Staff are totally serious about maintaining spacing between cars. Kudos gentlemen.

Well early into the pandemic, we were so impressed by how serious they were taking safety here. It was the best outing you could could have. Now, in late October, they and the patrons have become very lax. I saw people walk into the men's and women's restrooms without masks - walking right past staff who didn't say a word. I get it that people are setting their chairs inside and behind their cars and trucks without masks, but when staff aren't controlling who goes into the common areas, that's a major change from a few months ago and an equally major disappointment.

So much fun! Great price. You get a beautiful view of the moon siding also. Glad to have new movies coming out & old like this anime movie

What a wonderful Summer treat! With the indoor cinemas being close, this is a great alternative! Music blasting! Snacks! Drinks! Social Distancing! Mask! Etc.! What I love about this is that it brings great childhood memories back! Thank you Westwind Drive-In!

It's probably been about 6-7 years since I've been to a drive-in and I forgot how great it is. To be in the comfort of your own car, snacks and blankets (if needed). Especially with everything going on now it was a nice getaway and safe! If you're wondering what you should do with COVID not going anywhere anytime soon, I would recommend this drive-in!

    It's ALL DIGITAL!

They've got a bit of NOSTALGIA goin' on, up in here! Technology has certainly altered the way we watch movies, sometimes incredibly so. But there is just something cool about lounging in the car/van & watching a flick in the open skies with family and friends! Drive-in movies are not an easy find, and yet, here is West Wind Santa Barbara Drive-In Theater, in all its splendor! It's the closest drive-in screen to Ventura County. This blast from the past is actually located in Goleta, so it's about 40 minutes from my hometown. Yelp directions are on point. Snack bar has tasty options and popcorn hasn't been overly salty. Still doesn't have something you want? No prob! Bring it! I transport my own spicy ramen pipin' hot and Calbee Shrimp Flavored Chips to munch on. YUUP!!! I slurp & crunch away like nobody's business AND I'm not bothering a soul! Need to stretch the appendages a lil bit? Please, feel free to roam. How about pre-movie distractions like gettin' thrown popcorn at me by my kids to make in my mouth?!? Oh yeah, fun times! No way we'd get away with that @ any walk in cinema! But, it's all good here! Some details to know... *Prices: $7.25 adults; $1 kids 5-11y/o; under 5y/o FREE! These prices are usually for a double feature, too! *Try to get there 30 minutes early. There is only 1 cashier & as it gets closer to start time, the longer it takes to get in. *Smaller cars park in front section, while SUVs & vans are relegated the the middle & back areas. Mobile homes are in the WAAAY back! It's basically a dirt lot, slightly uneven, so no fancy shoes. Its beach California, so there is the normal little chill in the air at night. *All digital projection, all digital sound. Tune in to 96.9 FM on your vehicle's stereo. Staff is more than ready to help with a jump start, just in case your vehicle is having too good a time! West Wind does the drive-in experience just fine at a great price. My fams loves the freedom to talk & move... well, I love it. My young squires don't know they prefer it, but they aren't bothering others, that's for sure. Staff is friendly and helpful. There's never been a glitch with the movie projection. As this is THE ONLY Drive-in for miles & miles, its as good as it's going to get around here.

This is the perfect place to see a movie in Santa Barbara. Having been to this drive-in since I was little seeing movies like RoboCop 2 and Arachnophobia, I was happy when it reopened two years ago. First off, the price of admission is just fantastic, $7.00 for adults (only $5.00 on Tuesday's during Family Fun Nights). You can't get that at any of the local theaters where it is about $10 for one movie. The price of admission is for two movies here. I went just this last weekend to see the movies Battleship and Men In Black III. There was a security guy outside the entrance doing traffic control making sure everything was nice and organized. The attendants at both the entrance and concession stand were very friendly. The night that I went was fairly busy, with a couple of motorhomes parked in the back (first time seeing motorhomes at the drive-in). It is great that they got rid of the sound boxes and now the sound is projected off a FM radio station used in your car or a portable stereo system. If your car dies, West Wind employees offers a free jump start so you will be able to drive home. In terms of food, there concession stand has a great selection of items ranging from popcorn (they have the bucket that when bought, gives you one free refill), fountain drinks, hot dogs, pretzels, churro's, candy, among other things. They also have some arcade games (just two when I was there). Also, this place doesn't frown upon outside food or drink, they are more than welcome as well. Only bad thing that I have seen is some people turn there headlights on during the movie, which causes a distraction for the viewer. Overall, this place is highly recommended to visit in Santa Barbara/Goleta with friends, a date, or even alone.

I brought my 4-year-old son to see Toy Story 5. While carrying him from the concession stand, he accidentally dropped his hot dog bun onto the ground before we could even make it back to our car. When I went back inside to request a replacement bun, an employee nepotistic "grandchild" named Brian informed me that I would be charged for it again. When I questioned being charged for just a bun under the circumstances, Brian became visibly hostile. He complained that he "did not like that I expected it for free." He then stated he would issue a refund instead, explicitly saying he was doing so because he "didn't like that I expected something." This logic made absolutely no sense. I pointed out how counterproductive it was to issue a full refund just so I could immediately repurchase the item, especially while my son was crying in the car waiting for his food. Brian forced the refund through anyway and made me repurchase the item. To make matters worse, when I asked for the name of his grandfather "manager"so I could report the incident, Brian flatly refused to give it to me. This is why, sometimes family isn't the best way forward when filling critical roles within companies, especially the customer facing ones.

We were seated in the furthest back row, directly near the projection window, which was open during the movie. I'm not sure if that's standard, but throughout the film there was a constant noise coming from inside the projection room. It sounded like someone had a sports game or something similar playing on a speaker. Because we were sitting so close to the projection room, we could hear it throughout the movie and it was extremely distracting. It definitely took away from the experience, especially when you're paying to enjoy a movie in a theater where you expect the auditorium to be quiet aside from the film itself. I'm hoping this can be looked into so it doesn't happen during future showings.

Sadly, minutes ticked by and the staff came back to let us know the outage was affecting a large part of the area and offered vouchers. I was in a pickle. I purchased my tickets through Fandango, we were leaving town the next day and their site refuses refunds or credits after the movie start time...no exceptions (I should review them...boooo). We hung back for a few minutes while the staff dealt with safely walking all the customers out and I spoke with Elias who is the GM. He was extremely polite and apologetic.
