Where do I begin? After working for this district for almost a year, I reported abuse and neglect…read moreby the hands of other employees against severely handicapped students. I was suspended and ultimately fired and upon requesting my employee personnel records and files, I received NO disciplinary actions against my record whatsoever nor any contest to the 10 page written testimony I sent the district in a cert. letter. I have a passion for advocating for students and had to defend myself in this situation when there should not have been a situation. Effie Crush, former head of HR (she's abruptly "retiring") and representative who spoke on Superintendent David Gordon's behalf, stated the abuse and neglect I witnessed with my own two eyes raised concerns for the district (it should have). While mocking my status as a sub, it was stated that I made "judgements" against the other employees and that as a "sub" because I hadn't worked in the class where the abuse and neglect occurred, I didn't know the students IEP's and staff enough to have written what I did. I questioned whether or not an IEP or "judgement" would -ever- tell employees to NOT feed students, force their head to a table, etc. The response I received from the district was that they 'cared' about student safety and well-being...really? If that were true, those comments would not have been made and I wouldn't be till this day unable to work for them. This is my review and truth for all to see and stay mindful of where you send your children.

5 stars - Fantastic Experience with Wake on the Lake!…read more We had such a great time with Wake on the Lake! They were incredibly easy to work with and managed to get us in for a Father's Day weekend charter on short notice on Folsom Lake, which was much appreciated. We booked a 3-hour trip and packed in a ton of fun! The crew was totally flexible and let us customize the experience to be exactly what we wanted. We cruised around the lake, swam, and even tried water surfing behind the boat. Sky was amazing with our daughter--she gave her a lesson, walked her through the basics, and coached her the entire way. It made the experience so much more memorable for our family. They came fully equipped with everything we needed, including life vests for the whole crew. Whether we had wanted to just relax and cruise or stay in the water the whole time, they were happy to go with whatever worked for us. Next time, we're definitely going to try the tubes and the floating island--they had it all ready and it looked like a blast. Highly recommend Wake on the Lake if you're looking for a fun, professional, and flexible boat charter experience!

After a break for a semester, I decided to look into programs I might have interest in and I discovered NCE Optician Technician! It's been going on for sometime but it was new to me! I got a call from Keenan and I thought I was getting into something shady... but I had nothing to lose. I decide to show up to the meeting and Keenan showed enthusiasm and he knew his position really well. I won't lie he got me into this program with a little nudge and I'm glad I got in! My first day in the Optician class seemed very intimidating but also refreshing. Everyone seemed eager to learn. Mr. C was an amazing teacher, gets straight to the point, teaches you what you need to know and if you have any questions that he might not know, he will find the answer pretty quickly. Mr. C has a very fun personality and honestly, I will miss this program. The counseling was great, the financial staffs gets straight to the point on your financials, and they help you with your externship! I'm starting my externship on Tuesday and I'm super excited! I hope whoever is reading this, whoever has bad eyesight and want to learn more about eyes, consider Optician Technician! It's a fun learning experience and I believe if a drop out can do it, you can!
