The drink menu was also eclectic, and they'll make any drink a mocktail, which is good for the DD. Open mic was full of talented weirdos and one excellent duo, so if you're into that scene, check them out!

Nicely seasoned with a fried egg on top. K had the giambotta vegetarian version. We both enjoyed it very much. They had a number of tables going and there is always a few at the bar. The place is a bit eclectic and whoever is doing the kitchen is thoughtful in the preparation and the presentation. This is also a great place to just stop for a drink or two and unwind.

The food is very good, especially the dips, which come in generous portions with lovely bread. But a few comments I've noticed myself or heard from other fans from the neighborhood. It's too sunny sitting by the windows at certain times. Some kind of window treatment is needed for those seats. The tables are 5 inches too close together. It makes it hard to walk to or from your table. There is nothing absorbing the noise. I thought this was an age related comment, but whenever I've been there the average age has been above 40, so if that's a large part of your client group, maybe figure out how to absorb some of the clatter, those window treatments mentioned above might help with that. We like to talk over our meals. The service is sporadic. For example, recently our mains arrived just as the apps had been placed on the table. Another visit it took forever to get the dips, and it wasn't that crowded then. It could be they don't have enough servers? Not sure. But it was odd. And we felt rushed as a result. It also seems like they needed the dishes back because they kept trying to take them when we were not finished, and no, we were not holding up the table, we were early for our reservation and didn't linger. I don't know why the lunch and dinner menus are so different. Can't they be combined into one? 3 stars, I'll be back, it's good food, but they could benefit from a little more thought about the "customer experience", which detracts from the food.

Our waitress was super kind and helpful. With a large group she handled us very well. She even split the bill multiple ways which we appreciated since I know that can be a pain. They forgot our friend's rice dish so she sat there for a while with no meal while the rest of us ate. After a while we notified the staff and they apologized and brought it out quickly and even took it off her bill without her asking which I was very impressed with. Most places would not do that. They did also charge .50 for going up a spice level which was interesting but not a huge deal. Also be prepared to sit for a while. We were a large group so understandable things take a while. We were there for a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes and that was just from the time we sat until we got the check. It seemed like our waitress was in charge of most of the restaurant. Besides those few things that went wrong I thought the service and quality of food made up for it.

They are homemade and perfectly salted. The green salsa was great and had a good amount of heat but wasn't overpowering as a medium option. We ordered a couple of al pastor, barbacoa, spare rib, and braised beef tacos. They were all so good. I love how they double up on the shells too. Makes me feel better that I hopefully won't spill or have to scoop up as much after each bite. The vibes in here are immaculate. Everyone was so friendly and it was a great dinner before the concert.
