Nothing has changed. Workers are still very rude. Everyone charges a different price for a 1/2 pickup short bed full of trash. When you ask questions about prices they get irritated and give you very short and dismissive answers. If I talked to customers they way some of these workers do, I'd been fired a long time ago. read more

We recently had a bunch of furniture deliveries to our house that came in huge cardboard boxes. We knew it would take weeks for us to dispose of the cardboard in our normal weekly trash collection, so I looked online to see if the Lincoln dump would take it. We had been to the dump (Western Placer Waste Management Authority) a few months earlier to dispose of old paint cans that the previous homeowners had left in the garage. I remember going to the dump and finding it very confusing. So I'll jot down how I think the process goes, based on our two visits: If you're disposing paints, turn right. It's free to dispose of the paints if you live in Placer County. If you're trying to get cash for recyclables (plastic bottles, aluminum cans, glass bottles) or you have a truck load of stuff you want to dump, turn left. You'll see a line of cars waiting for their turn to talk to the attendant. The attendant will ask what brings you in. We said we had a bunch of cardboard boxes, as well as buyback items (cans, etc). He then gave us a paper that said "Buyback" on it and told us to drive further down. The next attendant took our paper and then told us to park at a certain number. Behind/below that number was a dumpster where you would unload your items, which in our case was a bunch of cardboard. Boy, that felt so nice to get rid of the cardboard from our house (for free!) and also know it would be going somewhere to probably get recycled again. (We did confirm they do not take styrofoam). As we were finishing up, we noticed a truck pulling in next to us and a mother and son dumpling a trunk load of items like an old bicycle as well as other trash. I was curious so I asked them how much they were charged for their load. The woman told me it was $44. I thought the process was very interesting. People want to get rid of old household items so they'll bring it to the dump. The attendants will I guess eyeball the load (or possibly weigh it?) and give you a price to unload the items. There might be a different structure and area if you're unloading, say, a ton of lawn cuttings, tree branches, etc like our gardener did for our yard work project. Maybe that's like a compost section that we didn't get to see on our visits. Definitely glad we have this place nearby. Now we know where to go if we want to get rid of paint, cardboard or just junk! Prices seem very reasonable. read more

We've been utilizing West Placer Waste Management Authority since moving to the county back in 2005. Watched the landfills grow and multiply through the years. For general residential waste, just follow the signs that'll lead you to a couple of booths where an attendant, after asking what your load is and city of residence, would direct you where to go next. They will provide you with a ticket for specific waste materials. There was no dumping fee for the flat screen TV, electric fan, elliptical and batteries that we had. NEVER omit what you're dumping like I did with the batteries as I had to go to the booths again to get a different ticket. NO TICKET NO DUMPING. It's a nice service for residents of the West Placer area. Customer relations, however, is a point that hasn't been corrected over the years. read more

Placer waste disposal has everything I needed to dispose my items. Had old phones (e-waste) and paint (hazardous material). The attendant was very helpful and friendly. Pointed me in the right direction and took his time. I was charged a cent for my drop offs (though I pay through other means I suppose). I definitely know where I need to go next time I have bigger items. The area was surprisingly clean for a dump. Overall it was a good experience and straight forward process. read more

Avoid the Fiddyment/Athens location of the dump! Went there today with a pick up truck of green waste and waited an hour and 20 minutes to dump it. The lady directing traffic just kept saying "no ingles" when we asked her what was happening, and an employee we asked on the way out just told us to keep moving along. Rude and frustrating, to say the least. Our tax dollars at work. read more

I had a lot of cardboard (30 boxes) from a move, I called around and went to three cardboard recycle places and they were all full. An attendant at the can recycling place I went that morning suggested Western Placer Waste facility to recycle the cardboard. It is far from my home in Loomis but I drove out there with my boxes all flattered and tied down. The attendant was short with me. He charged me 15 dollars and I asked "isn't the cardboard recyclable and free?" He cut me off and told me to back up and dump them and they would sort it. I said they were all moving boxes and broken down. The cardboard places are all full. He said $15.00 or turn around! I had never been to dump and didn't know where to go or what to do and he was very impatient and did not explain any of it. Terrible customer service and I felt "ripped off". I had my grandson with me as he helps me recycle and it was not a good example for him either. Very disappointing read more

I made a request for a trashed container to be replaced and in less than 24 hours I had a new one in my driveway! Everyone was helpful and EZ to deal with and I have to say it was Perfection in Business Service!!! Perfect 10!! Thanks and anyone who complains must be wrong and/or having a bad day. All my dealings with them for so many things have been outstanding service, great workers/staff and quite frankly shocking on how good they service their clients especially as a Public Utility! It is a dump, what am I supposed to say? Lol It is cleaner and a lot less stinky than others I have visited. A bit pricey, but shorter lines than in Sac county. That is only worth one star though because I would rather pay more and get tf out ASAP. Bottom Line: It's a dump. It serves its purpose. First off, you must be a Placer county resident to this disposal site. Located about one mile past Thunder Valley casino, on your left. They separate and recycle just about every available items (i.e. Yard waste, electronics, hazardous materials, aluminum cans, etc. to name a few. You'll pay a fee based on your waste and cubic feet. Then you'll receive a receipt and directed where to go for disposal. Open 7 days a week too!!! read more

