Guess what - sales rep only pushes people who think they had a good experience to post google review. Also, their compensation is tied to google reviews, and the rep is doing whatever is the culture of the business. I was subject to classic bait and switch, besides numerous other questionable tactics (hold your credit card anyone). Only reason I am rating this business as two stars is that when confronted with solid documentation, they agreed to make some amends. It did take approx 5 months to get closure. There service center was worse. Service tech told me I needed an engine flush for a 2011 camry at 50K mi servicing. Charged me over a $100 extra. When I got home, found out that was not required. Called service center, and they told me it was needed for cars driven in 'tough' conditions. Well, agent never asked me how I drove my car, or whether I towed anything. Toyota of Westchester is dishonest and misleading. During my vehicle purchase, I was told a dent and fabric warranty was mandatory, which is not true. I was later promised a refund and told it would be applied directly to my loan principal. I was repeatedly told to "wait until the next billing cycle." I did this four separate times, following up after each billing cycle, and each time I was told the refund had been processed and would appear on the next statement. After four billing cycles with no refund, I contacted my loan company directly and confirmed that no refund was ever initiated. Whenever I call the dealership, I am routed to the sales manager, who says only the general manager can resolve the issue. Despite repeated requests over four months, the general manager has never returned a call. This dealership lies, delays, and avoids accountability once the sale is complete. Please stay away. I cannot advise against this any further. I have come here numerous times (I'm a fool for doing so) and each time have been insanely and grossly overcharged. These guys charge nearly 10x market rate at any Toyota certified independent mechanic. I have a 15k mile, perfect condition 2023 Corolla and this is what they hit me with a bill for before arguing. NEARLY $3000. I understand the TPMS charge inflates this (~1300 without it), but Costco tire alone can do the same thing for under $350. There was NOTHING wrong with my car, I was taken advantage of and signed up for a ~$240 wheel alignment for the second time in 10,000 miles with these guys. I am beyond livid and will never be returning to a Toyota center - please, please, please do your own research and realize these centers exist solely to provide a false sense of comfort to clients that are uninformed like myself. I want to be clear that my experience with this dealership happened eight years ago but the reason I'm updating this review now is because the same patterns of behavior are still happening to people I know today. When I first dealt with this dealership, it was a disaster from start to finish. The only reason they stay busy is because they sell Toyotas, and Toyotas practically sell themselves. The customer service and honesty, however, were nowhere to be found. They repeatedly added products and services we explicitly declined. In my mother's case, they slipped a warranty into the paperwork after she told them in front of me that she did NOT want it. She ended up paying roughly $4,000 over three years for a warranty she never asked for, and because she didn't know they added it, she paid another $1,600 out of pocket for repairs that would have been covered. When we confronted them, they claimed it was "too late" because she had already paid for it. To make matters worse, a manager promised to call her about the issue. That was three months before I originally wrote this review. We never heard from anyone. I wish I could say things have improved since then, but based on recent experiences shared with me, the same tactics are still happening. So I'm updating this review as a warning: be extremely careful with your paperwork, double-check every line item, and do not assume this dealership has your best interests in mind. Had a regular service appointment scheduled at Westchester Toyota at 1:30 last Saturday. Realized I was late and called to see if i should still come in. Was 15-20 minutes away. I was assured over the phone that no problem as long as I was there by 2PM. Had they asked me too reschedule at that point I would have readily done so - I was the one who was late. I arrived at 1:54 PM and met by Kenny Parker who informed me the facility was closed. I tried to explain what I had been told, but he had no interest in listening, and was rude and obnoxious to boot. At one point he told me it was after 2 PM, this last appt. So I showed him the phone, then at 1:56, but that didn't matter either. I asked for the manager and was given the card of Nick Piriyatamwong. I called back upon leaving and left a message for him to call. 5 days later he hasn't bothered. I bought a 2023 Benz GT after on the same day and I can confirm there are no such fees. So all the people at W.Toyota are scum, your mother is scum, shame on your cow, shame on your shrimp, and 1,000 years of diarrhea for all of