April 24, 2026 - Healdsburg, CA This review is not based on a wine tasting experience, but rather on an interaction with the owners. We had a reservation for an overnight RV stay and wine tasting at a winery located down the road behind this one (through Harvest Hosts). When we pulled onto the access road, a car was parked in a way that blocked our ability to reach our destination. My husband went into the winery to politely ask if the car could be moved. He returned shortly after, followed by two women and a man, and what should have been a simple request turned into a surprisingly tense exchange. From where I sat, it was clear they were agitated, gesturing and raising their voices. This went on for several minutes. Eventually, the man moved the car--something that ultimately took no more than 30 seconds. The interaction itself was what made this so upsetting. My husband was told that the road was "their" road and that it was "their" parking spot, and they were initially unwilling to move the vehicle. However, the road is shared access for the neighboring winery, and the car was not parked in a designated space--it was blocking passage. We were simply trying to get to a confirmed reservation. The lack of courtesy and basic hospitality in this situation was disappointing and unexpected. Based on this interaction alone, I would not recommend this winery. read more

Just a great chill winery. We really like Jennifer- she took great care of us on our last visit and she keeps in touch with our wine shipments since we aren't always local. We love the progress that the tasting room has made. It's beautiful. And the wine is so reasonable in an atmosphere of very high prices. Great wines! read more

What a fun day. I took my mother to their Swedish Christmas tasting. My grandmother was from Sweden and we were able to discuss it with the owner. Our server was amazing and she was also fun. I hate that I forgot her name even though I've met her a few times before. Darn those senior moments. It was a beautiful day and we sat near the vineyard. I loved their wines. Talk about being ignored! This was easily one of the worst wine tasting experiences that we've had in a while. We came here during the Winelove weekend event last year, and this winery was the absolute worst! First of all, they required a credit card to hold our reservation even though it was for an EVENT that we prepaid the tickets for months in advance. This was the only winery that required this, and nobody else was even there when we arrived. Secondly, their "neighbor" was burning wood and all of the smoke was blowing towards us. Inhaling smoke while you're drinking wine?! Not a good look. The lady who poured our wines never introduced herself. She never told us anything about what she was pouring. Disappeared for long periods of time between pours. Never checked in on us or asked us how we were enjoying the wine. And those pours! Or shall I say... "sips"?! Because those damn sure weren't "pours" of anything. Hella tiny pours! But we honestly weren't even tripping that much because the wine wasn't even that good. Mediocre at best. Their wine prices were not worth the low quality wine that we received. Their Viognier and Cuvee were way too oaky. After our last wine pour, nobody even came back to our table to ask if we wanted to try or buy anything (not that we did, but common courtesy). So, we just got up and left. Unbelievable! We were honestly pretty shocked at how bad this experience was! I myself couldn't believe it after reading all of the glowing Yelp reviews. But unh-uh honey, I def won't be coming back here again. There are too many other amazing wineries around for me to be wasting my time and money here ever again. Would NOT recommend at all. read more

We had a lovely tasting at West Wines right when they opened. We sat outside under a tent and got to try a bunch of really great wines (we ended up buying 2). They are very dog friendly and our doggo got water and a treat goody bag! Fun, chill, laid back, pretty views, and nice wines!! read more

You cannot beat the wine here. it's a charming place with great service and some of the best wine you will find in all of California at reasonable prices. I live in the area and have been to, oh, 75ish wineries (no judging please :) - and this one has NOT ONE dud of a wine, All are great. You can sit outside and have a great view of the vines or on colder days inside the cozy covered and heated patio. Two of my faves: Italian cuvee (tip - take a nice deep inhale of the nose on this one) and the sparking, Female winemaker! :) read more

I had family come from out of town & we went to a winery near by. The statue of the wolf/coyote caught our attention. There is plenty of seating outside with an absolutely stunning view of vineyards. Unfortunately, it was a rainy day when we went. So we were seated inside a barn filled with wine barrels but no complaints because it was cozy & made our experience still great. Our sommelier (server) was Stu. He was absolutely amazing! Very knowledgeable and explained each wine so well. Described them exactly how they tasted. The wines were delicious. At the end, we discovered you can climb into the wolf/coyote statue (At your own risk!) There is a ladder attached to the statue. Overall, highly recommend! read more

We stumbled upon West Wines yesterday and had a wonderful outdoor tasting experience. My husband, 3 year old daughter, and I were in Healdsburg for Memorial Day weekend, and arrived without a reservation. We were warmly welcomed, and were excited to discover great wine, excellent service, and a gorgeous, family-friendly setting. Our tasting consisted of two white wines and two red wines - our favorites were the Viognier, Tuscan Cuvee, and Cab. We also tasted their Chardonnay (not on the tasting menu), and enjoyed it. The tasting fee is $25 and waived if you purchase 2 bottles of wine. We ended up purchasing 8 bottles and joining their wine club! Brittany, our host, was knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and welcoming. We felt very well taken care of. The outdoor tasting area was beautiful, the views of the vineyards were lovely, and the set up felt Covid safe. They were welcoming of our 3 year old daughter, and had sidewalk chalk for her to draw with on their concrete patio, which was perfect! We are excited to have discovered this little gem of a winery, and look forward to returning soon! read more

