We had a great family vacation at Westgate Lakes Resort. The location is hard to beat, with easy access to Disney Springs, Universal, and plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. Our villa was spacious, and having a full kitchen made the stay much more convenient. The resort offers a lot of amenities, and we enjoyed spending time by the pools. While the property is starting to show its age in some areas and could use some updates, everything was comfortable overall. We did notice a few minor cleanliness and maintenance issues, but nothing that took away from our trip. Overall, we had a positive experience and would consider staying here again. If you're looking for a good value in a great location, this resort is worth considering. read more

As a business owner myself, I don't like leaving bad reviews at all. However, I do think I would be doing an injustice to families who are considering coming here and spending their hard-earned money on a vacation they've been waiting all year for. Sometimes a family only gets one vacation every couple of years because times are tough, so I want to make sure I share my experience. I'll start with the positives. The check-in process was smooth, and the attendant was nice. The bellmen were also friendly and brought our bags to the room and shuttled us to our building. They also have a nice gym, which I used every day. Now onto the negatives. When we first checked in, we told the front desk that it was just me and my wife and asked if we could be placed in a quieter area. The first room we were given was actually very nice. It had wooden furniture, was clean, and felt spacious. However, it had a connecting door, and before we could even unpack, there was a child in the next room screaming extremely loudly. It was so loud that it sounded like he was in our room. I knew immediately that this would be an issue, so since we hadn't touched anything yet, I called the front desk and asked to be relocated. They did accommodate us, which is another positive, but the next room was not as nice. You could tell from the layout that it used to be one room that was split into two. It was smaller, the furniture was lower quality, and the AC vent was extremely loud (more on that later). This was room 2233B. There was also coffee in the room but no coffee maker, and oddly enough, there was an empty coffee box outside the room. About three days into our stay, we got new neighbors who were smoking marijuana at night. To try and hide it, they were spraying a very strong citrus-scented chemical. That smell made its way through the vent system into our room. It was so potent that we could barely breathe, and at first we had no idea what was going on. We called the front desk the next day after losing a night of sleep. They told us to call again if it happened, which we did the following night. Security came and acknowledged the smell, but since it wasn't technically smoke, the only solution offered was to move us again. We didn't want to move, but we had no choice since we needed rest before traveling the next day. This leads me to the type of clientele this resort tends to attract, likely due to the discounted rates compared to other resorts in the area. There were a lot of guests who were loud, used profanity freely, and showed little regard for others. Marijuana use seemed common throughout the property. While there were certainly normal, respectful guests as well, the disruptive behavior was frequent enough to noticeably impact the experience. Now let's talk about the Wi-Fi. There basically isn't any. I contacted the front desk about poor reception, and they gave me a tech support number. I ended up opening three service tickets with their provider. Twice, I was told a service manager would call me back, and that never happened. If you need reliable Wi-Fi, you should strongly reconsider booking here. That alone would be enough for me to give this place a one-star rating. The washing machine on our floor also didn't work properly. At the end of the cycle, our clothes were still soaking wet. We had to wring them out by hand and then run the dryer for about three hours. In addition to the constant marijuana smell, there was also a foul, sewer-like odor in certain areas of the property. I later saw that other guests mentioned this in their reviews as well. The fuse for our refrigerator outlet also blew, which caused us to lose our leftovers. To their credit, maintenance was responsive and sent an electrician the next day, who determined it was a blown GFCI. There is an adults-only pool, which was a bit of a walk from our room. We didn't mind the walk, although there is a shuttle that runs about every 20 minutes. However, there is no enforcement of the "adults-only" policy. We saw children in that pool as well. There are also no lifeguards on the property, so keep that in mind if you have kids. They have a café called Sid's Bistro, but it is severely understaffed. If you want coffee, expect to wait at least an hour. I thought it might have just been busy on the first day, but it was like that every single day. I felt bad for the few employees working because they