I started seeing Sydney around April 2022 and have had such a great experience with her and acupuncture. I initially went in to help with anxiety (thanks, covid!) but acupuncture has also help with so much more - like I have only caught one cold since april and I have two young children that bring a different germ into the house on a daily basis. While I can't say that acupuncture has cured me of my anxiety, I does help and I'm so grateful. Sydney is so kind and friendly and helpful. I also appreciate that she doesn't push herbs on you like a lot of acupuncture practices. She will recommend something if I ask, but does not pressure me to buy from her. She also remembers my name and things we've talked about at past appointments which is so nice to feel like she is actually listening to you and treats you like somebody special. I have been seeing Paul for over 10 years. Simply put he is the best caregiver I have known. Above all else Paul cares about you and your health. I loved my session with Sydney. Her style is more on the aggressive end of the spectrum, meaning she uses A LOT more needles and inserts them more quickly than anyone else I have seen, which I really feel is most effective for my migraines and brings me the most relief. Her fees per session are clearly written out when you book, so there are absolutely no surprises. She also kindly added cupping to my session at the last minute to help with my migraine, even though it brought me a couple of minutes over the hour, and suggested that I remember to ask to save some time for cupping in the future. Nope. Never again. My acupuncturist never introduced herself to me and when I told her it was my first time, she said 'this should be fun.' Prior to the treatment, she did not explain to me what was about to happen. Pretty scary considering all I had was the basic knowledge that needles were going to be stuck into my body. How can I possibly tell you how great Paul is? I went to see him for help with my lungs and sinuses, and received much more than I could ever have predicted. He is aggressive and thorough with my treatments, and within a few weeks of seeing him my whole family and I had all noticed a drastic difference in my breathing and lung capacity. The first time I went to see Paul I was so sick I couldn't even speak. My body was hurting and my mind was restless. To put it simply: I was in pretty bad shape. I couldn't communicate very well, but he was very patient with me and, through notes and signs, was able to determine a course of action for me. I was a little apprehensive about the treatment because it was my first time trying it, but almost as soon as he started, I began to feel a sense of relief that I had not felt since I had gotten sick. My body started to relax, and my throat started to clear. I was finally able to rest after five long days of being miserably sick. When I got home I had a great night's sleep and I can honestly say my acupuncture treatment was what jump started my overall recovery. I've been to see him a few more times after that, due to a small accident I was involved in. I have been receiving accupuncture for the last 10 years with different practicioners, and I can tell with great confidence, he is one of the best that I have seen so far. I have only been to this clinic twice, and have otherwise only been to the community acupuncture clinic, so I cannot speak to the quality of services here. What I can say is that from an administrative perspective, they are difficult to work with, especially if using your FSA card. I have made two requests over the course of a month for itemized receipts to submit for payment, and was assured they would be sent, but have not received them. I will now likely have to pay for all of my services out of pocket. I also have called to pay for my last visit, but get an answering machine, and I am uncomfortable leaving my card number in a message. They also charge a 3% service fee for using a card, which seems unreasonable, as these are not small transactions. Overall this makes me very hesitant to use their services in the future. read more

I have been seeing Paul since August 2016 after being diagnosed with anxiety and having some pretty severe anxiety attacks that kept me out of work. After several acupuncture treatments I was feeling better within a few weeks and able to get back to work. I had been seeing Paul for almost 5 years. He has helped me through so much. I have lyme disease with chronic muscle fatigue. I also have bipolar. I get in these cycles of pain, then mania, then depression, then more pain, wash, rinse repeat. Paul made it possible for me to break this cycle. Paul Nojaim is professional, patient, calm and an excellent listener. I have worked with Paul for several years. He has treated me for a variety of ailments. Most recently I saw Paul for back pain and muscle spams. I was in constant pain, not able to sleep and had difficulty bending over to get my shoes on. After 4 treatments, my back was better. I live in Ballard so it isn't convenient to get to West Seattle for treatment. However, I would not consider going anywhere else. I have gone to WS Acupuncture a few times for chronic pain in my hip, from a previous injury. While the procedures themselves were not unpleasant, and the provider was ok..... I found their business practices to be impossible to deal with. It would take me days to get ahold of someone to even make appointments, days more to speak to someone about concerns or questions.... and never would I get replies to emails. The agony I endured between waiting for confirmations and actual appointments was nearly unbearable. I do not have a job where I can spend whole days trying to get through to a person. It was so frustrating. They didn't even have an answering machine or service that was helpful. Any time you have to physically go to a business and slide a note under their doormat in order to communicate something important (in this day and age of computers...) is not a good practice. I did that. I would not recommend WS Acupuncture, if you need communication to coincide with your treatment. read more

