BJ's Automotive took on the job of finding why my Camaro had intermittent starting issues that 2 other automotive places had failed to solve, including a local Chevy dealer. BJ's had my car almost 2 weeks and diligently tried various possible solutions, all the while trying to keep cost down. They were finally able to solve the problem, and I am grateful that I can now safely be on the road again. The owners were diligent, very patient, and kept contact with me throughout the entire process. I additionally found them to be caring individuals when they stressed to me how important it was that I replace my badly worn tires that would likely result in a life-threatening accident. BTW they do not sell tires, so they had nothing to gain. I will be going back again. read more

We have always owned four cars in our family and have been taking them all to BJ's Automotive for over 20 years. In this time span, they have taken care of at least 10 different vehicles, and in each case they have treated our cars like their own. They know the history of each vehicle better than we do, and in most, if not all cases (even when our cars have been under warranty) their pricing and service is far cheaper and effective. I've been driving by BJ's for years taking the back way to traffic on LA Ave. my Lexus needed a 55,000m service and Firestone would have taken 10 days as well as a competitor to BJ's to take the car. I called BJ's on Friday and took the car in first thing am Monday. Within an hour the service was complete with recommendations for the next 5000 mile service. They don't compete on price but you get what you pay for. Sue was thorough, patiently explained their business philosophy. I called BJ's after driving to work and seeing my 'check engine coolant - pull over safely' light come on. I was a few miles from work so I went in. Spoke with Sue when I called and asked if I could pop in at lunch to have my fluid levels checked. She let me know her teams lunch time and said I was welcome to come in for them to take a look. I arrived at the shop at 1:30 and was greeted by Sue. I pulled my car into the stall and both she and one of her mechanics took a look. My level was barely under the full line but they topped it off and filled my washer fluid too! All of this was done as an act of courtesy as they did not 'do anything' really. I absolutely will be back when I need service. I'm always a huge fan of small community based businesses. I hightly recommend based on the exceptional service provided to me. read more

First and foremost, Sue is phenomenal. She's so lovely, efficient, and consistent with her communication, and made sure I fully understood everything on my bill and every potential issue with my vehicle- which is an achievement, because I am a little hopeless when it comes to cars. This shop's pricing is great, their communication is great, and they're fast and flexible with getting you right back in the road. Onto the details! I initially brought my car in for an oil change and alignment fix. Based on what steering issues I described, Sue let me know up front that it could be something beyond the alignment, and I said that was fine as long as we figured out the problem. The team did an inspection on the car and didn't find anything else wrong with it, just did that alignment fix and changed my oil. The steering issues are completely fixed and the car is working like a dream! I am fully aware that I'm probably an easy target for less honest mechanics, given I don't know much about cars, and they easily could've made up something else wrong and I would've paid for it to be 'fixed.' We also brought in my partner's car, which hasn't gotten maintenance in years and the heat guard got partially ripped off the car in a recent storm. The car is still being fixed as I type this, but I was fully expecting a several thousand dollar maintenance/repair quote after their inspections and diagnostics- and was pleasantly surprised that it ended up being much lower than expected. We've also been having an issue with the TPMS sensors on the car going off constantly (every 2-3 seconds they seem to come online again and warn about bad pressure), and other mechanics have told us there is nothing wrong with it- they reset the sensors and sent us on our way. We mentioned this to Sue, who immediately identified that the sensor batteries were probably dying, based on the car's service record. At our kind of dumbfounded expressions, she went on to patiently explain how tire pressure sensors work and their life cycle, and made a note for the team to take a closer look. I'll do my best to remember and update as I continue to use this shop, but I'm pretty excited to have found a shop that doesn't leave me feeling stupid and my wallet feeling extremely light. read more

If I can give BJ's Automotive and their staff an extra star I would. Their staff and techs are more knowledgeable than the dealership I tried to use. I got a quote for over 3K at the dealership, but with their techs due diligence, they were actually able to resolve the problem for 1/3 of the price! Not to mention Sue kept us updated every step of the way making this process very smooth and stress-free. I definitely will be coming back, this is my new shop in the area without a doubt. I have a 1998 BMW Z3 and the windows were sticking. I checked with many auto repair shops to see if they could fix the issue which I knew was that the rails for the window lube dried out after 25 years. The lady at BJ's was extremely helpful and friendly. She suggested that I use silicone lube spray down into the windows and see if that helps. It did!!! Couldn't ask for better service! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and does an amazing job diagnosing, explaining and repairing issues. We needed a tune up for our commuter so we brought our car in and had it checked out. Sue and the staff were extremely helpful in explaining the repairs needed and also notified us of a potential transmission issue. They gave us a heads up of what to look out for and a schedule of when to bring it in and have it checked again. They easily could of done the transmission work, but they were honest and knew it would be covered under our warranty with Subaru. Sue helped us contact Subaru to make sure the work would be covered. I took my last receipt from the dealer who did an oil change and then wanted to do a list of repairs.
