There are so many great things here! Adorable statues and fountains. Cute whirligigs and birdbaths. Bird feeders and rain chains.... Everything is great quality. The list goes on... and I didn't get into the plant selection. The staff were very helpful without being pushy. As this is a nursery and not a big box store, the prices are a bit higher, but the box stores have very generic items. I came here to get something special and unique as a remembrance for my mother. I bought a red dogwood tree in July2024. The tree was dropping leaves and the woman made mention of it. She believed the tree was stressed from coming from Oregon. From the time of purchase to putting it in the ground the tree didn't make it through the month of August. It kept getting worse until finally all the leaves were gone. I called this place of business in September regarding their product and they offered no replacement. I had to call them a couple of times because they never called me back and blamed me for the tree not making it. This was not a ten dollar plant but a $300 tree whereas I wouldn't try to neglect something so expensive and a gift. Be careful of big purchases because they don't give a crap about making things right or acknowledging mountain folk hospitality or integrity. read more

I recently stopped by this nursery because I've heard great things from friends and family who have visited! My sister bought a Chinese pistache tree in the summer that turned a beautiful red this fall. When I found myself visiting family nearby, I knew I had to check it out. When I arrived, I was greeted immediately by the owner who was super warm and friendly. She showed me all the different plants and I was really impressed by her knowledge. Even though, I have no green thumb, I still picked out a poinsettia to take home. An employee explained how to care for it and it still looks fabulous. I'll definitely be back in the Spring! This is a fabulous nursery - in the last six months I have purchased: mulch, deer resistant pellets (to keep deer from eating my plants), gifts for Christmas, Christmas ornaments and a Christmas tree. The service is also friendly, helpful, but not obtrusive. I am so glad this business is in Oakhurst. We plan to buy some deer resistant plants in the spring. Also, there is at least one nursery cat, which is always fun. read more

Lovely place with great selection, but never got our free soil. Bought soil and was told there was a sale running for a free bag when you buy 3 bags. Got loaded up and realized we didn't receive our free bags. Went back and was still not given the bags. read more

We were visiting Yosemite this weekend and decided to stop by the local nursery to see if there were any plants we don't usually see in Los Angeles. We were blown away by their selection of plants and decorations. The staff here are super nice and helpful and are very knowledgeable. I found this little treasure by accident. I shouldn't say little- because it has a nice size nursery. The staff is very kind and helpful. They greeted me right away and offered assistance. They have a large variety of items. Even nice things for gifts. I intend to return again. read more

After visiting this nursery several times, I have a very hard time understanding the poorer review given. There must be more to that story than what is written... In my experience, all of the employees at this nursery are cheerful and eager to help. The plants are healthy and offer plenty of variety--especially for an area with distinctly different seasons. They also have a cute gift shop that I can't visit without snagging something. They carry the best candles! My best advice: go check for yourself! read more

I was excited after the change of ownership in Jan 2016. The store and grounds look better. However, I've had three poor experiences with plants purchased/ordered from the new owner. I told the owner I was looking for a fast growing tree; she suggested a ginkgo biloba. The sign on the plant said it is slow growing..she said the sign was incorrect. I took her word for it and purchased it and planted it. My neighbor told me it is slow growing. Sure enough, I looked it up in my Sunset Western Garden book and it is slow growing. Owner doesn't know her stock. Next was just a week ago I bought a cut Christmas tree. Was told it just came in. I paid $39 and it started losing bowls full of needles as soon as I put it up (yes I put water in the holder). It won't last until Christmas. Three weeks ago I ordered 6 Toyon shrubs. Told them I needed them soon as it would be too late to plant them if I didn't get them. Never heard another word from them and it's too late now to plant them. I'll have to go all the way to Fresno to get plants which is too bad because many plants that grow up here aren't sold there. Update: This nursery read my review, called me and offered to give me a refund for the Christmas tree or get a new one. I already had the first one decorated, so I took the refund. Update: 5/4/2017 I again ordered Toyon plants (6) approximately 3/2017. Took a long time, which is odd because they're native plants. I finally received a call from the owner on 5/2 that they had arrived. I went there 5/3/17 and low and behold they hadn't actually come in. This business does not know what it's doing. I'll never shop there again. A better nursery, Creekside Nursery in Mariposa, is much more customer oriented. read more

