I was very good friends with a lot of the members and busted my ass the entire time I was there. In all the time I was there, I never had one complaint against me and an unknown number of compliments. When I left, I left peacefully with no incident. I returned recently to visit some members that I was friends with and haven't seen in a few years since I left. I was told by the Head Professional that he was told to ask me to leave the premises or he would call the police for no apparent reason. I asked why and by who, but wouldn't be given a reason. I left and went to one of the holes on the street to say hi to the members as they passed the hole. The pro was out there and called the police even though I wasn't on property. The police told me I wasn't welcome on the property and if I returned I could be arrested. Again for no apparent reason. I then called the GM and asked why I wasn't allowed on property and was told he didn't need to give me a reason. I said that I worked there for so many years, and thought I deserved to know why. He again said he didn't need to give me a reason. DON"T WORK THERE UNLESS YOU WANTED TO BE TREATED LIKE SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His handcrafted banjolike instruments - made out of tin boxes, wood, and bent quarters - are also offered for fun and for sale. I think I saw an Altoids guitar for $50. The soup of the day (tomato basil) was really good, but the fresh-baked BREAD is what really got me! And I'm not usually a bread person. Keep in mind they close at 3. The calendar is packed full with events. Show on 2nd floor, restrooms and concessions on first floor. There is a small balcony area. We came for a meet and greet with Stewart Copeland along with his show. The meet and greet began at 5:30pm and the we had to leave the theater until it opened at 6:30pm which was quite incoveneint and wish we had known ahead of time. The Kate staff was very friendly. There is free parkiing but can be tough to find a spot.

This year's festival was 5/12-14, "A Taste of Greece." I am writing to say that the lamb was succulent, the gyro perfect, the baklava just the right touch of honey and crisp, the spanikopita generous, the avgolemono soup ("Greek penicillin") just the thing I needed to help conquer my stomach flu. The dessert selection huge. The little Greek ladies strong and proud. They even had a take-out window for those who wouldn't have time to eat in. It's a great cause, not a new idea, but a wonderful one, nonetheless. This area doesn't have so many Greek restaurants, but it is wonderful to have a festival like this to enrich the cultural expanse of the area and to introduce folks to Greek food -- not just Greek food but wonderful Greek food -- and double as a fundraiser for the local Greek orthodox community, who I can only imagine as similarly vibrant. I will be back next year! And I will bring friends!
