I'm not sure if I've ever been to this mall before, but today it is absolutely packed with people everywhere--in the corridors, inside the restaurants, and in the shops. I don't know if it's because of the Soccer World Cup 2026, the fact that it's Saturday afternoon, or the sweltering heat, but it is incredibly crowded. I came straight here after work to check it out because I have movie tickets for the cinema located inside. I arrived a bit too early, so I'm going to walk around and explore the place, and I'll let you know what I think later. The air conditioning is holding up well against the massive crowd. I'll share my thoughts on the other places I visit later on. I can see a variety of spots here, though--places like "Carlitos BBQ taqueria", as well as coffee shops, pretzel stands, dessert spots, a Macy's, ramen restaurants, and more. read more

Shame on Westfield Garden State Plaza and Sue Newsom for having employees' cars towed today, 7-7-26. Employees' cars that have been parking in the same spot for years were arbitrarily towed today without notice to a tow yard in Englewood. The cost to retrieve the car was $364.00; a good chunk, or whole, of many employees' part-time or full-time weekly salary. These are hard working employees who barely get paid enough to cover living expenses that are now forced to use their paycheck to get their cars back. These employees are here to serve the customers of the mall. There wouldn't be revenue coming into the mall if it were't for the workers who service them! How dare they do this to these dedicated, hard-working people. Shame shame shame! read more

It's honestly frustrating to see how employees are treated at Garden State Plaza on holidays like the Fourth of July. The mall was completely empty, barely any customers, and yet employees were still required to stay their full shifts with nothing to do but stand around. There should be more consideration for workers' time, especially on a major holiday when business is clearly dead. Letting employees leave early in situations like that would show basic respect and appreciation. Instead, it just feels like people are being kept there for no real reason. Not a great look when it comes to valuing employees. read more

GSP is stepping up its game now to compete with American Dream Mall. Recently they have brought in many new stores and restaurants. Some of the popular new stores are Kura Sushi, Aritzia, children's activities like Planet Playskool and Go Playland. On Sundays they organize events in food court now. Most of them geared towards families and kids. They give out free AMC tickets for spending $25+. We were in for Spiderman's meet and greet and party balloons give away. There was also Mario's meet and greet, free face painting on other Sundays. I find the mall much more cleaner these days, common areas have been decorated more than before, and plenty of sittings spots put together throughout the mall. They implemented the guardian policy for Fri-Sat evening hours to boost shoppers confidence. Lots of security personnel walk around ensuring the safety. read more

Came in the mall for children playground/indoor activities. Since it's Bergen county, all shops are closed for Sundays. Interesting to see the mall this empty. I do see cleaning crew going around. Thanks for them to keep place clean and tidy. Sundays the mall still offers food, restaurants, theater, kids activities. Sadly the massage place is closed. I will say limited things to do in this mall. Not as many selections like beauty stores, fashion stores, accessories or entertainments as weekdays/Saturdays. A good selection of stores here. My favorite are Apple, Lululemon, Aerie. A lot of dining options: Chikfila, Seasons 52, Grand Lux Cafe (reminds me of Cheesecake Factory) and Eddie V (have not tried it here but I have dined at another Eddie V in Florida). Always a good place to get your steps in. The Neiman Marcus is awesome with a Chanel. read more

This mall is disappointing now. It used to be a lovely mall for young kids and families to shop and mosey. But it's become so upscale that it just doesn't fit the community anymore. It's a huge mall to sustain the pricey upscale shops. It is so empty so much. Never a crowd because it isn't the place to just "go shopping." This isn't the area where a mall where everything is so expensive is going to be popular with young and old alike. I really don't see this surviving much longer with this theme. read more