y'all. So in a nutshell, I needed a beater car and as a result I came to Westchester Toyota. The beater of choice was a $26K MSRP Corolla Cross LE. Marked up from $36K ish and brought down to $29K ish. And approximately $3K for "fees," but we'll get to that in a moment. To start, doesn't matter what dude it was, just the fact they had the balls to try to scam makes them all scum, their mother scum, and scum on all of them. The first problem: MSRP, you think that's the base price for whatever model right, prior to adding all the bell and whistles minus the dealer's fees and what not, correct? Well you would be right! Not to mention it literally says "MSRP." I was in battle, willing to do $28K scum bag was at $29K and refused saying he couldn't go below "MSRP," which was the $29K. I was like no thats not the MSRP, thats your markup price, the MSRP is the $26K, he refused to budge and convinced himself that the $29K was the MSRP like how he thinks he knows who his father is, but that is okay. We spent almost 4 hours in the showroom before we decided on a car and agreeing to its price. When we got to the Finance office is when the trouble started. The guy in there would not agree to the price salesman offered. He wants to add another $300. After a long argument, we agreed to his terms because we were tired of haggling and my daughter really liked the car we picked. The second time it was different. I wanted to buy a 2023 Toyota Rav 4 XLE. We agreed on the MSRP plus $1K mark-up. They offered me a discount of $500, then added $1,050 for pre-delivery inspection (PDI) and $515 for VIN etching on the top of MSRP and insisted that they HAVE to be part of the price. I am hearing if for the first time. In my mind I am thinking it's their responsibility to deliver me a drivable car and they have to bear the cost. I checked with my insurance agent, another dealer and checked online and they all unanimously said they never heard of customer paying such cost. Stunned. I'm absolutely stunned at how dishonest this dealership is. And that's factoring in the assumed general dishonesty of the industry. Short version of the story: I drove 3 hours to buy a car that they assured me was available. When I got there the car mysteriously disappeared and they tried to sell me a different car. I saw a terrific deal on a 2016 Corolla online on Saturday 9/20/2019. Only 17k miles on this car and it's listed at $13,792! This is about $1,000-2000 less than what other dealers seem to be charging. I called at 9:44 AM on Saturday and spoke to a woman named Sheri. She wasn't very friendly but she seemed direct. Sheri told me the car was available and if I made an appointment to come in I would get a discount of $500. She quoted me at $14,400 out the door. I told Sheri I lived about 2 hours and forty five minutes away and I needed to make sure the car was available before I took the trip up there. She assured me the car was available. I called again at 10:06 and made an appointment for between 2:30-3 the same day. I called a third time at 11:45 while I was en route to emphasize the fact that I was traveling a considerable distance to buy the car and I needed to verify the car was available. Sheri told me to hurry and get there before someone else buys it. After 128 miles of driving and well over $50 in travel expenses I arrived at Westchester Toyota. The building was in severe disrepair and all of the staff seemed extraordinarily uninterested. The restroom in the main showroom is closed down and so you have to go upstairs to find another restroom. The elevator does not work. Fortunately I am fully mobile but I feel bad for those customers who are not. I told them I had an appointment and wanted to see the car. They assigned a young man named Jay who told me he needed to find the car and pull it around. If you read enough of these yelp reviews you will know Jay. Completely uninterested in helping me. Jay wandered around for 15 minutes and finally came back to me with keys in hand. Jay led me out into the parking lot to look at what I thought was the car I came for. As we approached the car he casually mentioned that the car I had come to buy was not on the lot! And he proceeded to show me a "better" car. It was about $2,000 more expensive and with more miles on it. I asked him what happened to the other car. He said a customer test drove it at 9AM that morning and the check engine light came on so they sent it to the shop which is apparently closed all weekend. It makes me very nervous that a certified pre owned car with 17k miles would through a check engine light. This dealership has a culture of dishonesty and this "bait and switch" problem seems to be a pattern based on what I've now read on other reviews. Jay sat me down at a desk and told me he would get his sales manager. I sat there unattended for about 15 minutes. There was literally trash on the desk and on the floor. The manager was not friendly at all and Jay offered me an alternative car for the same price. One year newer but with 15k more miles. I reluctantly agreed to look at this car. Astonishingly this car had disappeared too! Overall I was there for 2 hours and did not look at any