We had a fun adventure for dinner yesterday! We did a 6 course tasting menu at West Side Bazaar and the meal was prepared by Mahbobas Kitchen. It was an Afghan dinner and it was delicious and incredibly flavorful. If you have never been to the Bazaar get there! It's like a mall food court with 8 different ethnic restaurants. All of them showcasing amazing food. There are also a few shops there selling soap, clothes, jewelry, Buffalo items etc. The Bazaar is doing more and more events like these and I want to check them out, it was also surprisingly affordable!
4/17/25: An update: Revisited, and tried the Thai "One" for an excellent chicken pad Thai, shrimp spring rolls, and Thai iced tea, and Lao iced coffee with boba. Everything was outstanding, and full of flavor! My husband visited "Egyptian Bites" for their shrimp curry. Although he was warned by the chef it was spicy, we found it to be less so than Tapatio sauce (which is milder than Tabasco). YMMV. It was so good!!
We ate at the Korean place and the Thai place. The Korean place had decent food we ate the bib in bop vegetarian . The Thai place had very good tofu phad se ew the noodles were so well seasoned and had great flavor and texture. We also had the square roll veggie they were interesting and good. The service was good the people worked fast. The ambiance is very calm lots of tables and I love the game selection in the corner with games.
Amazing experience here. Great selection of AUTHENTIC international delights and dishes. You walk into a fun open food court type space surrounded by ethnic restaurants with homemade authentic items. Great variety of food items ranging from snacks, desserts, appetizers to main courses and combo meals. It supports small, local business and allows you to try a variety of international treats. Parking lot across the street with at will donations and street parking. Easily accessible and also offers some ethnic clothes shopping from a few vendors. Highly recommended and very tasty food items. Cash and credit card accepted.

