One of the area's best places to dine, tucked away in historic Westline, Pa. This inn has fabulous food and a famous 'dusty trout' in the pub area. Choose from their elegant dining room or friendly pub area for seating. Pub and dinner menu both have excellent choices. Warm and welcoming staff as well as interesting historical decor to enjoy!

If your in the Allegheny National Forest or just passing through this place is amazing. Excellent food, the staff is amazing weather you eat in the Pub or dining room. Highly recommend with some amazing history and location you just can't beat.

Random shot of the dining room. We really liked the rustic ambiance.

What a delicious steak. I had the STEAK AU POIVRE Two 5oz. portions of tenderloin grilled with peppercorns and covered with a brown cognac sauce. It was perfectly cooked and so good. The rustic charm was nice. Really happy we stopped in for dinner.

Beautiful blue skies and fresh air surrounding the Westline Inn.

We'd heard (for years) that the Westline Inn had great food, and finally got the chance to go there on 08-22-20. The place is simple and sort of old fashioned, but cozy and comfortable. They actually have rooms for rent too! It was built in the late 1800's and is literally in the middle of beautiful mountains. The menu had a really great selection and everything we ordered was fabulous. The crowd continually grew as we sat there, even as we felt we were in the middle of nowhere. That's proof positive that Westline is awesome! Go check it out. If you're into hiking, bicycling or kayaking you'll be in the perfect area to enjoy it all!

A gem in the mountains that is one of my all time faves! What can I say about one of my most favorite restaurant/bars of all time. Just on the other side of the Allegheny National Forest and near the NY border this place is a nestled gem! Two separate menus and both are good. One for the bar and one for the restaurant. I always eat one of the steaks and steamer (clams) appetizer from the restaurant side. Food is great and plenty of craft brews! The bar is a special place along with its bazaar animal and fish mounts. You wouldn't know what bazaar means until you witness these mounts. Picture attached! Don't miss this great gem in the woods. Did I mention they have quaint hotel rooms. Just watch out for the brown trout when you are playing shuffle board...you may have nightmares!!!

A friend recommended and we love it. Excellent crab cakes and steak. Great atmosphere in a remote area. Can't go wrong.

I stopped in for dinner last night. The shrimp appetizer was very good but slightly over cooked. I went with the broiled fish dinner which was extremely flavorful and reasonably priced. The drinks were all reasonably priced as well. The owner seemed very nice and personable. Overall, I had a good experience and would go back.

Recently we have eaten at both the restaurant and the bar, the food and service were great. Planning on going there more often.

It's next door to the hotel and when we went it wasn't so busy that we were ignored but they staff were certainly being kept on their toes (Father's Day weekend, graduations, hotel guests...). They have both indoor seating (complete with a bar if you'd like to sit there) and a really nice looking patio area. The food was fantastic. Our server was great too; she was really friendly and helpful with recommendations. I ordered the reuben sandwich, which was deeeelicious. The salmon was apparently wonderful too, from what my partner said. And I ordered the macaroni and cheese from the kids menu but it was huge. My baby loved it and since it was so huge there was too much for her, so I had the rest at a later time. They had a really good strawberry lemonade, of which we (my daughter and I, because of course she had to have some) drank several glasses. Our server even brought me a to-go cup of it because she said it looked like we were slowing down and may be near finishing. I didn't ask her to bring me a cup of it to go, and wouldn't have thought to ask, so I was very happy she brought it for the rest of our ride to Cleveland. But perhaps my favorite part of the meal were the appetizers. We ordered some macaroni and jalapeño bites which were a hit as far as myself and the little one were concerned, with not too much heat that she could enjoy them. The restaurant has a Brussels sprouts appetizer, but they do it as an "of the week" special. The week we were here it was inspired by elote, so it had some corn and cheese and stuff on it and they were so good. I love Brussels sprouts, and will happily try them prepared in a new way. As of June 2026, I think they are short staffed. Our food took a little longer than usual but that was ok; it gave us a chance to chat and relax. Just be patient if you visit in the near future since they are down an employee or two! But even with that, it was a pleasant evening, the staff were fantastic and helpful, and the food totally hit the spot.

Possibly the best French Toast I've ever had. It's egg battered which is a plus. They also give you plenty of syrup and butter. I got the Gin Mill Brunch Burger because I was craving some burgers, but I didn't know they had a separate breakfast menu, so I went with the brunch burger, which sounded good. It's a normal burger but with egg and instead of using regular burger buns, they use a bagel. It also comes with diced hash browns which were very flavorful. As much as I love burgers, this one just wasn't as good as I hoped. Mainly because of the bagel, which was harder than your typical burger bun. The burger was also lacing some flavor. Our server was also very nice and explained everything to us. The interior is also very nice and has a historic atmosphere with lots of taxidermy.

Very good beer menu, despite there being no Scotch ale. Boo! One friend was very happy to find Sam's Cherry Wheat among the selections. I made do with a Prosecco from their decent wine list. I wish I'd remembered that I wasn't all that thrilled with the crab cake at Public House on the Lake. Not that it's bad. Just not the "jumbo lumps" I prefer in a crab cake. Cajun aioli - yum. The friend that ordered the steak sandwich cooked medium received it well done, but said it tasted good. And she's really picky about her beef. Stinger sandwich and chicken fingers were pronounced fine. French fries were not. Shoestring isn't my favorite cut, but these were limp and greasy. Wet potatoes? Oil not hot enough? French fries shouldn't be this hard to get right. Minor complaints: no blueberries in the EBC blueberry wheat. For shame. You're right next door to its birthplace! And serving a souffle cup with the lid still on is just a wee bit tacky. YES, I'm picky. And proud of it.

Their menu is not updated on any of their pages so I can't remember what I ordered. It was a cocktail that mixed crisp, dry white wine, some kind of spirit and club soda. It was refreshing, interesting and light yet had just enough flavor to make it unique. The service was good. There were 2 bartenders that night who were helpful, attentive and friendly. There are a few tables with umbrellas outdoors in the front. A bar and some tables on the first floor inside and a metal spiral staircase which has a few small tables on the 2nd floor. Def not a great place for groups. Try and come at an odd time to get a seat.