were clearly overwhelmed. The demand is there, but many people end up leaving the line because of the wait. It would honestly be faster to make coffee in your room (if you have a coffee maker, which we didn't) or take an Uber to a nearby coffee shop. Also, after 12 PM, you can't even order a bagel because they consider that breakfast only. Next to Sid's is the main lobby, which is constantly filled with salespeople trying to sell timeshares. We stayed at the Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa over the weekend and had a really nice stay. Our king suite had a pull-out couch, a kitchenette, a jet tub, and a huge balcony, which gave us plenty of space to relax. It was also within walking distance to the pool and tennis courts, which was really convenient. One thing we liked is that each building has its own pool, so it never felt too crowded. There's also a water park on site for an additional fee if you want something extra to do. The property has a lot of amenities including a gift shop/grocery store, a pizza place, an ice cream shop, and a restaurant. We also enjoyed the outdoor seating areas with fire pits in the evenings. The beds were comfortable, the staff was helpful, and the location is super convenient for getting around Orlando. We're in Orlando pretty often and this was actually my first time staying here . Ok I don't even know where to start I don't have a particularly high standard when it comes to hotels but this was a questionable stay. While the pools were warm and inviting the beds were far from that. After a long day I come to my hotel exhausted and ready to I lay down my head on the pillow then to my suprise I see a small bug crawling on my pillow. I get a small one sometimes that happens but a millipede that's disgusting and on a pillow that I'm using for my head! You can imagine my horror when I hear an "OH MY GOSH" then my sister jump out of bed. While bugs aren't the only issue I did notice that when we got the room there was a giant wet spot right next to my bed which then left a horrible wet rag smell in my bedroom for the whole stay. Wanted a quick getaway for memorial weekend and stayed at a Westgate timeshare (sister location to my home timeshare). First time at this location. I really loved the amenities including the game room, ice cream shop, onsite store, and the new water park. The water park was so much fun! We enjoyed a drink in their tiki bar, food at their pool restaurant, and loved that they had a lazy river and 2 water slides. That was so much fun and the highlight of our stay. The set-up of 2 bedroom, a kitchen, den, dining table, and lanai was nice. What I did not like was the room. I did not like the master bathroom shower. It was a glass shower open to the bedroom. Totally odd configuration. The bedroom windows had old school window coverings and light shined through the windows. The place also felt like a mix of old and cover-up modernizations. Id not be happy if that was how far my timeshare maintenance fees stretched. It was also not that clean. Overall, Westgate was just ok. We did enjoy our time outside the room. read more

This is a huge property full of extras! We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo on the lake. Full kitchen king bed in master doubles in second bedroom stub shower combo in master bath! Full bath for second bedroom too.. every night we saw fireworks from the theme parks from our screened porch! The pools were great with fob tub and bars, put put,kayaks and pedal boats, there's restaurants and gift shops.. we enjoyed our stay.. only issue was parking was a little hard to get after 5 but other than that it's a great place close to all things Disney and great place to relax after!! read more

My recent experience with Westgate Resorts left me extremely disappointed. My family stayed from June 13-16, and from the moment we arrived, our room was uncomfortably warm. I initially overlooked it because we had traveled all day and were exhausted. Unfortunately, the air conditioning issue continued for our entire stay. I reported the problem multiple times. Maintenance came once, looked at the thermostat and vent, and left without fixing anything. The following day, I again reported that the room was still hot and even gave permission for maintenance to enter while we were away all day. When I received a text asking if the issue had been resolved, I responded that no one had come before we left. After spending the entire day on excursions, we returned after 9:00 p.m. to find the room still hot. I again contacted Guest Services, sent a photo of the thermostat, and explained that our three-night vacation had been spent sleeping in an uncomfortable room. It wasn't until after 10:20 p.m. on our final night that the Engineering Manager came to the room. By then, my grandchild was in the bathtub, we were preparing to pack for checkout the next morning, and there was less than 12 hours remaining in our stay. At that point, relocating us was not a practical solution. The resort had the entire day to address the problem while we were away, but failed to do so. To make matters worse, we also found roaches in our