I warn you now, never ever go here!!! I thought I had bad experiences with dentists earlier in life, boy was I wrong. This place is a money hungry, assembly line of torture. I will be demanding a refund, and I am considering further action. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was in so much pain and very anxious about my visit. Only two people in that office cared that I have this fear. One was the very nice girl on the right at the front. The other was the amazing tech who did my X-rays. She spent so much time with me. She coached me and guided me through the whole X-ray process. That was another phobia of mine, but she made it easy; I wish I could thank them both for it. They were amazing!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After that, it was all about making me spend more money once insurance paid. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I agreed to see the oral surgeon and made an appointment. I had concerns before the oral surgeon's appointment, plus my script was called into the wrong pharmacy, so I tried calling the office. Good luck with that. You will be constantly rerouted to a call center with employees who know nothing about dental. All they say is, I'll try to call the office, and then they you are told, "well, they aren't answering." That's all you get!! No answers, no nothing. I got hung up on several times when I asked, "so what do I do now?" One call center employee said, "maybee you should go into the office and talk to them." Seriously?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once in for my surgery, I waited 2 hours in the lobby. Mind you, I've expressed my fears and anxiety. It's real! I'm scared to death of the dentist. 2 hours!! So my anxiety is just building at this point. They call me back finally and put me in a chair and then left me alone for another 30 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Finally, some guy comes in and I once again try to express my fears. He asks, "well how bad is it?" I say really bad, I'm a grown man but I'm almost in tears," he then just walks out. Nothing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]20minutes later a different guy walks in and starts prepping a tray, not acknowledging me at all until ask if he was gonna be in there with me. He says, ya, and I again expresses my fears. And again he walks out, nothing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The oral surgeon finally comes in, this is now 3 hours after my scheduled time, he doesn't say anything to me but grabs the needle and comes at me. I freaked. I closed my mouth and said NO. He leans against the counter and stated, " If you can't handle it you can go somewhere that will sedate you." What kind of bed side manner is that?? I really needed this work done as I was, and still am in so much pain. I let him work on me but it was not pleasant. He numbed me up but I knew it wasn't enough. As soon as he grabbed the tooth I yelped. It hurt right away and he said "hold still!" I kept trying to say, not numb, not numb! Then he pulled. None of this was okay, and now I'm still in pain. On top of this I agreed to bone graphs. I should have known better. That is a total scam! Today, 2 days later, one of my stitches fell out. That's not suppose to happen. I'm a Surgical Tech, stitches don't just fall out after 2 days, and btw, bone graphs take longer than 3 seconds. I knew I was getting scammed, but I was so anxious and in so much pain I let it happen. I'm pretty sure there is now more infection from his work than before. I'm bleeding with an open gap in my gums, extreme pain, and I can't get anyone to answer the phone at the office. Just choose another dentist office. Trust me! Please never go here!!!!!!!! read more

I needed extensive work done and the financial coordinator offered to put me on a payment plan. I filled out an application and when I asked if this was checking my credit she said no. That wasn't true. They attempted to open a line of credit in my name without informed consent. When I showed the coordinator the letter from Sunbit she said Sunbit shouldn't have run my credit and many of her clients get credit without a credit check. I asked her how would they know I was good for it plus as far as I understood I was filling out an application that would determine what kind of payment plan she could put me on and knew nothing about a third party financer that would charge me 24 percent! [[HIGHLIGHT]]She apologized and the day I began my treatment and was sitting in the dental chair and had a significant absess, I felt she resorted to intimidation and coercion.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Since I was not using sunbit i wanted clarification and all of the details of my contract in writing. She couldn't supply them and said it was the way corporate did things and I said that violates truth in lending practices. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She appeared upset and suggested a refund and referral. I said,"Well, if that's what you want to do, but I wasn't going there yet."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She then said,"well, do you want to proceed?" I realize businesses can deny service but not for discriminatory reasons and requesting transparency in lending and denying based on that request is discriminatory.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also have a disability and need things explained slowly and she seemed impatient. I've been a patient here for braces for a couple of years now. I'm writing this review because of an experience I had with Maribel (one of the temp ortho staff, I believe) on 7/3/24. Out of my many appointments for adjustments, she was the one worker who stood out. Even though I had been a patient there for a while, she explained what was happening and answered my questions patiently. She was also very gentle in doing the adjustments, and I didn't feel at all like I was being rushed. I just wanted to give her a shoutout because she made my experience that much better. I don't know how they stay in business. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When you call what appears to be a local number, it routes you to a call center and they stack appointments on top of each other.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The dentist then just turns you away when you show up. I broke my tooth on a Sunday and so I called first thing Monday morning to make an emergency appointment. I assumed I was talking to the Vallejo Western Dental. They were able to get me an appointment the next day. I'm a school teacher, and had to get coverage for my class in order too leave work early. When I got to the dentist, two people in front of me told the reception that they had appointments at the same time as I did. When I got to the window, she told me it would be a 2 hour wait. Ok fine, if I have to. I mean, my molar is missing half its tooth--I need it pulled. Then she starts waffling saying I need to return tomorrow. I can't. It's an emergency. I have an appointment. She says she will go check and then she's gone for a while. She comes back and says that they can do X-rays but that's it. I'll l have to come another day. I explain that my tooth is broken, that I made an emergency appointment. With half my tooth gone and my root exposed, it seems serious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Her response: "I can ask again, but if they say no, they say no."