Avoid this company at all costs if u care about your loved ones!

It took 5 days of back and fourth emails to finally receive a quote and having to hear complaining through email about how difficult of a request it is for them to find a service provider (outsourcing) willing to travel as 33 miles as its to far. I was told there are many unknown challenges with providing a quote for transportation such as traffic, accidents or road construction examples that could effect the transportation price. All problems which have no concern to the customer. From the way it sounds they maybe trying to take advantage of elderly customers who do not know any better by leaving an open door to add extra charges as they feel necessary.

A person in the restaurant mentioned good service from VIP, and the Yelp reviews looked good, so I called them up. There was some difficulty communicating my location, but the call taker was courteous and asked questions like would I be inside or out (it was raining and hot, so in), whether I wanted a text or call when the cab was within 5 min, (call) and then provided an estimate of 20 min. I did get a call when the cab was on its way and it arrived in less than 20 min. My driver was Deryl S. and he was very polite and knew where my apartment complex was. We had a good conversation how different taxi companies have taken different strategies while merging into larger groups. VIP if I remember what Deryl said correctly was primarily in Chicago, bought several other more national chains and owned and maintained all their vehicles (one reason the cabs look older is because they have been well maintained, are well built and paid for). Other companies have borrowed heavily and their success will depend on them keeping up on their loan payments. We also talked about Uber and some of the other non-traditional "taxies", but both agreed they don't have proper livery insurance or driving credentials, so one is taking on a lot more risk with those companies and will find out at the worst time (after a bad accident). Deryl dropped me off at my apartment and I enjoyed the option of paying by credit card which I know most services offered as well. Highly recommend Deryl S. and VIP as a full service, fully insured taxi option.

This company was the one our hospice company used to transport my dad to his respite stay. The guy…read moretried every excuse possible to not do his job. 1. He said the stretcher wouldn't be able to fit in the hallway. I told him the fire department had no issue fitting their stretcher in the hallway. 2. Then he said it wouldn't fit through the doorway. I told him both the fire department and the transport company used by the hospital had no issues fitting their stretchers in the doorway. Our doorways are the average size, so with that logic, the stretcher wouldn't be able to fit through most doorways.. 3. He complained the bed was too close to the wall and it would need to be pushed all the way to the other side of the room for the stretcher to fit. None of the other companies had to move the bed to transfer from stretcher to bed. He did not want to try move the bed until I said I would do it myself if he didn't know how to do it. 4. He said that hospice was supposed to be there to help and that he wasn't allowed to touch the patient. I had the hospice company on speaker phone at this point and they stated that was untrue. Hospice offered they could send someone out if needed but he said he would not wait around and that he only had 25 minutes to do this. Side note, he was scheduled to come at 5PM, he arrived before his schedule at 4:50PM (arriving early wasn't an issue until he put a time limit on his service. Other reviews said they were working on their transfers for hours so I don't believe he only has 25 minutes to get patients in the vehicle and to their destination.) 5. After finally getting my dad on the stretcher he did not properly secure his arms. One of my dad's arms went a little past the width of the stretcher and the guy kept trying to force the stretcher through the doorway when I finally realized my dad's arm was being squeezed between the stretcher and the door frame. My dad at this point was unconscious and ended up passing away just a few days after this happened. These were my very last moments with my dad and this guy/company treated us so horribly. Hospice apologized profusely to us for the transport companies treatment but the transport company and that transport guy never apologized.

When we arrived house, the driver was able to transfer over safely. I would say overall the experience was great! All around from staff who helped me place the order to the driver.