Wow! We had the opportunity to visit the new location of the West Side Baazar. I already knew about the great selection of food. Now they have this shiny new place for you to enjoy the food. The original location was 'cozy'. Here, there's plenty of seating upstairs and down. There's an elevator for anyone who doesn't want to take the stairs. On this visit, I had pho xao from Bamboo Ridge. Very tasty and a huge portion. I had more than enough for dinner the next day. Can't wait to go back & visit the other vendors. Besides street parking, there's a small parking lot next to the building plus a larger lot across the street. 2024-44
Attended a special event where we had an opportunity to sample food from some of the vendors. We decided to buy full dinners. I purchased one of the vendor's daily special, Sesame Chicken. It was delicious. The building is a great open, bright and inviting space with pleanty of seating and an elevator, if needed, to go to the second floor where there are more vendor sand additional table seating. There is a good selection of food, dessert and drink vendors. There is something for everone. There is also pleanty of free parking across the street. We will definately be returning to try other menu items.
I love the concept and creating an opportunity for small restaurant owners. I arrived Thursday evening before 6:30. Parking is available by the building. There were different stalls open and I wasn't sure which one to try. I was tempted by the different cuisines and wished there were smaller dishes each offered to create my own collection. Alas, I landed on a haddock poisson from Malkia & Co. The food was made with care, the haddock cooked well and spinach very flavorful. The plantains offered a hint of sweetness as the starch. It was a lot of food and delightful. There's plenty of seating, with the upstairs providing more seating and home to a bookstore focused on food. I'll check it out again next time I'm in.
I have been to the Westside Bazaar a couple of times, but tonight I was able to have tasters from several businesses as opposed to picking one main course from one vendor. The tasters offered were:Falafel with tahini, beef dumplings, jerk chicken wings, chicken potsticker dumplings, and hummus with pita bread. By far my favorite were the jerk chicken wings; they were juicy with a spicy coating. I did enjoy all of the other tasters. The hummus had a little pizzaz/spiciness. The beef dumplings had a lovely crunch. I was also happy to see that the Bazaar has arranged for a parking lot across the street from the building. It was hard to find an on the street parking space in the past. There is a bike lane and the street is a major bus route. Thank you, Brandon, for arranging this outing with some of the Westside Bazaar vendors.
The Westside bazaar is in a mall-like setup with multiple food stalls. It was very clean and inviting. I enjoy the downtown bazaar on Main St. as well. The samples provided were so tasty. The jerk wings and meat pie from the Jamaican restaurant brought me back to the island. All I needed was rum punch to wash it down! I want to try the oxtail and banana rum cake when we go back. The hummus and falafel from the Egyptian restaurant were so good. I love the smoked paprika flavor in the hummus, and the falafel was moist in the middle and crunchy on the outside. I really enjoyed the consistency of Fava beans in the falafel instead of chickpeas. The flavor was a bit more coriander forward than cumin, and I enjoyed that a lot. Tahini sauce on top was perfect. I ended up buying falafel and hummus to take home to make a pita wrap for lunch! The dumplings, both beef and chicken, were very good, although I prefer steamed instead of deep fried. Dumplings are always a great choice in most places. I can't wait to go back to sample more food, like the chicken shawarma wrap!
The new bazaar is a big improvement over the old one in many ways: bright, well-spaced seating; lots of tables; more restaurants. It was difficult to read the menus b/c they are all posted above each "restaurant" resulting in sore necks. It was also difficult to choose! Finally settled on the Malaysian restaurant, ordering the Lasko soup. What a delicious and satisfying choice! A hearty soup with lots of noodles, chicken, large shrimp, a hard boiled egg, and overall marvelous flavor. truly, good to the last drop.
Supper here last night. First time at the new location. Lovely space. Easy to see from outside and has a ramp approach as well as steps. Quite limited parking; so if you're driving here, best to plan your visit for less busy times. Light and bright inside, and clean. A nice place to lunch or sup, and sure to be a hit on some of our dark winter days. I bought food from three vendors. First was Orso Nero Pizza, I like trying new things and, because I'd never heard of a shishito pepper, that's what I ordered. I should've ordered pizza. Subsequent reading tells me they should have been blistered, have a little char on them to bring out the flavor. The plateful of peppers I was given had some tender peppers, but most seem to have been barely blanched. At the vendor next door to Orso Nero, I saw Fried Eggplant on the menu. Loving eggplant, I ordered that, too. It's probably just me who expects at least a little crispy when expecting fried, but I was disappointed by eggplant that had been cooked in sauce. Tasted good, though. The eggplant left me craving crunchy, so I got Fried Wonton at another vendor. Sorry I didn't get a photo of those beauties. No disappointment there. Next time, though, I will bring some kind of dipping sauce with me as they had only plum sauce. I wish I had started at the other end. After eating, I strolled around checking menus of other vendors. The vendor on the far left, Vietnamese I think, had an eggplant dish that sounded really good. Definitely going back another day. And next time I will make sure to get a slice of Go Nuts Cookie Pie from Manchester Baking . . .
Get the Global Experience all in one place. Malaysian, Congolese, Korean, Jamaican, Egyptian, Classic American Soul food. Plus a wine & beer bar and a bubble tea & smoothie place. What a tough choice: ribs vs. Kim chi vs. crab cakes vs. so much more!! We chose spring rolls, veggie stir fry, and a noodle dish from Malaysia. Everything was DELISH!!! A tall hot $1.95 jasmine tea with honey (steeped from the loose leaves to perfection). And a $25 happy hour bottle of wine to finish here (or take home...). Then there's dessert choices: beignets (10 for $6.50!) or baklava or kunafa or rum cake (oh my!). Warm powdered beignets made their way to our table and disappeared quickly. We chose our table on the main floor near the food counters, then we realized there is sweet balcony seating all open to a bright skylight above it all. Casual, very reasonably priced, simple ingredients and menu items, definitely a place for culinary treats. Music is piped in but has a familiar but appropriately cultural feel. You might even catch the workers dancing! Get here yourself and you'll see what I mean.

