Just picked up my 3 custom recovered barstool cushions and we could not be happier!! They look great and have thick, comfy new padding!! A night and day improvement from the cheap and cheery DIY job I had done myself with fabric and staples as a temporary fix when one of my kittens saw that an edge was coming apart! They are perfect, completely like new and reasonable at $50. each for custom cushions. I provided my own cat-safe faux leather and there was much more extra material left over than expected, which I'll have on hand for any damage down the road, fabtastic! I had started the process to have my chairs reupholstered and I brought the swatch of fabric to Steve at West Valley Upholstery. He could not have been more helpful or accommodating. His quote for the fabric (Charlotte) was 17% less than another local upholstery company and the other material I needed he sold me for 60% less than the other place quoted me! When I placed my order with Steve he was extremely knowledgeable and advised me of exactly how much fabric I would need as well as the other products. I was told that it would take 5 business days to get what I ordered and got a call right on time that my order was in & ready for pickup. If I had originally started the process with Steve I would definitely have used West Valley to do all the work from start to finish. I spoke to one of his long time customers and she also had only wonderful things to say about West Valley Upholstery and the quality of their work. The office is nicely laid out with 100's of beautiful fabrics, color & brands to choose from. This place is a gem. In the future I will only use West Valley and I highly recommend them if you need to have upholstery done or if you need the materials only. If you have Brown-Jordan sling material patio furniture (We have 11 pieces) that needs recovering these guys are half the price and the work is VERY HIGH QUALITY. Beautiful, straight seams and very taught fit. I'm super picky and I'm very happy. Also had several other indoor pieces recovered and it was all equally well done. We were referred to West Valley Upholstery for warranty service on some patio furniture by Pacific Patio in Agoura Hills, and couldn't be happier. Steve and his crew were incredibly easy to work with, accommodating our crazy schedule for pickup & delivery. His guys even came back to pick up another patio chair to see if they could match the color (they did!). Steve kept us in the loop at all times, calling with updates on project progress, and to offer us delivery options. It's quite evident that the crew carefully disassembled the furniture before applying the new finish (metal springs had no trace of the new finish on them), and worn plastic bumpers were all replaced with new. Steve saved me and my yard design. I'd purchased a very nice couch set from Oasis in Malibu. Within a year, the seams all tore and big brown spots that would not wash out were appearing Oasis lied and told me it was because I had not washed them enough, putting me through the charade of feeling different parts of the cushion in an effort prove it became brittle because I did not spray it enough. More to tell but it would take too long. The important thing is that I found Steve at West Valley Upholstery through a most gracious referral from Pacific Patio. Steve correctly diagnosed the problem within minutes, MINUTES, that they'd been sewn with single ply thread not rated for outdoor. Also that the seams were not folded over before sewing since there was no piping. As for the brown spots, the material - yes, Sunbrella - was burning from the sun! The set is on a patio overlooking the ocean. I have dozens of Sunbrella cushions in the same environment and never had a burn. I decided Steve should recover everything!!!! Miraculously, Steve was able to put his finger on a beautiful multi-tone turquoise and ginkgo (see pic), rich in texture material which perfectly pulled together my unusual patterned umbrella trio. I was worried. Would it be too intense? But Steve was confident. The result is over the top fabulous, cozy, comfortable, INVITING. Seriously perfect, my photos don't do it justice. Steve also found Oasis had not wrapped the cushion interiors with promised weatherproofing. He also recovered 4 poolside lounge chair cushions with the same wonderful, comfortable top quality result and, of course, with the waterproofing liner so they will quickly dry after a storm. Highly, highly recommended. Will never go anywhere else!!!! read more

I actually went here after seeing some of the reviews on yelp. I ordered a Louis style chair from Pottery Barn on a July 4th weekend sale when they were trying to get rid of old inventory. I loved the chair but hated the fabric (white with a red strip down the center). Also wasn't crazy about the color of the wood (natural). At the time, I had just bought a new antique writing desk that was mahogany. I took it to West Valley and Steve was very helpful. I told him what type of color I was looking for (deep purple) and he helped me find a sample I liked and then I brought a drawer from my desk over and he matched the wood. The result is a beautiful chair that I know no one else has and they finished it in a week. Definitely recommend this place! read more

No longer worth while. We paid $195 each to have the slings replace on two chaise lounges. When they were returned, the slings were replaced but no attempt had been made to clean the frames. West Valley said that they never agreed to clean the frames. Just that they would vastly overcharge to simply replace the slings. Can not recommend this rip off joint. read more

We will never return here...My husband I visited and got a price on a back of a business card for a 4-item set, only the price was vague and didn't spell it out.I returned a month later with 3 of the items, walking out with a detailed estimate at the same price for 3 items. I realized a few weeks later that I had forgotten the 4th item when we cleared a room where it had been buried (we were moving things around at the time for reconstruction). We called to ask for some kind of consideration but they would have none of it. We tried again when we picked up the 3 items and they would not budge. To add insult to injury, we had found a place literally two blocks away that would do it for @$350 cheaper, but I opted to go with WVU because our 3 items sat with them for a couple weeks while we chose another fabric and I felt bad. Lesson learned. We are honest people. It was their business decision. We will take our business elsewhere and they lost a customer for life. read more
