I'm 59. I've ridden dirtbikes for 49 years and have suffered more injuries than I can count. I suffered a shoulder injury 4 years ago. My option in traditional medicine was to take pain pills until it was bad enough for surgery. At the end of September I could barely use my arm and the pain was constant. I was desperate and figured what do I have to lose. 3 treatments in, I had regained 50 percent of my mobility and constant pain was gone with only pain in certain movements. After the 5th and final week I was at 80 percent and pain was almost completely gone. I'm now 3 weeks into physical therapy and my therapist is amazed at how quickly my strength and mobility is progressing at each visit, especially for someone my age. The staff was by far the best part of my experience at Pinnacle. During my visits I interacted with every member of the staff. Every one was friendly and professional. The injections I received in my joint can be painful. However, the expertise of the staff ensured it was as pain free as possible. Given what I do and the hundreds of visits to medical facilities over the years, you know if someone is good at their job, especially with long needles. I've had nerves hit, tendons hit, and bones hit. Not pleasant. Given the complexity of the shoulder it is a minefield of pain waiting to happen. The professionals at Pinnacle never made a single misstep. Not one. It was truly amazing. I'd never had acupuncture before and that was an eye opening experience. It was so relaxing. And then there was Tam, behind the front desk. He has a great personality and was always making sure you were comfortable and taken care of. His communication about appointments was excellent sending reminders and making sure you knew what was going on. On each visit I would see multiple staff members and would get text reminders of who I was seeing at what time so I always knew what would happen that day. Unheard of! The entire experience was amazing. The results are phenomenal. I don't know why I waited so long. I don't do reviews so this is a first for me. I never thought I'd be able to use my arm again, so I have to say something. Thank you so much to the staff at Pinnacle. Thanks to you I can continue doing what I love, riding like an idiot. I had so much pain in my knee I could not put any weight on it without being in extreme pain. It was even hard to sleep without waking upon every movement. WOW is all I gotta say! .. Ok, that is not completely all: I had previously gotten acupuncture in Atlanta and didn't think it did anything. Daniel with Pinnacle is so incredibly knowledgeable and really explains what it is that acupuncture does. I really felt the electricity going through my body when he was opening up areas that needed to be worked on... My circulation is poor due to a kidney deficiency. Now I know why my hands are feet are always cold!.. Cold hands, bad kidney's (although I will continue to say, "Cold hands, warm heart" :) Furthermore, through feeling of my pulse on my hand, he was able to detect that my right side is worse off. Initially I was a little skeptical about these findings, but while getting the acupuncture I could feel my right side being treated the most. How rad is that! I appreciate the professionalism and genuine empathy of the entire staff at Pinnacle Integrative Health. For some 20 years I had been trying to find the cause of my rapid weight increase within a 2 year time span. Through the years prior to my discovery of Pinnacle, I had seen many primary care physicians who would only offer the generic advice of simply exercising more and to make better food choices. However, in the back of my mind I always wondered why I had put the weight on to begin with. Shortly after my first couple visits to Pinnacle Integrative Health, several tests were run that actually pinpointed exactly what was going on with my overall health that had attributed to the weight gain. I was given a very specific plan to follow once the results came back and during my weekly visits I was given so much care and support in my quest to shed unwanted pounds. I went to Pinnacle for stem cell injections in my hip. I was told that the injections would help, but also needed to do several other procedures for best success (acupuncture, other shots, etc). I went consistently for several weeks before getting my stem cell injection. Followed all the directions I was given post injection. Needless to say the injection didn't work. When I told them I was seeing no improvement they told me I could come in for another shot, but it had to be in the next couple days. No reason was given for the time limit. It all seemed quite suspicious to me. I paid several thousand dollars for the procedure, and was left severely disappointed. I have since had my hip replaced, which I was trying to avoid in the first place. I was left feeling like I had been swindled. read more

