I'm writing this as a more neutral review since I actually didn't get to bowl here since Sunday there are leagues around 3pm until 7 or 8pm. Although it is a beautiful small bowling alley. I love that they have all of the lights on and there's a lot of parking. Hopefully next time I'll get to bowl here. read more

This used to be my family's go-to bowling alley about 15 years ago! I also had a personal training client who played in leagues here regularly, so this place holds a special place in my heart. About 6 years ago or so I believe, they went under new ownership. Today was my first time back in 8 years ______________ The good: SERVICE! I see everyone talking about how bad the service was, but I had the OPPOSITE experience. Everyone was so friendly and warm! The man at the front desk gave us a few extra minutes so that we could finish our game. We were also to ask for several 6lb balls with no issue. The woman who was working brought out bigger cups for us so that we wouldn't have to keep refilling our waters. And the man was working at the food counter brought us pitchers of water without us even asking! Unpopular opinion, but I actually hated the original staff that worked here because they were always very grumpy and rude. My entire family was complimenting the customer service of the staff today! Free water! I know that there's a sign saying you can't bring in your own water, but they literally have a station with ice cold water for you to refill for free as often as you want to. In the past, they would charge us for cups of water. Air: there is AC now! Ball selection: They have their bowling balls organized by weight on a back wall, which I LOVE. Food: The food has changed, but it's still pretty good! They used to have club sandwiches, burgers, and steak fries, and now it's mostly pizza and wings. Their club sandwiches were the stuff of dreams... But thankfully, their new food (particularly the pizza) is actually still really good--the best I've had for bowling alley food Lanes: bumpers are now automated Ambiance: I personally HATE bowlero, 300, lucky strike, and all of those "lounge" alleys that make me feel blind. I love that Westminster lanes still has a very old-school classic bowling alley feel to it __________ The bad: The lanes: They upgraded a lot of the areas, but the lanes and chairs have no been upgraded. Restrooms: Even with the upgrades, the bathrooms still reek of sewage. Overall it was an enjoyable experience. There were plenty of lanes available at 3:30 pm on a Friday. The service was quick and easy and the prices were decent. The only downfall was that the kitchen doesn't open until 5pm and when they say 5 they mean 5:15ish or whenever everyone arrives and clocks in and starts prepping. Westminster Lanes is a classic bowling spot. I feel like I am walking into 'Cheers' where everybody knows your name. I usually book online in advance because the lanes can fill quick. Wednesday night is when the serious players compete and it is fascinating to watch their skill and precision. The food is delicious! We usually get chicken wings and a half pepperoni/half cheese pizza and hits the spot. Great beers and cocktails -- I always get an perfect vodka tonic. There is plenty of parking. I have not been to Westminster Lane in YEARS! I finally walked in last weekend for a birthday party. I can't comment on price since we were party guests and shoes/lane time/food was covered for us. The kids had a blast though! They liked that they could change the scoreboard to various kid friendly screens like Angry Birds that animated while they played. The built in bumpers were cool. You could choose which players had bumpers and which ones did not. When I was a kid, the bumpers were these yellow inflatable things so it was pretty much all or nothing lol We had cheese and pepperoni pizza for lunch. They were pretty tasty. read more

We had a great time at the Lanes. We didn't expect their food to be so good we were truly blown away. There was one cook working I believe Chris was her name. I asked her what she does for her fries to be so nice and crispy and the burgers so juicy. I came with friends for my bday and needed 3 lanes. When I went to the front to inquire on the price it was higher then what's online. The tall, larger white male working said you called earlier and I told you you should reserve online. I said I didn't call. He said well someone in your group did because they asked for 3 lanes. None of my friends called so don't be a jerk. I said so I can go online right now and make a reservation and get the cheaper price? Mind you half the ally was empty at that time. Yes. It's dumb because I'm standing right here but I went ahead and booked it online and a few minutes later they called my group up to get our shoes. The lanes have been upgraded and the scoring but the balls are horrible with so many dings. Don't expect it ti roll smoothly. I get it, after covid people don't care much about customer service but unless you can prove I am who you think called, don't be a jerk and make assumptions. People do have friends and others do require 3 lanes. I gave it a two because my friends and I enjoyed ourselves, but that's a star for us, truly it's a 1. We went bowling for a birthday party at Westminster Lanes and had a great time! Everyone was very helpful with getting our group checked-in and asking how things were going throughout the party. We ordered food for our group. Chris and Tony were our cooks and the food was delicious! I told the girl are you serious? She looked at me with a smirk and said the signs are posted everywhere. I told her that this is a water bottle with water and not a beverage. My boyfriend and I used to drive all the way out from Moreno Valley every Tuesday just for family bowling night here because of how great their prices were, but most likely won't be coming anymore. We were shocked to come back to West Lanes one Tuesday and find out that there was a new owner and now for the same amount of time that we normally bowled there (4 hours) the price would now cost more than double of what we normally paid! We went from paying $25 per lane from 9 p.m. to closing to now $25 for two hours and then another $25.75 just to extend the lane for another hour. That's $50+ just for 3 hours of bowling?! Same (outdated) lanes, same (outdated) equipment, same everything, but all prices were more than doubled what it was before! I think that's what people usually call a rip off?? P.s. to the regulars, you also can't bring your own WATER in anymore. read more

