The dental staff was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. When I asked for a copy of X-rays for a second opinion, I couldn't get anyone on the phone. I sent 2-3 emails, where I also received no response. Finally , they asked me to send a Hippa form, which I did within an hour. Still no response. When I threatened to report them to better business bureau, they said go ahead and said they are allowed 30 days. It's been over 2 weeks now. Previous dentists helped with the same request same day. In the meantime, I am not able to get my second opinion. Do not come to this place. I rarely give bad reviews. This is the 2nd bad review I've given in my life.

If done correctly I would have had an out of pocket charge of less than $25. Since they are in the plan the insurance company sends them the reimbursement check. Im still waiting for the dentist to remit me $72 I was overcharged. I must say if it wasnt for this incident I was ready to switch from my current dentist. I did find Dr Shih to be a good dentist and her assistants were very professional. Unfortunately, by having me pay out of pocket despite taking my insurance has made me rethink the change. No cavities and no work needed. I had cracked a tooth prior which I knew about but didn't think it was serious. Well apparently it was and caused a small cavity. Dr Castanaro fixed my tooth up....despite me acting like a huge baby when he needed to numb me. He worked quickly and was gentle. Was funny and kept me entertained while he worked. During the phone call I find out that my appointment had been cancelled because it wasn't confirmed 24 hours in advance. I asked them how I was supposed to know that, because I wasn't told. I expected the office to call me to confirm. They told me they tried my number, but my phone was out of service. Why this was the case, I don't know, but my phone was fully functional since the dawn of time. Perhaps there was an issue with the network, but the red flag remains: if for some reason you cannot confirm your appointment during that one phone call the day before, your appointment will be cancelled. So, if you happen to be in a meeting, or have a busy day, or just have a bad phone day, your appointment is gone. Perhaps they may benefit from trying multiple methods, such as using email as well, text message, or simply attempting days in advance, so that the one time it doesn't connect, it's not the day before and the patient isn't left confused if that one attempt fails. Once I finally got in, about a week later, the staff were friendly and the dentist was good. No complaints about the clinical aspects of this office. Just a poor administrative experience.

In my time going there, I had to have a tooth pulled, I was told I could no longer get regular cleanings only deep cleanings because my gums were so bad but when they submitted X-rays to my insurance company for approval in paying for a deep cleaning it was denied because my gums actually didn't need it. They bill you for things your insurance company already paid for and when you call back to ask for a refund they pass your call from person to person. It wasn't until I had my insurance company filed a claim that they felt the need to acknowledge their error. I 100% feel the only reason people go here is because dental expenses can be a lot but I learned from experience leaving this dental office has been the best thing I have done for not only my teeth but for my happiness. But trying to get my own dental records back to give to my new dental office was also a draining process over the phone. I had to physically show up at the office to ask for my paperwork because they didn't take me serious over the phone. Now that I left I feel more confident with my new dentist and even though they don't take my insurance and I have to pay out of pocket, I'm getting what I pay for which is professionalism and honesty about my teeth at my dentist which is never what I felt here.