I was highly disappointed and afraid of the food I was served. I went to William's Kitchen Korean Comfort Food. I ordered the Spicy Pork dish that comes with rice, lettuce and an egg on top. I get my food served in closed container to when I open to look at my food, I am OVERWHELMED with the smell of SPOILED meat! It was clear and obvious the pork they "prepared" had was rotten, and smell ruined the whole dish. The rice smelled bad, the egg smelled bad, the fresh lettuce smelled bad, all because of the spoiled meat. Taking a lucky guess, they attempted to work off old food into the new batch and failed terribly. They are risking public health/safety for a dollar. I DO NOT RECOMMEND read more

West Side Bazaar is awesome. I came on a Friday for lunch. Although many of the non-food stands were closed, all of the food stands were open. I got a pork bun from 007 Chinese Food, the vegetable combo from Abyssinia Ethiopian Cuisine, and a peach bubble tea from Pattaya Street Food. Everything was delicious, and everyone I interacted with was friendly. There were even a few tables to dine in, and food came out quickly as well. I can't wait to come here again! read more
There are so many food choices in this small, crowded area. This place is great, but makes me little bit nervous while ordering my meal. I've been to the West Side Bazaar many times. Each time I feel much better and braver checking all the menus. Standing too close to the heads of eating customers, I intensively think about what I should have. I want to eat everything and nothing at the moment of my uncertainty. But when I finally know from which part of the world I'll have my lunch or dinner, everything starts to be just fine and relaxing. Waiting for my order number to be called I like to look around and wonder what people are eating because everything looks good and I want the same. How exciting! It's always a good idea to start with some dim sums. Order them first, while you wait for the main dish. These nicely presented steamed goodies are brought to your table with a little plate and set of chopsticks. The last time I had simple shrimp dim sum. The little treat was good, with a mild taste of seafood. The Thai Beef Salad was simply delicious, so yummy! It came with a big pile of white rice and the portion was huge for not even $8. The combinations of spices were unique and unusual. It was rather spicy/hot but mix it with rice and create the taste that works best. You can swap beef for chicken or pork, your choice. I hope to go back to the the West Side Bazaar really soon and write about their food much more. read more
This was my first time here and I'll be back! I enjoyed Puerto Rican, Chinese and Japanese cuisine and bought a cute maxi skirt from one of the Vendors. I've been on a quest to discover more of what Buffalo has to offer this summer and this spot is a must-see for anyone who enjoys trying different food from multiple cultures. I had sushi, tostones, a Chinese pork ball, a barbecue chicken kabob and garlic toast (I brought home leftovers ;)) Everything was delicious and I can't wait to try Egyptian food the next time I'm there! read more
When is the last time you came here? For me it was today. I came with someone who hadn't been here before. But who has lived in Buffalo for longer than it's been open. So if you havnt been, come. Pick up a gift for someone. But yourself a present. Buy yourself lunch. Treat yourself to a sesame cookie. Or terrific dumplings. Or a smoothie. Such a fun stop during a whirlwind visit to Buffalo. Big thanks to Alex L for introducing me to the West Side Bazaar. I'd had this stop bookmarked for quite some time and it served as the perfect lunch stop over the weekend. West Side Bazaar combines two of my favorite things: food halls (aka lots of options under one roof) and ethnic eats like Thai, Vietnamese, Ethiopian, Chinese, Laotian, Mexican and more. It was wild to see how many flavors they could pack into such a small space with a smattering of a dozen tables. The space was bustling during our Saturday midday visit (plan B: carryout!). My feast included fried Lotus cookies from the Laotian booth, Khao Man Gai and black sticky rice with mango and coconut milk from the Thai booth. When I return next, I'll probably order the same thing all over again because it was FABULOUS! The space is not limited to eats. As you enter, you'll find around ten small booths filled with clothing, macrame, jewelry, decor and more. The smells wafting over from the food side will lure you over to the other side after strolling the shops. read more

Cool authentic food stalls with cuisines from around the world. A yummy and unique place to check out if you are in the buffalo area. Only tried the Mexican food stall but their chicken & cheese taco and beef & cheese taco was delicious! Also had their fresh chips with guacamole and queso and loved the thickness of the chips as well as the guacamole! The cheese dip was also very tasty but I had been expecting a white queso and not the yellow cheese dip we were served. It was still good! read more

