We took a little adventure to Kindred Pointe Winery because that 2023 Petit Verdot we tried at the…read moreShenandoah Cup was living rent-free in our minds -- and babyyyy, it delivered AGAIN! This was my second time and Nikki's first, and we pulled up READY for great wine, good vibes, and a cute little winery moment . From the second we walked in, the staff greeted us like we were long-lost cousins coming home for the holidays . We did a guided tasting at the bar -- six wines for around $15 (a STEAL, okay!?), and the fun began. Nikki's fave: Bourbon Barrel Chambourcin -- the star of her whole life that day 2019 Chambourcin Oaked Aged 36 months in new American oak... listen... this wine came in sweet on the nose, fruity on the tongue, and creamy on the finish. Light, playful, and honestly kinda flirty. Perfect with stuffing or honestly anything because she was drinking it like it was juice . My fave: 2018 Petit Manseng -- MY GIRL!! Light, dry, citrusy, pear-y, pineapple-y and giving "I'm that wine" energy. Complex but still smooth... basically the Beyoncé of the tasting. We even got to try some wines that weren't on the list, and let me tell you -- 90% of their wines were hitting. Like, not one flop in sight . But the BEST part? The vibe. The service. The "you're family here" energy. It literally felt like sipping wine at your cousin's cute countryside home you never knew they had . 10/10 recommend! Go, sip, laugh, vibe, repeat!

I only tried their ciders today. A flight of four ciders. I really liked the orange one, and the…read morecoconut lime one. The place is spacious and pleasant. And staff was friendly and helpful. Better food options would be nice.

Every time I visit the area from out of town, I do my best to check out different Virginia wineries but am continuously drawn to DuCard. I'm not a wine connoisseur but I do raise my pinkie when raising a glass. I do my best to try as many as I can - red and white, when not having to drive, just to experience the different wines available. All have been delicious and I always walk out with a few bottles. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, the ambiance is loose, open, inviting, and just a cool laid back vibe. There seems to be entertainment every time I've visited and nosh is available as well. Definitely put this place on your places to visit when in the area.

He asked me where I was from and when I told him he said "I am sorry". Not cool at all. After that he asked if we liked red wine, we said no. He brought 2 glasses out anyway and insisted we try it. We finally gave in but we didn't like being pressured. We still don't like red wine. Then he asked if he could sit with us. We reluctantly agreed but instead of taking the empty chair he grabbed my wife's purse without asking and moved it to the other chair. What should have been a nice and semi private experience ended up being spent with a pushy host. Not contemplating going back.
