Gotta love when the mover hits on your girlfriend. I'm not saying the whole company is bad but the guy moving my friend/neighbor today at 14 nosband in white plains is a scumbag. "Dark guy w.facial hair and a cap on. He said "hi baby" and i said "what?" Then ignored him. Then asks "is that your husband?" so i turned around and said its my bf and i get on elevator and he looked at me as he licked his lips all around like in looney tunes where they picture each other as food ..and even after i said i was taken he asked for my number and name and i said no sorry and luckily elevator closed ". After today, I am so thankful for finding Westchester Moving & Delivery! Paul was able to schedule in time for same day service to help me and my parents! They told me two hours and that's all it took. Eric and Tim arrived and they were very professional and polite. They knew exactly what they were talking about. They also handled our possessions like they cared. We've dealt with another company previously and destroyed our furniture. Not a review of moving abilities but one of the drivers almost killed me making an illegal U-turn. I called the number plastered all over the truck and whoever answered the phone could care less. I have been using Westchester Moving and Delivery in business for the last four years. They have always been very professional and have reasonable rates. I decided to hire them for a personal move this past Summer, and I have to say, what a great group of guys showed up! They took care of my belongings as if they were their own. Carefully wrapping and boxing everything. I moved about an hour and a half away and had a lot of heavy furniture. The crew was continuously pleasant, and worked hard the entire time. I have just hired them again for another personal job and will continue to use them for business as well. It's nice to deal with a local business and get to know the staff. I recommend them for any job, big or small. Old fashioned courtesy and commitment is what you will get! read more

I've moved no less than 7 times over the past few years. This was THE best move I've done. They were transparent with hourly costs/fees up front. The move was done in 30 mins difference than their estimate. It took them 6 hours to move A LOT of stuff (it took movers 10/11 hours to move it into the apartment, but they were able to do it in basically half the time- I was super impressed). The crew was very attentive with my stuff (they even put on booties to try to keep the floor clean). Overall, really glad I went with these guys. The website is no frills - but i'm not paying for graphic design, I wanted someone to move my stuff from A to B efficiently and that's exactly what they did. I had scheduled a move from Rye to Greenwich and when they did not show up, I sent a frantic plea out to friends for a recommendation (we had no wiggle room as to the day of the move). Fortunately, a colleague recommended Westchester Moving & Delivery. I phoned, and a crew of three hard working guys showed up within two hours. They were professional, friendly, and efficient. The price was less than the original company. and there were no hidden surprises. The new place had an attic that was very difficult to access, and one of the guys spent a long time up there, receiving the boxes and then placing them in the piles I asked for to make unpacking in stages later easier. I should mention that it was almost 100 degrees up there, and this mover did the work with a smile and was super sweet about this unpleasant task. I absolutely recommend this company! read more

My main complaint as I've read from some of the other reviews too, is that the quoted price is not accurate. Expect to pay 50% more at the end of your day. For example, if you were quoted $800, the move will cost you $1200. That was my experience. Somehow they add on packaging charges even if you pack/wrap your own things and tax...who knows how the math comes out but the quoted price is not the bottom line. read more

This is the VERY WORST moving company, ever! The person who came to give us an estimate was named Paul. His estimate for our move $620. We actually ended up paying over $1200 (double the estimate!!!). Our move was small, to begin with. Two years ago we moved from a five bedroom home to a two-bedroom apartment in Avalon Green. This time we were moving within Avalon, from the apartment to a townhouse. But this time our move became the worst headache ever! The last move from such a big house was a breeze, in comparison! That move was done by another - and much better - moving company. Pity I did not go back to them. I thought Westchester Moving would cost me much less. Little did I know! The guys who came to move us this time (from Westchester Moving) told us they were not going to pack. That was for us to do! Yet, Paul, when he came to give us the estimate, had told us that whatever we would not be able to pack, his guys would pack. On the day, the movers did not even have packing materials like packing paper or enough tape to pack the stuff. Then they suddenly had to leave because they had not completed their previous job properly and so they had to rush back there. They came back the next day to complete our job and told us they would charge us extra if it took any more than 2 hours! As is, they charged us double the amount of the estimate. The last straw: The movers ripped our Italian leather sofa. They made serious scuff marks all over the newly painted walls of the new place. They did not put anything in the right place. They just left heavy boxes piled up, without helping to place them in the right rooms. The walls look so bad! We are not young people. We paid over a thousand dollars for a relatively small move and yet ended up doing a major portion of the work ourselves. Needless to add, we are exhausted and in pain and totally frustrated over this moving experience. Finally, the estimate cannot be so off as to be half the price of the actual charge! What sort of estimate is that???? I turned down other estimates to go with these guys. If I had known the final cost to me, I would have chosen another company, paid the same and received much better help. These guys are frauds. They start with a low estimate and then point to the "fine print" which, of course, you have not read! And they accept only cash. read more

Overall, the furniture was moved, which was the goal. We had a small apartment to move and they were only moving furniture-no boxes. At one point, two of the three movers were standing around outside texting. I wasn't impressed with the amount of time it took or the cost ($200 more than the estimate because they took so long). Also, they couldn't get some furniture in and I believed them when they said it wasn't possible. My husband got it in there by himself after they left. read more

Moving can be a nightmare, a bad mover can make it worse and cost. So, I did extensive researches and talked with NYS DOT, and finally selected Westchester Moving & Delivery. They are in business over 20 years with stellar record. To my surprise, their price is unbeatable! even cheaper than an unlicensed mover (of course, they claimed they are until I checked with NYS DOT). Paul was very easy to communicate and very responsive, and most important is he is very honest. The day of the moving , the crew members arrived on time, got everything moved quick and gentle, our agreement is based on the hourly rate!!! So, we would highly recommend this mover to anyone! read more

The service exceeded our expectations. Thank you to the crew! They moved us out of our walkup apartment in Manhattan to Westchester. Having several big fragile pieces, we were worried about getting them transported safely. Everything was delivered in perfect condition! Everyone was very respectful of our furniture.