I wanted to seek treatment from a woman Acupuncturist to feel more at ease a week before I persued you 3 weeks into treatment with Matt at NORTHWEST accupuncture-19,-20 to 6-26 -20. I decided to come to you as you are a referral from my insurance Kiesser Permente. l am taken back by how much you charge on top of a 30.00 co pay.Jessie was so short in sessions and not consistent felt like she was upgrading me. On my last day of treatment I ask if I could have a mask as mine was not fitting right. Word for beta Jessie said no that's for new clients...excuse me seriously a health violation. The second.session I met with the office manager? I had no real feel yet as it was only one session. On my last session told that Jesdie would not be able to see me but recommended Daniel .Was she not listening? I went because of my insurance referral and did not want to see a man for treatment. I did share I broke my left febia running it was a stress run. Thier notes only indicate an ankle sprain on 7 -23-20. I from the beginning had informed you I broke the ankle on the right and soft bones on the left ( both legs) On August 4 2020 Was not given appropriate time told Jessie would not be there for next session.Please note your notes indicate prior authorization wasn't obtained? Not recommended if you can't afford to waste time. 1. Long wait before appointment: 1. I waited in the waiting room for 30 minutes, without any update on how much delay I can expect. 2. After 35 minutes the person I was scheduled to see rushed past me without a word, to attend to other patients. 2. Scheduling the appointment in the first place was difficult: 1. I had to wait 2.5 weeks for the first available appointment. 2. I emailed the requested info, but both email addresses bounced. I called several times, and eventually I snail-mailed the info. In addition I contacted the practice via their website form, and after a week I received confirmation that my info was received. A highly unprofessional office. read more

I went at least four times last year. First visit was just regular. Danny said he'd review my progress after the third session, so he didn't really talk to me about anything the first few times. No doubt his strategy to get you to come back. So -1 star for being uninformative. After the first session, Danny was extremely pushy and I felt bullied into immediately making another appointment. So I did. -1 star for bullying. Since I work 9-5 on weekdays, like most people, he made me an appointment at 7:30am. I waited for 45 minutes before his colleague showed up, gave me his cell phone number and told me to call him. He made an excuse about his alarm not going off and, instead of offering to reschedule, told me to wait for him to catch a bus to the office. -1 star for having to sit in the hall outside his office for at least an hour. Danny knew I had to be at work by 9, but left me alone in the room until 9:05, after just a 30 minute session. He charged me for a full hour and once again pushed me into making another 7:30am appointment. I was 20 minutes late for work. -1 star for poor customer care, ripping me off. At the next 7:30 appointment, I show up and the office is once again closed and dark and no one is there. I waited 10 minutes for him to show before calling his cell phone again. And again, he tells me to wait for him to catch a bus to the office. Same issues as the previous session. At our 4th appointment, he failed to have his chat with me about progress of my condition/pain, if I had any feedback, etc. He really acted like he didn't care about anything except booking the next session. Always so pushy. Also in our last session, he hit a nerve in my right hand, made up some BS about "release of bad energy". I have had issues with my right arm ever since. Painful issues that have me in physical therapy to this very day. I'm out of stars to deduct for actual physical damage. Danny might shower you with what seems like genuine knowledge, but he's just in it for your money. He doesn't seem to care about his clients' time or health. read more

