Highly recommended! Professional and great communication! I contacted Amplified with a short notice on my move (within 1.5 weeks). The president, Patrick, explained that they usually have someone come out in person and look over the contents to be moved. And then the rep would give a quote then and there with no additional costs/fees (as long as nothing changes with the inventory of course). However, because of my short notice, it was advised I send over a detailed inventory list. Throughout my correspondence with Patrick, he always responded fast and eventually gave me the things I requested like multiple quotes based on different inventories. On moving day, the foreman, Anthony, arrived with a team of three other movers. They were all professional and efficient. Our experience with Amplified Moving was an absolute disaster, and I would strongly caution anyone against trusting this company with their belongings. We were quoted a little over $500 for a three-hour, two-person move. We fully disclosed our inventory in advance, including our king mattress and the weight of our adjustable base. We specifically asked whether additional movers would be necessary and were assured that two movers would be more than sufficient. The move ultimately took approximately 10 hours instead of the quoted three, and our final payment exceeded $1,300--more than double the original estimate. This was not a minor miscalculation or a reasonable overage. The move took more than three times as long as represented. The first crew handled our belongings extremely poorly. They initially refused to bring our king mattress and adjustable base upstairs, even though both items had been fully disclosed before the move. The mattress was only brought upstairs after we insisted that the job was not complete without our bed in the bedroom, particularly because it was our only place to sleep that night. Amplified later sent a second two-person crew, and those two movers handled the adjustable base without difficulty. That made it clear that the issue was not simply the number of movers. It was the preparation, execution, and competence of the original crew assigned to our move. After unpacking and inspecting our belongings, we discovered damage to nearly all of our furniture. Two of our three televisions were also damaged, in addition to damage to our flooring and a curtain rod. This was not one isolated accident or normal wear associated with moving. The damage was widespread and affected a substantial portion of our belongings and home. When I spoke directly with Patrick, the owner, he was rude, dismissive, and refused to take meaningful ownership of what happened. He suggested that we needed to make "compromises" in order to be happy. When I directly called out how poorly the move had been handled, Patrick then accused me of being rude. Is that really how an owner speaks to a customer whose three-hour move turned into a 10-hour ordeal, whose bill more than doubled, and whose furniture, televisions, and home were extensively damaged? Holding a company accountable for its own failures is not being rude. Customers should not be expected to stay quiet or "compromise" when their belongings are damaged, major disclosed items are initially refused, the estimate is wildly inaccurate, and the owner responds defensively rather than professionally. Amplified Moving turned a quoted three-hour move into a 10-hour ordeal, charged us more than twice the original estimate, damaged nearly all of our furniture, damaged two of our three televisions, caused property damage, and then blamed and insulted the customer for raising legitimate concerns. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF THAT WAS AN OPTION. Here is my story. I know it is a little long: My daughter was planning a move, sell her house and purchase another, three young kids, school teacher, very stressful. You get the picture. I told her that I would handle the movers for her. I called Amplified Moving and was greeted quite pleasantly by the "owner" Patrick. Every time I spoke to him, he told me that he was the "owner". We set up a moving date almost a month in advance so that we could be the first move in the morning. I sent them my $100 deposit because he said that that would guarantee my early move since the end of the month gets busy. Since I had not heard from them again, I called the day before the move, February 26 to see what time to expect them to arrive. I was told between 8 and 10am. So, of course, we are there waiting for them from 8am. At 9:30 I get a call from Patrick "the owner" letting me know that it is his fault that the driver had not left yet because he kept them in a staff meeting too long. They were traveling from Saddle Brook to Rockaway, so we should expect them in about 45 minutes. OK. An hour and a half later, the driver calls me to let me know that he needs another 25 minutes. They show up at 11:55, almost 2 hours late. Now I put a call into Patrick "the owner" and guess what, he can't come to the phone because he is at an