Definitely not the easiest company to work with. We had the sales rep come out early fall to get a quote. We were told our custom sliding door would be in within 6 weeks. Between the price, quality and lead time we decided to move forward. Weeks went by with little communication, no estimated install date, WE had to call to find out when they were coming out to measure again. It took a total of four months to get this door installed. And when we were finally given a day to install, they called asking if we could move it. The install was fast (within a few hours) and the crew who installed was friendly. While the door itself looks nice, the outside has these patches all around. The door itself is also tricky to open. Not pleased and would not recommend window world. read more

do not do business with this company. once you make a product purchase for which they offer a lifetime warranty, you can not get them to honor the warranty. tiffany the owner is irrepsonsible and always to busy to respond to you. i spent $20,000 with them and am trying to be reimbursed (which is how they told me to do it) for $350 (which is alot to me since i am on a fixed income), and cannot get anywhere with tiffany. i have a compliant pending with the attorney general against window world. read more

Had to wait near 2 months for a repair guy, Bob, to come say they don't sell those doors and won't do anything to fix it. Bob was very helpful in the process of choosing our windows, clarifying all of our questions and made himself available throughout the entire project. There was some delays however I feel this is the new normal with every business. Our installer James came over and even though we were not a 100% satisfied at first, he did everything to ensure our end product was up to our expectations. These guys came in over three days to do 6 windows. Not bad as far as the timing goes but you can tell they rushed it. The trim around the windows was terrible. They didn't even cut it so that the walls around it would not get in the way. Now there's an small gap between the wall and the trim! The paint job and caulking was also terrible. Wish I had read some of these reviews before I had the put windows in my house. Not the best Windows's. Top windows do not stay in place when closing them. Sometimes takes 2 people when trying to lock them. One to hold the top window in place and the other to secure the locks. Windows are also drafty around the frame. Would not recommend. Stay away, even on their return to fix the back slider was dumber than dumb. I have a very drafty back door, the first time they installed it the guys literally took out directions to assemble. Obviously someone else had to come back and take the door out and reinstall. Still drafty, 2 guys came out barely spoke English put their hands around the door couldn't find it, mind you they came out on a beautiful day 55 degrees no wind. They were suppose to come the week before but cancelled because it was cold, rainy and windy. I don't get it they were in my house not outside. Tiffany you need to keep this complaint active, when the Coronavirus is over I expect you to fix this. Bob and Karen I expect a call from you as the owners. I had to give a star just to get posted.....but I would give this company a below star rating. It was not just the patio door the whole project was months of problems, 2 other doors and a window. Decent windows at reasonable prices I'll be honest - these are not top of the line windows. But their prices at very fair, their salesmen are not high pressure, there are no "you must agree right now!" tactics. We had an issue with one of the windows leaking but it was quickly addressed and fixed. We got a price first from Renewal by Anderson - they DID play those salesman's games and their price was nearly 5 times (no, that is not a typo) more than what Window World wanted. In fact, for 1, non-opening, 16" octogon window, Renewal by Anderson wanted 50% of what we paid Window World for our entire house. For that reason, when we just purchased another house, we went straight to Window World. read more

Emailed Window World on 7/5/15 to request an estimate for window replacement, siding, trim, gutters and received an auto response on 7/6/15 saying someone would be "in touch shortly" to set up an appointment. Fast forward to today 7/15/15 and not so much as a return call, email, smoke signal, carrier pigeon...no response. From reading the other reviews here, I am wondering if it is a blessing in disguise. Do not have your house vinyl sided by Window World Rhode Island. They use inexperienced vinyl siding installers who rush to finish the job. You are left with a house full of nailed, dented, mismitered, zero quality workmanship. Now the whole house needs to be repaired including the roof drip edge needs replacement because they bent and dented while installing the vinyl. False promises when the work will be corrected. Worst company ever for vinyl siding, started my home back on June 7th and after 4 different crews 13 different guys working on my home it's still to this date August 20th not fully completed. Every step of the way has been a total nightmare, now after they come back from a Window Word convention they want to sit down and discuss things with my wife and I over dinner. Hope I don't throw up with what they have to tell me seeing as one of the questions I was ask was " Did you make your final payment to anyone yet?" I had 9 windows installed in my house last year, 1 awning window in the bedroom is leaking water down the inside of the wall, who knows about the other one in the other bedroom? could be leaking in the wall because the paint is peeling off the wall now! I contacted them and the first thing out of T....... mouth was it cant be the window or the install, how can you make that statement without even looking at the job? if theres a hole in the wall and you put a window in to fill the hole there has to be something wrong with the install! they said they would send out someone to look at it which took another 2 weeks. He agreed that something is wrong and he was going to report back to them. I called again about 2 weeks later to find out what was going