(+) Fast service. There were 2 ahead of me but I got out of there in a reasonable amount of time. (+) They had a tv on and magazines in the waiting room. They were ancient issues which made me laugh, Motor Trend or Car and Driver from the early 2010's. (+) Paid my registration renewal fee and come to find later I got a notice that I also need to do a smog check. Brought the slip in and once my car passed it's sent out electronically. Easy peasy. (+) Learned that they can even handle title transfers here (for a small added fee) compared with alternate options like AAA or DMV. Would've been nice to know when I sold my last car to a friend of mine. Just make it simple if you're the seller and bring a supporting document (for example, your registration). I went to inquire on a smog check and the man was so rude and disrespectful. He wanted me to park my car and very sarcastically he started shouting - don't you see there's a parking there and there and there. He was belittling and rude. Once I got to the receptionist she was also curt and rude. So I decided not to stay and go elsewhere. I went to Simi Test Smog Center instead and they were the complete opposite - super helpful and kind. West Valley should learn from their customer service - go there instead. read more

My family brought their cars here for years to get our cars smog checked. I am now doing the same with my vehicle. Not only can you get your car smog checked in a reasonable amount of time, they can also process your vehicle registration for you for a nominal fee. If you process the registration when you get your smog check, they will also send in the registration on your behalf. The value of this process is worth is for me! They have a clean, air conditioned waiting room, knowledgeable staff, plenty of comfortable seating while you wait, and quick service. They are also open Saturdays as of September 2023, which is helpful for most who work during the week. read more

I needed my car smog checked. Looked on Yelp and found this place. With all the good reviews, they must be good, right? Here's what you need to know: -- They take no appointments, it is first come first served. -- Once you check in and they get your car, it takes about 10 minutes. -- They have a $29 coupon on their website, plus they charge the certificate fee of $8-ish dollars, plus an electronic transfer fee. My total was $44. -- You need your DMV renewal form and they will handle sending your smog certificate directly to the DMV. -- If you want, for an additional charge of about $20, they will process your DMV registration for you. -- They highly discourage the use of credit cards. They prefer cash or debit and will thank you for paying that way. They have a sign up above the register stating this "policy". My experience today was fine, the guys were pleasant, and service was fast. I was in and out in about 20 minutes since there was one guy ahead of me. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of the questionable sign posted about the purchase limits to using credit cards. read more

Highly recommend! I just moved here from out of state and took my 2 cars in for smog checks. One of them couldn't be tested because of a computer issue, and instead of just sending me packing, they spent significant time helping me figure out what the issue might be and recommending solutions. This place is friggin amazing! I looked on Yelp to find a place to take my Dad's 1999 mini van for a smog. It recently had the catalytic converter replaced, and I only drove it about 80 miles, so wasn't sure if it would pass. I got there right at 8 AM today, so they took me right in. Everyone here was so nice. I really like the fact they can also give you your registration tags on the spot, for only 22.00. Mention Yelp to get your smog discount. I was in and out within 30 minutes. They even put the new tags on the license plate for me. They go above and beyond, in their customer service.