event. I will try to post his text messages to me at the end. But pretty much told me that he would make it right with a discount at the end. He would be able to talk after 2pm. Driver comes in and hands me 4 pieces of paper to sign and initial. I told him I would after I had a chance to read them. He says ok and just askes me to write down the start time of 11:55. This paper also tells you that they do not accept checks, will take a credit or debit card but there is a 3% fee, zell or cash. It also recommends that you have food and water for the movers and that you pay them a 20% gratuity, but not required. Fast forward to 6:00 when the move is finished. The driver send the hours to the office and then shows me an invoice over $300 more than the estimate. I told him I would pay once I had a chance to talk to Patrick "the owner", regarding the discount, but the driver was not leaving without getting paid. I called the office and got an answering machine. The driver called and got "the owner's" wife on the phone who made sure she told me she was "the owner's wife". She was working from home. OK I could hear the tv and the kids in the background. She had no idea why she was speaking to me other than I was not happy with the bill. When I tried to explain it to her, probably sounding a little agitated, she pretty much told me that I shouldn't be speaking to her like that. Me not liking her tone told her that I was probably old enough to be her mother and didn't like the way I was being treated. She then told me that I signed for the hours that the workers were there and I told her I hadn't signed anything. The driver had put the start time as 11:15. Her response was why not. She put us on hold to call her husband, Patrick "the owner". Patrick's wife had recorded or conversation, played it to Patrick who called me on my cell phone. Patrick right away took a negative tone with me. To paraphrase, he told me that he was going to talk and that I was going to listen. He told me I had no right bringing up his wife's age. When I interrupted him, he told me that he was not done yet. Now becoming even more angry, I told him that was not going to pay until we got the amount straight. With that he threatened to have the Police come to my house as he does with all people like me. I responded "go ahead". Now Patrick acknowledges that the drive put down the wrong time, adjusts the bill and supposedly takes off an hour to bring the bill down close to what the estimate was. Gave some other kind of discount but I was so angry that I didn't even hear what he said. I repeated the amount so that his driver would hear and then hung up. We paid the amount he said and WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. They gave me a detailed and accurate picture of the excellent quality of service that Amplified Moving provides. Devin who answered my request for a quote, explained that in order to give me an accurate estimate he needed to do a walk through. I was pleased that he wanted to do this - as some companies try to avoid this step. On the date and time agreed to, Devin showed up on time and patiently listened to my concerns and made accurate notes of the items that I was anted moved. This is an intrastate move in New Jersey, moving from a single family home in Essex County to a condo in Middlesex County. I received an online detailed estimate within minutes of the finished walk through that I felt was reasonably priced. With Amplified, All my questions were and are answered in a timely and courteous manner. The manager's confident and optimistic approach to my situation gave me peace of mind. If you're moving a piano, BEWARE. They will claim they are piano movers. Within 20 minutes of touching your piano, you'll find out they aren't. They had to make TWO attempts and both failed. They did not have the proper equipment to move the piano, they hired inexperienced men, they didn't know how to move the legs off a grand piano, resorting to a YouTube video and using the bottom of a drill gun instead of a rubber mallet, they're completely unprofessional when called out for their lack of experience and patronize you with veiled courtesies and text message emojis, they claim that your insurance should handle their negligence, they had three men who took over 6 hours just to tell me they couldn't move the piano up the stairs. I had to hire a professional piano moving company to collect my 40 year old family heirloom grand piano from their warehouse and bring it up. The professionals did what Amplified swore was "impossible" within 90 minutes and zero excuses with all the proper equipment and expertise. During the professional move, we discovered that amplified broke the cast iron locking piece under the legs of the piano and then TAPED THE PIECE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE PIANO WITHOUT SAYING A WORD. This piece is now irreparable. They also dented the wooden paneling under the keys. Kunis also reported that the piano was wrapped completely the wrong way and stored improperly when they got there. A complete disaster. If you're looking for piano movers, these are not your guys. read more

