I do not recommend this company. Though our sales associate in the Suffolk, VA area, Jonathan Sexton, seemed professional throughout the sales pitch, it all ended up with misleading information. I signed a contract for a whole home window replacement (22 windows total). The initial process was smooth from window delivery timeline to scheduling. However, I was informed approximately 16 hours before the scheduled installation that one of the windows was delivered damaged. The installation was scheduled over a two day period. At the conclusion of the 2nd day, we were informed that another window was warped and could not be installed. Following installation, we found that another window was installed damaged and would require service/repairs. With this contract, there was a no payment and 0% APR promotional offer associated with it, to activate following COMPLETION OF PROJECT. The contractors had my wife, while working from home and caring for our 18 month old in a noisy home during the project, sign a "certificate of completion" while surrounded by 5 men which then activated the promotional period despite the project NOT being completed. Having contacted both the West Shore Home office and our sales associate, Jonathan Sexton, they stated that there's nothing they can do because the project was marked as "complete with service", with the service to be conducted at a STILL unknown date. From Jonathan, "I completely agree with you that it's not fair, and unfortunately we can't control something getting damaged in shipped". While that is understandable, it should fall under the multi million dollar company to take the brunt of the damaged goods preventing project completion, NOT the customer. Whenever I was informed that not all windows would be installed due to one being damaged, I was not informed that the promotional period would still activate despite the project being completed incomplete, or I would have just held off on it until all materials were available. Sheisty business practices and poor communication overall. Smoke and mirrors. I do not recommend. read more