room. I have pictures of those as well. What has disappointed me even more than the condition of the room has been the lack of follow-through after my stay. I spoke with a manager on multiple occasions. I was promised follow ups that never happened. We eventually agreed on a full refund in the form of a virtual gift card, and I was told I would receive an email to begin the process. After hearing nothing, I texted again and was advised it was missed by the finance team and assured me the refund would be processed by the end of the day of July7th. Once again, nothing happened and they didn't do what they said they were going to do. Everyone I spoke with was polite, but polite words without action do not resolve customer concerns. I have been patient and have given Westgate multiple opportunities to make this right. Instead, I've experienced repeated broken promises, poor communication, and a lack of accountability. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend staying here. I hope Westgate will improve both its maintenance response and its commitment to following through on resolutions promised to its guests. I have retained text message screenshots, photographs of the thermostat and roaches, and documentation of my communications with management. read more

Checking in took some time, but that's to be expected during peak summer season when the resort is packed with vacationers. Despite the wait, the staff remained extremely patient and professional even after obviously working long shifts. The resort itself was very clean. While it could use some updating, it's well maintained. The pools were in great condition, and every morning we saw staff checking and cleaning the one near our building. The water park, however, was a bit underwhelming considering the cost. The day we went the water was very warm and my boys did not argue when it was time to leave. That said, with the location and our overall experience, I would definitely consider staying at Westgate again the next time we're in town. read more

We had a great experience overall. We spent 5 days (Tuesday-Sunday). About 30 minutes from Orlando's International Airport. Walmart, Dennys, I hop, movie theater and other restaurants and a shopping mall are about 10-15 minute drive. Staff was super welcoming, polite, friendly, and helpful. We arrived around 11:30 pm (Flight got delayed 2 hours). Very clean property, well kept. 4 pools (2 with bars), 1 water park (Lazy River, kids playing zone, wave pool, and slides). The water park is $25 per person a day. If you download the hotel's app, then is like $18. Kids 3 and under are free to enter. Room was spacious, equipped with A/C, full kitchen, laundry machines, and a balcony. You can see a little bit of the Universal Studios fireworks. Best place to see them is by the boat and bike rental kiosk. Only issue we had was the neighbor liked to smoke his marijuana in his balcony, so we could smell it. We paid EXTRA for an UPGRADED ROOM - we walk in, the toilet doesn't work, the tub has a leak, the shower has black mold, the laminate on the vanity is peeled off, tiles are broken, kitchen molding is a hack job. No bedside outlets, the light switches barely work and when they do it flickers on. There's almost no parking, smells like weed, saw MULTIPLE DRUG DEALS HAPPEN ON PROPERTY, there was some guy rapping up and down the halls on every floor of our building. It was like a crack hotel. OK. Where to begin... lets start off with this, despite all the problems we had with our stay at the beginning, the staff was always friendly and was able to accommodate us and changed our room and stay without any hassle and that alone saved this trip from turning into a nightmare. So many thanks to them for that. So 1st, we had this place booked for us through someone local, and we wanted a 1 bedroom villa because it had the full fridge, stove, and microwave to help us save money by making our own food. Apparently, we got a regular studio villa booked instead, which only had a mini fridge and we already had our groceries, but we couldnt even find that out because our keys did not work on the outside door to our room. (There were 2 rooms per entrance (room 503 had both 503A and 503B behind as an example). So we had to drive to the desk to get new keys, those also didnt work, drove back and they called maintenance. Maintenance got us in and after more experimentation found out that literally no key other than their master override could open the outside door and they would have to literally change the entire lock the next day. So, already thats a problem, then only come to find out the room had some cosmetic damage and the shower leaked (see pictures). So the first night was not fun. Now, onto day 2. We decide what we want to do and I ask if we can be moved/upgraded to what we originally wanted and we moved all our stuff across the entire complex to a deluxe villa. Another small negative before I get into the good. We came during the slow season so there was quite a bit of maintenance not only being done around the complex but also areas needing some maintenance (see air vent picture as an example). Now, this