I give this place 5 stars because of the amount of options they offer. They offer everything from Dimsum food to Thai food to Mexican food. It's a nice place when you're looking for options. The place is half a clothing store and half a food court. They do not require tipping even though they basically bring you the food. However, you clean up after yourself. The cashier at nine&nite was very polite and was able to cater to my taste by excluding bean sprouts in my pork pad Thai. The pork pad Thai was pretty good, they have spice levels from 1-5, I got 4 and it wasn't super spicy but my friend who can't handle spice said it was too spicy. However, the food didn't have as much flavor as I'd like, so if I were only reviewing the food I'd give it a 4 star. We also ordered pork pad Thai, beef pad Thai, pork bun, butter chicken with jasmine rice, and veggie samosas. The butter chicken was okay, but I would not order it again, the pork bun, veggie samosas, and pad Thais; I would order again. read more
This place is a gem! I love that it's food court style with a variety of cuisine to match whatever mood you're in, as well as whom ever you decide to eat with. The pad Thai was delicious and the serving was enough for 2 meals. The boba tea did taste a bit powdery but was refreshing nonetheless. Can't wait to go back and try all the restaurants read more
We stopped by here with some friends on Saturday after lunch at Pho Dollar across the street. It was around 2:30-3pm and the place was ridiculously busy! We went in and walked through the vendor stalls selling jewelry and accessories, etc. some of the stuff looked like homemade items but most of them looked like novelty items you could get from the 99c stores. After stopping at 2 of them for longer than 5 seconds and having the stall attendants stare at me intently while trying to oversell me on their stuff, I was a bit turned off and stopped looking and decided to move onto the food side. Sorry, but I just cannot shop with someone staring at me the entire time, it's me, not them. Moving on... it was hard to look at what the food stalls had to offer since it was so crowded in there. There were tables and people everywhere. I grabbed a menu from the Chinese dim sum place where they offered many of the typical Cantonese dim sum dishes but I couldn't quite tell if they actually make any of them in-house, or if they simply buy frozen ones and steam them up in those bamboo steamers. Because I can tell you right now that most of their menu items - I can go to the Chinese grocery store and find them all in the frozen sections and steam them right up. It's hard to imagine that the stall owners would have the time to source all the ingredients and hand-make everything, and still be able to make a profit off them. I'm not trying to be mean, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with frozen foods, but it would take A LOT more than that for me to want to elbow off the crowd and fight for a table to sit down and eat at, all the while still deal with all the people squeezing by looking and hanging over my food. Despite having absolutely no personal space, I decided to get a bubble tea from one of the stalls. All of the flavorings were powder including green tea milk tea- as in they put in green tea powder with hot water to make it, instead of mixing real green tea with milk to make it. They also don't do the "shake" part of the bubble tea, which - for those of you who aren't familiar with authentic bubble tea - is part of the deal! Perhaps it's not fair since I'm Taiwanese and bubble tea is kinda my thing, but it was definitely the worst bubble tea I've had in a really long time, and reminds me of the 90s when bubble tea was terrible everywhere outside of Taiwan. What saved the day were the lotus flower cookies I also decided to get from the bubble tea stand. They looked so pretty I just had to try them, and now I wish I got more! According to my quick google search - they're a traditional Thai dessert cookie, and are typically made with rice flour, coconut milk, black sesame seeds, etc. I haven't been able to find ready-made ones online - just a bunch of recipes and brass molds to make them with, but I plan on searching the local Asian grocery stores for them, or come back here and get more if I'm in the area again. I understand that this place is for the refugees and backed by charities, so I gave them an extra star for that, but purely from what I have seen and tasted, this would not be a place I'm in any hurry to return to. Perhaps I will change my mind in the future once I've had a chance to try the various food stalls, but for now, i give it a 2.5-3. read more

Great and diverse store/restaurants around Buffalo. A lot of small international store and restaurants service different countries food and products. Participated in the Yelp Taste the World event which led to try different restaurant food. Had the bean buns from 007 Chinese, local Ethiopian food and Vietnam desserts. Overall, great experience trying different countries food. read more
The West Side Bazaar is truly a gem in Buffalo. Inside are several small businesses, each from a different country. You can't get more authentic! I love that there are a variety of food choices and everything I've tried has been great. read more

