In 12 years the quality of care hasn't changed, even though my relationship with the dentist has. After moving overseas for 5 years, they picked immediately back up with my continuity of care. I've had Invisalign since returning and my regular maintenance. I've also started using a Flaus flosser and NOBS toothpaste which has been a game changer. My last visit was the best progress report my gums/teeth have ever gotten and may I say that I actually love going to the dentist now?! This review is solely about the receptionist. I decided to re-establish myself at Glen Cove Dental. Mind you I've been coming here off and on since high school (I'm now 41). I was also made aware that Dr. Jackie does ortho treatment and decided to schedule an appointment. Made the appointment for a cleaning and ortho consultation. On the day of my appointment I arrived on time. Everything seemed to be going smooth until I gave the receptionist my address. I was then interrogated with questions like "Why are you coming here" and "Why did you come back". There was no thank you for returning or we appreciate you being a loyal patient. Almost felt condemned about my choice to return. It caught me off guard but I explained how I liked Dr Jackie and how I really felt comfortable with her service. The receptionist kind of just stared and said "oh ok". I get to the back and I thought I was taking regular X-rays and I was told the images were for the ortho consult. I apologized for the confusion and explained that I moved forward with another Dr. for ortho and just needed the cleaning done. I also explained during a confirmation call that I no longer needed the ortho treatment just the cleaning. The hygienist returned with the receptionist and she said "I'm confused on why you're here". I explained again for cleaning services. She said "well you went to all these places how do we know if your insurance will cover the X-ray". I explained to her those Xrays were done by orthodontist and that's just a panel view not a dental X-ray and I paid for that out of pocket. She went on and on about my last dentist and you went to so many prior dentist and I don't understand why you're here. At that moment I didn't know why I was there allowing her to speak to me like a child. I said "can you call met life and see when the last submission for X-rays was". She said no and gave an exhausted explanation about her having to call my prior dentist. Mind you I went to one orthodontist who I moved forward with treatment with and my prior dentist who I mistaken my last appointment date. After I left I called met life to confirm all service submissions and come to find out I was actually seen the end of last year so none of my money was used nor has anyone submitted anything for payment. I'm sure the receptionist could've done that. Anyway, I told her I would reschedule and just her lack of professionalism threw me off. Does it matter if I drove from Brentwood? All you need to know is I like Dr Jackie and it's not coming out of your pocket. I sat in my car for five minutes going over in my head if I should walk away or stay and deal with the rude receptionist because I like Dr. Jackie's work. Just knowing I would have to deal with the receptionist made me walk back in thank her and told her I'll just keep my previous Dr. It was no "let me change your mind" no "how can we keep you as a patient". She has the nerve to wink and said okay. No care in the world. Wasted gas, toll and time. Worst part is I lost a great dentist like Dr.Jackie. read more

Dr Jacquie is literally my tooth savior. After extensive orthodontics and braces for almost 3 years..I had a couple of gum protrusions from periodontic disease in my bottom gums. And while I had a team of dentists in my previous hometown, they were all very young and never asked about my overall health to fully understand the situation. Immediately she knew I had a health condition causing the gum issues and visited my doctor and began the healing process. Dr Jacquie is bold, so confident in what she's doing and I literally felt I had landed in the hands of a Dental god to get me to a long awaited finish line of getting my teeth straight and healthy. She also helped create a retainer for me to be able to eat with them and not look gross pulling out my invisilign retainer for every meal (especially with friends in public)...something my other ortho wouldn't even try to accommodate for me. I love Cindy at the front desk..and Shakira, Jacquie's assistant who was very knowledgeable and has a great chair side manner. Jacquie is straight up and gets into issues that may sound scary, but she's honest and her experience and reputation proves what a powerhouse she is in her industry! I can't give any stars really, since I called and made an appointment for three weeks since that was the soonest appointment she had in the afternoon. With what I thought was a note to call if anything sooner came up. It was on my calendar, for which I was under the impression it was set. My husband said morning was fine, so I left a message that if anything came up sooner for a morning, we would take it no call back, so we showed up at the time and she said she never booked the appointment. But that it was my fault for not calling her. I would like to answer to the actual dental work, but nothing was done, I lost ,3 hours of pay and my husband was still in great pain when we walked out without any work being done. read more