can be quite the turn off for some people who want a pristine luxury experience for what they are paying, but since we only were there after our days at the parks to sleep or relax and had no other stresses, some chipped paint or 1 or the 2 elevators being down wasnt that big of a deal to us. Now, onto the positives. As stated before, the staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating, despite the first day disasters, I really cant say anything bad about them personally. Activities. Beyond your typical activities like the sports bar and arcade they have at the resort, there are other free activities to do. Some mini golf, paddle boat rentals, and bike rentals. They even had evening activities like movie nights, karaoke, dancing, and even planned to do some smores making over the fireplaces (that got canceled due to weather though). We didnt do any of those eveing activities sadly, but simply having the texts letting me know they were happening was a nice bonus and I wanted to do them. The proximity to universal studios is amazing and saves so much of a headache. Not only do they have a shuttle service, if you miss them by chance and need an Uber or drive yourself. Its almost a straight shot and only like 7 minutes away. The convenience store inside the resort is quite large as well. And we lucked out and had a local rum distributor there at the store and got some free samples and bought ourselves one of the bottles. I cannot speak for any of the family aspects of the resort, but the Waterpark area for kids seemed fun. Overall, this was not a perfect experience by any means, and I can see why people could give this place a bad score (especially after our first terrible night troubles) but with everything being able to be resolved, we spent the rest of the week enjoying our time there. I would recommend this to friends and family due to how much we saved on this trip, but maybe the headache might be too much for you if youre looking to stay here for your trip. This is officially our new go to spot when we hit Orlando. You can not get bored here! They have mini golf, they have mini bowling, an arcade, paddle boats, bikes, nightly activities, pools, a waterpark etc. The bed and pillows were the best thing we have slept on in so long. We all finally got caught up on much needed rest and even slept in! The rooms are spacious and have lots of storage space so you can unpack. The employees are incredible. Jamal was outstanding and helped us out with several things. If you need anything or any suggestions find Jamal at the front desk! That man needs a raise. The grounds are spotless. Everyone's nice ( other than the grumps at the arcade) The only downside of this place is, do not listen to any of the signs about closing times. They all close whenever they please. It was a jam packed Saturday and they closed well before the posted times. They kicked out a full arcade an hour early. People get back from the parks late so having the employees shut down early when the place is packed isn't great. read more

Me and my hubby have been owners for years and always enjoy our stay. The only annoying part is the call a few days before about wanting us to go to the luncheon or breakfast to get the quote on quote updates lol. Which being owners for so long we know are them trying to up sell us something and then after you get your keys and they try again. No means no so leave me alone! You got my money already!. Other than that the only headache is parking way to many extra family members friends,etc all cram up in a small parking lot.the pools are nice. We have a very big suite that sleeps 12 so one room had a leak from the bathroom above us. I stayed at this resort for my oldest daughter's birthday and upon arrival they made me pay again even though we had already paid through Expedia and showed the receipt. I would have walked away if it weren't my daughter's birthday and she was looking forward to it. I am not unfamiliar with Westgate Resorts and typically love going because of all of the amenities but this stay was frustrating. When we checked in and paid again, we got to the room and there was slick tile outside of our room and my four year old daughter slipped, fell, and hit her head. When she hit her head I thought she was throwing a tantrum and went through the motions to try to get her up and quickly realized she wasn't faking and had hit her head. She started throwing up and was unable to be calmed so I rushed her to the ER where she was diagnosed with a concussion. I informed the resort and asked for a copy of the video to present to management so that they would consider removing this dangerous tile (I'm in construction and it isn't meant for exterior walkway use). Upon informing them they immediately began acting like I was some sort of criminal and were not at all concerned with the well-being of my four year old. From this point on security harassed me with several visits asking me the same questions each time and taking pictures of the hospital report each time along with her shoes, her, and me. It was very invasive and offensive when all I wanted was to ensure that they knew the dangers of this, as I almost slipped as well in my non-slip gym sneakers just walking to and from the room. I was extremely disappointed with the entire visit this time. The room was great and clean though. read more