I called to get a quote for wheel in shower for my Veteran dad. The only choice i got to pick was color of hand rails and corner pieces. Not even the color of the shower itself. Verbal quote, $13,484, now mind you he told me they have worked with VA before, with a grant approval one contractor signs the proper form for the quote. Grant is $6800. So there for i would get a loan for around $6600. He wanted me to get a loan for $13,484 give or take a few $. I said no i am not getting a huge loan like that. He kept trying to tell me it would be fraud for the lender. UMMM no!, Well after much talking back and forth the sales person just kept trying and said, we will cancle the org. contract and rewrite it later. I told him NO, once that is signed and after 3 days i am bound to it. NO i am not doing that. My dad came in to the room and ask, " how is it you can remodel a WHOLE bathroom for $20,000 but a wheel in shower is over $13,000?" he never got and answer and the guy packed up and left kinda quick. He send me the quote on my email. BUT when i got it it was more then he showed me. it is $14,085. THAT IS FISHY, for the folks to have worked around the VA knowing that $6800 was coming. I feel they are over charging, with them working with Veterans i am so upset, who has signed the papers and got took advantaged of. In my opinion this company from the reviews i seen, well lets say, i worked in construction and from what i read, they do not have good workers doing good work. one picture i seen was caulking, A 5 year old could have done better. To sum it up, I had them do a master bath remodel a few months ago and I dropped $20,641 for a jackleg quality reno. They don't do a full reno. I'm honestly resentful every time I walk into that bathroom knowing I paid way more than I should have for the work done and the quality. I should have waited for my contractor instead of being impatient and getting subpar work. I needed to get a couple windows, three doors and another bath reno done it will not be through them. Found out after the work was done the workers aren't licensed, they get training and roll under West Shores license. I had to demo half of my bathroom and remove my sink myself because for some reason they don't remove those. Since the bathroom is smaller they couldn't install one of their sinks. I wanted a smaller round bowl they apparently only sell elongated so after paying all this I still have to install a sink and get the toilet switched because as I suspected it's too big for the bathroom. Day one, I hear loud thumps and cracking. I go to the bathroom they were trying to tear out the ceiling frame with their body weight. That wall is shared with my other bathroom I walk in and there are now cracks at the ceiling from them pipping out the matter ceiling. I had to fix that. They open up the walls and there's massive old water damage, they down play it and I said I want to have a structural contractor look at it. They call their manager to look it at and I tell him the same thing, it's getting fixed properly not patched up. The contractor had to tear up the flooring including the subflooring and the water damage had gone into two other rooms and effected a joist and they were saying it wasn't a big deal. They just wanted to get the job done quickly not correctly. I get West Shore back in, day one I hear "it doesn't line up" and I go in and they say the pan doesn't align with the subfloor hole they cut but they can fix it, then one of the contractors keeps asking when I was getting lunch for them etc. He was joking but not. Their manager comes to check on them which I found odd. One guy says he was making sure they weren't messing around. Later that day I come in and sitting there watching a show on his phone. Day two, I told them when I answered the door not to play music loud since I was in calls all day. Less than a hour later I'm trying to lead a call with rap music in background. I have to go in and ask that they turn it down since I'm in calls. They put the walls up and I asked for white caulk they used clear. Which has now turned yellow and I'm going to have to caulk over it. The same guy is complaining about lunch I said fine what do you want and ordered them lunch so he'd shut up. They get everything installed and it looks fine. I start my part of the reno a few days later and find the issues below. I called and they send someone out to fix the caulking issues. He comes out and I show him the cracks and quarter round that wasn't caulked down. He fixes the quarter round then asks what I want him to do with the cracked caulk...uh fix it, recaulk it I guess. I had to have them come out again to look at the misaligned drain, the same manager comes out and says no problem we can fix it. The plumbers come out and say no way we can't fix it because of how they set the pan etc but it's not going to leak and I should be fine. I found that part of the floor wasn't glued down so I had my contractor fix that because I was tired of dealing with them. All the issues found: Warped wall from screwing in shelf too tight Cracked caulking along ceiling pan, walls and inside shower Did not adhere or caulk 1/4 round to shower base, attached the edges and nothing else Did not caulk around toilet Part of the floor was not glued down Escutcheon at toliet is plastic not chrome or even metal Shower head pipe is crooked Tag left of toilet connector Shower pan not aligned to shower drain covering almost half of the drain with the pan Large gaps between wall and flooring Grip bar covers keep falling off Tag left in shower read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE/SUPPORT!!!!!! West Shore Home acquired Skyline Windows in Richmond VA shortly after I purchased and installed 40 new Okna windows in 2021. West Shore is not honoring the workmanship warranty I paid for through Skyline (20 years), they will not come perform service and they also are not willing to help obtain parts for a window that had a failure. They will not provide service, support, or warranty help at all. I paid $30,000.00 for windows with a lifetime warranty, and 20 year workmanship warranty to receive ZERO support or help. They sent me to the manufacturer, Okna, who also told me they will not provide service or support, and that I have to pay for window components plus shipping. They could not provide a reference to a local service company either. I'm left with a failed window, and no help. Thanks West Shore, you acquired a company and all their customers... leaving them on the curb in the cold. This is just BAD business and customer focus. I got all of my windows- 6 and front door with sidelites, rear sliding door and a bow window removed and installed in a day and a half. While they was quick, they never compromised quality. My father has 26 rentals and has remodeled all of them and said he has never seen as good of job as them. They are more expensive than your other name brand companies but if you do your homework you will find them 5 stars hands down. Charles, Joe, Kenny, maliek and I do believe there was one more. Please forgive me for not mentioning all names but their quality of workmanship and professionalism is top rated. It has been the most painless job I have ever had done. Now to paint an accurate picture of my situation... my home was built by me in 2015 by JP Frizzell in Eaton, Ohio. Westshore found the bow window rotted out by water damage due to the gutters not being pitched correctly, back door had floor damage in the threshold due to water and ALL of the doors and windows had a handful of cotton insulation in them. No shims, no spray foam, not level or correctly mounted. The bow window had a tiny cable stapled on the house frame to hold it. Not 2 cables with proper mounting. Yes, Westshore found my bow window falling out onto the stable bricks. 10 years after a brand new home. So I will end by saying thank you Westshore for an exceptional job well done. People need to be aware West shore home does not do a FULL bathroom remodel. They do the showers,tubs floors , toilets and plumbing. However they will not do any electrical, painting, wallpaper or installation of any upper cabinets such as medicine cabinets. The home owner has to paint, wallpaper and hang cabinets. read more