We were in the area to visit Yosemite, but had some time to walk around and geocache (there's one close by to this business!). The yard art drew us in and the gift shop kept us shopping for quite some time. There are tons of unique and beautiful items here! Plant variety was impressive for this time of year, and the owners were friendly and helpful. If we lived in the area I would definitely buy my plants and gifts here. read more

I bought a $90 coastal sequoia tree (redwood) from the nursery a couple of months ago. The person I bought the tree from mentioned that the top of the tree looked damaged. It did look damaged. However, he said it would be OK. When I planted the tree the next day, the top portion of it did indeed look sick. It was actually dead. I called the owner Diana and she said she would take care of it. The entire top half of the tree had to be removed about a week later since it died. When I mentioned this to Diana, she said that this tree had been in a shipment that the trucking company had forced into the truck since they were so tall. The top portion was bent over by the trucks roof and later caused the whole top half to die! Diana mentioned on the phone that she would replace it with a smaller redwood, because she did not have any of the larger ones in stock. The smaller ones were priced at less than half the larger ones so this made no sense. She did not tell me on the phone to bring in the tree. I then went to see Diana at the nursery about a week ago. She asked for the old tree back. I told her it was not dead, and just that the top half had to be removed. She said I must bring it back. I told her I did not wish to pull it out since it was not dead only damaged and would hopefully eventually grow up normally. She insisted that I bring in the old tree so she could send it back to the supplier and get a refund. i repeated that I did NOT want to pull a living tree out and kill it. I have been an excellent customer for two years and have bought numerous trees and other items. She flatly refused to help me in any way if I did not bring in the damaged tree even though she was aware of the damage caused by the truck. The nursery should NOT have sold this damaged tree to me in the first place since they new it was damaged. She was very rude and speaking in a loud demeaning voice to me. She said if I did not return the old tree, she would do nothing. This is UNSATISFACTORY!!! She should have apologized which she did not and done something for me such as given me another tree. I even would have accepted a smaller tree. I just did not wish to kill the original tree by bring it back. This is an example of very BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! I would NOT recommend anyone to shop here. True Value Hardware has an excellent nursery in Oakhurst which I recommend. They take care of their customers. Stay away from this nursery and this owner!!! read more

Very disappointed. We've spent $1,000's of dollars over the years at this nursery and the one time I bring in pictures to show a plant that died, she will not replace it. It is lavender. A very EASY plant to take care of. Doesn't need much watering, is in the sun most of the time...clearly all our other plants were doing great. We spent $150.00 last trip we took to her store and will never go in again. Over the years my husband and his family have spent $1000,00's as I said. I understand being careful not to guarantee plants etc., but it was obvious that a very easy plant I showed her that thrives in our yard (even through the rains of March) she wouldn't replace based on a "standard" she has. "Well, if I do it for you I have to do it for everyone." Tell you what, how about you replace my $25.00 plant AND then tell me you won't be able to do it again. I've never been to a nursery, as I have a home in another state, that does not honor what they sell. NEVER again will I buy from you. In a small town, you really ought to be more accommodating. read more

I like the nursery... They seem to have a good selection for the area. I haven't been super impressed with their knowledge of different plants, however. They will occasionally look them up (which I can also do) if they aren't familiar with what you ask for. I've also never been offered for them to get special order plants that they don't regularly carry, which I used to get all the time at the nursery I frequented in southern ca. It's nice because it's local and locally owned. I haven't had a problem with pests or disease from anything I've gotten here. read more

My husband and I had been hearing about this unique boutique and nursery. We are so glad we used the afternoon to escape for a quick drive. The owners spent quite a bit of time helping me find just the right plants for my pots at my front door and an amazing fertilizer to make sure the blooms were abundant. I truly enjoyed the boutique too...so many fun gifts! We will definitely be returning! read more

I wanted to support my local businesses and so a week ago I purchased a hanging basket of petunias and several other flowers for $30. I asked very specific questions about watering and sun exposure and yet in just a few days it was looking leggy and not OK! The receipt says you have a week to return and so I made a trip back. The owner told me she refused to take it back. She was rude and not helpful. Hey, no wonder people buy at Lowes and Walmart because they stand by their products. Lowes gives you a YEAR guarantee! Her attitude was the worst part of this! I won't buy from her again! All I wanted was some help on how to keep it alive. read more
