Helpful folks at this spot. I've brought my bike in for a tune and lube and had it completed before promised. The price was reasonable as well. What sets this shop apart is the helpful and friendly staff. I've come in a couple times to shop bikes and they always take time to explain options - and I've yet to pull the trigger on a purchase. I don't know a whole lot about biking and every person I've worked with has always taken the time to explain the nitty gritty without making me feel ridiculous. Just discovered yesterday that they do bike rental. Not that I need a rental but good to know for friends and family that might want to pick up a ride to cruise. I highly recommend. read more

Recently Bought a bike at Trek Bicycle Warwick. We had come here a few months prior to check out their bikes, but they did not have the model that we wanted. So we put a pre-order in for a bike that they said would appear in March. Luckily, a bike of the same model but in a different color came in stock in December! They emailed me asking if I was still interested and I told them that I was because I didn't really care about the color anyway. The whole process was super easy and everyone in the store was extremely nice and had great customer service. Brought my bike in and needed a seat post and front brake assy. They took measurements and I said to order what I needed. Was told they would call me when parts came in. Week later never heard back so I called them. Was told I was dealing with so and so and that they would have him call me back cause he was busy dealing with a customer. 3 months later he must still be dealing with the same customer cause I haven't heard back from anybody. Bikes and skates NBX bikes took over the building that Castor's Bike Shop use to be in. Castor's seemed like it was there forever but NBX now has four bike shops scatter around the Providence area. NBX sells a wide selection of bikes, from kids and casual models to high performance and high priced models. NBX also services bikes, even if they weren't originally purchased from their store. Unfortunately NBX doesn't honor the old Castor's warranties and that does suck but they do have reasonable prices and quick service. The staff is generally friendly and helpful but occasionally the store gets overwhelmed and because trying a new bike can be a time consuming process, customers have to wait a bit. No problem because it's always fun to look at the bikes you can't afford and talk to other customers. BMX is a handy bike place to have around to buy a new bike or for maintenance and to get stuff for an old one. They even sharpen ice skates and have parts for other wheeled things like strollers. I can't say enough nice things about the staff in this store and the quality of the merchandise they carry. I went in with my husband to get him a mountain bike and left with an intent to come back and buy one for myself the next day. He ordered a bike from them which arrived a few days later. There are a ton of bikes to choose from and special orders are easy, too. The way I ended up wanting a bike myself was by trying a couple bikes out to kill time. There's a graveyard across a driveway where you can test ride and I had a much better time out there than I expected. Since then I have gotten back into mountain biking after being off a bike for well over 15 years. When getting back to an old hobby there is so much to buy... I've gotten bike shorts, a helmet, a Yakima car rack, a water bottle & cage, some tools, some tire tubes and so on. There's one free tune up/adjustment I should go back for but it's understood that further bike work is at a charge, which makes sense. My husband worked at a bike shop for a couple years and has consistently been pleased with the professionalism at NBX and the quality of the products they stock. The tools for working on bikes that they sell are of good quality. They are awesome about explaining how to do basic things to me as someone who knows very little about bike mechanics. I'll definitely be back. If not for the great staff and selection I probably would have never got back into mountain biking so I am really glad to have found this place! read more

Maybe ) automatically came over to unload the bike from my car . He set me up for a consult with Service . They guy could have raked me over the coals for Service , but instead politely examined & advised accordingly . Very impressed. read more

I agree with previous reviewer (Richie B) - I couldn't have designed a better interaction than the one I received. Just bought a Trek FX Sport 5 and from the day I walked in window-shopping (one week ago) to the communication while the bike was being built to the pick-up test ride and today's minor tweaks (done on the spot after I walked in unannounced post-ride) they answered every question with patience and respect. As I waited for my bike I roamed and listened to the staff dealing with other customers - same treatment to all. The difference in assistance from another local shop to the service level here is night and day - so much so that I asked the person helping me "are you an owner?" (she wasn't) but I received what I call owner-level attention. Can't say enough good things about this experience. read more

Stopped in to NBX Bikes in Warwick, RI (formerly Caster's Bicycle Shop) this morning to pick up my son's mountain bike that was in for a repair (brakes and general tune-up.) I asked about a bike rack for my SUV hitch and Dave, one of the staff members at NBX, showed me a Yakima system that will accommodate up to 5 bikes. Not only was Dave super knowledgeable about the bike rack, he also took the time to help me install it in my hitch and put my son's bike on it. Dave is great! Thanks NBX! read more

Recently moved here from Portland Maine and I think I've found my go to shop. Staff knows their stuff, and was super helpful in getting me some directions and advice as far as local roads go. Looks like this particular shop is a Trek and Felt dealer, but obviously they will service any bike. Rating 5 stars because I haven't had any work done yet, the helpful and knowledgeable staff added a lot of value to my few visits. Looking forward to them doing group rides out of this location. To the people complaining because they didn't treat an 'inherited' customer base well: it's a completely different business, they don't owe you free tune ups on a bike you didn't purchase from them. Amazing customer service. They quickly responded to an email and actually called me back about a silly little axle nut I couldn't find at the hardware store. Respecting the guidelines this store asked for, I waited outside and someone came out. I handed the guy the wheel. He went in and got the part right away. I ride a bike often- 2-3 MTN ride and 1-2 road rides most weeks. Also perform most of my own repairs- cassette, chain, derailleur- no problem. When my hydraulic brake failed, I turned to NBX. Fred and Ben assessed my bike. Along with a new brake lever, they reported I needed new bushings in my rear triangle after 18 months of punishment on the trail. All repaired- my bike rides like new. Cost was reasonable. Communication excellent. Great to have a reliable local bike shop. read more

This place is great!! I had a flat(tire was rotted) and also needed a tune up. Gears were not switching too good. So they called me the next day with a prognosis and quoted me around $190. It is a used Giant that I only paid $100 for so I told them let's just fix the tire for now which came to $50. Well the bike is riding great and switching gears excellent. So who knows maybe I got a little pro bono tune up but great service all the way around here. read more

NBX in Warwick did a hack job of a "tune up" on my bike in February of 2018, for their "special spring $100.00 tune up" for the price of $242.97(still have the receipt)!! Lousy "tune up"... I had horrible derailleur issues all last summer. So I took it to Stedman's last month. Thanks to their knowledge, expertise and professionalism... they informed that there was a recall on my Specialized Rock Hopper. I guess NBX had NO CLUE about the recall last year? Thank you Stedman's... all new parts, running like brand new and NO CHARGE!! It's the bike that I bought at good ol' Caster's(now NBX) back in 1995, that NBX had no clue about a recall!! That is poor customer service. So I'm all set NBX! A bit farther to drive to Stedman's... but definitely worth the trip to Wakefield!! Never to return to NBX again. read more

Feel a bitter taste in my mouth now that NBX has discontinued that offer. Feels like they don't respect the customer base they have inherited. Great shop with very helpful staff. I came with an odd sized tire for a jogging stroller and they replaced it quickly. The found the thorn that had punctured the tire and then they made sure all the tires were properly inflated. Great people and nice selection. read more

Nice to have a local shop that actually has a decent inventory of parts as well as clothing. I always end up here to pick up random parts whether it's CO2 cartridges, Stan's tubeless parts, GU energy gel, or a 29er tube.
