Absolutely AMAZING. This is the best restaurant I've ever been to, and every time I visit a new one I compare it to the Inn. This restaurant came highly recommended so we drove an hour to try it out and I'm sorry to say we were very disappointed. Think of a place your parents would have considered fancy circa 1991 and that's the Westline Inn. The server was terrible, no personality whatsoever and she did an awful job explaining the dishes. When I asked what was on the "vegetarian platter," her response was, "it's like the chicken dish but with a portobello mushroom and a different sauce." The rack of lamb was the dish my husband wanted but they were out of lamb (by 6:30 pm on a Saturday? How does that happen?) The service took way too long and the prices are way too high for the quality you're getting. There are so many better, more modern restaurants just over the border in Olean; don't waste your time on this relic. read more

What a delicious steak. I had the STEAK AU POIVRE Two 5oz. portions of tenderloin grilled with peppercorns and covered with a brown cognac sauce. It was perfectly cooked and so good. The rustic charm was nice. Really happy we stopped in for dinner. read more

A three star is gracious considering their "crab chowder"...straight vegetable soup!! It was a contest between the four of us to find the crab meat!! NO ONE WON!!! Our server, Stan won us over!! We'd heard (for years) that the Westline Inn had great food, and finally got the chance to go there on 08-22-20. The place is simple and sort of old fashioned, but cozy and comfortable. They actually have rooms for rent too! It was built in the late 1800's and is literally in the middle of beautiful mountains. The menu had a really great selection and everything we ordered was fabulous. The crowd continually grew as we sat there, even as we felt we were in the middle of nowhere. That's proof positive that Westline is awesome! Go check it out. If you're into hiking, bicycling or kayaking you'll be in the perfect area to enjoy it all! read more

Cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this out of the way inn. Owners are friendly and very helpful. We spent a few nights at the inn. Quaint rooms, clean and very reasonable in price. Okay, let's get into the nitty gritty. The food ( in pub) is outstanding. The specials changed each night and each dish was better than the last. They also have a dining room in the back. A gem in the mountains that is one of my all time faves! What can I say about one of my most favorite restaurant/bars of all time. Just on the other side of the Allegheny National Forest and near the NY border this place is a nestled gem! Two separate menus and both are good. One for the bar and one for the restaurant. I always eat one of the steaks and steamer (clams) appetizer from the restaurant side. Food is great and plenty of craft brews! The bar is a special place along with its bazaar animal and fish mounts. You wouldn't know what bazaar means until you witness these mounts. Picture attached! Don't miss this great gem in the woods. Did I mention they have quaint hotel rooms. Just watch out for the brown trout when you are playing shuffle board...you may have nightmares!!! read more

Very friendly and welcoming place in the middle of no where. The bathrooms are a tight squeeze. The food is very well done and you wouldn't expect it. The fish fry is really good. The stuffed pepper appetizer is delicious as well. The decor inside is rustic and neat. The bar side can get crowded. The food all looks and smells good. The bar side has a shuffleboard table that is fun to play and a juke box. I'd go here again often. I want to try all the other menu items. read more

The food was very good. My prime rib was very tasty. It's a very unique place where you wouldn't expect it. Our server was very personable and funny. My only complaint would be the ladies room. One stall is absolutely ridiculously small!!! There is absolutely no way you can stand in front on the toilet with the door closed let alone even attempt to try and use the toilet! Made a dinner reservation for 7 people. We arrived and were sat in a room where there were no other patrons yet and with views to the outdoor seating. We were provided a paper menu with 7 entree options ranging in price from $27-$40 including filet, surf and turf, and crab cakes. Being out of towners, we assumed this was the full menu. After ordering, we noticed every other party being sat around us (including a party the same size as ours) all being provided with trifold plastic menus and being served options including sandwiches and quesadillas. We already had our orders in for appx. 20 minutes but asked the staff why we were provided with a much smaller, more expensive menu. They explained that our party was given this menu because we made a "dinner reservation," and that it must be specified that you want the "pub menu" in order to get the more extensive and cheaper menu. The employees summed it up to that we were "out of towners" and did not know to specify. They then apologized for their "mistake." No comps were made to the bill, just offered us a free bottle of champagne. This is terrible, very shady business. It is unacceptable for a restaurant to target tourists and give them a small selection of their most expensive options. read more

Since the change of ownership, the staff isn't nearly as attentive, and the "new" chef is not a cook. We had the Steak Au Poive, no brown cognac sauce on ours, just plain old soy sauce! Others in our party were also disappointed. Food not hot, and mistakes by our waitress. By the time Spring arrives the Inn will become just one of the local Bar/Burger Joints. Great place to eat and sleep in a fairly remote area. We ate at the pub (a little more informal here) and had the half rack of ribs. Very tasty, and bold flavour. They had several fantastic beers on tap - Jen and Glenn (I think owner/operators) were wonderful hosts. After drinks, dinner and desert, we stumbled up the stairs to our rooms.