Very outdated and not the cleanest. We found someone's old eyelashes on the bathroom floor. It smells like mildew. We were being woken up by a beeping smoke detector in the bedroom at 5:30am and having to wait 3 hours for someone to come fix it. Parking was a complete nightmare every night. Also got back one night and our thermostat was locked with the air shut off. We had to have someone come unlock it and it took hours to cool back down after that. I would not stay here again. Management and owners clearly don't care after scrolling through these reviews, either pay the extra little bit for an actual resort or stay in a hotel this a terrible blend of the two that calls itself a resort to trick people into thinking they will be staying somewhere top notch. Make sure you check every single detail, this place seemed perfect online but it's just a massive apartment complex with 7 pools (which aren't maintained by the way) Seen multiple guests having to clean out pools because no one has came by to do them all day or night, have been here for 3 days and they are filled with leaves every time I'm there. You can not order breakfast room service other than a really really bad imitation Starbucks in lobby with cold microwaved frozen sandwiches. There is no bar or restaurant open on property after 10 pm in a lively nightlife city. We called to order pizza at 9:40 after a long day at parks thought we made it just in time to not have to worry about food, I mean we booked a resort after all, sat on hold until 10:05 in which they were conveniently closed. Only vending machines 200+ feet away since lobby store closes at 11, if just getting back from being out. Water park on site but oh yeah that's 25$ unless you sign up for a scam timeshare that they will try and pressure you into upon check in. No parking at night, shuttles never show up to take you to room leaving you walking every bit of a half mile after a full day at Disney. Does any of this sound like a resort to you? I wouldn't stay here again personally and felt the need to hopefully help some other lovebirds looking for a romantic getaway, this place is not for young travelers without family whatsoever. Lengthy (I apologize I'm VERY throughout & detailed) My family of 3 (myself, husband, and 9 year old son) arrived via car from ATL to Orlando for a one last trip before school starts (early August), from Sunday (afternoon) - Thursday (morning). Upon arriving there are security "check ins" to direct you on where to go. Once we parked we walked into the lobby, headed to the right and checked in. The woman who checked us in (I do not remember her name) was quick, informative, and to the point when checking us in. (Which is how I prefer because I would like to get vacationing ASAP)! She asked if we'd prefer a high / low floor and booked us in building 80 (room 8301A). From there she instructed that we can go to the Park Desk area and get your discounted tickets from there. (However!! Please keep in mind that if you are doing the presentation do NOT go to the Parks counter as you will get incentives for parks, water parks, etc.) Once we were checked in, someone came to the front desk and took us to the hospitality counter where we met Rafael Esteves! And if he is not theeee most upbeat, genuine person in that lobby!! He gave us all the tips on how to maximize our stay! And he NAILED IT!! If it weren't for him, we wouldn't have known and utilized all the offers. After Rafael informed us we were able to go up to our room (Building 80, room 8301A). While the buildings inside could use some updating; they were well maintained. The carpets, looked nice but had an older smell to them, the elevators (down the hall and to the right) were well maintained and clean, once we arrived on our floor we walked down the hallway and found our room. The room itself. I, (35 year old woman) have HUGE smell aversions (meaning if something doesn't have a "neutral" smell it tends to throw me off and make me want to throw up. This room specifically had an "moldy" smell to it. And EVERY SINGLE TIME you left the room (whether on to the balcony or out of the room) it had this horrible smell once you re-entered the room. (No I never brought this issue to management but I am sure they would have corrected it). Outside of sleep; we never spent much time in the room anyway. We stayed in the 1BR /1BA and it was clean! I brought my black flashlight to check for bed bugs (including the pull out) and they passed the test. I also brought my Lysol wipes and wipes down everything from the toilet seats, to the sink handles, to the door knobs, down to the shower floor. (My biggest fear is me & my family getting sick or catching something because it was not cleaned well). Once I wiped everything down we went ahead and settled in. We wore our Crocs or socks in the room the entire time, we had no use for the kitchen and dining room table but both seemed to be clean. The first 2 days