The bowling place comes with a large private parking lot, good group hangout place, and beyond forty lanes, there's a small session of arcade games, service wasn't that great, staff were not friendly and very impatient, old facilities and many bowling balls are worn out already. read more

In addtion to regular league bowling they offer fun weekend tornaments. The manager and new front desk staff are helpful and friendly. I enjoy bowling here. read more

Felt a little skeptical coming here after reading the reviews but, this place is not bad at all! It's located on Westminster blvd, and after 9pm it's $25 for a lane plus $4 for shoes unlimited bowling until 130am. The front desk people are not rude but they're not nice either. You can buy drinks and food located at the far end of the alley. We ordered the quesadilla and French fries and both were better than I expected! I think there are about 35-40 lanes available. This place is a little outdated but in my opinion, I like the vibe of older bowling lanes anyways. Our balls did get stuck from time to time but it's an easy fix. Overall, this isn't a bad place at all. Yes, you have to deal with the monotone front desk people but after that, for the price you pay it's worth it! I'm definitely coming back especially since it's only 5 minutes from my house! read more

We tried pouring the 32 oz cups into smaller cups and they didn't allow us to do that either. Whatever you do do not lay a finger on the paper they have taped on the front desk! My brother was just fidgeting with his fingers while talking to the lady at the front and out of nowhere some guy (beard and short brown hair) tells my brother to stop touching it (very rude tone) . Then he goes on to say that my brother will print him out a new one because he said it was wrinkled (it wasn't). And get this, he's supposed to be the manager of of the place! My brother told him to quit being a jackass because the paper was perfectly fine! He ended up not letting our group of 10 bowl and told us to have fun paying more at Fountain Valley Bowl. His lips started shaking and he kept giving our party a menacing look. So we did exactly what he wanted but hardly payed more. Fountain Valley had way more customers than Westminster and way better customer service. Oh and his precious paper ended up getting torn and crumpled up for giving us that look! He can print it out himself again. I just hope he puts it on a wall behind the counter if he cares about I it so much. read more

Came in on a Friday evening with my 5 and 6 yr old after purchasing a Groupon, wasn't able to use it, my bad though it clearly says on the Groupon what time you CAN use it. We were not able to bowl as there was a "League" I didn't see a sign or anything anywhere saying this. But we stayed for the arcades, a lot of the machines didn't work! Ms. Pac Man wasn't even on! Too sad! But we found Pac Man Royale a 4 player game and my kids and I loved it! The arcade area is kinda small and the games are old. Could use an update. We came back Monday around 2pm and were able tp use our Groupon $26 for 2 hrs of bowling includes 4 pairs of shoes (although we only needed 3). We got Lane 4 which was great and close to the snack area pretty lonely at this time of day which was nice too. The lightest bowling ball they had was 5lbs & still a little too heavy for my kids but they had a blast! The shoes are a little old but they had our sizes which was nice. Very nice place for family fun and honing in on my bowling skills. Staff are helpful and place is well kept. Lanes are periodically oiled and cleaned. During non-league open play it can get crowded with families and children so expect for them to not be aware of bowling etiquette. Prices are similar to other places but they offer Groupon specials. Also I like it that they do not have Cosmic bowling or at least during the times we have gone. We will definitely keep coming back. read more