Can't give no stars...would if I could. I moved from new jersey to california. I thought, at first, this company was good. They moved and packed many boxes and only one piece of furniture. Well, the one piece of furniture they damaged while they were packing, but never told me. How do I know this? They inverted the handles on a mirrored piece of furniture and screwed it on too tight and guess what happened? Yup, they broke it. They wrapped it. Put it on the truck and never said anything. When it arrived in california, the next crew discovered it was broken and told me how they thought it happened. It isn't rocket science. You can tell by looking at it exactly how it happened. I contacted them and they said they would reimburse me $250. I submitted the information they needed to send the payment that won't even cover the cost that it took to repair the door, which will never look the same. I have been waiting for a month. Sent an email saying when will I get paid and got a response, "I will look into it immediately." That was a week ago. NEVER use this company to move your furniture. They do not respect you or your belongings. They told me the person who packed up my house would be my move manager. Nope. Had a completely different crew. They are liars. There is something different about the company whoever is in charge now, is not a stand-up person. If you get a quote expect to pay double. Very disappointing, not a good choice. If you get help packing from them expect to pay for many more boxes and paper for wrapping than you ever thought. A Poor Choice to trust with your move. (please sort reviews newest first) Amplified failed in almost every measure on my move, From Estimating the size, to over promising and under delivering. This is a small company without deep pockets. They present the illusion of being a bigger company with one brother Pat in Gainsville, FL and the other, "General Manager" Charles in New Jersey. Truth is they do not use their own equipment on long out of state moves, meaning if something goes wrong, you aren't getting any money back (they have to rent from a 3rd party) The most important piece of a move is closing on the real estate sale. My sale was scheduled for a Friday (moved in the last week to Monday)) - Amplified arrived late on the Wednesday. By 10:30am the Driver notified me that the truck was too small. I immediately contacted Charles (who was servicing another customer in CT) - when did Charles get back to me? - he never did. I called Charles at 7PM (I had to drive to Florida to be there for the arrival of the truck) Charles said" He knew this was a possibility we will go to plan B!" Plan B was to move the remaining goods to storage and use a Common Carrier for the remainder (which means I get to pay an additional $4,000 over quoted price). I called Patrick the following Morning - Patrick got back to me on Tuesday 6 days later-(He was partying in Vegas ) Charles had told me that if we get rid of a few items - we should be "ok" - So I paid amplified prior to my move date $1000 to move large items to friends/buyers - The Amplified truck broke down and was stuck in my driveway for 3 hours delaying each delivery - on the final move the amplified truck door broke - so my goods were left unsecured. As for quality of service, the Amplified Movers destroyed an Antique Table loading into the truck from my driveway (they made it about 20 feet before breaking)- Amplified has made no effort to compensate me for the damage - Additional damage was caused by the tape that the movers used - destroying painted surfaces etc. Amplified had promised that (for a fee) they would box items and really provide a concierge service - After first underestimating the load size and being unavailable for the moving day. Charles (or amplified staff) arrived on Friday to pick up remaining items BUT the didn't bring any moving supplies with them so they would have to return on Saturday - I spoke with Charles Saturday Morning he said they would be there Saturday Afternoon. By 1pm Saturday I spoke with my realtor, who had recommended Amplified, and it was clear Charles would not be coming until Sunday - Charles waited until after 5pm Saturday to notify me (the paying Customer) that the would complete the move on Sunday Charles cried "This is a One day Move that has now taken 3 days" He did not catch the irony that it was HIS job to make sure the job was done properly and he failed miserably - I did not deal with Charles after this - he had done enough damage, there is nothing in his background to suggest he is any type of expert in Moving or Storage. My closing was on Monday and during the final walkthrough on Sunday morning Amplified had still not completed emptying the garage Amplified eventually arranged for a Common Carrier to pick up the remainder of my property and I paid the fee (you really have no options) Naturally, Amplified did not load all of my