we just did our mandatory presentation (we did not do much but walk around the property and see what they had to offer as far as amenities). Tuesday, we took our first adventure offsite to Aquatica and it did NOT disappoint!! HIIIIGHLY recommend over Volcano Bay (Disney water park) if you're staying on a resort (check if they offer any discounts on tickets) Westgate Resorts & Spa does!! And if you're a family who spends a lot of money on food. Ask about the food package through WG! We purchased an all day dining pass within Aquatica for an additional $80 Wednesday, we decided to take advantage of the onsite water park WG offers and we were lucky enough to be able to get that at a discount as well ($13 per person) instead of the $25 (as an owners guest) or $20 (as an owner). Megan (Meg) at the large bar is freaking FAAANTASTIC! Suuuper sweet & did her job with ease and class while it got busy. We then went to the game room WG has and let our son enjoy $20 worth of credits. We then had a wonderful steak dinner at Black Angus Steakhouse (around 7PM) it wasn't crowded and our sever Carmen was freaking aaaamazing and so personable. She talked to my 9 year like he was there and had an opinion. Overall, this was an absolutely wonderful trip and although we loved Orlando, being from Atlanta there is so many more major cities near us and we will venture out and explore more of our country. As soon as we checked in, we received an automated text, welcoming us to the property. Great family property ! Walking distance to many eateries but you will most like want to drive due to heat and humidity. Good size weigh lifting room equipped with water and towels. I do wish they had sanitizing products too wipe things off. I just realized that I did not take a picture of the gym. It was a good size with free weights, benches, 4 stair master type machines and other machines. Responsive staff, from front desk to maintenance. This is a family friendly place to stay. I love that there is a small fully equipped kitchen with full fridge, stove and oven, toaster, blender, microwave and washer/dryer. We made easy small meals and plenty of smoothies during our stay. Do make sure you double check. It was our first time staying at this property and I was particularly looking for these amenities. We stayed in a 2 bedroom and even though the Master felt cramp with a King size bed in the room with little space to move around, the bed and pillows actually were so comfortable, I actually slept like a baby that first night. Usually, regardless of accommodation, I don't sleep well the first night on any stay, whether on a ship, a hotel or Air BnB. This location had a mini arcade (including full size Ms Pac Man), huge pool, cabanas for rental, a couple of jacuzzis. Spouse and I travelled with two of our children. We do love to stay at 4 and 5 Star Hotels. For this trip we were happy with our choice. We weren't looking for luxury. We wanted practical and we got it! This location met our goals for this trip. We stayed 3 nights at the Westgate Lakes Resort during my fiancé's birthday weekend. Our first morning there, while sleeping, at 7am someone keyed into our room. The noise woke me up and I gasped as the door was opening. The security door latch (the metal swing guard thing at the top of the door) caught the door from opening fully, and the person opening the door let the door close and walked away, all without saying a word. So... someone tried to enter our room without announcing themselves, knocking, or even apologizing once they realized they had scared me by attempting to intrude. I called the front desk and security to report the incident, and they sent a security guard over to make an incident report. We were told we would hear from management within 72 hours, which did not happen. My fiancé was outraged at this situation, and I spent the rest of our trip terrified that someone had access to our room and would try to enter again. All day I feared someone would break in and steal all our stuff, and at night I struggled to sleep. After well over 72 hours and we weren't contacted by management, my fiancé called and finally got through to management, who blew him off and acted like it wasn't a big deal. They searched the key records and found that a new staff member had tried to enter the room. First they said it was housekeeping (wouldn't they knock and announce themselves first? Or apologize when they realized they tried to enter an occupied room?) and then later they said it was a worker responding to a work order for the room (... housekeeping wouldn't respond to a work order? An engineer or repair person would?). Ultimately they said that it was their system's mistake showing our room as unoccupied. The following day we were completely locked out of our room. We had to wait over 30 minutes for the front desk to send someone with a new key, because they said security was so backed up with incidents that no one else could bring the key, so a nice front desk person did. We had been gone all day and were so exhausted and sweaty, and only had less than an hour to rest and shower before our next activity, and most of that time was spent waiting for a new key. We were in the furthest building from the front office (building 2400) without a car, so it took 15 minutes to walk to the front office from our room. Overall we are really not pleased with the experience, and corporate hasn't gotten back to us yet to make things right. read more