Easy to dispose of trash, drop off haz mat, or do recycling. Don't live in the area, but made several trips when getting parents house ready to sell after they passed. Wish our waste disposal was as easy and had rates this good. read more

I always felt like wasn't receiving all my money due to crooked weighing machines and rules some places have like removing the bottle caps off the containers. I have always loved coming here. You do have to sort your own material and I think that is a good think, They oversee the process to ensure there isn't any items that aren't supposed to go in. Like dirty aluminum cans (where you stuff aluminum into aluminum cans) , glass bottles in plastics, etc. When I first went there I didn't know all the rules and what I could drop off. I now have a plastic bin that I use for my plastics and another for the aluminum cans so it makes is easier to move through the line. Weekends can be hard as there as a lot of people, but overall they manage the people by the time they enter the facility. I really dislike going to other places because of the smell or the overall appearance of the location. read more

Came here to drop off residential paint buckets. I had no idea you aren't supposed to throw this stuff away at home - so I'm glad this was available to me. This is at the Roseville Landfill - and there are quite a few things they will take from residents free of charge - so HUGE plus. I came here on a weekday during the day - and it took about 10 minutes to get everything dropped off. I had to fill out a form, which I assume is my receipt and for tracking purposes - and was out of there! It does smell - but what do you expect, it's the landfill - but service was great! read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ATTEMPTING TO USE THIS FACILITY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES UNLESS YOU FIT INTO THE FOLLOWING TWO CATEGORIES: 1) You have a commercial account and a dump truck or dump trailer. 2) You have a small load of lightweight items that can be hand-carried from your vehicle and lifted over a 4-foot high railing and hand-placed into their dumpsters. There is no other way that these people will let you discharge your debris. Before I went there, I called ahead and was assured by Heather at (916) 543-3986 that I would be able to unload a normal commercial pickup truck directly off the back tailgate. When I arrived at the gate I was charged 90.00 based on a visual observation of the load based on volume. I was directed by the facility personnel to back the truck against a curb and hand-carry the (200-lb cans of loose bulk) construction debris from the truck to the railing (6' or so) where these 200- lb cans and bags were expected to be hand-lifted over the railings. This arrangement is difficult, dangerous and basically impossible for most loads. The facility employees stated that there was no alternative arrangement where I could directly offload the debris off the truck so they directed me to another gate at the facility for "commercial" clients. Since I am a licensed contractor and business owner with a commercially registered truck, I thought that that gate would have a solution. At the "commercial" gate, that informed me that they could not let me dump unless I had a dumping tilt-bed truck or a dump trailer. I was basically forced to leave the facility without being able to obtain the service for which I paid 90.00. They claimed that a refund would be processed to my debit card. Since the employee (Heather) basically lied to me over the phone, this facility committed fraud. I then found a facility nearby on Roseville Road (operated by Sacramento County) where I took the same load a few minutes later. The nice people at that facility charged a price of 25.00 for THE SAME LOAD. And, like a normal dumping facility, I was able to then simply and safely push/pull/drag the heavy debris directly off the back of my truck onto the ground. Like we have been doing for decades at any normal facility found in California. Note the price difference: 25.00 for a facility which allows you to safely remove your load from your truck VS 90.00 for a sketchy dishonest facility which requires you to hand carry and lift your debris over a railing. (Unless you have a commercial account and a dump vehicle). I have the two receipts showing the two wildly disparate charges for THE SAME LOAD. Same date, time stamps minutes apart. I am lodging complaints with the Department of Consumer Affairs and the State Attorney General alleging fraud and price gouging on the part of the placer County facility. There's no logical reason that pricing should vary to such a degree for the same basic essential service offered by facilities in the same region. And there is no logical reason that this Placer County facility should prevent the public from offloading their trucks in a safe, efficient and ergonomic manner. Save yourself the trouble and don't believe their lying personnel. Avoid this facility unless you either have an account and a dump truck; or if you have a tiny load of lightweight items that you are willing to hand-carry. read more

I just got back from dropping off recycles and this white employee just talked to me like we were back in the 50s. All because he wanted me to sit in my car and wait for people to finish sorting their stuff by the weighing stations when I was told once before that you weren't suppose to do that there. I will never go back there again. I moved here from Memphis to get away from that crap. I am not going through that kind of customer service for $20.00. I can go somewhere else. I suggest that you all go somewhere else if they can't weigh cans and bottles without judging their customers by the color of their skin. read more