Our new bath and shower is beautiful. Caulking could be a little neater/nicer but fine. We waited the full 24 hours for drying and began to use it. The day after we started using it we found a wet spot on our dining room ceiling under the tub/shower. We called West Shore and they had somebody out within two hours to stop and fix the leaking. West Shore made arrangements for the ceiling to be repaired on a Saturday so we would not miss any more time from work. I asked for the local manager to give me a call and no one has communicated with us. I appreciate that the problem has been fixed but the trust is gone. Are we going to have further problems? I feel as if the company needs to make things right with us and keep the promises of trust and quality we were given during the sales pitch. read more

After being forced to watch their commercial on their laptop and listening for 20 minutes how great they are and everyone else sucks, finally gave quote. when I said more then I thought price dropped. when I said I'll think about it, price dropped again. when I still said I would think about it the sales pitch ended. Or so I though. Two days later got a call that the sales manager wanted too meet with me. Guess what, another price drop. Good luck even getting a quick and efficient quote. We called West Shore Home since we got an ad in the mail and have a bathroom to remodel. The lady on the phone was less than friendly and you could tell she didn't want to be there. We ended up scheduling a time for a quote from there. A gentleman showed up to our house and had a whole PowerPoint like presentation to show us before even showing us a quote or examples of our future bathroom. He showed us reviews of the company, how they apparently think we can vet them and proceeded to hype up their company for 45 minutes. At this point we cut him off and asked for samples and a quote which he said he could not provide until he finished his presentation (which would have been another 45 minutes apparently). So all in all we told him to leave and ended up getting (quick) quotes from other companies and went with one of those. If you want a salesman approach with a full on presentation about how to look at reviews, this is your place. He also made an effort to emphasize when the company gets a bad review they pester the people who wrote it to make it right so they maintain positive reviews. If you actually have knowledge about vetting a company and your time is important to you, this is absolutely not the place. read more

They promise a complete overhaul of your bathroom in one day and they were finished and out by 3:00 p.m. They did a beautiful job and left our home in pristine condition. West Shore Home came out to provide an estimate for a bathroom remodel. The process took almost two hours with all of the sales pitch. I advised them at the end that I had a more competitive quote and even shared the number with them. Salesperson calls the supervisor who I could hear having a meltdown on the phone. They contact me a day later to ask if a supervisor can come out to "tighten up the quote". I was very clear and advised Shauna that I did not want someone to revisit unless they could match or beat the price (which I gave her) and she assured me that was the case. Visit two is no more successful than visit one and they weren't within a few thousand of the quote I had. Called their customer line to lodge a complaint where I am now on hold and have been for twenty minutes while the "look for a supervisor" (or wait for me to hang up). No respect for homeowners time or space. STAY AWAY!! read more

Just moved here and we got a quote for a bathtub replacement to shower. The quote started at $16,000 for fiberglass panels section unit. They do not do tile. It was easy access to remove existing bathtub. We told the sales rep the quote was way to much. So a few minutes later he comes back with $12,000... Again way over priced. We have been pricing shower units at Home Depot and Lowes. Their nice units are under $1500. Many styles. Fiberglass units are $3000 and less. Their Glass doors for showers are under $600 if we wanted to add it. They tried to get us to 180 month payments of $99. Thats over $18000. So we declined their quotes... We ended up having a plumber with his helper install the shower unit in 2 days. The cost for their labor was $2400. A total cost of labor to tear out and install the shower unit and accessories was $4400 total.. We paid for labor only. The units we were shown by West shore were not of any better quality than Home Depot. If you want to waste your money go ahead. Having a shower in a day is not worth the $16000 price tag. Many other places had different styles showers for under $2500.00 We got quotes for tile also. They were under $5000. If you want to pay $600 hour or what ever it is for labor and standard fiberglass material that's on you. No shower unit costs that much unless its GOLD plated....We are very happy. We cannot recommend this company. There are many good plumbers and contractors that can do this job at a fair price. I'm not sure which West shore they came from. But what I understand from Google and the complaints filed, it does not matter what area. The prices are all the same. Folks there is no rocket science to this. Its a shower. DIY and you save even more...parts are cheap. read more