My journey has just begun. I come to Pinnacle to help me sleep better and to eliminate some medications. I've been having treatments for over a months now. My body is loving it! Everyone on staff are personable and professional. Danny and Erin are my personal superheros. Most of my treatments have been with Erin, I love talking to her, she has a wealth of knowledge. After missing a treatment she kicked my next one into high gear or something, because I felt like a warm marshmallow in a cup of hot coco for the whole weekend. I found that it may have been a last resort to the excruciating amount of pain I've had in my back and shoulders after a highly invasive back surgery I had about a year ago. No medicine could help me, and I was willing to try anything. As I knew no one to refer me a practitioner, like yourself, I looked to Yelp. I had one visit with Danny, and literally I was brought to tears as his treatment was so amazing it about completely erased my pain. To be honest, of course I was a little skeptical if it would work at all, but I am now a strong believer and continue to work with him. I have been coming here since last October and I couldn't be happier to write a review for this company. I met Danny at the Magnolia 7K Race and was training for a half marathon at the time. I was having severe pains in my shins and I was excited to meet him after the race was over. He had a tent set up and was seeing people after they were done with the race and I ended up in his tent. I made an appointment to come see him and I haven't looked back. Danny helped me with not only my shin splints but he also helped me with my migraines. I have also learned a lot from Danny when it comes to health and wellbeing. I still see Danny a couple of times a month to ensure my path to recovery. I am very satisfied with him and would recommend him to anyone interested in acupuncture. I've been receiving acupuncture on and off for almost two decades now, so I feel like I've got a reasonable idea of what to expect. Danny is one of the better practitioners I have worked with, and I have trusted him to help me overcome some very significant health challenges. I've been receiving treatment at Pinnacle for about 9 months now, and Danny and the rest of the Pinnacle staff have always been both caring and professional. I appreciate the wide range of services offered here. And if there's something I am unhappy about or I'd prefer that he alter his treatment somehow, all I have to do is say so, and Danny has always been good about accommodating my requests. I haven't had any problems with billing or trouble making appointments at times that work for me. I have minimal insurance coverage, so the payment plans are very helpful. Appointments can occasionally run long, but I can't think of any medical office where that hasn't been an issue at times, and really, acupuncture isn't the sort of thing you ought to attempt on a rushed timeline. read more

I have had upper back pain for over 5 years and would get massages every week to relieve muscle tension. After a few treatments at Pinnacle my back pain is nearly gone!. I used a Groupon to introduce myself to the world of acupuncture. I am always willing to try different types of therapy for minor issues and acupuncture has always been one I've wanted to try. The lady at the front, Michelle (I believe), is very nice and easy on the eyes. Danny was my acupuncturist. His consultations were very cookie-cut and designed around getting a long and expensive treatment period from you no matter what problems you may have. They were so cookie-cut, in fact, that gave me the exact same explanation twice, despite having been there no more than a few days prior to that visit. That is when I realized he doesn't care too much about you personally, just about the next group of sessions he can extort out of you. He wasn't very personable and I feel like he has the same blanket responses prepared for any set of questions he may encounter. I spent a little more than I wanted to but I did want to give the procedure a try to see if it could alleviate any of my problems. I feel like it didn't change much for me but I am open to trying it somewhere else. I am not sure he is as experienced as a person should be since he hit a nerve a few times during my several sessions there, causing quite a bit of discomfort. The location is also quite inconvenient if you are getting there by transportation other than public. Their hours of operation are during normal business hours so parking will be difficult and expensive. Unfortunately, I feel my experience was very similar to the ones that Ade and Tiana both had (see reviews below). read more

I started my journey at Pinnacle to fix my SI joint and hip joint pain. I was in so much pain and could barely walk 30 yards without extreme SI pain and hip pain. Pinnacle started me out with some tests (very professional) and decided I was a good candidate for stem cells, PRP injections, and acupuncture. It was the best decision I ever made. It's been three months and I'm almost completely pain free. I don't take any pain medications and I can walk/run/grapple again. I had to take it easy for the first 8 weeks but now I'm back to my normal life. I'm really glad I got the injections because I was about to consider surgery. Danny is really great - thorough, kind, accomodating, and helpful. I can't say his treatment made me feel much better over the longer term, but I really appreciated how he explained everything and was very concerned about how I felt. My only drawback was that he sold me an expensive bottle of naturopathic meds. I asked him if they were OK for someone with my condition. He said they were and I took them home only to find out that they weren't. Honest mistake, I'm sure, but one that cost me more than I would have liked. The issue I had was with his billing service. Getting the services paid for was a complete nightmare. It took months for me to get a bill and to get information I repeatedly asked for. It was a huge hassle. I'd recommend him highly if you know that your insurance provider fully covers him - I would not recommend going here if you plan to pay out of pocket. Just a massive headache. read more

