The drive over the mini bridge was so scenic at sunset and super fun! There is plenty of seating and the views are awesome! There is a dog that roams around and she is very sweet if you encounter her! All of the food was good and fresh. The wine flight was presented very nicely too. I love love a great winery! I love also when you're able to make reservations on a Saturday and don't have to worry about super large crowds. This winery was beautiful easy drive and had some wonderful views as you slipped on your wine. The venue had live music the night my husband and I went, and we enjoyed the wine, the music and the views. There is also a small trail you can walk along and actually see the winery. Great Views great service! We sat on the upper deck it was sooooo peaceful we danced to great music and ate the cheese platter and sipped on the flight of wines, which is so worth it. If you want a relaxing vibe try this place. We also went to the walking bridge on our way out. If you're scared of bugs and overgrown trees and grass, (which I am, but my wife made me go) don't go down the scary steps. Yes, this place was gorgeous, and we drove an hour to come visit during our trip to the area, but we left so disappointed. We pride ourselves on being very forgiving guests and rarely do we find ourselves upset at the quality of the food anywhere we go. Of course you don't go to wineries for food but we ordered the basics- bread and oil and olives with feta. The oil was not olive oil, even tho that's was we were told, our guess was canola. It was flavorless and there was barely a sprinkle of herbs to "dress" its up. The bread was good. The olives were good for the most part but WAY too many olives for a starter and barely any feta. Because we weren't super satisfied with those starters we ordered their featured BBQ chicken pineapple quesadilla to split. When we ordered we asked for the chicken to be separate because one of us is vegetarian, a modification that we have had to make at most places but is usually not a big deal. It seemed to be an inconvenience to the person who took our order which wasn't the best reception to a really basic and easy request. When we picked it up the chicken appeared to have been just microwaved in a bowl with no seasoning or anything, really quite unappetizing. The quesadilla itself could have been so good but half of it was all cheese and half was all barbecue sauce. Not super ideal. We decided to leave and go elsewhere to be able to actually stomach the food. If these foods were complicated and just not our taste that would be one thing, but they are insanely simple plates that were just not done well at all. We sat outside as well and it was comfortable but without any sort of music or anything to break up the conversations between parties so at times it was get very quiet and almost awkward, we felt we had to whisper the entire time just so our conversation wasn't the entertainment for everyone else. Really disappointing as we'd been looking forward to visiting for weeks. read more

This winery is quite beautiful. The property layout is great for the views, and there are many seating options to accommodate your different interests. The food is great, and the service is wonderful. My wife and I dropped by to chill for a little while, and our experience was awesome. I had a pretty great time at Muse. Only really enjoyed the first and last on the flight, I'm a Californian so I've got slightly different preferences. But I did like the fact that the flight had reds, whites, and rose, Cali does wine tastings with either white or red but usually no mixing. The outdoor view is incredible, and liked the fact that there was a trail through the vineyards to explore while sobering up (it was a tiny bit hard to follow, couldn't find the swinging bridge until I was already leaving in my car). The hummus plate was quite good too. Honestly this place is quite popular and gets busy fast on a Friday afternoon, so if you're looking for a deep and personalized experience hearing about wine this isn't it, but it is great to take your wine and snack and find a space to enjoy the great view. read more

We stopped here on Friday night on our first night in Woodstock. What a beautiful place! Tony asked what type of wine we liked and gave us three tastings. We decided on the Cabernet Franc and the Clio, both excellent. We went to the upper terrace, sat looking over the vineyards and on to the mountains. It is absolutely beautiful! There was live music by Swan Song which added to the ambiance. We decided to order food. I had chicken salad on croissant and my husband had pulled pork sandwich. Both were very good. Tony helped bring our food to us and checked on us later. What a great guy! He made us laugh and feel like we want to come back again and again! read more

My friends and I loved visiting this winery on a Saturday afternoon around 2 pm. We ordered lunch - an array of soup, quiche, chicken salad sand which, and pulled pork- everything was delicious! Our wines were wonderful- within the group we tried the red flight and mixed red/white flight. The second to last wine in both flights was our favorite! The people who work here are warm and welcoming, which made our visit that much more memorable. The space itself is big, cozy, comfy and inviting with couches, tables, and a real fireplace. There was a roof top and outdoor seating too, though it was a bit cold to try it on this visit. Local art is displayed on the walls! The property itself seems to be on/adjacent to a state park. It makes for a scenic (though bumpy!) ride in. There's a walk around the property that we'd def do next time! If you're on the fence and/or in the area, come here!! read more

Beautiful vineyard 2 miles off I-81 in Woodstock VA, and dog friendly too! At 68degree weather today was perfect for wine tasting even with beautiful Tucker Poo in tow! Wines are bordeaux style with french snacks as charcuterie, trout rillete to foie gras and other baguette accompanied hors dvores!.... Teresa, the sommelier, was friendly and engaging. I reserved a table on the terrace and got the perfect spot when I arrived, and my name was placed on a reservation card I saw it right away as se we approached! Good vibe and beautiful and tranquil place with vines lined up along the dirt windy road up to the tasting room. I have so many nice words to describe this place but will sum it up to a very nice vineyard with tasteful and well appointed decor and settings. I like the Hermes and other use of subtle hints of colors, simply tasteful and with simple sophistication in mind yet unpretentious! Definitely will be on our goto among other favorites! read more