on and they said they would get back in touch with me to send the installer back out again to look at the situation. I have not heard back from anyone to date now. Its been 5 months now since I started communication and coming up on 1 year since the install. I was going to give the company the benefit of the doubt and answer the email that I actually sent to an email address, but I am quickly realizing I will get a quicker response if I post it on social media. Windows are not cheap and we're not getting a discount in anyway. I still have to pay full price for the project that is still not completed and I am the one that is continuing to contact them . I am not happy. Below is the email (minus the persons name) that I sent last week to a person that we were dealing with when we setup for an estimate. I put on the subject line "Not sure who this needs to go too-Not a happy customer". Right their you would think if you are not the correct person you would forward it to the right person in the company. As of today November 11, I have not heard from the company. ****** I am sure this doesn't have anything to do with you, since we dealt with you on getting the estimate, but if you can please forward to the correct people that would be great. I figured this maybe a little better than posting it on Yelp, which I noticed many other unhappy customers have done. Not a happy customer- My husband and I saw a great deal and thought we would take advantage of it. We figured we could finance part of it and pay for part of it. The windows were installed the end of September and as of today (November 5) the project is not completed. A gentleman finally came out on Saturday (October 31) and looked at the lock, which I had contacted the company about a few days after the windows were installed. We still have one window that is broken, which I've been told they are still waiting for. Windows aren't cheap, so when I get home yesterday and I had a bill from Window World for the first installment, it is very upsetting. We/I have been the one initiate the calls to the company to find out the status of when the window replacement would be in. I realize now the company is trying to work and accommodate us, but this shouldn't have taken so long for this project to be completed. HORRIBLE! This is the short version ...We ordered a window in April. A damaged window was installed. After waiting to have the manufacturer look at the damage he decided to replace the window. A second window delivered with the same damage 4 months later. A third window shows up and every panel was scratched down to the metal. Called immediately to talk with Tiffany Schumer. She is absolutely awful to deal with. Absolutely no customer service or courtesy. Tiffany told me that my expectation was too high. Are you kidding me? So the only saving grace is that the manufacturer returned our money after 6 months and several phone calls. But we have a damaged window installed in our home. That was our experience. Go elsewhere, hired them to do my vinyl siding, took two months to even start the project, my wife had to carry all materials I to our yard because the delivery driver was from another company and it was pouring rain, six weeks later the house is only half way done, they fired the first crew of two and have been putting either one or two guys on it at any given time most times nobody shows up. Been told not to call the office or talk to the contractor, only to Mike who is their installation manager who will lie threw his teeth about when a crew will be there. Their salesman that came out to my house was the rudest and most condescending person I have ever met in my life. I asked if we could go outside and get measurements and prices because I wanted to see how they stacked up to the other estimates I had gotten. He laughed that I was getting other estimates and said "get as many as you want, you'll still come crawling to us, everyone does". He didn't measure any Windows and just shot out ridiculous prices and when I said that he was a little high from other estimates I had gotten, he got really defensive and started to tell me I knew nothing. He also said that "shopping by price is the worst way to get a window". But isn't that the purpose of an estimate? When i asked how their windows compared to the national brands, he again laughed and said "if you're asking that, you really know nothing about windows". But isn't that why he was there? He stormed back to his mercedes, threw his briefcase in his trunk and threw a pamphlet at me. I kicked him off my property at this point which was about 15 minutes after he got there. After he left I read their warranty and it was the exact opposite of everything he had said, basically if there's ever a problem, it's your house, not their windows. Horrible experience and I would rather have no windows in my house than buy anything from them. Business canceled one appointment, and a was a no show for another appointment. Please save yourself the frustration and look around. Also, the measurement for the window was not accurate, but manager kept insisting it was ok and that they could build a frame around the window. I see that another customer on yelp had the SAME ISSUE with mis-measurement and canceled appointments. My windows also took many steps in order to be installed. Ditto to the other reviewer who also placed several calls and voicemails without hearing back. When I finally talked to the manager about the adjusting the price because of the poor service and workmanship, it was met with an unprofessional and rude response, and was also told that I need to understanding that things happen and appointments get canceled. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY - specifically the Warwick, RI division. I have been trying to get our slider door fixed for the past few months as my brand new white vinyl slider door was not installed correctly. 