Let me start by saying NO costumer services AT ALL. If you can avoid this place, do it at all costs. I checked in around 12:30and asked if I can order some food in the room and I was told yes. After taking a shuttle for about 1 mile I settled into the room, hoping I can order some food, only need to find out that you can only order after 5 PM. I walked back, because no shuttles were to be found anywhere, and after waiting for 35 minutes for a pizza that was supposed to be done in 15, I started walking back because no shuttles were to be found again. The following morning as I'm trying to extend my reservation and go back to sleep, I'm told I have to go in person to the front desk in order to extend my reservation if it's for one day, so I told him they can extend it for two days so that I can avoid the walk back. After nearly 1 hour of being on the phone at which point I was completely awake. Turns out I have to be at the front desk either way to update the key and make the payment in person. Once I was at the front desk, I expressed my disappointment with the customer service, only to hear they're sorry about that. Clearly no one was interested to hear what happened. But they were sorry. Once I was done with that and wide awake, I decide to get some breakfast so after ordering a croissant sandwich and a white flat, I head outside to sit in the sun. After only two bites of my croissant sandwich, I noticed it was getting tougher and tougher after each bite. Can you guess why? Because the croissant sandwich was microwaved, and now that it was getting cold, it was turning into a piece of rubber. So please don't enjoy your stay while this place. I will start with the service at this vacation resort, which I find impeccable. Yes I said impeccable!! and if you follow me you know I don't give this compliment often. Everyone from the grounds keeper to the security guard greet you with a warm Hello. I had a few hiccups but were resolved quickly and efficiently. The property in itself is clean with fun amenities for the family. The location convenient and close to attractions. I would have given them a higher rating but due to some of the rooms being outdated with broken pullouts and washing machines I felt 3 stars was fair. The renovated villas are beautifully done and for the price it's a great choice for you and the whole family. read more

For us it was a great experience! We paid for a regular one bedroom studio and they wound up upgrading us for free! The room we were upgraded to was huge! It was a two bed, two bath, with a kitchen. Everything was also very clean. The resort feels like its own little city. One downside was the very long line we had to wait in for checking in. That's the only thing I can say was a negative for us, everything else was great! read more

Water park admission is separate. Room is standard and comfortable. Not much activities included for a time share property. Difficult to maneuver around if you have a lot of luggages. This place was so bad it had no WiFi and the way to park in here toke so long that I could play 6 rounds of fortnight and the water park was not free it cost 25$ per person and we went 30 minutes before closing I don't want to give this but 1 star. read more

First night the AC was broken and it was 85 in the room. We were able to move and we were told we could be on a second floor room for our less mobile grandmother. We were given a 6th floor room. Thoughts: -the beds were so tall my grandmother could hardly get in. I had to stand on one side and pull her up. -The large room in the big side was super hot. Don't think the air worked well enough to get in there. When we put the air to 68 we still didn't see it get below 70. During the day it seems to stay at 72 no matter what you turn it to. -There were multiple cockroaches crawling around, including one on our counter. -All of our feet and socks turned black within an hour of being there because the floor was still so dirty. -there was a large hairball of black hair in the jetted tub. Was it even cleaned? -the water faucets in the tub are very dangerous as they are close to the edge so children can reach them very easily. The hot water turns hot super quickly and the faucet gets extremely hot to the touch. I couldn't leave my children for a second due to concerns of them turning the water on. (4 and 6 years.) - we were only given one large frying pan. Why wouldn't we get a set of pans, like a small one for eggs? -lights in large bathroom look like they'd be able to fade on and off but they don't. Either on or off, and they are in the very middle of the room so hard to find in the dark. -pillows are very uncomfortable. Too tall and hard, or lumpy and deflated. Overall, very concerned about cleanliness of our room (cockroaches) and temperature. I'm told that if you see a single cockroach there is likely an infestation. read more