I have been going here regularly for almost 4 years now. I started going because of severe knee and back pain from 28 years of rigorous skateboarding and athletics. My back was to the point that some days I had no option but to lay on the hard floor and my knee kept me consistently limping. I bought a deal and decided to try Pinnacle Acupuncture. I had previously seen another acupuncturist that I liked a lot, but I wanted to see what a different practitioner was like. I was extremely disappointed in Danny's work and he made me very uncomfortable. He does the first couple of treatments without much explanation or care, and then hits you with the "assessment" during which he tells you that you need to commit to a long course of treatment including multiple cleanses and acupuncture and herbs. In my case the treatment plan would last 6 months and when added up, would have cost over $3,500. He wants you to pay for up front for the treatment and really pushes scary supplements including ILLEGAL "herbal" HCG. http://www.fda.gov/forconsumers/consumerupdates/ucm281333.htm He also does not follow through - He promised to get me invoices for what I did pay so I could submit them to my insurance (a compromise, after he failed to submit them on his own) but they never materialized. After he started pushing the HCG and I found out it's illegal, I decided not to go back. Stay away. ETA: The deal was for you to mail the invoices to me, but that never happened. We discussed that when I decided not to buy the course of treatment. It's been over a year now, so probably too late to submit them to my insurance company, but if you do mail them to me I will edit this review again to that effect. To be clear: The herbal HCG he suggested to me is exactly what the FDA link explains is illegal. Regardless of how you may now market the supplements, the advertising material you gave me clearly stated that it was herbal HCG - yes, it used the term "HCG" which is why I googled it and found out that it is illegal and dangerous. read more

Let me start off by saying that this review is not because I don't believe acupuncture as a practice works, or that I dislike alternative medicine. I go to hypnotherapy regularly and use herbs in my normal health care practices. However, I had a terrible experience with Pinnacle and with Danny. I got a groupon for two sessions and a consultation. At the consultation (the first meeting), the very sweet but obviously heavily coached "patient care specialist" told me about the basics of acupuncture and how sessions would go. She was courteous and professional, but I got the immediate impression that her job was to sell me as many extras as possible. I was told that I needed the $400 detox cleanse (mostly protein powders and teas), and that I needed to sign up for at least three sessions (my groupon had only two) before I could expect to see results and that I should sign up for the third session and pre-pay $75 right then. I was further told that I would probably need at least two $75-90 sessions a week for months to see any real improvement, and that my improvement would be charted numerically according to their algorithm, rather than my own impression of health. It was pushy and uncomfortable, right from the start. Danny (the acupuncturist) came in for about 5 minutes of my consultation, did a pulse check (that is to say, took my wrists into his hands abruptly without a word besides "hi, I'm so-and-so"), told me I probably had blood in my stool (which I do not), and that I should buy the detox program. He left without asking me anything about why I even came to the practice. He also treated the patient care specialist with a supercilious, detached manner that irked me. Shaken but as I had already paid for two appointments, I scheduled my sessions as directed and was able to fend off yet another attempt to buy the detox program. Later that week, I found out through my partner (who had also had his consultation that week) that not only did they treat him similarly, they spoke to him about things I had mentioned in my assumedly private consultation. I found that extremely unprofessional. The initial session was similarly uncomfortable and impersonal. Danny decided to work on my extremely minimal lower back pain first (rather than the anxiety I had spoken about as my primary complaint), and to identify where the pain was, he roughly shoved his arm under my hips while I was lying on the table without asking or warning. I'm not used to being touched by health professionals without at least an explanation of what they're doing. He also commented on my tattoo and stroked it several times. I don't mind being touched in general--he just has a creepy, nonconsensual way about him. When he inserted one needle, he hit a nerve and my arm jumped. He explained it as "bad energy release" and my arm was sore for days afterwards. The second session was more of the same. A creepy sort of treatment from Danny, more touching without warning, a weird cookie-cutter feel to the session, and more pressure at the end to schedule my third appointment, along with ANOTHER consultation with the patient care specialist, whom I can only assume would have spent plenty of time selling me even more appointments and treatments and detox programs. Furthermore, when asked how my back pain was and I reported that it was somewhat worse, Danny explained that as a "healing reaction." He has an explanation for everything, it seems. Your pain is better? His treatment made it that way. Your pain is worse? It's just healing. Your pain is the same? You can't expect it to work that fast. Feeling the heat, I paid for a third appointment and consultation (a 2.5 hour commitment). After having to reschedule because of a bad cold (which the patient care specialist did not seem particularly concerned about--she urged me to make the trek downtown anyway, even when I told her I had a high fever and needed to stay in bed), I have decided not to go back. Now, I wasn't looking for a quick fix--I understand these things take time. The overall impression I was left with, though, was that the practice does care about its patients' health. I'm tired of being seen as dollar signs. The treatments, though vaguely comfortable (besides the touched nerve and the multiple bruises I had afterwards), the money-centered atmosphere, sadly, ruined any real positive effect. If they were to restructure their setup, perhaps, to one where patient care was the real focus, and to cut it out with the corporate detox program (stop telling me how cavemen ate whey powder), and if Danny stopped touching nonconsensually and started listening to his patients, I would go back. At the moment, though, I have no interest in being treated this way again. P.S. The receptionist is a dear and extremely lovely. Best part of the whole place was talking to her about tea. read more