items -(I noticed days after the Common Carrier had dumped everything into my Garage.) It took Amplified days to even return my email - and more days to confirm they had located my property, the good news "The wouldn't charge me" gee thanks guys. True to form, Amplified never contacted me to let me know when the truck would be arriving, when Juan the driver arrived unannounced on a Sunday Morning he told me he asked for my number but the office would no/did not give him my number - True to form-I was still missing items but Amplified managed to include someone other customers goods in the final move. Amplified did not care about me, they did not care about my closing date, their equipment broke down, they damaged my property and they took me for approximately $14,000 Do not make the same mistake - there are better options for long haul moves than this company read more

This company should be put out of business. I can't say enough about how terrible our experience was. Working now to report to BBB and whoever will listen to make sure they are not allowed to continue operations. They moved our us out of our house and stored our items for 2 nights during Hurricane Ida. Apparently one of the two trucks our stuff was on completely flooded. We were told that our stuff was not damaged or wet at all. However, while moving our stuff into our storage unit I observed every box was soaking wet. I pointed it out and the guys were nasty and trying to tell me it was just one box attempting to hide and lie to my face. They also kept trying to put the boxes into the storage unit after I told them not to because they were soaked. I tried for an hour to contact every owner, manager, etc. and no one would answer my calls. I then called from a different number and they immediately answered. Professional, right? The owner's wife Briana who finally answered told me to go through every damaged box, weigh the items and take photos. She said we would get $1 per pound from insurance that we paid for and then anything more expensive that we could itemize we would in order to get the full value back. My husband and I spent HOURS ripping apart 25 wet boxes, taking pictures, weighing and reboxing. Next thing you know I am told that we will only receive $1 per pound so basically everything we did was for no reason at all. We threw out a bunch of stuff thinking we would get more money back. It's now 2 months later and we have yet to see $1 and cannot get a response from anyone in the company via email or phone call. In addition we had another moving company move our items out of storage recently. As they moved each item they pointed out at least TEN pieces of furniture/items/boxes that had noticeable damage. This was obviously done by Amplified since no one had touched anything while our stuff was sitting in storage. Above all of this the price we paid them was outrageously expensive. The next company we hired charged us HALF!!! Also they required cash or certified check so we can't even recover funds from our bank or credit card. Stay as far away from these people as possible. They are a bunch of crooks!!! In addition, the trucks they showed up in looked like they had been through a tornado. Holes and cracks and doors that don't even shut. I'm so glad I chose Amplified Moving for my move from central NJ to Brooklyn NY. As soon as I requested an estimate from them, I was contacted the next day and had several follow up phone calls and voicemails for the next few days. The paperwork was all emailed to me, and the movers showed up at 9am with a phone call around 8:30 letting me know they were about 30 mins away. DO NOT USE!! We hired amplified movers for a very simple small move. We just needed some boxes, a bicycle, and a large 4 feet tall 30 lbs sports signed moved from a small storage locker to our house. Somehow which we still don't understand they lost the 30 lb giant sports sign. It was loaded onto the truck which the movers as well as us all saw and acknowledged. They arrived to our house did not say a word until the very end where they simply just stated the sign was on the truck when they left and when they arrived it was no longer on the truck. We questioned them and while one of the men laughed they told us they don't know what happened to the sign and couldn't help us. The sign is not valuable but it is irreplaceable to our family and this company couldn't have been ruder and accepted no responsibility or even explanation to us. When you put it out there that you're looking for quotes from a moving service, you get about a dozen calls and responses. I would personally suggest going with another company. While Amplified quoted a "flat rate," they did not move all of our stuff. Even though we had opted to not take as many large pieces of furniture as we had originally told them, they would not move more than 40 boxes. We did not have that much more than 40, and 40 was a number the receptionist on the phone came up with, not me- she said it was standard for a 1 bedroom apartment. I felt like, I'm paying $700, I feel like you can take a couple of extra boxes, especially if I'm not bringing my table, tv and computer. The movers refused to try to fit my couch down the stairs to the basement. They just said it would not fit and left it outside. Finally, I have an old- admittedly very heavy- antique vanity that I had asked them to move upstairs. The movers would have dropped it, and one of them would have been crushed, had I not been standing behind him to catch it. If you are physically unable to do the moving, or to use the good judgement to ask your third colleague to help you, this isn't a great fit for your job. read more