So we called to make the appointment based off of a recommendation and we asked if they took our insurance and the woman on the phone said they did. So we called and spoke to the insurance company and they said there is two doctors in the network and one of them dropped out of the network in 2017/18 and the other was never apart of it. So I called back and left a message to cancel the appointment and called back my insurance and for the information to find how to find a dentist we could use with updated information. This receptionist for the dentist called back to confirm again the appointment and I explained her records were wrong, they weren't in network and I wasn't going to pay a copay for services we were covered for but thank you. She seems to think my insurance company is wrong. That didn't sit well with me. We still took our business elsewhere because even if our insurance is a conglomeration it still has to keep better records than her office that let one of their doctors fall out of network what is now 3 (three) years ago. So, although I'm sure this is a very nice dentist office, I just would say make sure your insurance does in fact cover your services rendered because routine cleanings, fillings or whatever are not cheap at any age. And they're called routine because you have to do them all the time. So you will have to find someone you are comfortable with. Things like that cost. Please do the research. read more

I went in for a FREE consultation for braces. Dr. Jacquie was very thorough on her explanation of what she recommends, the other options out there, and her opinions of what she though of them. I felt as though all my questions were already answer, before I even ask them. Love the welcoming feel of the office, and the kind assistant in the front. Background -Been coming here for years since I was a kid. I've seen both Dr. Larry and Dr. Jackie. -I live in Walnut Creek (about 30 minutes away) and would still come here regardless. -Since I've been coming here for a while I've grown nice relationships with the receptionists, dentists, hygienists, and others. --For example they had all asked my about my board exam after I told them about it half a year ago (Not sure many other people even remembered but these guys did) Area -Tucked away into a little corner of a Safeway parking lot -Ample amount of parking Front desk -Receptionist is always welcoming and kind. Always gives you a call a day or 2 ahead to remind you of your appointment or if anything needs to be rescheduled. The best. Dentists and Hygienists -The best people I've had work on my teeth, hence my 2 decades of patronage. ---For people who may say I've never had other dentists to compare to, I travel the country for school and I've seen many dentists over the years for various check ups and procedures here and there when needed. These experiences make me appreciate these guys that much more. -Very gentle with your teeth. I know maybe people have sensitive gums and teeth but these guys take care of you. -If you're scared about having your teeth worked on, you shouldn't be. Again, extra precaution and care when they're working on you and if anything gives you a jolt, let them know and they'll sit you up and let you rinse if you want. For those of us who don't take the best care of our teeth -Some people in the field sound like they're a bit condescending when they tell us to floss, brush better or this other way. Not GCD, but they will remind you of proper form and frequency. Not only are they gentle with your teeth but also with your feeeeeeliingggssss. As for the $$$ -Procedures of any kind (dental, medical, etc) are always going to cost some money. How much you want to put into your smile is how much you'll get out. Bottom line I can't drive this point home enough. Very gentle and cautious with your teeth. People who are scared need to give these guys a try and you won't be disappointed or in pain. -I compare everyone to the quality of Glen Cove Dental, if I found someone better I wouldn't still be seeing them. Great friendly staff! They made my visit soo easy. I walked in to make an appointment for discomfort and pain I was having and they took me in on the spot to see exactly what the problem was. Prescribed me antibiotics and pain medication and explained what the problem was in less than an hour. They made everything so convenient for me. They knew I was scared and took care of me by making sure I was comfortable. This is the first time I was truly relaxed at a dentist office with no one judging me and criticizing me. I went to these guys after 9 years of not visiting any dentist. So, needless to say, I have weird dentist anxiety and it took something big to get me to see anyone. My back molar broke and there was some disgusting black piece of tooth left. Terrified, I decided I needed to have it fixed immediately. I visited another dentist and they wouldn't be able to fit me in for weeks, so I called these guys and they were able to find a spot for me the next day. All of the staff was super nice and courteous. They were able to guess that for my root canal I would benefit from nitrous due to my anxiety. Anyways, the whole root canal process was relatively quick and not scary. My tooth looks great and I'll be coming back to them for the few other cavities I have. These people are awesome and I feel that I may have finally been cured of my dental anxiety! read more

I have had a simple teeth cleaning to a complicated crown. Each time I have felt confident and comfortable in their chair. Without a doubt, these folks, doctors as well as support staff, are really on top of their game. I've been going to them for over 10 years and have had just about everything done at least once. Never have I needed any pain meds after any of the procedures, I've slept through several root canals, and have been very happy with the work done. Very nice atmosphere, positive attitudes and they will always spend time talking with you and answering your questions without making you feel rushed. Very considerate, thoughtful, and talented.