So much ethnic diversity this place is fascinating, I came here as part of the taste of the world passport to the West Side Bazaar, Abyssinia Ethiopian ,to try a sample dish of Goman, Kikalicha and Mesirwot on rice Pattaya and it was amazing. Someone recently referred to this place as the "West Side Bizarre." I thought that was hilarious, but not as hilarious as a clown that accidentally makes all young children cry while attempting to make them laugh. If you haven't been here, and you live in Buffalo, and you are even remotely cultured and enjoy atypical, exotic experiences, then you are really, really, really, really, really, really, really missing out. This place is amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing. When I pulled up, I thought to myself... nah... this is going to be a let down, isn't it? I mean it had all the makings of a let down. People talked it up as if it were the WSM in CLE or Pike's Place, as if it were Quincy Market in the BOS or STL market in T-Dot, as if it were the RTM in PHI or the C-Bus market. See, I know my market terminologies, yo. I mean it just looked like a charity shop from the outside, and a rather small one at that. Surely this couldn't be as good as all it's cracked up to be? Well yes it very well could be and don't call me Shirley. Inside, are all these stalls (by all these, I mean maybe 8 tops) with all these cool things on sale from various faraway cultures around the world (South American, African, Asian and Aboriginal, only I lied about the Aboriginal). But that's only the half of it. The other half (the half of the Bazaar not near the door) is where s*** gets really good. Because oh my goodness, it's a bunch of exotic foods, the likes of which you will be hard pressed to find in any American city, let alone Italian Irish American German B-Lo Ny. So you've got Ethiopian, Thai, Burmese, Japanese (Crepes from Japan!), Soul Food (which is served by South Sudanese folks along with fresh fruit drinks and South Sudanese specialties), and Peruvian (although the Peruvian isn't around at the moment). I may be missing a few of these. So far I've only tried the fruit drink from the Sudanese, and a sample platter of the Ethiopian, but my goodness... it was (a) one of the best fruit drinks I have ever had... and I know my fruit drinks... Ashker's eat your heart out... and (b) the best Ethiopian food I've ever had, bar none. It's utterly amazing. Every dish on the sample platter is divine. You must get it. So run, do not walk, to Grant Street... bypass La Nova and all your old haunts, you ghost, you... and get inside the WSB and GSF* and WID** and then TML***. TMI? Or TMA****? *Get Some Food **Wolf It Down (like LDC*****) ***Thank Me Later ****Too Much Acronyms****** *****Leonardo CiCaprio ******Grammatically speaking, should be Too Many rather than Too Much, but I wanted to parody TMI. read more
With the food bazaar opening up here, this is one of the most unique and culturally diverse "food courts" in the Buffalo area now. Calling it a food court is a disservice though, since it conjures up images of malls and oftentimes crappy and inauthentic food. This is the real deal. The West Side Bazaar is an entrepreneurial "Incubator" for refugees and talented multi-cultural individuals. It started out as a place for entrepreneurs to sell goods from various countries and just recently evolved to serve up ethnic delicacies from Burma, Ethiopia, Peru, Thai and other places. You'll find some of the best brewed Ethiopian coffee here from Abyssinia and wonderful sushi from Rakhapura Mutee. Pure Peru, despite having their own store, also serves up food here. I've only tried the Abyssinia sushi so far...and wow! It's great. I can't wait to try other food. So happy to have a place like this in Buffalo. If you haven't had a chance to try it out yet, what are you waiting for?! read more

I love coming to the West Side Bazaar. It's possible to sit for a while and try many different things. Shop a bit and get some more to eat! I think everyone knows about 007 - you'll be happy to know they're still making great dim sum. There's loads of goodies -asian soups, dumplings, Laotian cookies. You can get big plates or small ones. Next to the food area are various stalls where you can browse for an addition to your wardrobe. You can't go wrong if you step into the bazaar. read more

