked through the app) but because Don P cancelled the appointment, I was no longer able to leave a review for others to see. But shame on Don P and shame on Wise Guys Barber. Shout out to Yorktown PD and EMT for their response and help!.

You will feel the difference when you walk in the door to the Gents Quarters. First the atmosphere. Then they will offer you a drink from their fully stocked bars. That is all before you get to the hair cut. Zach made great conversation during my appointment and the end product (which by the way this was for my wedding) was perfect. My wife said she thought everything came out great after within seconds of seeing me walk in the house. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

First, don't believe the Yelp "more info" panel that says appointments aren't necessary. When I went there for a walk-in appointment they told me they couldn't cut my hair because no stylists were on duty that day for CGQ. So, just to make sure my trip to Franklin Lakes wasn't a complete waste of time, I made an appointment for my first haircut. I said, it was very nice. Now I'm trying to make my next appointment and no one's answering the phone. The message tells me to just, "go to 'DemandForce' to make an appointment." Okay. So I go to demandforce.com, and it's the corporate site of a firm that helps businesses with online marketing. There's absolutely nothing to do with CGQ on the site, other than a screenshot of how a "salon" could use DemandForce to integrate their appointment scheduling into their Yelp page (hint, hint CGQ?). I finally turned to Google for help, searching for "demand force chateau salon." That brought me to a local.demandforce.com page with a "Schedule an Appointment" button and more reviews. I would have gladly given CGQ 4-5 stars if not for the hoops I've had to jump through just to give them my business. Whoever's responsible for CGQ's web site needs to get the "Schedule an Appointment" button integrated into the site, and whoever does their Yelp page needs to put it there too. And as for the answering machine message, set up a FREE TinyURL shortened link to the scheduling page and provide that instead of just saying "go to DemandForce." Here, I created one for them free of consulting fee - http://tinyurl.com/chateausalon. Or maybe CGQ just doesn't want any more business?

I wish I found out about Johnny's long before I did. I've been recommending them ever since…read more Johnny's is a family barber and you can frequently see moms waiting with their kids or dads bringing them along. It's safe and friendly in a way the whole country was many years ago. G-Rated, family-friendly TV, reading material and conversation. You'll be greeted by a group of friendly barbers who don't just cut your hair - everyone gets the hot towel treatment, their neck shaved with hot lather and a straight razor and a shoulder massage done with an electric hand-held massager - all included in the price of your haircut. There is coffee and sweets while you wait. The prices are posted. All the barbers do a great job. The wait can be long if you're waiting for a particular person so most people go to whoever is open when their turn comes. If your really pressed for time you can ask them to skip the message. They want what you want. If you hate going to get your hair cut, do yourself a favor and give Johnny's a try. You'll be back. What's my favorite thing about the place outside of Johnny himself? The Lime-sec he uses to freshen me up. I love that smell and for people like me, the products they use on you are also available for sale. UPDATE 1/29/17 - While Johnny's online presence indicates he's closed today, a Sunday, he is indeed open. Why is that? Johnny has decided to close his shop on Saturdays (I'll give you a moment to read that again.) The Johnny's where a Saturday would find 4-5 barbers and a packed waiting area is now closed on that day and open from 7:30AM to Noon on Sunday. I arrived today at 7:31AM to find only Johnny and another barber, each with a person in their chair, with 3 others waiting. Not good. It takes Johnny himself about 45 minutes on average to complete a person - and that's not for a scissor cut. Not wanting to be here for hours I went with the other barber. Even though she isn't usually one of my top picks she does a good job and is quicker than the rest. Closing on Saturday, in my mind equals a lost star.
