International House Buffalo is a vibrant and welcoming space for all ages. While the main entry point is Le Flamant Rose/Pink Flamingo Bar, there are five kitchens on-site where the friendly staff serves delicious ethnic cuisine Tuesday through Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The exception is La Divina Tacos, where you can enjoy their delicacies until midnight, as well as drinks from Le Flamant Rose, which opens at 4 p.m. Nile River with South Sudanese Cuisine, Pattaya Street Food with Burmese/Thai, Abbysinia Ethiopian Cousin, Pinoy Boi with specialities from the Philippines, and already mentioned above everyone's favorite La Divina Tacos. All in one spot. After renovation and new management, this place got some positive lift. Are you feeling playful! I saw ping pong tables, bumper pool, darts and some pinball tables (or just one, not sure). The atmosphere is casual, whether you're sitting at the bar on ultra-comfortable pink stools, sipping a dirty martini, or hanging out with friends playing ping-pong. It's a great spot for lunch, dinner, or having a drink. Perfect for a date, or meeting with a group of people. This place in downtown Buffalo is definitely worth trying.

We had the pleasure of eating here last night with a few friends. It's a great place to try a variety of different foods. You have a choice of Ethiopian. Burmese, Thai, & Mexican, amongst other choices. Our table was full of a variety of items. I personally had Goat curry from Nile River, a Sudanese dish and some Limpias from Pinoy Poi, a Filipino restaurant. Also tried chicken gufuma from the Ethiopian restaurant Abyssinia. Everything was so good. The place is bright and welcoming with a bar upfront and game tables near the back entrance. Can't wait to go back to try a few more dishes. 2025-85

Had a wonderful evening here with friends, gabbing away over delicious food from each vendor! It is a clean and inviting space with cozy lighting. You can order at as many places as you like; they will give you a buzzer that will let you know when your food is ready (they are numbered, so remember which number goes to which place you ordered from). On this visit, I ordered a crunchy roll from pattaya and nachos with chicken from La Davina! The portions were plentiful, with leftovers going to my kiddo at home which he was pleased with. I enjoyed both and would gladly eat both again and trust switching up my orders too. The wait for food is not long at all. There is a parking lot on the back side you can pay to park in. I personally take advantage of free street parking but I know a parking lot can make people feel a better sense of security so the choice is certainly yours! There is a bar here too. Ping pong tables. Some arcade games. It's a nice option to really relax and enjoy the company of others without feeling like you need to eat and leave, as well as to expand your palate! Eat, drink, and be merry :)

Feeling peckish and you're not decided on dinner? Stop in to the International House (formerly Expo Market). You can try a little bit of everything. Today I had the tea leaf salad from the Thai/Burmese kitchen Pattaya Street Food. A very good tea leaf salad, a generous portion and it was really enough for two people. Service was quick enough I could eat in on my lunch hour. It can get a bit noisy at times but on my Tuesday afternoon visit it was very relaxing.

First time eating here since the remodel. Met some friends for dinner. There is a great selection of International foods. It was hard to pick just one so I got food from two different food stands. Both dishes were delicious, not only for dinner that night but there was enough to take home for dinner the next night. We will be returning to try other International dishes.

My stomach had immense instant pain after eating the food. I had the Rice Noodle Salad with Tofu. It just wasn't good, I couldn't eat it. It was very eggy and reminded me of packaged ramen. I also tried the curry with I didn't care for either. To me, it tasted a lot like shrimp which I don't like. I tried a little of the Ethiopian patter which was alright. I should've just gone with the sushi there cause the California Roll sample piece was the best thing I ate. 3/5 stars because my family seemed to enjoy the food greatly.

They brought me a heavy plate which I had to stand and hold while I ate. I would recommend some high tops placed around the establishment. I will say its a very nice atmosphere. While there, it was live music being played. Decor is elegant. Reminds me of a gatsby theme. The tacos were tasty. Id return for an event but most likely would not be a first choice for places to go.

There was live music on a Friday night, which was nice. The music was R &B old and new school. It was slightly loud, which was not a problem for us, but if you are not a fan, maybe not go when there is live music.. We had reservations, which I would recommend seeing the space is small. When entering, it took us little time to get acknowledged and seated, but after that, the service was good. The server was very attentive and super friendly. The food is small plates. When reviewing the limited menu, I was a little shocked at the prices. I thought 32 bucks for crab stuffed salmon was pricey, but after eating it, I was not mad at all. They were also a very nice size. It was the star dish at the table. Read a lot of reviews where they were out of items from the limited menu. I have to say the same happened tonight. We arrived about 2 or so hours after opening, so that was disappointing, but I guess it just means I have to go back. Along with the hot honey stuffed salmon, we also tried the fried oysters. They were delicious. Their remoluades and hot mayo sauces were soooo good. We also ordered the crab cakes, again amazing. Just the right crab to filler ratio topped with great remoulade. Then, lastly, we ordered the sweet chili chicken eggrolls. After the other items we had, this by far was underwhelming. Maybe if we tried them first as they were nice size, filled nicely and fried to perfection, but the filling was not very flavorful. It sat on a bed of a cabbage with spicy mayo, which was very good. So, if you got a bite with that, it helped flavor it up. The drinks were very good. They also have a nice stocked bar. If a bourbon fan they had a nice selection. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars as we did really enjoy is that they add an 18 percent gratuity on tables of ONE or more people. I am not a fan of that. It doesn't encourage the service to be good. Although we did have great service and I added more to the tip. That was just a turn-off for me. As anywhere downtown parking can be a pain, I recommend just going into the ramp on Franklin and not even trying to find street parking. The ramp is less than a 2 minute walk.

The Lobby Bar has a very classy old school feel without being pretentious and over the top. The bartender was friendly and fun. The drinks are reasonably priced and plentiful. Someone mentioned that it's kind of tucked away and tough to find, and I actually loved that part. I felt like I was discovering some little treasure. The interior is very old school cool, and I could have settled into those huge leather couches all night. (Except they close at 9pm on weeknights so I guess they'd kick me out.) The bartender was funny and friendly, and we lucked out that it was happy hour, buy one/get one. We didn't actually go back up for our free drinks, so when we returned our chips and cashed out, she only charged us for one drink instead. She didn't have to do that, and it was really cool that she did. Small crowd, very quiet, dark and atmospheric. Really, this is my ideal place. If I lived downtown, this would be my go to.

Nice size sandwich for a late lunch, as I took half my meal home for later. I added the brussels sprouts which were both sweet and savory. My guest had the salmon Ceasar salad that they enjoyed. Bathrooms are outside of the restaurant in the lobby of the hotel. They were clean and offered full privacy in each stall with doors that went all the way to the floor with no separation slots. The owner is very friendly and attentive to his customers and what's going on in and outside. Security here is nice but pretty tight that's always a big plus for me. The dress code is business/night scene casual. If you don't follow the dress code you may find yourself having a hard time trying to get in. The inside aesthetic looks great, two bars one in the front one in the back, at least 3 VIP bottle sections, and a few tables and chairs. Plenty of room for dancing and they even have a outside patio for the summer months. The arts event's and mixers thrown here are so much fun and very engaging would give those alone 5 stars. I still need to come here and catch them while the kitchen is still open. The drinks are a tad pricey and it doesn't seem like they carry a wide selection of liquors and cocktails. This bar (among a few others) still caters to the early 20's-30's crowd which is great because downtown/chippewa has undergone quite a change within the past few years I'm happy MES has been able to survive it. I'll be back.