Great place that offers takeouts and indoor dining. There are several food stands: Ethiopian, Burmese, Thai, Japanese. The food is delicious, we tried the dumplings crispy Burmese dessert, and Ethiopian dish. We bought sushi, bubble tea, and a takeout of Ethiopian beef dish. The staff is very friendly. I love the concept of the bazaar as a business incubator for immigrant and refugee entrepreneurs, and as far as I'm aware, there's nothing like it outside of Buffalo. I don't feel that I've frequented the individual businesses enough in the bazaar to write reviews under the specific business Yelp listings, but I'll give a brief run-down of the businesses I've tried here: Abyssinian Ethiopian Cuisine and M Asian Halal Foods: The best bets for vegetarian folk. I love the veggie combo platter at Abyssinian, and the Bagan Partha (smoked eggplant) at M Asian Halal. 007 Chinese Food: The vegetable pau was too sweet for my tastes, and sadly there's only one other vegetarian item on the menu. But this place is great because there are pictures of all the items and a list of ingredients, so it's very accessible to dim sum newbies and people concerned about certain ingredients in their foods (e.g., vegetarians, people with food allergies). Gourmet Lao Foods: There are better places for bubble tea; I find that it tastes too sweet and artificial here (it's made from powder). But the fresh limeade is fantastic, so I'm sticking to the fresh drinks from now on. The sesame cookie is good if you want something light and not too sweet for dessert (and pretty to look at before you start eating). The only cons of this place are that the food court could be bigger, and that it's closed on Sundays and Mondays. Regarding the first point, I believe an expansion is in the works, though I don't know when it would actually happen. In the meantime, try to go early if you're going around lunch or dinner, and arrive hungry, because you're going to want to try lots of things. read more

I came here for lunch with a friend. First meal in Buffalo! The boy recommended wings from Anchor but yelp led me here! Thank you yelp! I'm always open to trying new things and this is a great experience for anyone. There are a variety of stalls to choose from (Burmese, Thai, Ethiopian, Indian and Pakistani, Chinese, Lao!) The food is very reasonable and very authentic. She ordered the goat curry from the Burmese spot (great taste, not overpoweringly strong) while I ordered the big bao from the dim sum spot (the size of my iPhone 6, bread is sweet, filling is slightly sweet as well) and butter chicken from the Indian/Pakistani spot (seems like a small portion at first but it was the perfect size! Very smooth and silky sauce. Idk why I thought naan was paratha but it was okay). We both ordered a drink from the Lao drink station and we were pleasantly surprised! The softest boba balls we've ever had. I'm very surprised to find such a large and varied immigrant community in Buffalo. West side Bazaar is a great representation and opportunity for these individuals and families to uplift themselves. I admire their message and their delicious food is just a cherry on top. I can't believe I lived over here so long and I am just now coming here for the first time. I love this section of the neighborhood its filled with so much life and community. You'll notice a few murals tucked away in the nooks and crannies of the neighborhood so keep your eyes peeled for that. Parking may not be the best depending on what time it is so keep a look out parking right in front of the establishment is usually gone first thing in the morning I have noticed. Rite Aid parking lot is right across the street so if your brave just snag a space long enough for you to get your lunch. They do accept cards but on the off chance your order may be really cheap say 5.00 or less you may want to bring cash to avoid the service fee to charge your card (it isn't that much anyhow). Went to Nine & Night Bistro. Loved my food. I tried a #6 the steak with black-pepper rice, a fried egg (I'm a sucker for these) and sauce. The fried egg was PERFECTION, as soon as I broke into it I seen that heavenly yolk running down to the bottom of the plate this made my afternoon. It was amazing and wasn't what I expected the sauce added a nice sweet but salty flavor with a hint of vinegar idk how that sounds to you but it was awesome for me. The steak was cooked to my liking and the sauce was spread evenly over the dish (I despise dry food). I got full pretty quickly even had some to take home. And you can't beat the price $6.99. I would definitely recommend coming here for lunch if you can, the seating is a bit limited I'd say anywhere between 8-12 tables but its tight. Just try and beat the lunch rush tables fill up fast. A nice chill spot for a low key lunch date or maybe warm up for a few before you hop back on the bus? Either way I'd recommend. Can't wait to go back. read more

On the website it says they close at 7 on Friday's but on yelp it says 8? Will be coming in from out of town for my first visit and not sure what time I will be arriving and don't want to miss out on this place!
