When I called her about a large bill I received for that appointment, she claims that she would never say what she said, insinuating that I am lying. I was given options to pay a cash rate but every time it came up, the cash rate got more expensive. It started at $300, went up to $350 and now the bill has been sent to collections as $400. I shouldn't have to pay anything as I was told the insurance was straightened out. If it were I would've had a $0 copay. Dr. Phillips, while nice during his appointments, will not get involved in billing issues. Apparently, he would rather just send disputes to collections, wrecking his patients credit. Furthermore, every appointment I have had here, I waited over an hour past the appointment time before I was seen. I highly recommend finding care elsewhere.

I waited 2.5 hours to be seen after my appointment. I paid the $35 co-payment on site. Apparently they should have charged me $40, but instead of a $5 dollar balance, they double-billed me another $35 copay. When I called to clarify the situation, Melissa H. was very rude and said she would not help me, and I had no other choice but to pay. I asked to speak to Dr. Phillips and she said Dr. Phillips was not interested in talking to me. A couple weeks later they sent me to collections with a $60 bill. How did a $5 balance turn into $60? Read the negative reviews and don't make the same mistake I did; find another practice.

AND quick--I got right in. And the end result is that one day later I can see better then I have in months based on their diagnosis and following the after care instructions. I came here because they took my insurance and my eye doctor's office that I have had since I was 10 years old doesn't. Long story short--I think I found myself a new eye doctor. He went to my mom's funeral who was also a long time patient - I'm guessing this isn't something he does often, but his schedule allowed it this time, and he made it happen. As my supply of contact lenses dwindled, I knew I was overdue for an appointment at the optometrist. My wife and I've been coming to this MyEyeDr on Weber Rd in Bolingbrook for a couple years now since it's close by and they have a reasonable copay for exams, as well as prescription renewal with a mail-in rebate. I'm honestly surprised at the low rating here (2.2 out of 5*, ouch!) In fact, 15 of the 24 reviews have been 1 star! People seem to grouse about poor communication and appointment scheduling, as well as not accepting certain insurance, but my experience couldn't have been more pleasant. I scheduled online with Dr. Vairagi Patel and they called me the day before my appointment to confirm. I was a bit late to arrive but still within the grace window. Dr Patel was very friendly and I felt treated as a valued client, and a previous visit with Dr Kasmer went equally smoothly. Come to find out, my prescription didn't change (I still have the same lousy eyesight) and they recommended monthly contacts instead of bi-weekly ones. I even got to stick my face inside a U.F.O! (it was actually a retinal scanner whosamabobber, resembling a larger version of the neuralyzer from Men in Black) The checkout process took a little longer than normal, but afterwards I picked up a free pair of sunglasses (new aviators, sweet!) and was on my merry way. * TL;DR * Why so much shade for the optometrist? They're just trying to help you see stuff better. I've given Lenscrafters and Pearl Vision my business in the past, but they both pale in comparison to MyEyeDr. I can count on professionalism and honest opinions without trying to be sold a pair of Burberry glasses. When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted kindly and didn't have to wait hit more than 10-15 minutes while an exam room opened up. Dr. Saras was friendly and knowledgeable. I was able to get a year's worth of contacts for less than I paid for two boxes of contacts through 1-800-CONTACTS so that was a huge win. I also got a pair of FREE sunglasses before I left! I loved the experience and will definitely keep coming here for my yearly eye exam.