Well, where do I begin? I want to preface this review by saying that there is truly zero exaggeration on my part. I mean it. We traveled to FL and booked this "resort" for our stay. When we got to the hotel to check-in, it was around 2am and there were only two people directly in front of us doing the same and there were three hotel staff members at the desks. We waited close to 30 minutes just for our turn to be called up. If you've ever seen the movie Zootopia and recall the sloths working at the DMV, this was the best way to describe it. I would likely be there until the following week if the line was any longer. The pace was so slow that I'm certain we went back in time. So, we get to our room. After a long day/flight, it would be so nice to take a warm shower. Not here you won't. You have a choice of an ungodly fire shower or Antarctica and no in-between. I wish I was lying. The shower does not adjust the temperature at all and no matter how you try. Please believe me when I say that I have maneuvered that shower handle a hundred different ways. Can we also talk about the lighting in the bathroom? Don't bother turning on the light if you're trying to do your make up. The lighting is so poor that you might as well do your make up with your eyes closed. There is no difference. Moreover, you THOUGHT you'd have some bodywash and shampoo/conditioner waiting for you in the shower. Well, I'm here to tell you that you thought wrong. Body wash?! Ha! Bar of tiny soap and travel size shampoo and conditioner is what you're going to get. It doesn't matter if there are multiple people with you or that you're staying for several days. Our room was "lovely" too. It was separated with a thin door (the one that you likely have in your home in your bedroom) between us and another guest. I think we all should have just paid for the room together since it felt as though the people next door were in our room. I heard every word they said and every move they made. I don't know about you, but I really enjoy hearing others use profanity and shout at each other late at night... Next, we had some time to kill during our stay and decided to go play miniature golf. "The miniature golf at Westgate resort is so fun!" said no one ever. The theme of it is Jurassic Park (although the sign is missing the "J" and it's just Urassic Park) and it has jumbo dinosaurs displayed throughout. My kid tapped on one and some woman out of nowhere started screaming at her that the dinosaur was expensive and not to touch it. Well, the "Karen" also learned two things today - not to ever raise her disgusting voice at another person's child and to mind her business in the future. If she were to take it any further, she would have also learned how to swim in the pond that the mini golf area overlooks. Luckily for her, she did have a single brain cell to know to discontinue behaving like a complete idiot. I don't understand why people feel so strongly about items that don't even belong to them. The pools are not heated and they do not offer towels. I have never seen that. Am I supposed to bring my own? Walk back drenched to my room? I guess so. The butterfly garden next to the tennis courts - not a single butterfly is in there. How can I blame the butterflies? I would have flown away from this place myself. To summarize my stay with this "resort" - if I were to never return in my lifetime, it would still be too soon. If you have someone in your life that you really hate, I'd say recommend this place to them. Believe me, they will be miserable. read more

This is our second stay here. First was three nights, this time was five nights. The room accommodations are fine. Nice furnishings, big rooms. Nice to have a fridge and microwave. However, the walls and floors are very thin you hear everything, including what neighbors are doing, including some conversations. The pool is open till 11 o'clock, which allows for people to be screaming and yelling outside your room, which is not very sound proof. It took two calls to maintenance to get a battery in a smoke alarm replaced so we heard beeping for 12 hours. When you get back to the hotel after Disney, we ended up parking four buildings away, at 1 o'clock in the morning with a family of five. Definitely not enough parking spaces in this facility. The room affordability is not worth the other annoying issues. Book elsewhere. read more

Our room was very nice and clean; however, it was dated, and the fans did not move fast enough to cool it. Besides our room, the rest of the resort was disgusting, with trash on the sidewalks, and the pools were overcrowded and not well-maintained. Finding you way around the resort is confusing and the shuttles take a very long time to get to you, we waited 30 minuets for a shuttle just to take us to the lobby. The Wi-Fi is absolutely awful, one network for the whole resort to share, so needless to say, it didn't work at all. On top of all of this, the staff was generally rude and unhelpful. I gave 2 stars only because our room was great and clean, but for the overall experience at this resort, I'd give it one star. read more