I went to see Paul in early 2014 when my stress and neck pain were off the charts. The first few visits went pretty well, and I didn't return again for a couple months. At this visit though, everything was a mess. When I arrived it was like he didn't remember anything about me or what I was there for. I had to tell him my whole story all over again, even though this was my 4th visit. When I told him I'd been coming for stress, he said "I can't bill insurance for that, what else?" so I told him I also have chronic neck pain, which made him happy because that was billable. While I was laying on the table with needles all over me, I was staring face down looking at a rogue needle that was stuck in the carpet. I hoped that it fell out of me somewhere and wasn't just a leftover from someone else because that is beyond nasty. This session was about half as long as previous sessions before he came in and de-needled me. Well, mostly de-needled, because I had to pull one out of my own wrist as I was getting dressed, which honestly kind of freaked me out. All of these factors combined was enough to ensure that I would never return. But wait, there's more. Yesterday I logged into my insurance carrier's website to look up some info and saw that Paul had billed me for a visit in Feb 2015 for leg pain. My last visit was in April 2014 for stress/neck pain. He was paid by my insurance carrier for this "visit." I called and left a message asking for someone to call me back because this is not ok. A day and a half later I got a message from Paul that can only be described as rude. He said that its no big deal, it happens all the time that patients are billed in error, especially since he has 3 patients with my same name. He then went on to say it was probably my insurance company's fault or the clearinghouse that he uses to submit his claims. Now, I bill insurance for a living myself, so I know this is not true. At best, he failed to properly identify a patient with my same name and submitted a claim under my insurance. At worse, there's something very sketchy going on. I find it hard enough to believe that he has 3 patients with my exact name, since my legal first name is Katie and most are Katherine's or Kathleen's, but the fact that he wouldn't even own up to the mistake his made pissed me off. Plus, HIPAA was violated. That is a big deal. Especially if this indeed happens "all the time" as Paul himself said. Paul, please get your shit together and stop blaming other people/entities. This one is on you. read more

He takes the time to get to know you, remembers what is going on in your life to check in next time, even if it's six months or longer later. He even remembered me after three years of not seeing him, and remembered where I was at three years prior. He is a supportive person for stuff even beyond things relating to your acupuncture treatments. He is knowledgeable on his acupuncture practice and really knows his stuff. I can honestly say that Paul has done nothing short of giving me my life back, I have struggled with debilitating anxiety for my entire life, and have tried diet, counseling, medication, lifestyle change, and nothing has worked as well as acupuncture. Dr. Nojaim is an excellent acupuncturist. I've seen others who seemed to focus on generic points. He takes the time to figure out what's going on in your life and causing issues along with examining different factors such as pain level, pulse and tongue to provides a very effective treatment. My boyfriend was recently mugged while walking home from the store and as result had a concussion, lapsed memory, 8 stitches and most importantly nerve damage to his radial nerve in the right arm. His regular doctors told him it would take up to 6 months to heal. With Dr. Nojaim services within 3 weeks he's drastically recovered, even his regular physician was very surprised by his progress. I see Dr. Nojaim for varies issues such as stress relieve, migraines and anxiety. I feel excellent after every session. If you have doubts in acupuncture I highly recommend you give him a try. read more