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ok I realize now that I booked my appointment through a call center. Poorly managed staff. Long wait times. They lie all the time and they purposely submitted my partial incorrectly just so they didn't have to do it. When I called them on it, they lied and said they didn't submit it that way ( little did they know I had the reason and rejection letter) . Then they tried to remove me as a patient for being "belligerent" to which I forwarded to my attorney to file a discrimination law suit and make a complaint with the California dentistry board. If I could give no stars, I would. Visiting either office on Sonoma in Vallejo has been increasingly problematic for several months. Customer service has gotten worse and more unprofessional than ever because of a CLEAR disconnect from the office and call center. My daughter's ortho appointment last week was once again not recorded correctly, and they had a record of her ortho appointment but not her general appointment for cleaning. (It's bad enough that people with braces can only receive general dentist services on the orthodontics days, which only happens twice a month. So when you messed the schedule up, it literally could take weeks or maybe more than a month to get rescheduled.) Then, after all that disappointment and wasted time already, I sat there for another 48 whole minutes, missing work and her missing school to be there, before the receptionist tells me there's actually no ortho staff and someone tried to call me. LIES. Another lady came in just then, and they told her the same. She too got no call. They have ZERO consideration for people's time. I'm paying $1000s for my daughter's ortho, and she needed a 6-week adjustment since NOVEMBER and its February. And this isn't the first time it's been well overdue because of their failed appointment maintenance. Unacceptable. And yes, I'm sending letters and telling everyone who will listen at this point. read more

This Western Dental on 3587 Sonoma Blvd, Vallejo is the worst dental service I have ever gotten in my life! Office staff were ok but they seemed disorganized and the waiting room was packed with patients only to find out there was only one dentist for the day! I had 11:30 am appointment, waited one hour. When they called me in, they said they can only do Xray since dentist had to go to lunch and return at 2 pm to do the cleaning! So I agreed and had to kill time for 1.5 hr. When I returned, they wanted me to wait in line again to sign in! I said, 'No, I was here earlier and they asked me to come back!' When they called me in, I walked thru the long hallway to a depressing area, dirty floors and equipment looked old and unkept! It was not a warm, inviting feeling. I sat on the chair and they put the bib on me. The lady assistant lied to me and said she checked my benefits and that my share was $96! I knew that wasn't correct, so I figured, don't argue with anyone with sharp tools! While sitting in the chair with the bib, lady asked, "How do you want to pay for it?" They had to reach me my purse for the credit card. How tacky and low class of her to do that! She was very unprofessional. I felt so insulted and embarrassed. You don't collect from the patient when they're already on the chair with mouth open to be worked on! I told her I have Medicare with Kaiser/Delta Dental and I get 2 cleanings, 2 X-rays and 2 exams per year! She instead she checked my benefits. What a liar! So I paid $96.00. I don't know what kind of scam she was running! When I got home, I called Kaiser and Delta Dental and complained to them about what happened. They confirmed my benefits as I mentioned above. I also disputed the charge with my credit card. What a mess! Then they kept hounding me for payment. One guy yelled at me and said, if you don't pay, who else will pay for it? I explained my benefits and the guy kept cutting me off expecting payment! He was so rude and unprofessional. Why they hire people like that - instead of hiring talented, quality people. I guess that's what they get with low paid employees. The dentist was okay - I believe his name was Cho. He had dry personality and lacked people skills. I also smelled his lunch on him. Gross! Both of the dentists there are young energetic and efficient, they don't even need assistance. Went for 6 month check up and asked dentist about a tooth I was concerned about. Dentist never answered my question about the tooth I was concerned about and they did not clean my teeth. The dentist said I need to work on brushing and flossing (never asking what I currently do, as I floss regularly and brush most days 2-3 times ) then another person came in and said next time I would have to pay 45 (not sure for what service ) then they made appt for 3 months later hmm they said I have a lot of plaque and now they make a. Appt 3 months later. When this appt was 6 months from my last appt. I only came for a scheduled cleaning at 3:00 I arrived early and here it 5:30 still no help . I stopped coming to this office 3 years ago because of how horrible their service and employees are , but since they closed the only other location in my city I was forced back here . I think they forgot that I was waiting, I had to go up to them and I saw that she was just sitting there at the counter, waiting for the next person. When we went to the appointment they said doctor is not in so we have to reschedule and earliest appointment isn't until another 2 weeks. They are scam artists trying to sell plans and always booking for exams and not actual cleanings so they can get the most out of your insurance. They always charge me for copays when my insurance told me specifically that i don't need to pay a copay for a regular (code1110) cleaning. Was scheduled for a dental procedure on 3/22/23, which didn't happen per dentist. They stated they processed refund that day and it would take 4-10 days for refund. I called and called, finally spoke to billing in office and she said she would escalate email because I should of received my refund by now. She suggested to call customer service billing. I talked to a CSR that stated I would not get a refund for 20-45 days which was NOT told to be at the office. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the rep stated supervisor not available and was about to take lunch and would call me back, I never received that call. I have since filed a complaint with BBB. BBB emailed me and stated after multiple attempts they still had not heard back from Western Dental. As of today, still no update or refund. Today is 4/18/23, almost a month later. read more