They structured it so I spent time with a receptionist who was very nice but seemed mostly to be there to occupy your time so that the massage therapists could juggle more clients. The second or third time I went in, this receptionist decided to give me and a female patient that I didn't know feedback about our progress at the same time, which I'm pretty sure is not legal. Daniel tried to sell me a very expensive package deal which included supplements that I didn't ask for. I was looking for treatment for a very specific injury, and frankly, he and the other therapist didn't help me at all with that. On top of everything else, I had a pretty bad reaction to one of the treatments and had shooting pain that felt like electric pulses on my hands and legs for a while. The therapists only were available during business hours, which made it tough to get in there. Bottom line is, I spent a bunch of money and didn't get any relief. I later found a therapist who was very helpful and who works evening hours, so I am big believer in Acupuncture. I would never refer anyone here. read more

Danny has really helped me manage my seasonal allergies through Acupuncture and Chinese herbs. He is the first person that has really been able to help me on a long term basis. I am amazed at how much better I felt once he started treating me. Recently I saw him for a severe neck ache. He did a procedure called 'cupping' which felt like a deep tissue massage. This treatment was very effective in releasing all the tension in my neck and greatly eased the pain I was experiencing. Danny really has a comprehensive understanding of the whole body and the underlying issues of symptoms. I have been to several acupuncturists and Danny is, by far, the most effective practitioner I have seen. Initially i saw him for insomnia, which he has since fixed. However, he has helped me enormously with other things that I did not even realize acupuncture can fix,including breathing issues and strengthening my immune system. this was my first try at acupuncture. the folks here are friendly professional, knowledgeable and they work to make everything accessible and understandable. they explain everything and tailor the remedy to your needs. i've seen impressive results with a problem that i had resigned myself to as unsolvable. so that's pretty awesome. they take most insurance plans though at this moment. sadly, not regence. although i have not yet taken advantage of it, i appreciate that they offer free acupressure classes to existing patients. read more

I have been plagued with lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) from climbing and construction projects. After a physical therapist said I was getting old and would have to deal with this, the positive outlook from people at Pinnacle acupuncture was refreshing. I have had 4 treatments and the sharp pain is gone. I am still working on some minor dull pain but each treatment seems to help. I could not be happier with my experience so far at Pinnacle Acupuncture!! I first came in because I had a recent back injury with soft tissue damage that was causing me extreme pain. Instead of just treating my back pain, the acupuncturist Dan asked me about my entire health history, including emotional trauma, and treated me for everything. Within just a few seconds of beginning the treatment my back began to feel better and has continued to feel better since. Dan also explained what he was doing and why he was doing it, increasing my own understanding of how acupuncture treats pain as well as disease and old trauma the body is still holding onto. The other acupuncturist Erin and case manager Laura are also incredibly knowledgable about principles of Eastern medicine and lovely people to interact with. After just 3 treatments my back is almost completely pain free, I am less fatigued, less irritable, and feel a lot better overall.