6-7 weeks later, they called me back to re-install the door - which took 6+ hours as they had to take out the first door that was installed. Tiffany and two men showed up to do the re-install. One man was rude and took many cigarette breaks and had my kitchen smelling like cigarettes for hours after he left. Tiffany stayed for the entire install (which was nice) but left in a hurry right before they were finished. Now I have to call them to come back as I need the lock to be replaced as the key doesn't work from the outside and the screen is not aligned when we shut the door. It never ends with this company. To think that I was going to have this company replace all of my windows is completely out of the question now. This whole process has been more than frustrating and disappointing as my dad was the one to recommend them as he has used window world for his homes. He worked with the owner and had a great experience in the past. I wish I could say the same. The most disappointing aspect as been the fact that I have wasted so much of my personal time calling them to schedule the 2nd install, replace the lock (still do not have a new one yet), re-do the screen door as it is not aligned when we shut the door. Worst experience ever! After what I thought was a professional measurement of my windows, I had to call to schedule my window install (you would think they would have called me), we scheduled a day for the install. I took the day off from work. It started to rain around 9am, I called to ensure my install was still scheduled as plan, "yes" was the answer. Around 12 noon they called to cancel the install because of the weather. We then rescheduled about a month later. When the installer arrived he said the windows were measured wrong and could not be installed. His 'manager' tried to comfort me on the phone by saying the guy doing the measurement was fired after a week and most of his measurements were wrong! This tells me that the company knows they had a problem and didn't follow up to correct the issue! So instead the made windows based on bad measurement and couldn't install them. I m still waiting for my refund! Oh and if you want to type a complaint to the corporate website in North Carolina you are limited to 140 characters! Just a terrible company to deal with. read more

About 2 months ago I hired window world to come in and install windows in my living room and in my kitchen. They were at my home for six hours and they told me that the job is going to take to 2-3. I had to miss work as a result of the misquoted time. I was told that the representative who I spoke to was poorly trained and should not have told me that time. The installers were very unprofessional and sloppy and the windows installed as a result need to be redone because the job was so poorly dobe. They also left a tremendous mess in my house and in my yard. I had to deal with management to try to get the situation rectified and hee two months now I've been trying to get this done and its been one thing after another. They were scheduled to come at 9 o'clock today and now I just got a call saying that they sent their installer out to another job first and then he will get to my house. So I've rearranged my schedule several times to accommodate. Bottom line is they don't care about the customer and they do sloppy work because my windows are still in need of being repaired and I haven't been able to put my blinds up for 2 months or have any privacy until this job is done. And they don't communicate well at all with their customers. Very unsatisfied and would not recommend them. Addendum: Ok now its 10 30 the contractor finally shows up and he can't do the job because he's not comfortable with the materials he was given to do the job I hear him outside arguing with the main office saying he did not feel comfortable moving forward until new windows were ordered. He comes in and tells me he can't stand by the work if we proceed today, so I have to wait another 3 weeks. So we're talking three months by the time this gets done. Yesterday, the strong winds dislodged the top strip of our vinyl siding. I called customer service and spoke with Holly and explained our concerns. She was able to dispatch installation manager James Bordeleau who arrived at our home ONE hour later. He happened to be in East Providence measuring for windows and a decision was made to remedy our issue immediately. James proceeded to make the necessary repairs within a half hour. We had 5 windows installed a few weeks ago after having Window World install 3 windows a few years ago. Our first experience was so good we didn't think twice about hiring them again. However, this time was very different! We had an issue with one window that needed to have the screen trimmed at the bottom and the window balanced. I contacted Tiffany about this problem and after e-mailing her a picture of the screen to be trimmed, she told me that I had her permission to trim it myself since it would take a few seconds to do. Maybe it would but I didn't want to take that chance since I just paid for a new window. Since the installer was coming to balance the window, it would have been nice for Tiffany to offer to have it taken care of for us. The installer did come and did take care of the screen. He was very nice about it. He seemed to have a little trouble balancing the window but finally seemed to solve the problem. My husband and I did check it before he left, and it seemed fine. However, the next day when I opened the window, it started to slip again. I immediately called and spoke to Holly. She was very nice and understanding and told me she would contact the installer and would get back to me by the end of the day yesterday, 9/5/18. I still haven't heard from anyone. Tiffany gives me the impression that once we bought the windows, she really doesn't care about any problems we might have. This is very bad customer service! We have 9 other windows that we want to replace within the year, but I feel that Window World is not interested in our business going forward. I ordered my window in April. It's July 1st. I was told the first one got damaged on the truck. The installer came last Saturday when I wasn't even home. I got up at 6:30 this morning to be ready for 7:00 (assuming I'd be the first install of the day). He is still not here and it's after 8:00. Some of the agents have been very difficult. One is very sweet on the phone but... My customer experience has not been good.
