Relatives took us to Kostas Greek restaurant for an early meal. The place has been around since 1977. It serves Greek, American, seafood and all day breakfast. It is a large restaurant with tables and booths. We were given water and menu upon been seated. There were two orders of Greek burgers (1/2# burger) with feta cheese, vegetable pita, spanakopita and a sausage sandwich. Good service and wait staff filled waters when empty. I wanted to give another review because I've been to Kostas a few times since my last review and I've had good experiences. Food is always consistently good, my go to is the open chicken souvlaki salad and the chicken is always seasoned well, loads of feta cheese and fresh lettuce. The steak and eggs breakfast is always good too. This place is always busy, the servers are great and everyone is nice. Parking is the only issue here, I park around the corner and enjoy a little walk, good to get those steps in especially after a meal anyway. Calling ahead is highly recommended. I like sitting in the indoor patio area to soak in some sun and watch people walking by. read more

It's a shame we haven't been here before but that's definitely going to change moving forward. Walking in to that beautiful restaurant we were greeted like we have been lifelong patrons of this establishment. That treatment carried on with the staff being so incredibly attentive and polite, our waiter may very well be the best I've had in a long time. He had our drink request in no time and shortly afterwards he was back for our meal requests. The misses wanted to try something outside the usual and ordered the eggs Benedict. While not her usual choice they were cooked perfectly and the portion was very generous. The little yelper ordered the usual chicken tenders, they were cooked to perfection as were the fries.They got a big thumbs up from her. I got the chicken souvlaki salad, a heaping bowl of fresh veggies , feta and grilled chicken (a very generous amount of it too I may add). I literally had 3 meals off of this today. We visited Kostas for lunch. It was delicious! My companion ordered the moussaka and Greek potatoes, which was enough for at least two meals. I ordered the gyro platter. I should have taken a picture, but I was so excited to eat, I forgot. I needed up with thee plates: one with a giant fresh salad and a heap of gyro meat on it. The second was piled with Greek potatoes. The third had a bowl of tzatziki and pita. So delicious! And we have leftovers for days. The restaurant was beautiful, and the employees were very nice. Our waitperson was not very attentive, but I could tell most were. Since we weren't in a big hurry, it was fine. read more

With friends visiting from Spain, returned to Kosta's last week. Every dish was delicious, the service was, again, terrific, and my Spanish friends were amazed at the portion sizes. Waitress brought to-go boxes for them without being asked. Much better Greek food than they'd had recently at a Greek restaurant near Rochester. What everyone had is reflected in the photos. Because it was a Friday, they didn't have their chicken lemon soup; instead they had a seafood chowder in a tomato base which was hearty and flavorful. My son and I came here on New year's day and it was a 5 minute wait to get seated, we was greeted by a wonderful waitress. I ordered 2 eggs over easy, 2 pancakes, bacon, Texas toast, coffee, and the best and freshest home fries, my son ordered the lamb chop breakfast, those lamb chops we well seasoned and delicious. It was one of the best meals that I had in a loooong time. For them to be busy it wasn't noisy, the ambiance was great. I'm looking forward to going back. We shared a Gyrodillas, which has gyro meat, sautéed onions, peppers, feta and tzatziki. Slightly different from a quesadilla which has cheddar and sour cream and a choice of steak or chicken. Peculiarly our Gyrodillas was served with salsa and sour cream on the side too. I think the main difference is the seasoning of the meat and the tzatziki. It is listed as an appetizer, but was definitely enough to share. There were 4 large pieces. It was very tasty. The peppers were not cooked/sautéed. I loved Kostas. That's why we always go there lol. Our food was delicious. The timing our food arrived was also impressive because it was a large party but they are so accommodating. And our server was so attentive and kind. My husbands first steak came out overcooked. He let them know and they made a brand new one for him. No questions asked. I'm a big fan of their breakfast! Stopped and picked up lunch time. First, I wish you can order on line as when I called place order, I was hold for longer than I'd like to be. Of course went with the chicken solvaki, always yummy. Also got a steak panini, this actually appeared to be a steak melt vs a Panini, and not even a crunchy melt. The bread was barley toasted and definitely no panini press marks. Will say though the steak was tasty, had a bit too much bell pepper and onions largely chopped for my liking, but still will say it was ok. Also tried the Tiro burger, this was my favorite. Burger was cooked as requested and well seasoned. The burger was actually larger than the bun and I wasn't mad about it. The fries were just okay. My family loved the fries, but I like my fries little golden and some crunch, these were pale and no crunch. The staff was very friendly during pick up, and food was ready fairly quick. read more

Got sat in an absolutely PAAACKED restaurant on Wed lunch, and saw almost everyone eating a huge salad (the Souvlaki salad). And that's what we got. I got mine with shrimp and hubs got chicken. I liked how the dressing was already on the table so you can customize your salad! However it was a little hard to pour and I had to shake it for a while to get the herbs mixed in. Meats were perfectly cooked, shrimps were large and bouncy, but only came with 5 or so. Also got the grilled zucchini and squash in the fresh veggies section, it was so good. Went recently for an early dinner. Ordered Chicken souvlaki breakfast. It comes with homemade home fries, 2 eggs, and chicken souvlaki and toast. The entire meal was salt-less. The potato was plain potato drenched in unflavored oil, sopping. The chicken was under seasoned and dry. The toast had unsalted butter on it. Overall very disappointed with the food. Service was okay, not great. Clientele was older people who I assume live close by or are used to coming here and therefore don't care about food quality. Parking is horrendous, and worse in winter given the ice buildup. I hadn't been in over 10 years, came back and won't plan to come back again. There are better places to spend your money. read more

We were happy to find Kostas as they could accommodate our large group and have an extensive menu of savory Greek classics and sweet breakfast treats. It's not the best Greek food, but in a region lacking freshness, a Greek salad was exactly what I was craving. The souvlaki dinner is an enormous portion that could easily be labeled as "for two," though I was happy to have my leftovers as a filling lunch the next day. The Greek salad was good, though I prefer a moist, crumbly feta to the dry shreds, and one Kalamata olive on a massive Greek salad seems like something your would scold you for. Meanwhile, each person gets a mountain of potatoes as a side. The sliced grilled chicken breast was nicely seasoned, but a tad dry so I preferred the gyro meat. As for the sweeter items, the French toast seemed to be a hit, as was the Monte Cristo sandwich. Our server was patient and very friendly, despite our sometimes demanding group. Unfortunately, the busboys were a bit too eager to clear our table and we felt rushed to finish eating and leave. Hard to beat the value of the Greek specialty dinners, so despite a few minor flaws, I'd certainly return for those and maybe to try some of the other items this NY diner inspired spot has to offer. read more

We've been going here for years and overall have always had very positive experiences in terms of food and service. It's been a go-to for casual or later-in-the-night outings. Also a great place for when family comes to visit because there are a lot of different options on the menu. My only complaint is that they absolutely never accommodate reservations of any kind. We had a particularly special event and the deciding person wanted to go here, but we couldn't because they wouldn't accommodate anything other than walk-in at dinner hour on a Friday. So we did that event elsewhere. But for casual outings and when you don't mind waiting, this is still a very solid choice. read more

One of my absolute favorite restaurants. I always order the chicken souvlaki dinner. The feta used for the salad is always really fresh and tangy and it's not the traditional crumble every other Greek place uses, but it's shredded. The chicken is delicious and always tender with great flavor. And the lettuce is always crisp and fresh! The portions are extremely generous when you eat in at the restaurant. Portions are a bit smaller when you get take out, but still good sized. Their lemon soup is delicious too. I strongly recommend the souvlaki dinner! read more