We didn't try the wines. My daughter wanted to hike the grounds so we did their winery loop to the suspension bridge and back - about 1 1/2m, they have alot of grapes! Very cool bridge with an abandoned school bus, like the book "into the wild". We did try the food. Simple but creative and tasty. Quick and pleasant service. The tasting room itself is decent size, comfortable and airy - one of the nicer wineries in Shenandoah. Very dog-friendly, inside & out, so heads up if you're not. read more

It was a Horrible Experience. We called the day before arriving asking the days and hours the were open. We were having a very important meeting there with guests from out of town and were told they were open. Upon arriving the door was open and we went in. I guest a manager met us told us they were closed. After explaining the situation there was No Apology and we were asked who we spoke to. You don't ask who you are talking to when you ask if a business was open. The Whole experience was Very Poor Business Interaction. We should have been asked to stay some sort of comprise. PSA BEFORE VISITING: Muse is located across from the North Fork Shenandoah River. There is a small single lane bridge you can drive over to get to the vineyard. While we visited, this bridge flooded and there is no contingency plan in place for when this happens. We were made aware that the bridge was close to flooding while sitting at our table by the owner. We left quickly to find the bridge completely flooded, and we were stranded among many other visitors. The vineyard itself and the service up until this point were amazing. It would just have been more appropriate to give greater warning to their customers. If you do visit, I would recommend parking before the bridge and taking the foot bridge to be on the safe side. read more

This vineyard is gorgeous and considering we're in a pandemic, I have to add they're following all COVID-19 protocols, so we felt safe. Anyways, back to the venue and wine: we shared a flight and I liked most of them, I ended up leaving with 3 reds, I won't tell you which because you should try the entire flight, but also ask for a sample of the Cab Franc because, yes, we did get a bottle of that. So, good wine is amazing, but what's also amazing is a gorgeous view and friendly staff. This place has it all! read more

Went over Memorial Day weekend with a group of six of us and wasn't expected to be treated so rudely. Apparently groups of 5 or fewer are ok but heaven forbid we have six people! This was our second visit in three years. Nice view and everything and we enjoyed a bottle of their "Clio" wine as well as some glasses of white wine, but one of their staff Hannah, was just so off-putting. No, we didn't have a reservation and weren't a club member. All we wanted was to get a bottle and sit and enjoy it with our group. Yes, they were busy but we didn't need to be talked down to. Not worth the drive from Fairfax, in my opinion. Cave Ridge and Cross Keys are better options. read more

Great vineyard, in a unique location. Wine tasting is $10.00 and includes a glass to take home. They produce both white and red wines which you can purchase after your tasting. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and did not rush the tasting. Various charcuterie, cheese and crackers are available for purchase and on the weekend they also offer paninis and salads. The vineyard is a great spot to walk around, dogs are allowed and there is outside seating. The staff also informed us the house on the property is an Airbnb available as a vacation rental. read more

We came here once a year and a half ago on a Saturday and they were closed due to Covid... So, we came back recently and hoped they would be open this time and they were. This place gets very popular, so be prepared for large crowds! The wines are just OK... nothing special. The staff was rushed, not very friendly and seemed like they were doing us a favor by helping us, rather than providing excellent service. The venue is pretty, grounds are decent. Overall, I can say that we've gone and mark it off as another VA winery that we've been to. But I don't see making a special trip to return. read more

When you walk into Muse the building is very modern. You wouldn't expect it with the obstacle course of entrance it has just to get there. We bought a bottle of their Petit Verdot. The wines were good, but I don't feel like we got our money's worth out of the $10 each that we paid since we only got about 5 wines. read more

Muse has been one of my favorite wineries for a while. Even as a new winery, their 2009 Clio red blend won the Virginia's Governor's Cup award in 2015. So to say I was anxiously awaiting for the formal tasting room to open is a major understatement. They have 30 acres under vine, although they sell fruit to several places. Too soon to know what their production will be like. The fact that several well known wineries buy their grapes here is a testament to their quality. Not coincidentally, Tim Rausse, son of one of the 'godfathers' of Virginia wine Gabrielle Rausse, is their wine maker. Sally (the owner) recognized me when I came in, and jokingly asked what took so long for me to visit. What I tried: Thalia white blend (forget the year): Minerally & floral. Interesting nose and delicate body. I'm typically not a white drinker but I loved it so much I bought a bottle. 2015 Sav Blanc: Lemon, citrus notes, medium acid. 2014 Chardonnay: Oaky, buttery nose and oak on the palate. Their 2013 Chardonnay was one of my favorite Chards anywhere in Virginia. This wasn't quite as good, but was still pretty darn good. 2014 Rose: Made with Gamay grapes. Peach on the nose, and peach colored. 2012 Calliope: Made with Grenache and Syrah. Light bodied red with some spice. Liked it. 2010 Clio (Bordeaux red blend, equal parts Cab Franc, Cab Sav, Merlot, and Petit Verdot): Blackberry on the nose with a pepper finish. 2011 Clio: Same blend as the 2010, but smoother. It's a shame I came on such a cloudy day; the gray pictures don't match the warmth of the interior! read more