This is a great mall, there are tons of stores ranging from budget friendly to high end luxury!!! So there is a great range of selection for everyone. There are a a lot of restaurants and there is a food hall on the lower level. There is a movie theater and several other attractions in this mall. An iconic mall in North Jersey. I've been going here for almost half of my life. GSP has undergone so many changes throughout the years, but I'd say it's still one of the best malls in NJ. It's in the center of everything and close to major highways like the parkway, route 4, route 17, etc. It's 2 levels and fairly easy to navigate. Parking: Parking has improved so much compared to 10 years ago. There's garages, valet, and lots surrounding the entire property. Shopping: Good mix of high-end luxury brands and popular retail chains. There are stores for clothing, accessories, shoes, electronics, makeup, body care, etc. Whether you're on a budget or ready to splurge $$$, you'll be able to find something. Dining: The food court and restaurants offer diverse cuisines. You have fast food, casual eateries, and fine dining options. Drawbacks? One of the biggest drawbacks is that it can get packed during the weekend and holidays. There tends to be a lottttt of noisy teenagers (mall rats, we were all there once lol). I try to avoid coming during those times. The bathrooms could use a lot of TLC. It reeks of urine. So badly. I can't even breathe properly... yikes. Some of the kiosk employees are super aggressive when trying to sell their products or services... so if you're not interested, just politely say "no thank you" and move on. read more

Great mall. Always clean and has tons of options of stores - many more expensive luxury brands like Louis Vuitton to affordable finds at department stores like Macy's and Nordstrom. In addition to great shopping there are incredible food finds from fancier options like Eddie V's and Fogo de Chao to Chipotle and many dessert options from Haagen Dass to the luxury- feel Gelato experience at Venchi. Mall closed at 10 pm AND is open on Sundays while many other stores and malls in Bergen County close. read more

This is a nice mall and owned by Westfield. It is very big with lots of stores that you have to rely on the directory to know where you are and where the store is. Luckily there are directories populated throughout the mall. The food court has a lot of options with Chick fil A, Chipotle, Five Guys, Fogo de Chao, Jerk Shack Grill, Shake Shack, and many more! This mall is very long and clean with lots of marble everywhere and nice pieces of artwork throughout the mall to make it extra elegant and nice to walk in. I thought the bathroom was very nice and elegant. It has a different changing table compared to most malls, there are two black leather mats across from each other with a disposable diaper trash can in the middle. It is not your ordinary flip open baby changing diaper station that you see in many public bathrooms. Many parking spots around the mall so you know you're not constantly harassing for an empty parking spot. Good thing about this mall is that it has an AMC movie theater! I love it when malls include a movie theater. What good way to enjoy a movie after shopping. read more

This mall has one of the most diverse selections of stores, making it easy to find gifts for anyone--or to treat yourself! To be fair, I am not an avid mall goer/shopper. Having said that, while the parking is plentiful at GS Plaza, it is just as exhausting to actually find an empty parking space. So, keep that in mind prior to your journey. I tend to park near Grand Lux and the movie theater for easy access to dine-in either before or after perusing the mall. Depending on the day and time, of course, this place can quickly become overcrowded and chaotic. If you're not fond of large crowds at every turn, save your time, energy, and gas. Oddly enough, what I like most about this mall is their food court and adjoining restaurants. Plenty of delicious options with ample seating! Once upon a time, I used to be a faithful patron at a nail salon on the second floor, too. read more

I like this mall. Nice size with many stores. I like it since it has an Apple store, Nespresso Boutique, and Tesla. It's a good mall to do some walking. It's in a busy part of NJ, the traffic around the area is crazy. I used to go when it was just GSP, but now, it has Westfield's name everywhere. I would come back to spend more time in this mall next time. I just went to see Nespresso Boutique, since there is none around my area. I stopped by Tesla while I was walking around to ask some questions. I walked by the Apple store; it seemed to be larger than some other locations. Overall, this mall is very clean, and it looks busy, which is a good thing. Not like some other malls where half of the stores are empty. read more

With so much history dating back to 1957, a visit sure came by. This mall is huge providing a lot of variety in store names and brands you won't see. It's awesome to see this, and with so much mall space, you can't beat that. Finding items in other malls, considering NY state, may not have it. Also, the food court has a lot to choose from, along with restaurants. The architecture of the mall is very eye candy in terms of the modern look and is very clean which I've observed. Putting the time into it sure paid off, and keeping it up should still be the priority. Just look around, and soak in what's there. This a great mall to walk around to kill time, as the layout is built differently, as the main hallway does a loop, instead, doesn't have a dead end with the exception of connector hallways. The parking lot is huge and will be extremely busy on Saturday's especially, so do take caution when arriving and leaving. Having better signage would be a great improvement, as I turned the wrong way on some occasions. **With Blue Law in effect which has been for many years, the mall is closed on Sundays, except for the AMC movie theater and some restaurants.** Rating: Parking lot - 2 Mall - 4.7 = 3.35 read more

Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus is a fantastic mall! I've been a dedicated shopper for more than 20 years to this location. The mall is always kept clean and it's quite spacious. It's consistently expanding and adding new stores to shop in. There's even new experiences such as a game room and a STEM store. You're bound to find a store that fits your interests. Over two hour wait in line to retrieve photo in Garden state plaza in Paramus NJ. I don't know when people who just took a photo at 8pm is going to get their pictures when the mall closes but this is worst bait and switch I've ever took part of. Everyone was in disbelief after seeing the line assuming reservation will allow for better experience. Alot of people just left because it was too much. Thanks for single handedly killing our family's photo with Santa experience. Westfield, you need to reassess your vendors because this degrades your brand. read more

Out of all the malls in the area I prefer this one. It's clean and literally huge. You have 5 star restaurants for dining and a AMC theater which is gigantic. You have great Top Labels like Burberry and Gucci. Food court that has Chipotle, Chick-fil-A and Poke. Service is top tier staff is friendly and courteous. I enjoy the variety in stores and the fact I can eat and shop than a movie for a great value. read more

Love this mall! Parking is free and it's located next to an AMC, has restaurants and food options up the kazooo!! They have all types of stores you want to shop in from the small boutiques to nice luxury. Fancy mall! I don't come here too often except for times when I'm window shopping/browsing or meeting up at one of the restaurants there. You'll find some higher-end stores, along with mid-range price point stores. Garden State Plaza is also much larger than the other malls in Paramus with its square footage. You'll be walking a lot more inside of Garden State Plaza to cover everything than inside of Bergen Town Center. Heads up, it can get crowded here. So expect to walk a long distance from your car to one of the mall entrances. While the parking is free, it'll be a battle to get a close parking spot at Garden State Plaza. read more

Good size mall with a large variety of stores. Definitely more variety compared to Willow Brook mall. 2 floors and easy to navigate as each floor is pretty much a circle. Large food court. Ample amount of seating throughout to wait for your friends and family. Playground for your kids to play (with supervision) while you shop. They have a rewards program, but it's only really helpful if you spend 1k or more at this mall throughout the year. The parking is a little bit of a pain and this does seem to be a "hangout" spot for some so the mall can get crowded for people actually trying to shop. read more

I love going to malls, especially this one. So many stores and places to shop and a huge variety as well. They have designers, local, and well-known retail stores such as Forever 21, and H&M, and multiple dining options as well. They have an AMC movie theater. One of the best malls in NJ although parking can be a hassle to find the last time I went my father got into an argument with someone who tried to take our parking spot and wanted to call the cops thankfully an officer assisted and the man drove off. If you are planning on visiting for your first time be aware that because there is a huge variety of stores and restaurants it can be a bit overwhelming if you don't know where a store is there are multiple maps around the mall as well as security to help you in case you require guidance. This has been my go to mall for years, a lot has changed in business. Stores have come and gone, always make sure to double check the directory before visiting. Now the following. Tory Burch- I felt rushed and the store was completely empty. I went in to exchange a pair of sandals, one interaction with the sales person and she wanted to dismiss me. No problem, I made my return. Gucci- Jonathan was great. All staff are welcoming with big smiles. New You Massage- do it get the chair massage while you at it. Idk if it's just me but my Asians are aggressive with the bones. If people don't bother you, Saturdays are your best days. If you prefer less people traffic come on a weekday. If I could give zero stars, I would! On October 4, 2024, my daughter and I entered Rumi, where there were two workers--a young woman with braids and glasses and another with black hair. As soon as we walked in, one of them ran to the back, and the other hovered over us the entire time, despite there being over eight other customers in the store. While I'm reluctant to mention race, the treatment was so blatantly discriminatory, I can't ignore it. I will no longer support stores that are willing to take the Black dollar but treat Black customers as if they're thieves. This is unacceptable, and I refuse to tolerate it.