What a view! Omg they have one of the best spots in the Valley. The whole set up, decor, ambiance is very aesthetically pleasing and felt like a classy yet homey wine tasting feel. I forgot our pourers name but she was great! She gave us great details about the wine, & she really took great care of us. Not once did we feel rushed or forgotten which was great! I'd say the wine was okay, experience was a little off. The owner winemaker was nice but not super friendly off the bat. We experience some of the staff kinda belittling other patrons about never rinsing a wine glass with water, was kinda weird and uncalled for. Pulling up to the property it's kinda okay with a good amount of construction going on next door that's really hard to ignore. Didn't really have the best ambiance so I wouldn't return. The blue barn is adorable thought. Maybe it was just a off day for them. read more

Recommend stopping by - beautiful quaint winery. Eurcila was friendly and helped to make a fun enjoyable experience. Lovely outdoor area - the wind was howling, but the tent type structure was strong & kept us out of the wind while still being able to enjoy the beautiful views. James Bond the cat was super friendly and loved that greeted us too. Cute decor & loved the cork filled jar succulents. Nice clean bathrooms with an extra sink outside to wash hands. Can get up and close with the vines to observe the grapes growing. My husband & I had a lovely time and enjoyed the wines! read more

We were lured to West Wines by their advertising of a Scandinavian Christmas event with Swedish cookies and Gløg. As a Dane, I was excited to start the season with this treat, with a $25/pp price tag. In Scandinavia, such a spread would have included many types of cookies and chocolates, cheeses and savories, as well as Christmas music and cheer. Instead, we had a very small pour of four wines, and a single small plate with 4 cookies and 2 chocolates brought to the table at the end. To forfeit the cost of the pours, you have to purchase 3 bottles of their wines. You are better off visiting Wilson down the street, if you want to try good wines and buy a bottle or two. I felt duped, when we left. No holiday cheer there. read more

Beautiful location and the owner is really friendly. During the tasting you get cheese, chocolate, crackers and craisins, which is a plus. Unfortunately, the neighbors next door, decided to burn wood in the middle of the day and all the smoke went into the winery area, thus I believe affecting the ambiance and wine flavors. The property is beautiful and the staff were very nice and accommodating. We went as a group of 9 for a bachelorette party, and everyone agreed we had the most fun at West Wines of the 3 stops we made. I had such high hopes for this place based on the Yelp reviews. The parking situation is a bit confusing. After turning in the driveway, it seems that you pass by someone's house. But the long driveway seems to lead you into the vineyard. We ended up turning around and parking outside of the house at the beginning of the driveway. Once inside, the staff was really friendly and informative; she seemed to be a local and know a lot about the various events that take place up there throughout the year. The view from the tasting room is incredible. There is a small patio with tables and chairs for you to relax in as you look out on the vineyard. The wines were okay. We didn't buy anything. I don't think I would ever go back nor would I recommend the wines to anyone. Tasting fee starts at $10 per person. read more

This is one of my favorite wineries to visit! I became a member by my second visit for multiple reasons; 1.) The wine is fantastic! 2.) Their hospitality is perfection. 3.) Beautiful grounds, and stunning views of the vineyards from their tasting room. 4.) Great prices! And honestly SO much more! Every time we go to West Wines we are treated like family. It's quite literally the best customer service I have experienced at any winery! The lovely staff are amazing company and always make sure to keep your wine glasses full. Also, speaking from personal experience as a wine club member, they have amazing prices and I love being a part of their wine club. It's fairly inexpensive and you get free access to all their special events. When I go to West Wines they always take a group photo for us in front of the cutest blue barn on their property, which I love! I liked this boutique winery. I didn't feel rushed during the tasting, and most of what they offered was good. But I did think the woman pouring the wine got a bit annoyed at the tour guide who started to impede on her space. I got the West Chardonnay. it's a crisp wine with vanilla and citrus notes. I also like the cuvee, but it was more on the drier side for me. read more

We were able to visit West Wines on a recent tour with Terrific Tours. We had the opportunity to taste 5 wines and even met the sommelier, who really knew his wines and told us all about the education it took to get the title. The tasting room was a simple long counter set with seats for all of us so we were able to just sit and relax during the tasting. I really liked the old Ford V8 that was outside the tasting room, it was a very cool antique to have there and made for great photos. I would highly suggest a visit to West Wines, you will feel very welcome and will get to sample some great wines along the way. read more

I confess... I know the folks who run West Wines, but when they are friendly and welcoming and make delicious wine, can you blame me for wanting to recommend their beautiful little winery to others? This is off the beaten trail, but well worth it. I recommend the Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2005 (succulent!) and the Voignier Reserve 2010 (like jasmine tea! amazing!)...but please don't buy too much of it, because I need to restock. read more

Phenomenal. What a true Cab Sauv gem in Dry Creek! Wifey and I traveled up to Healdsburg on a sleepy Sunday afternoon and happened upon this beautiful winery (look for the large West Wines sign!) We were greeted by the extraordinarily friendly owner, Bengt, who welcomed us into his business and talked wine (and his I.T. background) as if we were regulars. We selected the vertical option (working backward from '07 - '03) and were astounded by how good the Cabs were. We bought the lot, as it were, and left very happy. The grounds are small and quaint: perfect for a relaxing lunch with some nibbles. Can't wait to come back! read more

West Wines checked all the boxes for us during our trip to Sonoma, during which we wanted more intimate winery experiences with out-of-the-way wineries. When we got there, the owner/winemaker was shucking oysters for guests. Because, hey, why not, right? The woman who did our tasting was incredibly friendly and personable and knowledgeable. The wines were outstanding. The view is gorgeous. After our tasting we sat down for a picnic lunch while we talked to the winemaker about this and that. Afterwards we were invited to walk the vineyard and sample some of the grapes pre-harvest. I highly recommend West for a visit.