No hidden fees, no holding your belongings until you pay the 'new' price. Your final estimate is what you pay. Period. Took extra care with a very old piece from Hong Kong, as well as all our stuff. Ivan and his team were fast and careful and mid-way thought Patrick and his wife came by (came from a estimate close by) to see how things were going. From the first conversation with Edward, I felt immediately at ease. So many companies "bait and switch" where they give lowball quotes knowing it would be impossible to move in 3hrs (with an hour ride to deliver). Not Amplified! Edward was fair in pricing and always available to answer questions. They gave me a realistic quote (not the cheapest and definitely not the highest). Delvon and his crew arrived on time (slightly early actually!) They were very personable and super professional. These guys are amazing! I would 100% recommend them! I am pregnant and due in 2 weeks, and these guys seriously made moving so much easier. Overall, our move went well: all of our items were moved and only one item was broken. But I list below six aspects of the move that need to be improved. 1) Most of the moving crew did not speak English. There was confusion regarding where boxes should be placed and how furniture should be positioned. I had to move a number of boxes to other parts of our home. 2) We were asked to email our credit card information. This is something you should never do. Amplified did not offer a fax option. 3) Despite Amplified's insistence on having our credit card number, I learned on the day of the move that payment by credit card is subject to a 7% fee. It turns out this was in the contract's fine print, but Amplified should be transparent about this. 4) Amplified changed the date of our move one week prior. 5) Despite my previous communication with Amplified, the movers were not aware that we wanted a "full service move" (i.e. the movers needed to pack our stuff). The movers arrived late in the morning and didn't finish until mid-evening (around 7 PM). 6) The moving team was unhappy with some of our requests on the day of the move. This did not change until we made it clear that everyone would receive a substantial tip. read more

It can be nerve wracking to pick a moving company. You need them to reliably show up on time, professional with your personal possessions, and fit within a budget. I got quotes from probably a dozen companies before choosing Amplified Moving. I liked that they had a flat rate -- they were there several hours more than the hourly rate companies were estimating. The people I talked to on the phone were really great and they were very accommodating when we had to switch the move day last minute, but the movers we got were not great. We were moving from a one bedroom apartment we didn't have a ton of furniture and about 20 boxes already packed and ready to go, we were quoted 4 hours and they sent two guys, which is definitely typical and it was the same amount of time and people we had when we moved in (with a different company). But 3 hours into the move and not a single piece of furniture had left the apartment. Honestly not too sure what was happening during the first 3 hours. When the first piece of furniture (our large couch) did leave they had a lot of trouble getting it down the stairs, understandably. They tried to use the stairs as an excuse for it taking so long but no furniture had even left the apartment in those first 3 hours so that's not why it took so long to begin with. Once I called and complained they got the whole rest of the apartment out and in the truck in about 30 minutes. The whole move ended up taking over 7 hours, which is a little ridiculous for a one bedroom apartment, plus once we got to our new house my fiancé helped unload the stuff and we didn't even ask them to put most of the furniture and boxes in the correct rooms we just had them get it in the house and leave it so it would go quicker. The main office was very accommodating when I complained and they only ended up charging us for 5 hours which I definitely appreciated. read more

I met Calvin and Patrick, (owners) who personally came to my home to do an estimate. They were professional, on time, no BS and very amicable. They offered us the flat rate based on the estimate which was the most competitively priced. The day of the move, they were on time and worked fast with extra care.
