This is pretty much what you would expect for a bowling alley in Omaha. Nothing fancy at all, pretty much the opposite. Plenty of families there, every lane was booked when we arrived on a Saturday around 2 PM. We ended up waiting about half an hour to get two open lanes for our group. We had a good time, bowling, and didn't have any issues with the lanes. The bathrooms aren't very clean here, and overall the place does feel a little dirty (like any bowling alley). Customer service was good, and we didn't have to wait in line for anything while we were here. Overall, the only thing that should have about this place was that they have a small bar and food area, as well as a small hallway of arcade games. This is my first review of a business ever...but I can not be quiet about how badly I was treated by The owner of Western Bowl. He was an absolute jerk. I took nine boys there to celebrate my son's bday. I asked several questions about gutter rails (I won't go into all the details) and he just came unglued. I guarantee that I would not have been treated so poorly if I was a man. We left and I spent my money at Spare Time. I love to support local businesses, but I will never again go to Western Bowl. There is no excuse for a business owner to speak to a customer the way he did. read more

Western Bowl is your average bowling alley with all the normal aspects you would expect. Customer service was good, but, not overly friendly. Lanes were clean. Food was okay. Drinks were overpriced. All of the above is on par with every bowling alley we have been to and met the expectations we had walking in. Happy fun times Yelpers! read more

I am normally not a person that posts on yelp. But this was so dumb that I HAD to write about it lol. It looks like my review in on par with the the last few as well. Here we go; Terrible customer service and sharing of information. We have called three separate times to reserve a lane within the 10am -5pm hours listed on the website. Each time, the response is "not today we have the league playing" and "not today because we have a tournament." THEN UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE! That's what it's for! When I asked what date the tournament ends to start their regular days again the response was "9pm". That's not a date. That's a time. when I said "okay..." to start asking another way, since he clearly didn't understand the initial question, THE GUY HUNG UP ON ME. I'm not the only person on here mentioning how rude this person is. From what I can gather from all the other 1-star reviews, this person is the owner. Get it together man; Sure... you are probably depressed that you operate a shitty run-down bowling alley, but taking it out on your patrons is just pathetic. Get help. Whoever is working there around 5:30pm on 2/8/23 must not enjoy their life very much. It's probably because their occupation is working the desk phone of a bowling alley, so I can't blame them. Called to reserve lanes as I've never been there before and the angry, mid 40s man simply said "no" and hung up. So as anyone most likely would, I called back and stated that he had just hung up on me and I wasn't sure why the call ended right then and there. With an agitated tone, he said that they don't take reservations and it's first come first serve. I acknowledged, and then questioned if that warranted him to not explain that to me the first time I called instead of telling me no and hanging up? He then proceeded to say nothing back to me which led ME, to then, hang up. The bowling is all fine and normal, but the people working the front desk are always so incredibly rude and mean that it ruins the fun. We have been coming once a year for a family event, and I have started to dread it. It's unfortunate, because otherwise it's a basic bowling alley in a good location. Nothing fancy, and a little beat up, but that would be fine if it wasn't for the horrible owners/managers. They do things like eye-rolling and sighing for no reason, yelling at people that they can't bring in a water bottle, angrily telling people which tables they can sit at, and being irritated with kids why need to exchange shoe sizes. They act like people coming to bowl is such a nuisance and are very sad unhappy people. read more

So I have to preface this 5-star review by saying how much I love anything that is accurately reminiscent of the 80s. And few things still capture the complete essence of that era more than a good, old-fashioned bowling alley that's stayed true to its roots. Western Bowl is that kind of place. Although being situated on a small hill adjacent to a major roadway, Western Bowl seems only to be accessible through a small network of non-descript side streets. Thanks to my GPS I was able to find the place with relative ease. The windy roads seeming to lead to nowhere made me think I might be en route to the Batcave. Instead, little did I know I'd soon be stepping into the most totally awesome teleporter to 1982. And there it was. Western Bowl. 3pm on a Monday afternoon. We picked this place to do some team building with our work colleagues. Since I live in New Jersey and only work in Omaha part-time, these kinds of activities are important for us to bond, have fun, and just plain get silly. There were few cars in the parking lot, which was not a surprise given the time of day. The place looked a bit run down from the outside, which is always a sign of a great bowling alley. Once inside, I realized I had discovered gold. All that was missing was the piercing smell and blinding fog of cigarette smoke. Western Bowl is a classic; a place that feels completely skipped over by time. And while completely clean and modern in terms of lane quality, machinery, and equipment, you could not help but feel as though you stepped back in time. Arcade? Check. Bar? Check. Greasy food counter? Check. You couldn't build a movie set depicting bowling in the 80s more accurate than this. But here's where they really earned the extra points. For one, the pricing felt like I was back in the 80s. Food, booze, and bowling for about 15 of us ran under $200. And the food? Far better than the average crap most bowling alleys sell. I'll go so far as to even say it was damn good! Mozzarella sticks, buffalo wings, and cheese fries were greasy perfection. Even the full sized pizza pies held up better than most crappy pizza joints I've experienced back in Brooklyn! All made to order, and for cheap, cheap, cheap! I was also very impressed with the service. Everyone working here was the epitome of "Omaha friendly." Super nice. Super accommodating. And just very attentive throughout. We had an absolute blast. I stopped going to bowling alleys over a decade ago because they were all becoming these retro-fitted modern playgrounds that lacked any heart and soul. Western Bowl is the real deal. I took my two girls bowling today they had a wonderful time. The staff were friendly and did their jobs properly. We ordered the pizza and pitcher of soda we got water instead. The pizza was delicious food service person was friendly and even brought us our pizza. As long as you act proper and know bowling as well as food may be a little pricey any place you bowl, your going to have a great time. read more

You can bowl. You can drink. They even have some eats. Can you find it? That is the fun part. It is hidden in the edge of a Millard neighborhood . The lanes are cheap and the balls are heavy. Imagine how they walk! We went to a funraiser here and had a blast. The staff were very accommodating and the place was clean. I don't know what else to expect. Had the occasion to go here for a charity bowling nite from work. Access is a little tough as the re is no direct access via L street....but once figured out..its easy. Atmosphere was very lively with cool alleys and music playing. Good resources such as bar and food. Priced to afford to have a good time. Staff in kitchen seem like they don't care about their job. Ordered fries and it took 25 min also they tasted like day old stale McDonald fries. And that's not an exaggeration. Not only the food was horrible but the lanes are really oily and I usually bowl like 150-200, I couldn't even bowl a 100. read more

I tried using my debit card to buy food for myself. The lady working at the snack counter started getting pissy with me very rudely refused to let me use it. Long story short, the lady working the kitchen was incredibly rude and refused to let me use my card unless i had someone else confirm it was mine! Can you give zero stars?? Probably the worst experience I have ever had ANYWHERE doing ANYTHING. I've encountered rude customer service at places over the years; it's going to happen, and usually I just brush it off and would never waste my time writing a review. However, this place deserves a shout out. I am actually still in shock at how rude the owner of Western Bowl, and his employees were. I was so excited to relive my high school years and go "country cosmic bowling" tonight with some co-workers. To my dismay, the place was a far cry from the jam-packed Thursday night fun house that it used to be. No cosmic lights, a closed kitchen, and the RUDEST employees I've ever experienced.