real life cars. It's a beautiful sunny Saturday. You've called ahead and made an appointment to test drive a specific model that you saw on their website. You're on time for your appointment. You meet your sales rep, and mention that you don't currently own a car. Before they'll let you test drive the car you made the appointment for, they begin some standard sales tactics. After a few minutes of that, they take their time trying to find a plate they can use for the test drive. They start in on financing details and try to get you to commit to buying same-day. They also express that perhaps a 2020 model would be a better choice, because after all it's only a few thousand more dollars than the one you've come to look at. When they sense they aren't going to close the sale that day, they bring in a sales manager who very quickly asks what car insurance you have. Remember, you don't currently own a car, so you don't have car insurance. "You need full coverage to test drive a car," they say. This is a new NY state law, because of COVID-19, you're told; since a staff member won't be in the car with you for the test drive, you need the insurance. Seems to make sense. You leave, somewhat disappointed, and drive down Central Ave to the Honda dealership. It's really interesting -- Honda doesn't require you to have any car insurance whatsoever to test drive one of their cars! And they aren't in the car with you for the test drive either. Wonder if that new NY state law was repealed between the time you left Toyota and arrived at Honda? They will also tell you it's compatible with your phone as long as you have Android Auto, NOT TRUE, only compatible with certain phones and not all Samsungs. What a waste of time and very frustrating. I called them because they had a new vehicle I wanted on their website. I spoke to Jordan in internet sales. He told me the vehicle I was interested in was incoming and would be there in 3-4 weeks. I decided to go there and get a trade value for my current car and see if I can make a deal. I specifically asked Jordan if they add any additional fees and he said only pressing fee, dmv and tax. I go there and test a similar used version of the same vehicle with an excellent salesman Shawn. Then the horror show began...as I waited, Shawn kept leaving me at a desk for long periods as he was trying to get the numbers....this went on almost 40 minutes then I became impatient and tracked him down...and I realized they lost my keys and never appraised my car. We look all around and after about another 30 minutes Angel (the appraiser) finally found them in another customer's envelope. Angel apparently misplaced them. Angel was surprisingly hostile toward me since he caused the problem. So we finally get the numbers and right on the paper were 3 additional bullshit dealer charges...etch 1695, pdf 1982, prep 640 same old nonsense...I would never pay for that garbage....and to make matters worse the used vehicle we test drove WAS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE NEW ONE AND INCLUDED THE SAME BULLSHIT CHARGES. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Went in here last week and had the worst experience I've ever had at a dealership. I knew I might get treated a little differently being a young woman coming into a dealership by myself prepared to buy a car. From the very first interaction I felt the "Are you sure you don't need your daddy here with you" vibes from the salesman. He then tried to talk me out of doing that by telling me "I didn't know what I was getting myself into trying to do that myself" he then tried to force me into accepting less than half of what my car was worth based on some random website he wouldn't even give me the name of when I asked. I followed this up by saying "I know what my car is worth and I won't accept less than that, can we move on from this and continue the conversation" he seemed to be offended by me standing up for myself. I was asking a lot of questions about the pricing, packages, things included, things not included. He was clearly annoyed by me wanting to get the best price possible and all the info I needed before I made a decision. It seemed like he was assuming I couldn't afford the car because I was trying to get in depth details about it. He then asked me if I was looking at any other cars during this process, I told him a few others I was interested in. Which he then took as an excuse to try to push me into a totally different car that I never said I wanted because it was "similarly sized to one of the others I had mentioned" Finally I had enough and I tried to leave politely. I thanked him for his help and told him I wasn't ready to make a decision today. Once I said this his response was to tell me if I was leaving he could probably knock $200 off my monthly payment for me if he worked the numbers. Even though he had told me the number he gave me 10 minutes ago were the best he could do for me. I said "so because I'm leaving all the sudden you have wiggle room with the numbers?" He said "I mean if it means getting a sale yeah". I told him he was sleazy and I left. GUESS WHAT BUDDY I WENT AND BOUGHT A MERCEDES TODAY.
