Showed up to measure for an estimate several months ago, spent almost an hour at the house discussing options, then disappeared. No response to voicemails, emails, etc. Wasted two weeks on these people. Ended up using Tri-State Glass out of Old Saybrook, CT...very professional...showed up on time every time and the finished job looks great. read more

I wish there was a way to give zero stars. First of all: you can never reach them by phone. Second of all, their business practices are deplorable. We had brought them a window to be repaired on 7/15, and explained that we needed it ASAP, as we would be moving out of the home on 8/1. We were promised the window for 7/23. Needless to say, the window was not ready, citing that there was a terrible accident in the shop involving someone's hand, and the window would need to be ordered, rather than cut. Ok, accidents happen. The following weeks were filled with various different excuses as to why it wasn't ready. (Props for creativity with the excuses, however at this point we were explaining to the new tenant as well as the owner of the property what was going on.) We were told last week that it would absolutely be done by yesterday, the 19th. Of course no one was reachable by phone, so today, the 20th, I decided to go down myself to pick up the window. When I arrived, I was told that the window wasn't there, that there had been an accident yesterday with another pain of glass for a shower (insert sob story about not being able to complete a job on Block Island.) I was assured that the glass would be in later today, that it was en route, and they would call me when it was finished. About an hour later, I got a phone call from a young man stating that the truck came in, but yet again, my glass was not on it. I informed him that this was unacceptable, this is no way to run a business, and requested a call from the owner. Half an hour or so later, my husband received a call to come get the deposit and window, as the job could not be done. When I got there, I gave my name, and that I was there to pick up the window and the deposit. The woman behind the desk immediately became defensive and rude. She tried to blame everyone but her business for the window not being ready, and I informed her that not only would I not be doing business there any longer, but that I would so be reporting her via Yelp, Facebook, and the BBB. A man then came flying out of the shop and began screaming at me. She then piped in that it was people like me, writing "shit" online that was killing her business. As I was leaving, after this rediculous ordeal, they placed a cardboard sign in the window stating "we do not repair insulated windows anymore." I took the window to Dependable Glass.. They could not have been more kind; the window will be ready tomorrow. read more

I have always found them to be helpful in the past so brought my order for a partial sheet of plexiglas with 4 holes drilled in the corners. Have a home in Watch Hill and have found Westerly Glass to provide the worst service ever! Very consistent with others here. They just don't care! I Have called three times for an appointment and been promised a visit and call back prior to visit. Each time nothing happened!!! Giving up and could not be more disappointed in the lack of professionalism and common courtesy. They don't pick up the phone. Called an hour after they were open, and 1/2hr before they close.... called multipul times maybe they are closed? The answering maching just says leave a message, so you really arnt even sure its the right number. I had their number saved in my phone so i knew it was right, i even looked it up to make sure. I've had really bad experiences with them in the past and I dont know even know why I considered giving them a second chance.... Pretty sure one of the installers stole my paslode air-less nailer ($350) last time I did business with them. We were the only two contractors on the job and the house was not being lived in. I didn't see him walk out with it, so i cant be certian but it went missing after I reamed them out about breaking something in the house and not telling me, the general contractor, about it. I will say there is one employee there that deserves some credit. Seems to know what hes doing, had a good attitude when he shows up and probably would have admitted to their mistake had it not been for the older douche he was working with. I hate writting bad reviews but Westerly Glass is BS service time after time. Constantly "missing and order" or "it fell off the truck and broke" or "uhhhhh, i dont know" If your not going to give it 100% effort then just close up shop and let someone else takeover. read more

They have scheduled 3 and no-showed on three appointments in the last three weeks. I called today after they missed another one yesterday. The owner could not have cared less, no apology nothing. She said they would try and come out Thursday and then said she had to go because another customer at the shop was also upset with her. WOW. Have to agree with the other review. If I could give 0 stars I would. For some reason they seem to be the only game in town to replace broken windows so that means they can run an absolutely horrible business. One pane of a window broke (11/20/13) so I contacted them to fix it. Went there with the window they got it sized and said it would take 3 weeks. About 4 weeks pass and nothing. I call them up and they tell me they missed a measurement and couldn't find my number so nothing was done. Wonderful. I bring the window again and it was suppose to be another 3 weeks. Of course more excuses come and in the end we didn't get our window until mid January 2014. To give them credit they did give a small discount. Hoped that would be it but later that year (Oct 2014) I noticed that the window was fogging between the panes. Brought it back and they told me it's under warranty. They get a new pane in, I bring it there and get a call later saying the pane was the wrong size so they had to re-install the old pane. Another 2 weeks pass and I call again. Oh yes they have another pane in. I bring the window down and get a call. "The pane is going in the wrong direction so the inner slats are wrong". They install that pane and say they will order another. Should be 2 weeks. More time pass and I call. "Yes we should get that pane in shortly". I tell them they should come to my place to install because I'm tired of driving there. They agree and make an appointment for Monday at 10am. Of course they do t show up. I call and call and never get an answer and their voicemail is full. I'll try calling with another number to see if they are just ducking my call (which isn't out of the question since the woman working the phone has said she was reluctant to call me at one point because all they had were excuses and nothing else). I could have written more about how horrible of a company this is. I really wish I could have found another option but apparently most places won't touch window repairs unless you have multiple windows to work on. I just can't believe it is over a year I've been trying to deal with these people. STAY AWAY if at all possible. read more
