Coventry Greenway - Doggie bags and waste disposal, plus a trash bin, available at the trail head

A childrens playground is on the front lawn of the library (full sun) and picnic tables are in the shade by the trailhead. Trash bins are also available here. Facilities are available in the library vestibule during business hours. A short, paved trail from the parking lot leads to the main trail. The reservoir will be to your right where you can fish or swim. The trail to the right is very shady in summer with trailside horse paths and ends before the CT state line in the village of Summit. (Horse trailer parking is on Pine Haven.) The path turns to a dirt tract in the woods at Summit and picks up in CT as a cleared dirt trail. Turning left leads to downtown West Warwick and is more sunny and urban. Pedestrians walk on the left, cyclists ride on the right, facing pedestrians. Bicycles yield to pedestrians. Pets must be on leash and animal waste must be removed and disposed of in a waste bin. Trail is paved throughout RI with connections into PVD if you'd like to go that far, where part of the trail is surface roads. Parking area has some shaded spots in summer. There are many rural road crossings on trail and part of the trail is close to Flat River road. Easy and convenient location for accessing a nice, rural section of trail.

We are looking for, among other things, a smaller tent (ours is huge) that we can easily lug around with us and REI has a large selection. We signed up for their membership several years ago. Just tell them your phone number when making a purchase and you get credit for the purchase. We picked up a UV protective t-shirt as a gift for someone. It was reasonably priced imho, very soft and moisture wicking. Brilliant. I should probably get myself one too. BTW, the company no longer offers bags. None. So bring a reusable bag if you plan to shop here. It's just another way to reduce waste and be a good steward. Some of the prices can be high, but not everything. They sell Patagonia which is an expensive brand, as well as other, more moderately priced items. You just have to know what you want and what you are willing to pay. If you check out the bulletin board upstairs, they offer guided excursions that look really fun. I check out their selection of hiking poles as I am looking to buy some. Everything from really reasonable basic models to foldable, light weight pricey models. So you have options. They have pet items. Personal care items. Clothes and shoes are upstairs. So many types of water bottles. Camping items for both the thru-hiker and the car-camper. Check them out. They are a good resource and the staff are friendly and happy to assist.

The owner was always good to me, even threw in a few card for free out of nowhere, which was exceptionally cool because they were 1968 Atlantic Oil Pepitone and Tresh I believe. I got great prices on everything I purchased. For everyone complaining that the owner won't match eBay prices .... This isn't home Depot! Do you message every seller on eBay that doesn't have a card for sale at what you consider a fair comp and complain to them? First of all a brick and mortar card shop has wayyyy more overhead than your average eBay seller. That being said, the atmosphere on eBay, especially with modern stuff, is to sell it as fast as possible, which usually means a lower price. Card shops aren't always in a rush to dump their stuff at a lower price. These guys have been around for decades and know the importance of being patient to maximize the return on their investments. Comps especially on newer cards literally change every week, especially if it's during the season, so of I owned a shop I wouldn't be basing my asking prices strictly from eBay comps. I've got no loyalty to the owner and I'm sure he doesn't even remember me because it's been so long, but leaving a less than favorable review over not matching an eBay price is ridiculous. That actually impacts his business negatively, and I can assure everyone that the dozen times I've made the trip to sports heroes,I was treated with great. The owner wasn't pushy, him and his son were sorting a box of vintage behind the counter or just doing their own thing. I spent time browsing through the off grade boxes they had at the center of the store ,( not certain if they're still there) they weren't looking over my shoulders. Even got into small talk on several occasions about cards and my Yankees. I have been a collector for 37 years now, and I would absolutely recommend this shop to anyone. Hope to be back soon!
